Non-Tester

My biggest issue is dullness, I would just love to have radiant, glowing skin!

duggerlugs · 06/06/2017 18:49

Non tester - I'm currently experiencing little white spots building up on forehead plus random parts of face and oiliness. Just started back at work after a few years too so wrinkles creeping in.

Cailin7 · 06/06/2017 19:12

My main facial skin issue is uneven skin tone and the occasional hormonal spots

CheeseAtFourpence · 06/06/2017 20:14

Tester here - after over a week of use....

Cleanse & Polish™
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™?

Yes - I loved it. Preferred to use it as a double cleanse after my ordinary cleanser as wasn't keen on all the makeup on the cloth and felt that way my skin was gleaming. Loved the fragrance, consistency and how my face looked.

Yes - absolutely. I will be buying this again.

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser?

I liked the initial feel and my skin absorbed it well. I would prefer this as a night moisturiser as I like a SPF in my day moisturiser. The smell grew on me after a few uses too. The consistency is good - a little goes a long way and it felt luxurious. I think it's better for a drier skin. I did get a breakout - but that could be hormones!

Yes if they had dry skin.

My biggest facial skin issue is bags under my eyes.

DillieDoily · 06/06/2017 23:04

Thank you very much for letting me test these products - I was super excited to be selected!

Your first impressions

Are you a Liz Earle beauty fan already?I'm familiar with the name but hadn't ever tried them

What’s your regular skincare routine?
AM: Origins cleanser in the shower then origins perfect world serum and moisturiser, then make up
PM: garner Micellar water to remove make up, origins perfect world cleanser or Emma Hardie Moringa cleansing balm, Origins Nightamins night cream or Drink Up overnight mask. Use Alpha A Liquid Gold twice a week

I'm in my late 30s and my skin type is dry-normal

On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc?

I liked the packaging of the Cleanse & Polish with the smart bag and two good quality muslin cloths. I liked the smell and the thick creamy texture felt very luxurious.

I don't love the Superskin Moisturiser with Natural Neroli. I'm not keen on the smell and it felt too thick and rich for my skin- more like a night cream than a daily moisturiser. It seems very expensive too.

Cleanse & Polish™
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™? Please describe Yes my skin felt much more thoroughly cleansed, gently exfoliated and softer than usual - Cleanse and Polish is a good description!

I feel this product is just too rich to use as a daytime moisturiser and I have fairly dry skin - I didn't feel it absorbed fast or well enough in the mornings to put make up over the top. Maybe I just don't have the right skin type as it says it is suitable for mature or very dry skin. I'm late 30s so definitely no spring chicken but maybe more suited for slightly older skin

Would you recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to your friends? No, I prefer my usual Origins moisturisers - they absorb better and smell better!

Tortycat · 06/06/2017 23:25

Non tester - biggest issue for me is dullness. I think age and lack of sleep (2 small dc) has caught up with me and my skin just looks dull and lifeless.

31weeksgone · 07/06/2017 00:53

Non-tester here. My biggest problem is still spots and blemishes, 22 years old and they still haven't gone away.

Stephgr8 · 07/06/2017 03:37

non-tester - I am struggling with pimples and breakouts whilst also having to face the appearance of fine lines and crow's feet. Can't bear it!

The biggest issue I have is that I get dry patches as well as oily ones.
So, I moisturise the dry areas more. It mostly works.

asuwere · 07/06/2017 07:58

Non-tester: my biggest issue is hormonal spots. I get one every month and every month I poke, squeeze and pick it, making it last longer than if I'd left it alone. So, really, my biggest problem is me! Blush

Cleanse & Polish™
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™?
Yes. The cleanser was light, easy to use and did not leave my skin feeling squeaky as some harsher cleansers do. I loved the cloths that came with it and the pouch was really handy.

A natural product that works
4/5

Suitable for all skin types
4/5 I have a classic t-zone and also dry areas on my forehead and chin. This product did seem to work on all my face so I was very impressed with it.

Simple to use
It was very simple to use. The cloth and bag made storing it easier. I loved the smell and the pump was easy. I travelled with this product and the packaging was sturdy and reliable.

Would you recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to your friends?
Absolutely. It smelt great, worked on my skin combo, was easy to use, easy to store, easy to transport, and most of all left my face feeling cleaner and softer than it has in a long while.

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli

Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser?
The product smelt fab, it was light yet not watery, it left my skin moisturised and soft. My DH commented that the smell was lovely. I think he preferred it to my usual Neal's Yard face cream.

A natural product that works
4/5 This product was lovely. My skin feels softer and I have less redness around my nose and chin.

Suitable for all skin types
4/5 Again I can only comment on my skin type but it has left my face softer and smoother. I even used it on holiday and it dealt with the dryness that can sometimes occur when sitting in the sun.

Simple to use
5/5 I love pots of cream. They are preferable to me than pumps as I get so annoyed with I cannot get the last of the cream out. It looks lovely sitting on my dressing table.

Would you recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to your friends?
Absolutely. I have never before really considered Liz Earle but I will definitely be exploring their product range further. The moisturiser was light yet gave excellent coverage and really did soften up my dry bits.

Overall I loved these products. Thank you Mumsnet for the chance to test them. I will be purchasing replacements when they run out.

Non tester - my biggest issue is my large pores.

Flossie71 · 07/06/2017 12:54

My biggest skin issue is getting a shiny face, I have to carry blotting papers to fix this regularly!

suzieowens1 · 07/06/2017 12:58

Non tester. My biggest skincare challenge is brown patches of skin on my face after pregnancy. Its a struggle to find a regime that isnt to time consuming or expensive. I need to use sunblock, moisturizers, cleanser and foundation to try to cover and halt the patches.

First impressions:
Surprise! I had signed up for this but not had an email telling me I was accepted and so I was a bit bemused to begin with. Then it clicked and I was chuffed.
I have never used Liz Earle before but have been tempted. The reason I haven't used it is because I currently use Dermalogica and took years to find something that worked, so was loath to spend a lot of money on something I didn't know would be as good or better.

I usually wash my face with a Dermalogica face wash then tone and moisturise. I occasionally use a face mask. My main skin issues are having combination skin, a history of acne that still occasionally flares up and very large pores on my forehead/nose and chin.

I liked the packaging. It was simple but elegant and looked like it meant business. The first smell of the cleaner matched my expectations! I liked having the little case and cloths. The cream looked luxurious when I put it on my finger but smelled quite potent to me. I would usually avoid something scented just because it makes me wary of whether my skin will have a break out.

Cleanse & Polish™
The instant results were a really nice feeling skin. It was soft, clean and not tight. However, it didn't quite remove my eye make up enough and I didn't want to scrub at the eye area too hard. It means I would also need an eye make up remover as a back up which I don't currently need.

After a week, my skin remained fresh, soft and clean feeling. There was no breakout and I felt like my skin was brighter. My pores weren't any smaller but I didn't feel like they were trapping so much every day gunk.

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
The moisturiser felt pretty luxurious to put on my skin and did settle in a lot more quickly than I expected. I was still a little nervous about the oil base and actually felt that my make up didn't sit over it as well as my current Dermalogica moisturiser. However, I would definitely continue using it as a night moisturiser or when my skin needs a boost.

The biggest problem I have with my skin is that, no matter what I do, I have very visible pores. I can cleanse, tone, apply face masks, exfoliate, steam until I'm blue in the face (apologies for the metaphor!) but nothing ever seems to make a difference Sad

Many thanks for picking me to test these items!

Your first impressions: are you a Liz Earle beauty fan already?
I had heard of the legendary Cleanse & Polish, but never tried it.

What’s your regular skincare routine?
A bit haphazard tbh! I am in my 40s and a mum of 5, youngest 13months old, and my skin is pretty neglected. I usually use an Origins face wash in the morning, sometimes either a Neal's Yard or a Superdrug serum, then some sort of moisturiser with SPF. I have combination skin, that's dull and dehydrated. I know I should, but I don't really have a night-time routine (unless I've been wearing make-up, which is rarely).

On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc?
I loved the packaging - it looks like a nice, premium product, but not overly pretentious! I especially liked the bag the cleanser & muslins came in, and also the pump bottle for the cleanser - it's more practical when in use - no faffing about trying to get lids on & off with wet hands covered in cleanser! I loved the smell of the cleanser (slightly "medicated" - in a good way!, but nice), and also the texture - creamy without being too thick. I also appreciated the in depth instructions on how to hot cloth cleanse!

The moisturiser - again, a nice, premium looking product, although I'm not too keen on moisturisers in jars - they're not very hygienic and can spoil once exposed to air, so would have preferred a tube or pump bottle. The texture was nice & thick, how I would expect a premium moisturiser to feel, but the smell was very disappointing. The product is described as "moisturiser with natural neroli", so I was expecting a fresh, natural, orangey neroli scent, but oh my goodness it stinks! It smells very strongly of flaxseed oil, almost a slight whiff of something fishy, and definitely no neroli at all! I was most disappointed in this, and actually think it's quite disingineous to put the neroli on the label as if this is one of the main scents. I had so been looking forward to using the moisturiser as well, so was very disappointed in this aspect.

Cleanse & Polish™
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™? Please describe:

Yes, my skin instantly felt really clean & soft, with none of the tightness usually associated with a thorough cleanse! It definitely felt much healthier too, and I felt as if I had a nice "glow"!

A natural product that works 4 (it is excellent, but not sure exactly how "natural" it actually is)
Suitable for all skin types 4 (I would say this would suit most skin types, although would possibly be wary if you have particularly sensitive skin due to the essential oils, and all the rubbing with hot water may irritate if you are prone to sensitivity, but otherwise it's fab!)
Simple to use 5

Would you recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to your friends? Yes!

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser? Please describe No, I actually found that this moisturiser was far too rich for my combination skin. The moisturiser was very thick & oily, and after application I was very much aware of an oily film on my skin. A few hours later it still didn't feel as if it had sunk in. In the morning my skin did feel better, but it was very oily and I couldn't wait to wash my face! I had to stop using after a few nights as I could feel some spots developing :(

Please award how many [stars] out of five (where 5 is excellent and 1 is very poor) for each of the below:
A natural product that works 3
Suitable for all skin types 1 (I would say this is suitable only for very dry skin types)
Simple to use 5 - it's a moisturiser - what's difficult about that?!

Would you recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to your friends? Only if they had very dry skin, and didn't mind the awful smell!

So, thanks for the opportunity to test these. I love the Cleanse & Polish, and am definitely a convert! My skin looks much better & feels lovely & soft, and I do feel like I am "doing some good" when I cleanse with it, so shall stick with this from now on! The moisturiser on the other hand was a disappointment. It was far too rich for my combination skin, although it is described as being for dry & mature skin, so may be better suited to people with that type of skin. The smell was also a great disappointment to me, but again, some other people seem to love it, so it's obviously a personal preference. I would be interested in seeing if Liz Earle had a moisturiser suitable for oily / combination skin to try (though would be wary of the smell!).

Thanks again!

Your first impressions: are you a Liz Earle beauty fan already? What’s your regular skincare routine? On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc?

I didn't get a proper look at the packaging, sadly mine was delivered very much damaged, but I loved the smell, the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I was a little concerned that the moisturiser would be too heavy. I really liked being supplied with two clothes as one can be washed while you use the other. My regular routine typically was a face wash in the morning, followed by SPF moisturiser, and then a cleanse, tone and night cream in the evening

I wouldn't say I noticed instant results, I had rather bad spots for the first couple of days, but I was due AF so that's more than likely related to that, but I did notice my skin felt clean, but not stripped bare or left oily so I was pleasantly surprised.

My biggest issue is dark skin under my eyes. Not aided by lack of sleep but I think the skin there is just dark anyway. I end up using make up 'highlighter' pens when possible but don't wear make up daily normally. I try eye cream to keep the skin hydrated but still look a bit dark and sad in the eyes sometimes!

I have acne rosacea & I hate it! I always thought I would stop getting spots at some stage in my life - but it appears that is not going to happen! The joy of rosacea is that you have intense redness too, &, to top it all off - it hurts!!
I've tried everything.. changing my diet, long-term course of antibiotics, various creams, gels & lotions, Chinese herbal medicines, the Sher System (cost a bomb & did nothing!) & a course of IPL.
I'm still on the lookout for anything which might improve the health & condition of my skin.
