This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

  1. How easy or difficult did you find Cook4Me Connect to use?
  2. Which recipes did you try? What did you think of them?
  3. What were your thoughts on the cooking results of the Cook4Me Connect?
  4. Would you recommend the Cook4Me Connect?

All who give their required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Non-testers, please answer the below question. All non-testers who answer the below question will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  • Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Thanks and good luck!

Non-tester - I'd love to try a chicken korma recipe because I like the idea of just putting everything in one pot and letting the meat absorb all the fabulous flavours

Bequinha213 · 06/07/2017 23:57

Non tester - I would love to try to cook Risotto :)

sweir1 · 07/07/2017 00:19

Non Tester - would love to cook a risotto

Enigma222 · 07/07/2017 04:39

Non Tester - I would like to give Chicken Biriyani ago in this and if it works! This would be my new best friend 🙂

tabbaz123 · 07/07/2017 08:08

non-tester - I am still yet to attempt a hearty beef goulash. I have often improvised with beef recipes in the past but never managed an authentic goulash! Like others on here I would also like to make a good risotto - love the idea of the prawn and white wine risotto.

daniel1996 · 07/07/2017 08:40

Non tester - has to be risotto, my family love to eat it when we are out, but it sounds so hard to make. Would be fab to conquer this and treat my family.

I use to work in the Officers Mess in the Army and as such used to get the same "posh" meals as the officers. I absolutely loved Beef Stroganoff, but would never have tried to cook it at home.

asuwere · 07/07/2017 10:05

Non-tester: I'd love to make lamb stew where the meat is really tender, keep putting off buying lamb as don't want to ruin it.

Tester - next post!
Ok, the shopping list function on the app is great for individual recipes or for you to write your own from scratch. However I normally want to shop for multiple recipes and it's frustrating that there isn't a way of combing the lists from those recipes to create just one actual master list. I have to keep clicking on and out which is silly.

Reheat option on the manual setting is incredibly slow. Vaguely approaching room temp after 18 mins. I then chose the pressure cook option instead and the 5 mins of just preheating made the blog jade boil up! So that's another thing to remember.

Risotto tonight, salmon tomorrow.

Final question I hadn't answered - would I recommend it
Yes! It's a great bit of kit. However, it is very very expensive. So I would say yes if you can get it in the sale or on offer.

Tester here. Sorry I haven't entered any comments / feedback yet. I'm in the middle of a nightmare project at work. BUT, I wanted to say that DH has cooked twice using it!!! That is more than he cooked in the whole of last year!!! So, for that reason alone I'm loving it. I'll add more comments / feedback over the weekend.

happysouls · 07/07/2017 10:50

Non tester - I'd like to try any kind of curry. Normally it is my boyfriend who is the masterchef while I stick safely to the chopping and washing up side of things!

dr31 · 07/07/2017 10:53

I've always wanted to make paella

beargryllshasabigrope · 07/07/2017 10:58

I've been too poorly to cook so I've abandoned my Cook4Me for the last couple of nights. Going to try and throw together a chilli in it tonight or over the weekend, and I have a chicken ready for the cider chicken recipe that's on the app. Looking forward to trying them both.

DH used it to cook a frozen chicken breast the other morning. It took about 12 minutes and he was happy enough with the result.

welshmardymum · 07/07/2017 11:33

I'd love to have a go at lobster thermidore! it is a dish I use when I am joking about super fancy food and it would be nice to actually have a go myself!

beckyinman · 07/07/2017 11:34

Non tester: I have a tin of coconut milk that I have no idea what to do with, so maybe some kind of curry (but open to ideas!)

julieef · 07/07/2017 13:03

queenoftheschoolrun · 07/07/2017 13:15

Non-tester - Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?
Yes, a Moroccan tagine.

FiloPasty · 07/07/2017 13:21

Ooh the Greek Lamb and Thai curry sound like nice recipes.

I'd love to make Saag paneer in one, one of those dishes I love to eat but have never attempted myself.

vincenta · 07/07/2017 13:25

Malina11 · 07/07/2017 16:00

Non-tester: I would like to cook Beef Bourguignon. I have never tried and I am curious what it would be like.

Missmac84 · 07/07/2017 16:58

Non tester: what meal would I make? I'm the same as @YogiYoni I'm a full time teacher with two dc so every meal sounds like it would have been a dream to make in the pot! I'll keep reading the thread daily to see if I should part with the money! x

teddygirlonce · 07/07/2017 17:01

Non-Tester - chicken tikka masala just because Asian cuisine is the one I struggle with most.

emmav6 · 07/07/2017 17:09

NON TESTER - never been brave enough to cook a curry from scratch, would love to try in one of these to see if it is easy enough

CGORST · 07/07/2017 17:20

Non-tester I would most like to try making my nan-nan's meat and potato pie. I have never attempted it as I think I am going to fail miserably. I used to love my nan-nan's version of the pie - there is no taste comparable and I so wish I could make a pie that was anywhere near as good!
