Build-A-Bear have asked us to find 150 Mumsnetters with children aged 4-7 to visit their local Build-A-Bear workshop in order to trial their bear-building process (you can find their list of stores here). All participants will receive a £50 e-voucher to take to their local store to select and build a stuffed toy from their extensive collection along with clothes, shoes, sounds and scents.

Here’s what Build-A-Bear have to say: “CeleBEARate Easter with Build-A-Bear! From birthdays and holidays to good behaviour or an A+ at school, there are so many moments to #celeBEARate with a new furry friend from Build-A-Bear Workshop! Help us #celeBEARate Easter this year.

As we approach the Easter holiday and half term break, parents are always looking for fun, unique and personalized activities and traditions for the family. Bring your kids to Build-A-Bear Workshop to share a fun, heart-filled experience. Document your experience in photos and let us know about your experience with your kids and what made it memorable and meaningful.”

Selected Mumsnetters will be required to leave feedback on a thread on Mumsnet and also fill out a short survey. All testers that do so will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list). We’d also love testers to share photos of their DC building their bear on the thread and find out the story behind the bear and outfit. So whether your DC would like to build themselves a new bear, monkey, unicorn or rainbow confetti leopard signup here to take part.

Thanks and good luck!

Darn it, thought we'd get selected as we posted on the thread early on. Glad I didn't mention it to DS!

NerrSnerr · 26/03/2018 15:50

@laddylonglocks posting on the thread doesn’t make a difference to whether you get picked. People who fill in the form are randomly selected.

Thank you for our voucher - we are very excited to use it this weekend! Will report back about our first Build-a-Bear experience soon! Grin

lollylaus · 26/03/2018 16:53

My little girl is thrilled to have beeen picked. Using our voucher after school this week. Thank you.

laddylonglocks · 26/03/2018 18:05

Ah okay cheers.

CoffeeOrSleep · 27/03/2018 15:52

Is there a feedback thread yet? We went at the weekend and I'm going to forget to give feedback if it's not before the school holidays.

Imfinehowareyou · 27/03/2018 17:40

We did it yesterday. 'Best day EVER!' according to DD1 Grin

I took both my DC and they each spent approx £50 which is the amount you need if they want free rein to choose a teddy, scent, sound, outfit and shoes. However, it is possible to do much cheaper.
It was such a magical experience - they are both still buzzing with excitement now. DD1 has spent time online choosing her next bear etc and figuring out how long she has to save her pocket money for!
All the staff were so friendly, including the chap on the till. We felt like VIPs. I have already recommended it to my friend this morning. Thank you so much Mumsnet, you have made two girls extremely happy!

We went today and had such a lovely time, my almost 5 year old son absolutely adored the whole thing. Where do we need to leave feedback?

TheVeryHungryDieter · 27/03/2018 20:08

I'm also looking forward to giving feedback. Also can't wait to share a picture of my son's bear, Tony. 😂

3littlemonkeys82 · 27/03/2018 20:14

We’ve been to use our voucher... brilliant experience, the staff member was fantastic and we have a new family member. A mario bear called Luigi, that sings power rangers, smells of cupcakes, shoots a Star Wars gun and wears a football kit. 🤷🏼‍♀️

ShowOfHands · 27/03/2018 21:45

Still no voucher here Sad

BlueCookieMonster · 28/03/2018 11:05

We have a hawaii themed charmander that smells of lavender.

Sedona123 · 28/03/2018 16:59

Any luck with your voucher ShowOfHands?

Mine has gone missing too. 🙁 Last update yesterday was that it was apparently being sent out again to a different email address, but it still hasn't arrived!! DS has been constantly asking when we're going since last Friday too. 😱

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2018 17:06

Nope no voucher. Response was that MN have emailed Build-a-Bear but there's been no response/resolution. I have emailed MN a couple of times this week but there's nothing to be done.

Frustratingly, with the holidays and travel arrangements, we could do with going tomorrow but that isn't going to happen I suspect.

We're on day 6 of DS asking when we are going. It's fab that he's excited but on a scale of 1 to "Are we nearly there yet?", it's quite challenging.

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2018 19:51

It's here! Let the bear building commence...

Any luck with yours @Sedona123?

Sedona123 · 29/03/2018 08:25

Our voucher arrived too! Thanks for sorting it out @AaronMumsnet.

Enjoy your bear building @ShowOfHands. 😁

I’m taking DS tomorrow, so to build his excitement we looked at the BAB website before bed. He saw a transformer bear and went into overdrive, couldn’t believe his good fortune as he likes to look in BAB but has never made one himself and he loves transformers.

Off he goes to bed and I meanwhile notice there’s a store availability checker - disaster, no stock in our store! Thankfully he’s pretty laid back so I’m sure he’ll still have an amazing experience choosing something else. Can’t wait and will review on the feedback link when we’re back. Great start to the Easter break Bear
