Your first impressions: are you a Liz Earle beauty fan already? What’s your regular skincare routine? On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc?

No, I've never used Liz Earle products before. My regular skincare routine isn't all that great to be honest. I wash my face with a face wash/scrub in the evening before bed. I use a bit of Nivea moisturiser morning and night and that's about it!

My initial thoughts on the Liz Earle products were very favourable. It's all nicely packaged and I like the little bag for the cleanser and cloths. The moisturiser looks expensive and luxurious. The instructions were nice and clear. I was really pleased with it all.
The only negative was the smell of the moisturiser. I have to say I'm not all that keen - smells a bit medicinal somehow!

Non Tester here, I continue to suffer from milia, I wear glasses and they appear just under the lower rim of the lenses. Then they just stay there for ages!

Beautiful packaging. I've heard of Liz Earle products but could never justify the cost, so I was ecstatic to be chosen.

What’s your regular skincare routine? On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc?
I usually use an Olay facewash and cleanse with Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water. I use Olay Essentials Beauty Fluid as a moisturiser.

I thought the products looked very high end and expensive. I loved the packaging - a great colour and very sleek looking. I loved the cloths that came with the Cleanse & Polish. The moisturiser pot was great but I thought the smell was a little overpowering but got used it after a few uses. The instructions were very simple, clear and easy to follow.

The moisturiser feels lovely on my skin - it gives it a smooth velvety texture. It applies well and absorbs into the skin quickly. It gives my face a lovely glow. I am definitely buying this again - it is worth the extra money.

Thank you to Mumsnet and Liz Earle for letting try these products.

Non-tester. The biggest issue I have with my skin is that I still suffer with hormonal acne. My skincare needs to be effective, but also needs to not block my pores. Ideally I like my skin to be cleaned buy not tight after cleansing.

BlackbirdSingsInTheDeadOfNight · 05/06/2017 13:00

Non-tester (sadly!). My skin gets very dry and often feels 'tight' and uncomfortable. I'm sure some Liz Earle freebies would work wonders though.... Wink

mo3733 · 05/06/2017 13:58

sun damage and dry skin are my biggest issues and a challenge to deal with

PurpleCrazyHorse · 05/06/2017 15:39

My biggest facial issue is dry skin and obvious pores on my nose. I have to scrub with a flannel to get the flakes off then use a decent coverage foundation to cover up the pores.

My biggest skin issue is dry and sensitive skin. I love Liz Earle cleansing cream and hot cloth but struggle to find a moisturiser that produces good results that I love

My biggest issue is spots on my jawline, they are worse than when I was a teenager!

honeyandginger48 · 05/06/2017 19:39

I have always had very greasy skin and my face is constantly shiny. This is made worse as I have to use a very high SPF moisturiser in summer as I'm developing age spots too.

I am desperate to try this - to make do so far I've just stuck with buying 7 face cloths from Wilko and use one each day with hot water and my face wash - but I'm sure it's not the same!!

FoodstuffFinds · 05/06/2017 20:19

My biggest issue is my sensitivity to the sun. Loads of companies are taking their SPF out of moisturisers and make-up as it shows up pale on selfies, but my facial skin goes bright pink in the sun so I can't win. :-(

My biggest issue is combination skin and dark circles round my eyes. I cant find a brand I like that works for my skin type

kitykat1979 · 05/06/2017 21:37

Non-Tester I am currently going through hormonal acne, large red angry spots under my chin and no matter what I do nothing makes them any better.

mave · 05/06/2017 22:13

Non tester: I get very dry skin especially during winter. I also have sensitive skin and patches of red areas unfortunately

gemmie797 · 05/06/2017 23:03

My biggest facial problem is spots. I didn't think I would still be getting them at 38, but I still get blemishes. I'd love to find a reliable cleansing product to solve it

curcur · 05/06/2017 23:10

Tester here - first impressions were good, the packaging was simple and elegant. I think the bag to put the cloths in was a bit OTT but I'm not keen on excessive packaging and something to expect on thus type I'd luxury product. I love the cleanse and polish name as it sounds like a salon treatment. I have not used Liz Earle products before. Usually use boots time delay products.

Cleanse and polish - eucalyptus smell of the cleanser was delicious, I had reservations regarding using it near my eyes but this wasn't an issue and I cleaned my eye make up with it. Worked well as a cleanser and the muslin clothes were soft and worked well. Much easier than using separate cleanser/toner. I would give it a 5 for all. I loved this and would recommend for all skin types and buy it again for myself. My skin definitely improved overnight.

Moisturiser - I initially thought that the cream was more of a night cream as it was so rich and for the first few days only used it at night due to this. It feels lovely and I noticed the smoothness of my skin immediately. When I tried it during the day, it worked well under make up which I really wasn't expecting. It was not in any way greasy and once I got used to it felt quite light. However, I really didn't like the smell, kind of wheatgerm! I would give the product a 5 for all parts as it really has made my skin softer and despite the smell, I would buy this.

To summaruse, my initial reactions was the cleanse and polish was fab and very much a luxury, salony product but I didn't like the moisturise as much due to the smell and richness. But after use, the moisturiser has converted me and I love it as my skin feels so soft.

At the age of 41 I still get spots - was really hoping I'd have grown out of them by now!

I am pretty lucky with my skin but developed melasma in pregnancy, which has remained. It doesn'the bother me too much. I love natural products that smell nice. Smile

Your first impressions: Are you a Liz Earle beauty fan already?

-I’m new to Liz Earle, so was delighted at the opportunity to test these products.

What’s your regular skincare routine?
-Before receiving the products, I was using a cheap and cheerful foaming cleanser (Waitrose Pure), a Decleor oil serum and Decleor moisturiser. Thanks to MN I recently (past few months) included the odd glycolic pad too (Nip + Fab).

On the products sent - what are your initial thoughts on the packaging, textures, instructions, smell etc? I already posted similar on the initial thread, but here goes: The packaging was pleasing on both. The scent and the texture for the Cleanse and Polish were very pleasant; both slightly unusual for a cleanser but enjoyable to apply. However – I did not get on with the muslin cloth, which I found fiddly, messy and largely ineffective at dealing with my full coverage foundation. I had to repeat the C&P process before I felt my face was clean by which point it felt like a bit of a chore – and I needed a toner afterwards.

The moisturiser was a disappointment in terms of the smell. I was hoping for an aromatherapy-type experience but was met with a smell that put me in mind of ageing oil products. Having said that, I have found the smell increasingly tolerable (only tolerable, mind you) as I discovered that the actual action of the moisturiser is excellent. I’m very happy with the effect – the thing which makes me hesitate to buy again is the scent, which is of huge importance to me in my beauty routine.

Cleanse & Polish™
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Cleanse & Polish™? Please describe
The most instant result I noticed with the C&P was how sensitised my skin was by the time it had effectively removed my makeup. However, it did not ever give that taut feeling that some cleansers do, which is a plus.
In a nutshell, I found it a monumental faff. The Cleanse & Polish was MUCH nicer to use in the morning (on skin cleansed the night before, naturally) than in the evening to take off makeup. The minging sight of the makeup-smeared cloths in my laundry basket gave me pause, too. Also: I found it bad for the eco-warrior in me that I was obliged to run the tap until hand-hot prior to wringing out the cloth, too. All in all: pleasant and easy to use under the morning shower; a massive pain in the evening.

To be honest: no, for the faff-factor. 2 stars **

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
Would you say you noticed instant results with the Superskin™ Moisturiser? Please describe Actually, yes. Once I was over the rather unpleasant smell, the texture and application of the moisturiser was lovely. My skin drank it in and it was excellent on my neck. It also made an excellent base for makeup. I found it equally pleasant morning and night, however, I was obliged to apply SPF during the day over the top (used La Roche Posay).

Would you recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to your friends?* for the actual effect, but docked two stars for the faintly unpleasant flax-seedy, on-the-turn oil smell which for me is a huge factor in choosing skincare.

First impressions
I'm not a user of Liz Earle products and have a very simple skincare routine using cleansing gel and moisturiser. Initial thoughts on the packaging were very positive, I like the face cloth bag which is great for travelling and storing in between use. The instructions were clear and simple. I absolutely loved the smell.

I have been using these products over the last week and have found it easy to keep to the routine, easy and a pleasure to use for a person like me who is very limited in time and patience when it comes to a beauty routine!

Cleanse & Polish™? Felt very cleansing and seemed to work very well with the cloth. My skin felt thoroughly clean and revived but the product didn't seem drying, which was the thing I was most concerned about.

A natural product that works - yes I'd give 5 stars
Suitable for all skin types - it was suitable for my skin, I can't speak for others
Simple to use - very simple, 5 stars

Yes I would recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to my friends if they enquired

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
I noticed the Superskin™ Moisturiser was easily absorbed, really lovely texture on my skin and very nice to use.

A natural product that works - yes it worked for me so 5 stars
Suitable for all skin types - yes it worked for me but can't speak for other skin types
Simple to use - yes 5 stars here

I would recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to my friends if asked. I particularly like the delicious smell, the easy absorption and my skin didn't feel oily afterwards. I would say though that I would probably use this moisturiser at night rather than the daytime, as I personally like a daytime moisturiser that contains an SPF.

Thank you for the opportunity to test this product, I'm really enjoying using it.

7flipper7 · 06/06/2017 11:32

Non-tester - I have large pores and sensitive skin. I have used Liz Earle before and it leaves my skin feeling very soft and silky.

wesleybear83 · 06/06/2017 13:23

My biggest issue is achey I am 33 and still suffer with spots it really gets me down

Hopezibah · 06/06/2017 14:06

non-tester. My biggest facial skincare issue is the combination skin I have - leaving big greasy pores on my nose and yet dry skin on my cheeks. I don't want to be using masses of difference products so hard to find things suitable.
