This is the feedback thread for the 120 MNers with at least one child aged 0 to 13 who have been testing Cushelle Facial tissues.

Here’s what Cushelle have to say: “In 2019 Cushelle entered the facial tissue category with a brand-new range of products. Not only are the Cushelle Facial tissues irresistibly soft, they offer a unique point of being washing machine resistant. The tissues are so strong that they will stay intact even if accidently washed, leaving no fluffy residue on clothing.”

Testers, please answer the following questions:

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
  2. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
  3. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

All testers who leave their feedback on the thread below and via the survey will be entered into a prize draw where 3 lucky testers will each win a £100 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

  1. I liked the koala box packaging - I thought it was cute and fun. The tissues are soft and feel stronger than the average tissue. Medium size is perfect for blowing little noses as didn't feel that I'm wasting tissue.
  1. I've had so many tissue related washing disasters! And now my little boy is 4 he's forever tucking things into his pockets and with a small baby as well Im often distracted and forget to check. I haven't tested the claim that these tissues are washing machine resistant but it would definitely save me a problem if they are.
  1. I found the tissues to be soft - probably on par with the brand I usually use. I have used them over the last week on both children who have had their usual runny noses and they've been fine.

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

These came right in the nick of time! Literally the day they came, all 4 of us came down with horrible colds. So they have been well tested!! We really liked them. I wouldn’t say they are more soft than the supermarket own brand balm tissues I usually buy, but they were just as soft. No sore noses here.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

All the time. I’m so bad for checking pockets!! And I have to say, one of them survived the wash and the tumble dryer, so it’s a definite thumps up here.

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

I would definitely use them again, but as I said I’m not sure if they were more soft than my normal tissues. However the ones I normally buy are balm ones and these aren’t but they felt just as nice to use.

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

Good product and love the thought that they are washing machine resistant. I wasn't keen on the packaging though - thought the purple looked garish. My toddler was attracted to it as well and kept wanting to pull the tissues out (she's never attracted to the usual green coloured ones we get).

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Yes - probably once a quarter which is so annoying when it happens! This would definitely help.
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
Not as soft as the ones I usually get but would definitely use them. Felt that I could fold & reuse on my toddler's snotty nose which is a bonus.

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
We love this cute koala cube and these tissues are perfect. Soft but does not tear to pieces easily.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
I already washed accidentally this new Cushelle Facial Tissue in my washing machine. It came out like an overused tumble dryer sheet and our clothes and the washing machine remained clean and residue free. I was really happy!
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
Yes I will definitely use them during cold season.
CordeliaScott · 10/02/2020 21:45

1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
They were good. They felt relatively strong. However, I prefer my usual tissues, Kleenex Balsam. I would use these if there was no Kleenex available
2. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
I have. Whilst I didn't try them through the wash the tissues did feel strong and I imagine that they might hold up in the wash
3. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
They were quite soft, but not as soft as my usual tissues, Kleenex Balsam. I would use them usually or during cold season but they would not be my first choice

cather · 11/02/2020 21:24
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?- I liked them, they are a good size and felt soft
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this? - I've had plenty, my sons and husband are always leaving tissues in pockets. I tried washing one just to test out the claim and was pleased to find that it didn't make a mess of my washing so was very impressed
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season? - They were much softer than my normal tissues so will be fine in cold season

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

The box is very cute and i like the koala cut out but it does seem pointless. The tissues are very soft and gentle but i do find the tissue separate as they are only 3 thin ply.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

Lots of time with the tissues getting shredded and ruining the clothes.

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

They are very soft and gentle and it would be the perfect to use as it would not irritate you

lorka · 12/02/2020 08:48

Thank you for the tissues. Smile

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I like them - they are soft and felt strong. They are also a good size as I think some tissues are just too big. I like the design of the box too.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Yes - I have had many tissue disasters in the washing that left tiny small pieces of white fluff over everything. I didn't test the tissues in the washing but hopefully they would stay in one piece and not spread throughout the wash.
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
I thought they were very soft and would certainly use them during cold season.
TellMeItsNotTrue · 12/02/2020 11:17

1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I was impressed, they seemed soft but strong, normally its one or the other

2. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Yes, no matter how well you think you've checked all the pockets, every so often one sneaks in! I hate opening the washing machine door and realising it's happened again 🤦‍♀️
I was tempted to try these out by purposely having one in a wash... But I chickened out and thought I'd read other people's reviews first Blush
The fact that they seem strong despite also being soft leads me to believe the claim

3. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
I was impressed that they were soft AND strong, rather than having to choose between the two. I'd definitely use these when one of us has a cold or hayfever hits, you need a strong tissue but it starts to make your nose sore pretty quickly, but Cushelle tissues are the best of both worlds

Ouryve · 12/02/2020 20:08

Glad I checked because I haven't received a link to this thread or the survey. I guess I'll have to report my post.

. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

The box is attractive and the tissues are nice and thick and strong. They've found a place in the dining room for wiping food covered hands and faces. They don't stick or disintegrate, even faced with rhubarb crumble!

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Many, many. Usually in a black wash.

Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this? Probably not because they've not been getting used for runny noses, so don't end up in pockets.

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

I find them quite hard, tbh. I don't like blowing my nose with them and wouldn't want to use them with a full blown cold.

ArnoldJRimmer · 13/02/2020 08:29

1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I found them to be very strong yet soft. My 5 year old has come down with the cold over the last few days and these have survived nose explosions without disintegrating and haven't left her nose red and sore. The packaging on the cube is eye catching. It wouldn't put me off purchasing but is maybe too bold and in your face and doesn't fit with my colour scheme Grin

2. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Far too many disasters to count. There is nothing worse than opening the door to find the clean washing covered in tiny bits of tissue which is a nightmare to get off. With trepidation I placed a hanky from the cube scrunched up in a sleeve before washing and in a different load I placed a hanky from a packet inside the backside pocket of a pair of jeans and I can honestly say I was shocked to find the tissues completely survived and could be unfolded out in to a complete square shape again. My DD wanted to dry it out and reuse the tissue but the urge to shred it and make a mess became too much for her. Highly impressed with these tissues.

3. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
These tissues are incredibly soft and have been used a lot while my DD has the cold. I've also had no problems using them on my one year old. I would though be more inclined to buy these tissues during cold season if they also had a 'balm' version since this is generally our go to hanky when one of us has the cold. But still, I would recommend these tissues.

WilsonandNoodles · 13/02/2020 21:27
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
Since the tissues arrived everyone in the house has been full of cold so we have given them a good test. They were strong, soft and absorbent so everything you need in a tissue.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

Every time my husband has a cold we end up washing a tissue and covering a load of washing in bits. It didn't happen by accident with these tissues so we put one in to see what happened and it ripped in half but with no little bits.

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

They were soft and gentle even on my babies face. My older son often gets a sore nose when he has a cold but he was ok with these.

torthecatlady · 14/02/2020 12:52
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I thought they were brilliant. They really were softer than the brand I normally buy and pretty strong / hardwearing. I even thought packaging was great. The tissues came out perfectly (individually, not in a clump of 2 or 3) and I liked that the barcode was on the bottom of the box so it can't be seen. It bothers me when other brands have the barcode on the side of the box for people to see! Blush I've recommended them to friends and passed the box around the office, everyone said they were great and soft.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
I have had one or two tissue-related washing disasters. I meant to try it out to see if it lived up to its claims but didn't get around to it!
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
I thought they were lovely and soft and will definitely purchase in the future.
Floralgizelle · 14/02/2020 12:53

1.What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
Nice and soft, a bit thicker than your average tissue.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Tissue in pockets has happened a few times, slightly skeptical that this wouldnt happen with these tissues, but not brave enough to test it.
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
They were soft, and would be happy to use them during cold season especially for young children to try and prevent a sore nose.
MilkyMamma · 15/02/2020 07:23
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues? Sorry but I thought the packaging was hideous, I have to admit I’ll always pick tissues to match my rooms. But obviously that’s personal taste and I’m sure they’d go with some peoples decor. But this was my first thought.
That being said, I would definitely buy again because they were to beautifully soft, softest tissue I’ve ever used and they came in very handy for lots of poorly noses this week.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Yes, and yes! I tentatively tested them in a wash and they survived!
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season? Yes see answer above, very very impressed with the softness indeed.
Thanks for letting us test them!
Toomanytears · 15/02/2020 09:43
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

They are soft which is great but do have an odd texture which I presume is to stop them breaking down.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

Loads! I think these will break down less but still get everywhere.

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season? I liked them. I would definitely buy if someone in the house had a cold.
HavenDilemma · 15/02/2020 15:06

I haven't been sent a link to the survey for some reason, however I was sent the tissues to test??

1.What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
Lovely packaging, very soft, thick & good quality.
I was for some reason under the impression that they were going to be wipes - no idea why! Very glad they're not!
The little travel packs were very handy!

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster?
Ohhh yes! Far too many to count. I tried popping one of these in the pocket of a pair of jeans and as promised - it came out like a wet piece of kitchen towel and had I dried it, would've been useable!
  1. Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
Absolutely! See above answer.
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were?
Incredibly soft! My Mum has a medical issue which causes her frequent heavy nose bleeds meaning she goes through tonnes of tissues and often has a sore nose as a result. I gave her some of these to test out and wow! She's very impressed! No irritation whatsoever. It's actually improved her life, as she has multiple heavy nose bleeds per day. They're now considerably more tolerable thanks to these tissues.
  1. Would you want to use them during cold season?
Definitely. I have extremely sensitive skin and always suffer with soreness from frequent nose blowing when I have a cold, so I will be picking up some more of these for the inevitable cold I'll be getting soon!

Thankyou for letting us try them, they've actually helped us. Who knew tissues could improve your life so much?!

sally2489 · 15/02/2020 21:58
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I thought it was in a small good sized box with a lovely design. The actual tissues were very soft and easy to remove from the box.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
I’ve had plenty of disasters with tissues left in pockets in the washing machine, and it’s reassuring that these tissues would prevent such a disaster.
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
They were lovely and soft to use when wiping their noses, and I would definitely use them again and recommend to others in this cold season.
shoebedo434 · 16/02/2020 18:58
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I thought they were lovely and soft and also durable. they didn't fall apart in my hands
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?
I have had plenty of tissues disasters normally due to my husband leaving them in his pockets and me forgetting to check them before washing. I haven't had them in the washing machine so cant comment on that but if they don't fall apart as promised, that would be amazing
  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?
I thought they were softer than the ones I currently use. I often end up with a sore and red nose after a cold from the constant blowing and sneezing. I haven't had a cold since I received the tissues but they do feel softer so hopefully won't leave me with a sore nose
bellanotte22 · 16/02/2020 21:31
  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?

Really soft and easy to access from the box.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

Some did end up in the tumble! Thankfully they stayed together and we avoided the snow like paper everywhere!

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

Beautifully soft, they would be good for sore noses.

GreenGooner · 17/02/2020 12:26

I thought these were lovey. Soft on my little boys face. I used them all on him as it was more environmental friendly than using wipes. The packaging is appealing and didn't look out of place in our lounge. Would definitely purchase.

36degrees · 17/02/2020 12:28

These tissues were great, much softer than the ones we're used to, and definitely thicker and stronger. We inherited more than 90 travel packs of tissues when a relative died a few years ago and they had just run out when we received these, so perfect timing! As a pp said, it would be great if these had better packaging than single use plastic.

We are usually handkerchief users, which is where most of our washing machine related tissue disasters come from, because I wouldn't be bothered if a cotton hanky went through by accident. I think because I was thinking about the trial I was more vigilant than usual at taking them out of pockets before washing.

I would definitely buy these again, we tend to only use tissues when one or more of us have something contagious or extra runny noses as it's easier and more hygienic to use and bin tissues as you go, so we don't get through a lot, and I'd rather pay a bit more for good quality like the Cushelle ones. I get the feeling you wouldn't get a sore chapped nose with these because they are so soft and absorbent.

KelBelle · 17/02/2020 12:53

Thanks for the opportunity to let me try these tissues. Here are my answers below...

  1. What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
I really liked these, they were very soft and even having a cold they didn't make my nose sore.
  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this?

I have had numerous tissue related disasters. These tissues feel very strong but not sure if they would avoid a washing disaster. I'm hoping I won't have to find out! Grin

  1. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? Would you want to use them during cold season?

I thought they were very soft and already have tried them with a cold. They were fab! I will definitely buy them again.

AllNewThings · 17/02/2020 13:25

Hi @MNHQ. I've been chased up for feedback on this product test, but I didn't actually receive it. I did report this but no one responded.

Ratbagratty · 17/02/2020 13:33

What did you think of Cushelle Facial Tissues?
Very soft and don't shred to pieces.

  1. Have you ever had a tissue-related washing disaster? All the time! Do you think Cushelle Facial Tissues would help you avoid this? Yes they didn't disintegrate in the machine but did stay in pockets so ended up in tumble dryer and some came out a bit rock like in pockets!
  2. How soft did you think Cushelle Facial Tissues were? nice and soft a good substitute to a hanky Would you want to use them during cold season? Yes
