This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

  2. Which recipes did you try? What did you think of them?
  3. What were your thoughts on the cooking results of the Cook4Me Connect?
  4. Would you recommend the Cook4Me Connect?

All who give their required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Non-testers, please answer the below question. All non-testers who answer the below question will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  • Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Thanks and good luck!

Non tester

I would like to try an authentic Tandoori.

We've enjoyed this spicy dish at restaurants, and found it so tasty. But with all the ingredients needed, and steps involved, have never dared try.

Would love to get creative with this handy gizmo though!

LiveLifeWithPassion · 06/07/2017 19:01

I haven't made houmous yet as I didn't have the dry chick peas I thought I did.
I fancied something sweet and didn't have any eggs or cream that some of the recipes state but I did have the ingredients for some coconut rice pudding.
I found some recipes on the internet. The recipe I used was slightly off so although the rice was cooked in 12 minutes, I had to reduce it a bit on the hob. Just a bit so it only room a minute or 2.
Really speedy and delicious!

I've never cooked with duck so would love to give it a try but lack confidence!

NON TESTER
Always wanted to make a Thai Green Curry

jacqui5366 · 06/07/2017 19:45

non tester - having looked at the website and recipes, I have always wanted to cook Thai - so for me it would definitely be Thai green chicken curry.

FurryTurnip · 06/07/2017 19:53

Non tester: I've been a vegetarian all my life, but now have a meat loving son. I have no confidence in cooking meat as I am wary of under or overcooking, so I would love to try it for casseroles and dishes like chicken curry.

cocochips · 06/07/2017 19:56

Non Tester - would love to cook a yummy Thai Green Curry,

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 06/07/2017 20:01

Tester. Butternut squash risotto cooking...

twinklenicci · 06/07/2017 20:16

NON-TESTER ~ I would love to try to make pulled pork or beef and ale stew

Minnibix · 06/07/2017 20:28

I would love to try to cook BBQ Pulled Pork but I am a little nervous as I would hate to ruin a whole joint of pork

cheekychicken24 · 06/07/2017 20:41

Non tester here - I'd love to try beef bourguignon!

cazzzie987 · 06/07/2017 20:48

I would love to try cooking a risotto, this would make me brave enough to do it.

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 06/07/2017 20:53

Ok the butternut squash risotto was a tad bland and dry even though I added garlic and wine. Good canvas though - I will copy the method.

itsali · 06/07/2017 21:20

(Non-Tester) I think I'd try it for steam puds or soups.

littleme96 · 06/07/2017 21:24

Non-tester - I would love to try cheese souffle, but am too scared!

pfcpompeysarah · 06/07/2017 21:27

Non-Tester. I have always wanted to make a risotto but I am frightened it will all go a bit pear-shaped so I think I would try and give that a go, and hopefully it would be half edible! It is one of those recipes that can go wrong in an instant so I tend to steer clear of even trying it.

YogiYoni · 06/07/2017 21:32

I made the pesto chicken rice tonight. It was probably the best so far.

I've also planned all my meals next week using the app / shopping list and saved myself around £40 on what I would normally spend on my online shop. I consider that a huge bonus!!!

rhinosuze · 06/07/2017 21:44

Non tester - I've always wanted to do coq au vin, would it be possible in this?

EasterRobin · 06/07/2017 22:22

Non-tester here. I've always wanted to make one of those slow-cooked leg of lamb stews where the meat becomes really tender and just falls off the bone. I reckon this would be perfect for cooking it.

keshimonster · 06/07/2017 22:29

Wonder if it would make a risotto

Sid98 · 06/07/2017 22:54

Non Tester - I would love to make chilli con carne

Funkyferret · 06/07/2017 23:13

Non-tester. I'm so tempted by one and would love to try poached salmon but I'm not terribly confident cooking fish and would be worried I'd turn it to mush - but if it's timed that can't happen, surely?!

lhlee62 · 06/07/2017 23:19

I would love to make a sundried tomato risotto that tastes like it does in restaurants. I've never tried as I just think it wouldn't be the same.
