We're looking for more Mumsnet users to test out Lollipop; a free, smart shopping assistant which helps you do your weekly food shop and gives you inspiration for meals to cook. You can find out more about Lollipop here. This test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child who lives at home.

Here’s what Lollipop has to say: “We know that grocery shopping is a time consuming chore. That’s why we’ve launched Lollipop, the brand new way to do the weekly shop, designed with you in mind. We’ll help you get your household essentials in record speed… without forgetting the toilet roll. Often the toughest part of the weekly shop is deciding what to eat but Lollipop will have you effortlessly cooking new yummy meals the whole family will love.

Today we’re building features that make the shop quicker, giving you valuable time back (if you promise to treat yourself with it). In future, we’ll make it easy to share the responsibility with the rest of your house, until eventually, Lollipop will just do the shop for you. We’re just getting started so your feedback is critical to making sure that we build something which changes your life. Yes, we want it to be that good! So don’t hold back, tell us what you think, and join the shopping revolution.”

Selected testers will need to use Lollipop to order their next online grocery shop via Sainsbury’s (please note there is a minimum shop value of £40). If you don’t already shop via Sainsbury’s online, Lollipop can help you create a Sainsbury’s account.

After testing Lollipop, testers will need to give their feedback via a thread on Mumsnet and complete a short survey. As a thanks for their time, all testers who leave the required feedback will receive a £10 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

If you’re interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

‘Share the responsibility with the rest of your household’

Hmm

Have they ever read AIBU and the relationships board?

Not one in 20 years have I been able to ‘share the responsibility’ - men and kids aren’t even able to write in a whiteboard when they’ve used something up.

EvilHerbivore · 20/08/2021 15:38

Anybody else really struggling to make it work?

Anybody else really struggling to make it work?
I found it OK to use. A bit of a faff having to log into Sainsburys to check out but otherwise fine.

I gave up. I often do a few product tests with Mumsnet and enjoy the opportunity to try out something new. With this it just felt like a chore. Shame really as it is an interesting concept just a bit too much of a faff. I shop with Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado and each of them do recipes suggestions direct on their websites so I didn’t really get the point?!

Heruka · 24/08/2021 20:42

I gave up too. Could see it would be useful once you got it set up and running but I didn’t have the time to get it going, compared with ‘put all items from previous trolley’ and edit option.

CiaoForNiao · 26/08/2021 00:54

Oh I think I just signed up for this but it looks like I'm too late.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 28/08/2021 21:35

Me too. The submit button took me to a Mumsnet page about their insight panel, so not sure it worked. By the feedback so far, I'm not too sad about that.

LubaLuca · 29/08/2021 15:58

I gave up with it too. It complicated something that I find a bit of a chore anyway, so I decided it really wasn't worth the time or effort. Sainsbury's have recipes on their site anyway if I'm looking for inspiration.

Unbelievable

It speaks volumes they haven’t been back to comment or respond

Wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole

Marni83 · 30/08/2021 16:27

@LucyBMumsnet

Suggest you vet these promotions better

This one along with the daft NatWest one (£5 voucher for a 2 workshops giving feed back!) is just crap

Marni83 · 30/08/2021 16:28

Pointers give their time to fill in the survey
But it’s a waste

Hi, has anyone received their £10 voucher yet for taking part in this survey ? I was in the first round.

LubaLuca · 31/08/2021 14:51

I didn't get as far as properly testing it, so no voucher due here. It really wasn't worth £10 to me it turned out.

Did you like the Lollipop thing, @poppy1973?

poppy1973 · 31/08/2021 15:13

Not great, as all the recipes I put into my basket, turned out to have nothing in stock with my local Sainsburys. I think I just ended up with extra leeks as a result.

Kakemix1603 · 31/08/2021 18:52

Hi I am a 30 year old mum of 2, I had Coronvirus over a month ago, for the past week I have experienced shredding of my long (down to my bum) hair. It started off quite small but these past few days it’s been handfuls in my hands and brush when brushing, this is causing me extreme sadness and anxiety, I know for some this is not a problem and will have people thinking it will grow back, but for me this is extremely worrying and upsetting, I have heard that this can be caused by having the coronavirus couple months earlier, I have read it can last months and I am not thinking at this rate I will have no hair left in a few weeks let alone months!! Please if anyone has experienced the same and came out the other end and have no gone bald whilst loosing a ridiculous amount of hair every day then please message me and help me!! I can’t stop thinking about it and I am very sad! Thanks for listening

NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 31/08/2021 21:11

@Kakemix1603 you need to start a new thread x

Kakemix1603 · 31/08/2021 22:04

I don’t know how ☹️

Mogloveseggs · 02/09/2021 17:47

No voucher yet? Anyone else received theirs?

NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 02/09/2021 22:00

I've just had my voucher emailed through

starlingsintheslipstream · 03/09/2021 12:48

I received mine too, thank you.

MrsToddsShortcut · 04/09/2021 01:52

Kakemix

I've taken a picture of my screen (am on a phone) which shows the button for starting a new thread.

Once you click it, you get a new screen with a box for the thread title and then another box where you can copy and paste the info from your post. Sorry to hear about your hair - it is such an important part of how we see ourselves. But if you start a new thread, there will be loads of advice x ThanksWinex

Wondering if this is an AI tool?

Deedee75 · 06/09/2021 17:02

I've just had an email to test this, following one a few weeks ago to say I would be in a later group. I don't think I'm going to be able to complete it, my family wouldn't eat hardly any of those meals in the meal plan, and those they would I'd want to change some of the items, or it's something I already cook and follow my own recipe. I then noticed you could just do a grocery shop so thought I'd try that, and I've given up - you can't sort, and everything is in a random order in each category, and you can only search from the main page, and also have to go back to this each time to go to a different category. Plus there's an awful lot of stuff that I'd normally buy from Sainsbury's (or any food shop) that I just can't find on there at all.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 06/09/2021 19:24

I just logged in, told it I wanted cheap recipes but they are all either way too expensive or aren't an actual meal (maybe it's sainsbury prices, I don't shop there much). Tried to do just the grocery bit and no way of searching products, that I can see. You have to scroll through the categories. I fail to see how this could add anything to my life, so sorry but I'm not going to bother.
