This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

  2. Which recipes did you try? What did you think of them?

  4. Would you recommend the Cook4Me Connect?

All who give their required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Non tester : Beef pot roast, it would lovely to see how the meat cooks and flavours develop

Hopezibah · 06/07/2017 14:30

non-tester: Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Would love to be able to cook fish more - feel clueless when it comes to fish- perhaps something like a posh fish curry!

LeeR1985 · 06/07/2017 14:31

I'd love to make a BBQ pulled pork or chicken recipe but never made one before

katieskatie82 · 06/07/2017 14:31

Non tester: I would love to make a mushroom rissotto. mmmmm

maryandbuzz1 · 06/07/2017 14:40

Has to be Butternut squash risotto .....I am worried the rice would be really stodgy but it is something I would really like to try.

compy99 · 06/07/2017 14:47

non-tester - I would like to have a fresh chickpea and kidney bean vegetable madras curry, always scared of preparing the chickpeas and kidney beans so have in the past used the tinned variety!

Annieg1234 · 06/07/2017 14:50

NON TESTER- I would love to make a Red Thai Curry , i make one with a Lloyd Grossman jar (which i know is totally cheating!) but not brave enough to attempt to make it from scratch!

Lisapaige24 · 06/07/2017 14:58

Non-Tester I would love to cook pulled pork But have always been too nervous to attempt it in case it went very wrong

kassza · 06/07/2017 14:59

Beef Wellington, I always find it hard to believe the meat cooks at the same time as the pastry

emmmaaa26 · 06/07/2017 15:11

I have a cook 4 me and the best recipes are the risottos.

gd2011 · 06/07/2017 15:16

Non-tester. I would like to cook a vegetable paella in it but I'm not sure if it will taste the same as in a traditional "paellera".

Ferryfairy · 06/07/2017 15:38

I've never tried risotto, seems like too much faff, all that stirring, but I love eating it so that would be my first go.

moosexxx · 06/07/2017 15:55

Non Tester

Baked alaska is one dish i've always wanted to try, but it looks far too tricky to attempt to cook it myself.

badgermum · 06/07/2017 15:58

Non-tester - I'd love to be able to make a mushroom risotto as nice as they make in restaurants

Stej7 · 06/07/2017 16:12

Non tester: Any sort of soufflé definately.

amusedbush · 06/07/2017 16:16

Non tester: I'd love to make a proper risotto. I love it but it seems like such a faff!

MrsDramaQueen · 06/07/2017 16:30

Non Tester - Risotto

VilootShesCute · 06/07/2017 16:58

Non tester. Embarrassingly I have never made a curry from scratch. I'd try that in the cook4me for sure.

AnimalAddict · 06/07/2017 16:59

Non Tester. Definitely a souffle! :)

Ok I've used this for five days in a row so I think it's about time I answered the questions set by MN.

  1. How easy is it to use?
The most difficult part was unpacking it because it was so well packaged! I was very careful when I started to set it up because I was worried it was so high tech but that was silly because it's so easy to get started. Actually it's foolproof.
  1. Which recipes did you try?
I did Greek Lamb, beef teriyaki, curried prawns and chicken tikka masala. I also did a seafood pasta using the manual mode from a recipe I got on Facebook. I was really happy with the results. My favourite was the beef teriyaki while the rest of the family loved the Greek Lamb. When using it, I think it's best you have all the ingredients prepared before you start as there is no 'pause' button. The preheating does take a while but maybe I'm being fussy!
  1. What were your thoughts on the results?
I was very happy with the results, as were my family. I'm a good cook anyway but the fact I can get the same results with such little effort is brilliant. It's also more reliable than a slow cooker.
  1. Would you recommend it?
Absolutely. This has made my life easier this week, particularly with the hot weather. I haven't had to stand over a hot stove. It's so easy to clean as well. We're having a crowd for dinner tomorrow night so between my slow cooker and my Cook4Me, I'm much more relaxed than I usually would be!
Roraima · 06/07/2017 17:07

Non-tester would like to make soya meat hot pot. I just have a bit of doubts how long to cook the soya meat for and if to added to the vegs or do it separetaly. Can't find a recipe that attracts me to make it. Also would like to put some wholemeal rice. Hope to find one that it does not taste sugary like the ones you buy in supermarkets. Too many doubts...

feenan761 · 06/07/2017 17:09

Non tester - I would love to be able to cook a Thai Green curry, this gadget sounds really impressive from the above reviews - will be keeping my fingers crossed x

JamesDelayneysTattoos · 06/07/2017 17:14

Just made chicken and rice. Chinese style . Not impressed. Chicken was over cooked, it said strips of breast but maybe leave it as breast pieces. Rice was a tad undercooked and I suspect if I hadn't added wine to my stock it would have been incredibly bland.

helsrodders · 06/07/2017 17:43

Non-tester - I love crispy duck pancakes, with hoisin sauce, spring onions and cucumber. I've never cooked this though and would love to see if the Tefal Cook4Me could cook a duck to crispy duck perfection.

1969angep · 06/07/2017 18:05

Non tester - I'd love to cook risotto. Have done it once before and, whilst it's not difficult, it's a bit of a ball ache constantly stirring it and adding stock bit at a time 😜
