Tefal has asked us to find 30 Mumsnetters with at least one child over the age of 2 to test the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me (RRP £269.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

If selected, you’ll need to test Cook4Me as a part of your normal routine for 2 weeks and give feedback on a thread as well as completing a short survey. All who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Do you think it's worth reducing the amount of stock on my risotto later then?

JamesDelayneysTattoos · 30/06/2017 18:24

shelagh I've just made the pea and mint risotto and it was too dry so I wouldn't reduce the liquid if I was you.

YogiYoni · 30/06/2017 18:29

I still like the machine, but the butternut squash risotto was very bland. I hope the other recipes are better.

Ulysses · 30/06/2017 18:48

My butternut squash risotto is cooking now. I'd probably have it with white wine, chicken and sage as well for a more authentic version. I've done it all quite quickly as I'm just eager to use it plus I'm really tired after a hectic week. I've kind of forced myself to use it but this is exactly what I was looking for. I've chopped a pack of leeks, put the rest in the freezer and bought prepared butternut squash as well. The rest of the ingredients I've had to hand as well. Well feedback on the taste test in a bit!

Welshmaenad · 30/06/2017 18:56

Mine still isn't here, I am desperate to play with it! Sad

PyongyangKipperbang · 30/06/2017 19:05

I found the preheating to be annoying too, its not really cooking in 3 minutes if it takes 8 minutes to heat up and is partially cooking the food in that time!

Ulysses · 30/06/2017 19:10

My risotto is really nice and DD11 agrees. It's a lovely creamy consituency. My first impressions are really positive though I was a bit confused at some of the instructions. It said brown rice and leeks etc for two minutes and then add liquid. I was expecting an alarm for these but don't think any were given. Might just be me though - in my defence it's been a long week!

As a gadget it is big so I am leaving it out on the worktop but I don't think it's very stylish. Sorry Tefal. What I am looking forward to it though is allowing the left overs to cool and then bunging the cooking bit in the dishwasher and that's that for tidying up.

Will have a perusal at the recipes to see what I can find tomorrow.

ShelaghTurner · 30/06/2017 19:10

Thanks James. I'll stick to the recipe for now then. Just about to get started!

Ulysses · 30/06/2017 19:14

Oops there's another thread now so will move over to that one.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 30/06/2017 19:20

I'm on my 3rd attempt which is 6 waiting time to heat up whilst making the bacon and leek risotto. It keeps saying after heating for ages that the water level is too low even though I've now added double the amount of stock that the recipe required?

Please don't say I'm meant to add water some where else apart from in the cooking pot, I've read the instructions, promise!

CantStandMeow · 30/06/2017 20:53

We had bacon and leek risotto, followed the instructions exactly and it came out beautifully. Did you get yours sorted DMDSMT?

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 30/06/2017 21:45

Cant it was user error and our risotto was a hit and tasted lovely in the end even though it took an hour from start to finish.

I've found the demo function so I can note down weights etc before running the cooking session which will stop me trying to take it back and freaking the poor cook4me out.

I've joined a couple of FB pages and I'm going to attemp fake away kebab tomorrow night... 25 minutes instead of 4 hours in the slow cooker crosses fingers served with tazziki, pitta breads and salad.

YogiYoni · 30/06/2017 21:51

Just about to swap threads, but before I do, what's the name of the FB groups you're on DontSteal ?

(I almost called you DailyMail, but realised you might be offended by that!)

PurpleCrazyHorse · 01/07/2017 08:06

I'm on the Loving the Tefal Cook4Me and Tefal 45 in 1 and Tefal Cook4Me Community. One is mostly Australian (can't remember which) and the first one has been really helpful.

Just after more recipe ideas and tips to get the most out of it. I'm hoping to replace my broken slow cooker with it, so want to see how my usual slow cooker recipes work out.
