• What was your favourite thing about using Ecover Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? I am always a bit skeptical of trying out new products for my son as his skin is really sensitive but I must admit I have heard good things said about the Ecover brand so that put my mind at ease. I liked how clean and fresh the laundry came out of the wash even at 30 degrees.
• What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? I had a very low bar and wished I had put a lot more in the wash to test it as there was absolutely nothing to worry about. It performed great caring for the clothes, living them clean & gentle too.
• Are you a new convert to Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? Yes I am - will definitely be looking out for these in store.

My favourite thing was that you just added the liquid and away you went, easy peasey.
I was surprised how clean things were when they came out of the wash.
I would use it again if it's on offer in the supermarket

Loved the smell. It is so fresh. I've used ecover for years but this new scent is my favourite.

It leaves clothes very soft and fresh. It also gets stains out - with a 5 month old and a 3 year old, that's very important!

• What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? Again the fresh smell was lovely. I wasn't expecting it without adding another product.

I thought it smelt lovely and left my washing really soft. I like the fact it's better for the environment. I usually use powder so the fact it was such a tiny bottle was good!

For non bio it got rid of most of the stains. I have 3 children and sometimes I can struggle to get stains out. I think it worked almost as well as my usual brand. I also didn't have to use tons to get the washing clean.

• Are you a new convert to Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?

I'd definitely buy it again but it would depend on the price. I do at least one load of washing a day and sometimes up to 4 so it would depend how much more expensive it worked out.

It smelled lovely, quite a strong but not chemically smell and I would get wafts of the scent off my children's clothing during the day.

I expected it to be not very good, mainly because being a more natural and eco friendly product, I thought it would maybe leave things a bit rough and not clean very well. I was very pleasantly surprised! It cleaned really well ( I haven't had to rewash any items with stain remover etc) and left things as soft as my regular detergent, even my towels.

Yes definitely as long as the price isn't too bad :)

• What was your favourite thing about using Ecover Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?

The smell. I just didn't expect it to smell so lovely. It wasn't overpowering or too chemically. I would just catch it now and again for example when opening the washing machine or hanging the washing out. I'm going to cheat and choose another thing. I loved the viscosity of the liquid. I have since realised that my normal liquid is thicker than this one and the e cover is so much easier to pour and dose.

How clean my clothes came out. I normally use a bio detergent as I thought a non bio product would 't be able to get clothes clean, how wrong I was!!

Absolutely, brilliant stuff! Worth it for the scent of the product on the clothes itself.

DH has sensitive skin and did not appear to have any issues with the detergent unlike some other brands. This is good as it means I can actually wash his clothes properly.

• What was your favourite thing about using Ecover Non-Bio - Concentrated Laundry Detergent? The smell - noticeably nicer than my usual washing tablets, and longer lasting

• What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? It's cleaning power!! Was expecting not such a thorough clean, especially when washed at 30 degrees which is my normal temp. However everything can out beautifully clean and soft.

• Are you a new convert to Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? I'm on the fence!! Although i loved the detergent and love the fact it's environmentally friendly I personally didn't like the liquid detergent. I tend to over pour and use far too much so need the 'portion control' of tablets. If they could make this liquid detergent into a tablet I'd be on 100% on board

I loved the smell. I could smell it on my clothes after washing. It smelled very fresh.

Yes, I usually use own brand but will get this again.

My favourite thing about using Ecover non-bio concentrated laundry detergent was definitely the smell. Not strong and synthetic like so many other detergents, just gentle and fresh.
The thing that surprised me the most about the concentrated non-bio laundry detergent was how effective its cleaning power was. I would never have previously thought this brand would be strong enough to tackle the numerous food stains and other marks my son gets on his clothes, but everything came out nicely on a 40deg wash.
I'd say, yes, on the basis of its cleaning power, that I'm a convert to this non-bio concentrated laundry detergent, provided the price was reasonable.

That it's good for sensitive skin, as we have allergies in the family.

What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?
It actually cleaned better than I was expecting. I have a 2 year old who seems to enjoy wearing her food as much as eating it. The washing liquid managed to shift the tomato sauce stains, though struggled with the turmeric. But then, turmeric is a tough one to shift!

Are you a new convert to Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?
I buy washing liquid in bulk at Costco. If it were sold there then yes I would buy it, dependant on the bulk cost.

Favourite thing: the smell! It's beautiful
Surprised by: effectiveness. I had previously considered Ecover little more than soapy water (sorry!)
Convert: I would love to be, fir eco credentials and smell... but I can't justify the cost.

Ps. While the smell is beautiful, I'm concerned whether and real sandalwood is used from sustainable sources?

1. You get a lot of washes from a small bottle. I haven't had to use fabric softener with it.
2. The smell has a big impact. It's quite masculine for me, but definitely different from usual .
3. Not this fragrance.

I got a lot of washes out of the small bottle, it got the clothes really clean.

Yes, I tend to switch washing liquid a lot but this will definitely be one of the ones I use. I already use their washing up and dishwasher products, I really like the brand.

What was your favourite thing about using Ecover Non-Bio - Concentrated Laundry Detergent?
I really liked the smell of it and it did not irritate my daughter's sensitive skin.

How soft it left the clothes and how well it cleaned them.

As others have said, the smell was really lovely & it made my washing much softer than my usual non bio. I also appreciate that it's much better for the environment.

That it really did get everyday stains out! It even removed blood (from a ruptured ear drum) & soiled pants (toilet training!)

I was really impressed & would like to buy it again in the future, but it's a lot more expensive than my usual Aldi non bio (at least £5 more). As a family of 5 we do lots of washing & I don't think I could afford to buy it regularly. It's definitely made me rethink ecover as a brand though & I'll investigate some of their other products now.

Definitely the smell. It was lovely and a real change from my usual brand.

I would definitely purchase this in the future but I would probably wait for it to be on offer as I think it will be quite expensive compared to other brands.

The environmental approach

• What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?

The smell. It is an unusual smell and not one I would associate with laundry. I didn't like the smell in the bottle although I couldn't smell much on the clothes after washing them.

• Are you a new convert to Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent?

A few years ago ecover was my go to detergent but found it expensive and not that great so I wanted to like this. However I didn't think it performed that well on sweaty gym kit as the worst bits still whiffed a bit and at this price point I would expect more. So I'm afraid it is a no from me.

No - my daughter's skin has suddenly become rashy and itchy, which may or may not be a reaction to Ecover, but I'd rather not risk it by continuing to use.

I like the brand and their use of biodegradable ingredients.

How effective it was. With a 1 year old her clothes are always full of stubborn stains but this cleaned it all brilliantly. I was impressed!

Sadly not.. unlike others I didn't really like the smell. I found it very strong, especially for my babies clothes. I really like the brand and was really impressed with the clean so would definitely purchase if there was a more subtle scent option.

• Concentrated Laundry Detergent? My favourite thing was how effective the detergent was on stains despite it being a mild formula. I also liked how fresh it made my washing smell.

• What surprised you the most about Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent? I was most surprised at the scent, some of the ecological brand detergents don't smell that pleasant. This one had a beautiful scent.

What was your favourite thing about using Ecover Non-Bio - Concentrated Laundry Detergent?

I really like how environmentally friendly the product is, that's something which not many (any?) products really shout about & is certainly a big selling point for me as I feel quite strongly about 'green' issues... & I'd many other people do too so it's a great USP. Also, I currently use Aldi's own non-bio laundry detergent which I have been very happy with for the money. However, the Ecover detergent had a MUCH stronger smell to it & made the clothes smell really fresh & clean. My husband is into cycling & his kit can smell pretty bad on occasion...the aldi detergent doesn't get rid of the sweaty smell but the Ecover one did. Massive plus point. Even my husband noticed which is unheard of.

I don't really expect non-bio detergents to 'clean' particularly well, or at least as well as the stronger colour detergents. I use them because I have young children & find them a bit gentler on their skin (myself & kids have quite sensitive skin) but actually Ecover cleaned our clothes incredibly well. Normally I do a wash with non-bio detergent for kids stuff like pj's, underwear etc & then also do a wash with a stronger colour/whites detergent for things like uniforms, work clothes, best clothes...BUT I haven't had to do that. Less washing is definitely ok by me.

I would if it was priced fairly. I'm currently a stay at home mum so am constantly watching the pennies. I dont generally swap & change detergents very often as I find something that doesn't irritate our sensitive skin & stick with it. This product hasn't negatively affected my children's skin & has actually performed better than my usual product, so would definitely consider swapping if the price was right.
