NOW CLOSED

BEAUTY PIE are looking for 25 Mumsnetters to test out their service and luxury beauty products available at factory costs. This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters and testers will be given a 24 hour free trial membership of BEAUTY PIE, a boosted spending limit, plus 50% off their total basket.

Here’s what BEAUTY PIE has to say: “BEAUTY PIE is the first ever buyers club for beauty addicts. Members shop for luxury products from the world’s leading beauty labs and save up to 85% on the regular price. It seems too good to be true, but it’s not! You get the same quality cosmetics and high performance skincare without paying for the middlemen, the celebrity marketing or the retailer costs. So YOU get a bigger piece of the BEAUTY PIE.”

Selected testers will get:

  • 24 hour free trial to buy BEAUTY PIE’s discounted beauty products
  • £200 ‘regular price’ boosted spending limit (usually £100 for members)
  • 50% off their total basket order on member’s prices (member’s prices are the actual cost to BEAUTY PIE for the product, you can see the transparent cost breakdown on every product page)

Testers will have 2 weeks to test out their new beauty products and will be required to leave feedback on the service and products on a feedback thread on Mumsnet. Everyone who leaves feedback will be entered into a prize draw where 3 testers will win a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

I would love to be involved in this Smile

Tannitot · 09/09/2018 17:08

I would love to do this. Have submitted the application but didn’t receive any confirmation, hope it went through!

Racecardriver · 09/09/2018 18:43

@didiusfalco I think that for a lot if people it doesn't actually make a difference. But my skin is really demanding so I had to spend a fortune on dermalogica keeping it in OK shape then the expensive make up to avoid undoing all my hard work. That said the best mascara I ever used was a cheap max factor one. The beauty pie stuff is cheaper andalmost as good so I use that now instead but there you have it. That said their moisturiser selection is really poor and I have gone back to my £40 one.

Hopeislost · 09/09/2018 20:46

I'm really excited about this. I've heard great things about beauty pie from beauty bloggers (Sali Hughes is a big fan) and would love the opportunity to try it out!

Sparkletastic · 11/09/2018 13:20

Done. I spend an embarrassing amount of my salary on beauty purchases. I know the brands I rate and this would be a useful opportunity to see whether Beauty Pie really ranks with the best of them.

Fishfingersandwich3 · 11/09/2018 19:30

I would definitely apply for this but am already a member and have been for over a year. With the ‘free’ shopping allowance and 50% off, the products will not be expensive at all. (I am not linked to Beauty Pie by the way, just a fan).
I have a video explaining the concept and reviewing a few products here if anyone is interested (MNHQ please feel free to remove if not allowed!)

Jux · 11/09/2018 19:47

I've put my name in though I think I'm beyond help really. I'd give those Vit C capsules a go - last ditch attempt!

How full is their full coverage foundation, assuming they have one?

Where do you find their foundation matcher, or do you have to be a member? I can't find it on the site.

Lacypants · 11/09/2018 21:24

I love the idea of this. The lipsticks look right up my street

Polly99 · 12/09/2018 06:43

Jux - if you click on any of the foundations it takes you to the page where you can see the detail and add to basket. That page will also show the range of shades available and under that (in small writing) it says “not sure of your shade? Try our foundation matcher” with a link. No need to log in to see it.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 12/09/2018 22:38

What a great opportunity Smile

SaltySeaBird · 13/09/2018 13:42

I spend quite a bit on make up and cosmetics and my initial reaction was unsure about the subscription element of this, and a product test we have to pay money for, but now I’m really crossing fingers I get in as the product reviews are great. I’ll have trouble with the spending limit as could see myself easily wanting to spend double that!

Chicinwellies · 14/09/2018 15:06

What a load of marketing tosh. ‘Membership’ clawing back any ‘deals’.

wrapsuperstar · 14/09/2018 19:32

Have applied, I’ve been curious about this site for a while!

yellowsun · 16/09/2018 10:05

What are timings for this? When will we know if we’ve been successful and when would the membership start?

TheWombat · 16/09/2018 16:55

I’ve signed up - been considering BP for a while and would love to try out some of the products..

Hanhan28 · 17/09/2018 21:14

I’ve never heard of beautie pie but in desperate need of new make up so i would love to be part of this trial.

alenn · 18/09/2018 10:38

This post is very helpful

freefan · 18/09/2018 17:42

This sounds like a great trial until properly read. Like everyone else trials don't usually cost anything and mumsnetters will get privileged access to spend their own money on products they probably wouldn't have usually bought at a 50% reduction. More a private sale for 25 people who will maybe only have access to certain product for purchase? Call me sceptical ....

Crebobble · 19/09/2018 04:24

I also would love to try.

peachgreen · 19/09/2018 09:43

Ooh, I've applied (I hope!) - this looks like a fab service for those of us who spend too much money on make-up!

bibolda · 19/09/2018 13:28

I hope i will get into the test group, Would love to try Beauty Pie
