This is the feedback thread for the 150 Mumsnet users who have been testing Warburtons Half White Half Wholemeal bread. This product test was open to all MNers with at least one child aged 1 to 10.

Here’s what Warburtons have to say: “The Half White Half Wholemeal range not only provides a great way of getting more fibre into the diet, but also makes it easy for busy families to get a third of their daily intake. Vitamin D and calcium are important to ensure a healthy immune system and strong teeth and bones.”

Selected testers were sent a voucher to redeem a free loaf of Warburtons Half White Half Wholemeal bread from their local supermarket, and were asked to try the bread with their family.

We had it as toast. Sometimes just with butter, sometimes with honey. It goes nicely with tomato soup.

I thought it was nice, daughter didn't notice the difference from our normal white toast.

Gluten free bread that does not taste of cardboard

Unfortunately I was not able to participate the tesco, asda and morrisons did not sell the bread.

Still been unable to find this in supermarkets in the South East. Happy to send the vouchers back ...

School sandwiches and toast for breakfast.

We are used to having the white toastie version. All kids are it when they wouldn't normally eat whole meal!

We love the bagels - perhaps 50/50 bagels?

3. What did you like most about Warburtons Half White Half Wholemeal bread? The fact that it was half wholemeal-some goodness was getting into them!

For anyone struggling to buy I saw the half and half bread in my local B&M last week, may be worth a try if not stocked at the local supermarkets

I had toast with honey and my daughter wanted strawberry jam sandwich

1. What did you and your family think of Warburtons Half White Half Wholemeal bread? We both enjoyed it and will definitely buy again. We buy toastie bread too so always buy Warburtons as we love the size and the squashy texture.

One point was (not helped by the Covid situation!) I had stock issues so missed the deadline for survey unfortunately 🙁 I haven't been inside a shop since March so had to try to get it on my shop delivery, but it was never in stock in my local Sainsburys so had to ask someone to get it elsewhere, but still had a bit of an issue finding it anywhere.

It's awful bread. The loaves I've had have always been hard round the edges by the crust

I tried Tesco (twice, a week apart), Lidl, Sainsbury's local, 2 different Co-ops and couldn't find it, plus have an Asda delivery tomorrow and they don't stock it either so sorry I can't actually do the survey but it's not through lack of trying!!

We used the loaf for toast and for sandwiches

We all liked it.

It is not too dry and has a texture similar to Warburtons white bread. Also the use by date was pretty long on the loaf I bought.

4. Would you recommend Warburtons Half White Half Wholemeal bread to others?

Yes definitely and I will be buying it again.

50/50 rolls (similar to the white sliced rolls) would be good.
