This is the feedback thread for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested LloydsPharmacy Solero sun creams.

Here’s what LloydsPharmacy has to say: “April 2016 sees the launch of our reformulated and re-packaged own brand of suncare range, Solero. We understand that our customers’ skin is as unique as they are, which is why we have introduced a range of suncream that is perfect for every type of skin – an ultra-sensitive range for skin prone to eczema (atopic dermatitis) and psoriasis, which has been dermatologically tested and approved, and a triple defence range that protects from 3 types of harmful rays, UV-A, UV-B and Infrared-A”

Non-tester? For a chance to win a LloydsPharmacy skin care hamper worth over £75 answer the below question:

So far we only have 2 year old DD and our favourite holiday destination is Bluestone in Wales.
We went last year and adored it. The resort is lovely with gorgeous views, there's loads of activities for little ones and it's not far away from a nice beach and zoo as well. We've already booked to go back this September Smile

I have never taken my children abroad but out favourite uk holiday destinations so far are London and Birmingham. We visited both by train and both were easy to get around without a car!

I really like to stay in the UK-Devon, Wales and The New Forest are my favourites. There are loads of things to do: many lovely gardens, houses, zoos, safe beaches amusement parks. Beautiful scenic places to walk and brilliant places to eat. I like to rent out a house or apartment near to the sea for a week and explore.

Non tester. One of my favourite holiday resorts is Parc Hotel Paradiso in Peschiera, Lake Garda. We are going for the second time this summer. We don't usually go to the same resort twice but we enjoyed it so much, and we are going just before our daughter turns 12 so it will be the last chance we get a free child place for her! There are a few swimming pools in the grounds, lots of activities, and the food was excellent. There was so much choice. My daughter was delighted as she was able to have lots of ice lollies! All the staff were great too. I would definitely recommend this to other families.

Larache, Morocco
My hubby's hometown. It's friendly and fun with two kinds of beaches, great food and nice locals.

mummyofcutetwo · 17/06/2016 14:10

We go to Wales. The weather is usually gorgeous in the summer, but there's enough to do if it isn't.

The people are lovely and the food is delicious. There's so much to do - beautiful beaches (come rain or shine), castles galore, amazing mountains, fun attractions (zoos, stately homes, Roman sites, museums, steam railways...).

Two weeks is never long enough!

We love Wales. We've only managed a couple of small family holidays in the UK and Wales is perfect for the family.

Ratbagcatbag · 17/06/2016 15:09

Non tester - I love the UK for holidaying with my dd and DSS, specifically I love Tenby and surrounding area. Lots of places to stay which don't require the car, gorgeous beaches and lovely activities for the older DSS such as coastering etc. I think if you get the sun the UK is an amazing place to holiday.

Anywhere that has a nice sandy beach! My girls love sitting and playing with sand for ages, Cornwall / Devon are always great locations.

Hi I am a non tester......
My favourite holiday destination to take my children is actually butlins. As my girls are only 2 and 1 years old butlins offers non stop fun for their age

WowOoo · 17/06/2016 16:16

In an ideal world I'd like to take the kids to a beautiful little town in the South of France where we went for a few years. My brother owned a cottage there. I'd love to go back.

gemmie797 · 17/06/2016 16:40

I love Menorca as a family holiday destination. It's close to home, the weather's good and they love kids. Perfect!

Our favourite holiday destination was a huge house near Lucca, Italy which we rented for several summers, along with DDad, DSis and families. It had everything - sunshine, pool, amazing food, and entertainment (in the form of cousins) on tap! We haven't been there for a few years, but the DCs still reminisce about it....one day we'll go back.

This summer, we're off to California! Hoping this becomes the new favourite.

Lisasm21 · 17/06/2016 16:55

I didn't get a chance to test it but my favourite holiday destinations for taking the kids away are America or anywhere in Europe with good weather and kids clubs!

SixFeetUnder · 17/06/2016 17:05

Thank you for choosing us to test!

I used the cream on my children before going to school and gave them the lotion to top up with during the day. The cream applied easily enough although it seemed to take a long time to sink in to the skin. We usually use Garnier clear spray though which soaks in instantly.

I presume it works as they did not burn although we do prefer our usual spray for ease of use and the fragrance. I would buy the small size of lotion if it were available though as it was easy for the children to apply and handy for their bags.

Sleepysausage · 17/06/2016 17:57

We love to take our daughter to festivals, there is always plenty of things to do for us all to enjoy together

emmaokane · 17/06/2016 18:00

We were a non tester- but our favourite holiday destination has to be the uk, as a larger family I find the price of travelling abroad to be astronomical and there are so many hidden gems here in the Uk, nothing better than packing up the car with your tent, food the kids and a map and discovering a new place and camp sites are so modern now a days no scary midnight trips to a deserted toilet miles away lol. Of course if the weather dosent play ball can become a bit miserable but it's all part of the adventure x

hermancakedestroyer · 17/06/2016 18:22

My favourite destinations to take the children to are Croyde Bay in Devon for their fabulous beaches and surfing there. I also think that Puerto Pollensa in Majorca is beautiful and I would love to go there again.

I like Lloyds but for sun cream prefer superdrug's own brand because it isn't tested on animals and has the "leaping bunny" symbol.

Carriecakes80 · 17/06/2016 19:19

I love to take my kids to Burnham-On-Sea. We have family there, the beach is lovely, the place is quiet, loads of places to visit, and lovely walks...its such a lovely little place, and they love the pier at Weston Super Mare which is very nearby! We also love Great Yarmouth, which is where I always holiday'ed as a kid! x

sassolino · 17/06/2016 19:56

For the last 6 years we've been going to the same small village in Cornwall. We rent a cottage for a week, and go to the beach in any weather. My kids love it. We keep thinking that perhaps we should change and try to discover another place to stay by the sea, but then we love this cottage so much, we're looking forward to staying there for the whole year.

UpOnDown · 17/06/2016 20:10

Center parcs is my favourite get away with the kids (nontester).

The best place for letting your kids have freedom and to just be children. Absolutely amazing place

Lemonhotfwater · 17/06/2016 20:26

My 2 year old DS has eczema & this suncream didn't bring on a flare up, which many other suncream do. It was easy to apply, no strong smell & stood up to lots of playing in paddling pool.
Slightly disappointed it's only 3 star rating 'good' rating.

My favourite place to holiday with the DC is skiing. Strangely, both DDs love applying sunscreen (DD2 so much so that we have to keep it out of reach), because I'd worry about the sun exposure at altitude. We've never been for a sun holiday abroad - I prefer to stay at home and enjoy our own beach and countryside. I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of taking the DC abroad again until DS is at least 4 or 5, except perhaps to go skiing.
I worry about sunburn in the summer and wouldn't want to go on a sun holiday.
