Non-Tester.

My biggest facial skin issue - it's hard to choose from the many issues but I would say the hormonal acne spots I get on my chin area. Looking back through photos I don't think there is a single time in the last 7 years I didn't have some type of spot on my chin. I do find good skin care helps them clear up quicker but I know that skin care alone won't stop them appearing because it's a hormone thing.

(Large pores would be a close second)

Tester here. I have heard of Liz Earle and been meaning to try it, but don't really take enough time over my evening cleansing, and can't be bothered with a complex routine - I generally just quickly go over my face with a cleaning wipe or micellar water on a cotton bud at night, followed by moisturiser if I am being good. I use serum and then light moisturiser in the morning. At the moment Clarins serum and Estée Lauder day wear moisturiser, but I also like Dr Organic snail serum and Clarins multi active day cream.

First impressions: I really liked the smart packaging for the cleanse and polish, especially the travel bag. and was pleased that it came with 2 cloths. I was impressed by the smell and texture. I expected it to be chalky, like a face mask, but it was really creamy. I was also pleased that there was no need to leave the cream on for any length of time and found the process almost as quick as my usually lazy wipe around with a cleansing wipe! The pump dispenser was really clean and easy to use, compared to a tube or bottle. Results were much better than wipes, it cleaned off all my make up and left my face feeling really soft, my skin didn't feel tight or in need of a moisturiser after cleansing.

I wasn't so impressed with the moisturiser - I wasn't keen on the strong smell and thought the plastic pot looked a bit cheap compared to other products at that price point. The moisturiser was a bit rich for my combination skin.

After a few days of use, I developed a few large spots on my chin, which I was not too happy with. I think it was due to the moisturiser, which didn't really agree with me. Having said that, I have had the same issue When I first startled using Clarins moisturiser, which calmed down once my skin adjusted to it, but to be honest I didn't like the smell or texture of the moisturiser enough to persevere with it.

I noticed good results with cleanse & polish, and will keep using it. I like the fact that it cleans my skin quickly and effectively but is gentle and leaves my skin feeling soft and exfoliated without drying.

Cleanse & Polish™
Would rate it a 5 stars for all the categories below and will recommend it to others.

I would give the superskin moisturiser a high rating for easy to use (it's a moisturiser - there's nothing difficult about it!) but low star rating for suitable for all skin types, as it didn't suit my combination skin. I might give it another go in the winter when my skin is drier and needs extra moisture. I wouldn't recommend it to others at this stage, unless they had very dry skin.

Tester here:

Always contemplated trying the cleanse & polish but opted for the cheaper versions under the impression they were the same.

First impressions: liked the packaging for both products and liked the bag the cleanser came in and that it came with 2 cloths so could use one/wash one.

After some use of the cleanser I noticed some spots on my chin and considered stopping, but carried on and they cleared up and haven't come back. The pump makes it clean and easy to use and it takes my makeup off with ease. The only thing I need to do is wash my mascara off a bit with water (so I have panda eyes) and then the cleanser takes it all off. It does seem to struggle if I go straight in on mascara. My skin is clean and fresh after and doesn't feel tight, like it often does with other products.

I loved the moisturiser from the start. The smell is clearly marmite from other comments from testers but I really liked it and felt relaxed before bed. I didn't need to apply it again in the morning and it left a great base for makeup.

Haven't found any negatives, although they are more pricey than my usual face care.

Your first impressions
I've never tried any Liz Earle products before, though I had heard of them and always thought of them as a premium/quality brand.
Previously I use a gentle facewash and No7 Perfectly Balanced moisturiser in the morning, and a La Roche Posay cleanser in the evening followed by jojoba oil.
I like the packaging. The bag and muslins were handy (though two is not enough). The moisturiser packaging in particular has a premium feel to it. The instructions for both were clear.
I love the texture and smell of both products! The cleanser does have a slight smell of shoe polish about it (sorry!) which I actually really like. And the moisturiser has a lovely smell, natural and a bit exotic.

Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™?
Fairly instant yes. I found it good at removing make-up and grime, but ended up just using it in the evenings as I don't feel it's necessary in the morning as a light facewash in the shower is enough for me. It leaves my skin lovely and smooth afterwards, though slightly cloying, so I did start to rinse with my light facewash afterwards, and then it felt perfect.
It feels quite indulgent massaging it in and removing it with the cloth, like a little ritual Grin

Would you recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to your friends?
Yes I would. I think it's reasonably priced.

Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser?
Yes! I didn't really get on with it as a daytime moisturiser. As it has no spf I had to add this on top, and that followed by make up just felt a bit clogging and shiny (maybe this is because I am at the lower end of the age bracket it's aimed at?). But I love love love it as an overnight moisturiser. I'd started the first hints of crows feet and lines around my mouth and these have gone (for now!), as has all my dry skin. It feel nourishing and indulgent .

TESTER
First impressions:
I haven't used Liz Earle before. It had been wanting to try their products and have become disillusioned with my usual brand. I am used to looking after my skin but haven't tried a hot cloth cleaner before.

I am in my mid-late 30s and have normal/combination skin.

When I received the products, I thought the packaging was pleasant and liked the bag with the cleanser- useful for going away. I liked the herbal smell of the cleanser. It was useful to have two cloths.

The moisturiser's packaging was fine. I agree with some of the other others that the container doesn't look as high end. Some have commented on the smell being unpleasant by I really like it.

Cleanse & Polish™

This made my skin feel lovely and soft straight away. I was worried it would make my skin greasy but didn't. I'm not sure how it would work on someone with very oily skin. I like that it's a natural product. It is very easy to use and the cloths help to remove all traces of the product.

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
The moisturiser was nice to put on but then didn't sink in as well as I would have liked. I am a bit torn with it, as it made my skin lovely and soft but I developed a break out of spots after using it for a few days. However, it made my skin noticeably soft and glowing. This is very unusual for me! I had to stop using it in the day and use it as a night cream which works better. I'd like to try the oil free version of this cream.

Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™? Please describe

My skin certainly felt refreshed and rehydrated following first use of the cleanse and polish. Over the days that I have been using the product my skin has improved in balance (especially around my oil slick t-zone!) and general appearance.

Suitable for all skin types 5/5 (my skin is oily / combination)
Simple to use 4/5 (the combination of cleanser plus hot cloth towel isn't an instant process as I found the towel did need to be rinsed out well with warm water between 'wipes' to remove the cleanser, but I actually have come to love this ritual!

Definitely - have already done so! Grin

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser? Please describe

This moisturiser is such an intense, rich cream - for my oily / combination skin type I could not use it during the day (as it made my skin far too shiny!). Instead, I used it as a night cream which worked far better. In conjunction with the hot cloth cleanser, it did make my skin feel smooth, supple and moisturised, removing the feeling of tight skin (and dry patches thereafter) that I used to get after washing my face at night. A little does a long way - I can see this sample pot lasting ages!

One downside (on a personal note) is that I am not a huge fan of the scent (sorry Liz Earle!). I don't get a strong, floral neroli scent but rather something more herbal and medicinal. This doesn't detract from the efficacy of the moisturiser, but it isn't a delicious, sumptuous scent to me. Blush

I have been so impressed by Liz Earle that I have since purchased the 'light' day moisturiser (for oily skin) which I now use every day as part of my routine - this has a lovely clean scent!

And here are my initial thoughts for comparison (a few days after receiving the product):

Firstly, lovely packaging and beautiful crisp muslin face clothes (love the l'eau de Nile colour!).

The cleanser was super easy to apply, with minimal wastage. The cream is a lovely thick texture, the colour of pale clotted cream, and applies smoothly and evenly with no lumps and no greasy feel. The smell is just heavenly - really fresh and natural, it is so invigorating!

I ran one of the muslin clothes under hand-hot water and wrung out before using. The cloth has a nice, dense weave which meant that every sweep did effectively swipe the cream off my face in one go. No need for scrubbing or agitating my poor skin! The cream rinsed off the cloth really easily under warm water, so the cleansing process was super quick. My skin felt sparkling after cleansing and just wonderfully fresh, it felt like such a treat!

Onto the moisturiser... first thoughts, packaging was beautiful and felt really 'high end' and a premium product. The texture is lovely - not watery, but not as thick as the cleanser - nice soft peaks and it didn't feel greasy to the touch.

However, the scent was a little overpowering at first use! Very 'herbal' of borage and very strong. That said, the cream did apply very easily (a little goes a long way) and sank in brilliantly. My skin felt revitalised and fresh, with no dry or greasy patches when I woke up.

Tester here...
I'd never tried Liz Earle stuff before and my first impressions were how lovely it looked and smelled. The packaging is stylish and does make it feel like a premium product.
I like a decent face cream and normally use Boots Perfect and Protect Night and Day cream. Cleansing wise I'm pretty lazy and since having children my routine is pretty simple and involves a quick wipe over with a facial wipe.
I've been using the cleanser and moisturisers for a few weeks and have been really impressed by both.
Due to my time-saving slovenliness I did wonder whether the hot cloth cleanser would seem like a bit a faff and too time consuming, especially at the end of a long day. It's well worth it though and my face feels really clean after it. I can see why it's called 'Cleanse and Polish' as I did feel polished but it's not abrasive at all. It works really well and the fact that it's all natural made me a lot more comfortable about using it on my face.
I'd happily recommend it and my skin looked brighter for using it, 5 stars all round.
The Superskin Moisturiser smells lovely, and is a great texture. I'm prone to dry skin and it was rich enough without feeling oily. I thought my skin felt softer and looked a little better after using it and would happily recommend and give it full marks.
I think the only drawback from me buying these normally would be the price but having tried them I think it may be worth paying a bit more to get something of this quality that feels so nice on my skin.

First impressions:
I've not used Liz Earle products before and was excited to give them a go. I usually use Origins products. When I opened the parcel (what was left of the packaging!) I was very impressed by the look of the products. The little bag is lovely, and very handy indeed for making sure I take it away with me so I don't neglect my skin on holiday etc! Unfortunately it was really quite scuffed and marked in the post. I really like the yellow/orange on the inside of the moisturiser box, which just made it feel a little different and more "special". I think the Ultimate Cleansing and Make Up Removal Guide is great and saved me squinting at the tiny writing on the back of the bottle.

Cleanse & Polish™:
I'm pretty sure my skin had looked better since using Cleanse & Polish™, right from day 1.

A natural product that works - five stars
Suitable for all skin types - five stars
Simple to use - four stars

I would definitely recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to my friends (and have).

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli:
Unlike other testers I really like the smell of the moisturiser. My skin looks and feels lovely, but I've had to use it at night as I find it leaves my skin really quite greasy and sticky (I put it on well over half an hour ago and my cheeks are still sticky). Also it doesn't have an SPF, which is important for me.

A natural product that works - 5 stars
Suitable for all skin types - I don't think it's really meant for all skin types is it? 5 stars for the "mature or very dry skin" mentioned on the box
Simple to use - four stars (as it stays sticky for quite a while so couldn't put make up on top)

I would recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to my friends as a nighttime cream.

My biggest facial issue is a combination of spots, which last for ages, and dry skin. I really suffered with acne when I was in my teens/20s, and so I still think of myself as having bad skin, even though I don't really. Enlarged pores too which make me think I have blackheads even though I haven't.

Have never used Liz Earle before as I do t usually spend thsyt much on products however I wanted to try a more expensive brand as I'm getting older and thinking maybe more expensive brands are worth investing in. I have oily skin which doesn't tend to break out.

First impressions of the cleanse and polish were positive. I liked the colour of the packaging, and appreciuatrd two cloths with a handy bag in which to store them.
Very easy to use 5/5

My skin felt soft to the touch straight away and didn't dry it out or cause it to break out
Also felt clean with visible makeup removed on the cloth 5/5
Suitable for my oily skin yes 5/5

I wasn't so keen on the moisturiser, primarily it's rather over powering smell. It was quite rich for my skin as a day cream and left it looking shiny so I used it as a night cream instead. Felt nice on the skin but didntg notice any visible benefited.
Easy to use 5/5
Not that suitable for my oily skin as a day cream 2/5
Didn't notice any skin improvement but didn't notice any problems it caused 3/5

My biggest facial issue is that I have very sensitive skin also quite dry. The advantage is that I never really had any problems with spots as a teenager but all sorts of things - soaps, cleansers, make-up etc can cause irritation.
