We understand that our customers’ skin is as unique as they are, which is why we have introduced a range of suncream that is perfect for every type of skin – an ultra-sensitive range for skin prone to eczema (atopic dermatitis) and psoriasis, which has been dermatologically tested and approved, and a triple defence range that protects from 3 types of harmful rays, UV-A, UV-B and Infrared-A”

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream? Out and about with my children at the local park/paddling pool on tuesday of this week.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use? It was easy to use and rubbed smoothly and quickly onto the skin. I like the fact its for sensitive skin as my son has some patches of eczema so this is perfect to use for him. Overall pretty impressed.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream? In my MIL garden on Sunday and in my own garden today

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use? It was nice and easy to spray on, it rubbed in really easily and didn't feel like a sticky layer afterwards. I presume it worked because none of us are sunburned!
I used the cream rather than the spray bottle on our faces and again it was nice and easy to apply, smelt fine and rubbed in OK. I would definitely buy these sun creams again.

As an aside, I loved the size of the bottles! I know they are just sample sizes but they were just perfect for popping in the changing bag so I had them with me ready for when the sun came out. If they were sold in the small size I would definitely make a bee line for them! Many thanks.

The lotion appears to have stained one of dds tops, I occasionally get marks from Soltan but it washes out!

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
U.K. , Greater Manchester, Hollingsworth lake , walk around the lake on a bright and sunny day.
Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use? The spray went on really easily, but both the kids and the sensitive cream rubbed in easily too. However, I felt they were quite greasy, both mine and my little girls skin was so shiny. There was no fragrance, which I kinda like in a sun cream. But maybe those that dont, would find this a plus point. Neither of us got burnt, so it obviously does the job. I don't think I would swap

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream? I tested the SPF30 spray & the SPF50 kids' suncream. I tested it on holiday in Cornwall & at home in the garden/playground.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use? I thought it was on a par with the brand I usually use. I usually have Ambre Solaire suncream, but find it quite thick & gloopy to apply, whereas I didn't find this with the Lloyds cream or spray. It also felt like the DC were well & truly covered, which was great. It is also a fair amount cheaper, which is important to me.

Thank you for letting me test this Smile

Just to add, the tops the DC were wearing have been stained by the suncream and not washing out - this puts me off buying it.

I tested both products and was really impressed neither of them left my skin feeling greasy like normal sun tan lotions and I did find that the smell was actually pleasant. £2 for £8 is definitely a really good price

I tested the kids sun cream and the sensitive sun cream. The day after it arrived we had a couple of days of glorious UK sunshine and we used it in the garden, out at the shops and in the park.

In comparison to my usual brand

Oops.

In comparison to my usual brand of cream Lloyds Pharmacy Solero is equally nice to use of not more so. It's not greasy, doesn't have a strong scent, and goes in well. We also didn't burn so it must do it's job.

I would definitely be happy to buy it again and recommend it to friends and family.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?

I tested KIDS ultra sensitive spray and Ultra Sensitive lotion.

We have tested them daily, applying at home before school/preschool, and we also tested by applying at home before a day out at the weekend

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?

*I was so impressed with how easily absorbed both suncreams were. With my previous suncream the preschool teachers would always comment how they knew my son was wearing suncream as it was so greasy and visible on his skin, even after 20 minutes! But with these you can barely feel or see it on the skin, although I am still confident it does the job!

They are fragrance free which is great for their sensitive skin. We haven't tested them in the paddling pool yet, but fingers crossed for sunshine this weekend!

For me, I usually buy products on offer or reduced, but I have been really impressed with these so far, I would probably pay the full £7 to use them again! *

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
Used it at home in the uk over the past few days.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
We usually use soltan. I liked the spray and didn't find it messy. It was easily absorbed, didn't leave a lot of residue and didn't smell. I would but it again.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?

We took the sun cream with us on holiday to Italy last week. My son has eczema and so we have had to have special sun cream suggested by the doctor in the past as the usual stuff flares it up. I did not use the kids one on him, I chose to use the Ultra Sensitive one, it was great! It didn't flare his eczema up and is so much cheaper than the brand the doctor suggests which is usually £21 a bottle!

It was hot and sunny and the kids were in and out of the pool. I used the Kids one on my daughter and the spray bottle made it easy to re-apply when she came out the pool.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?

As I say, we usually use a very expensive brand for ultra sensitive skin which costs £21 a bottle, this is so much cheaper but just as good. It absorbs well, it protected the skin. Fantastic. The kids one was just as good as any other normal branded sun cream I have used in the past.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?

I used it in the morning before school/ Pre-school then I put them in my children's bags to take to school/pre school later in the day

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?

All of my children have sensitive skin and the Solero has been fine on their skin, it soak in well and lasts as long as my normal suntan lotion. Overall I am very happy with this suntan lotion.

We spent an entire afternoon on 5 June on the seafront in a paddling pool using the suncream and it worked fine despite strong sun. Eventually went in because too much sun but not burning - no redness at all for either me or toddler. Also used it for shorter periods in the garden and at the park on 4 June and 8 June.

It worked as well as the other brands we use. As long as we are diligent in applying them I don't think we have had a problem with any brand. Price is therefore a key competitive factor. Having said that, the spraying mechanism is another competitive factor. I'm not too bothered about having spray-on suncream, but if you're going to have it you want it to spray nicely, giving even coverage and not going everywhere. The Lloyds Pharmacy Solero suncream satisfied in this regard.

unfortunately my daughter had an allergic reaction to both the spray and lotion. She came out with a rash all over her body. I didn't like how you have to keep topping up every 2 hours I personally prefer using suncream where you put it on once a day.

I used this on my DC ages 6 & 3 in the garden over the weekend when it was about 21° and there were no problems.

I liked that the cream was not runny and went on easily and was easy for my dd to apply on herself.
It was a bit sticky but the DC did not seem bothered by it.
The smell was not too strong so that was a plus.
However we had a bit of a problem with the spray it was a bit tricky and had to press down quite a few times for it to come out. Not sure if it was just an issue with my sample.
We use nivea usually and would be willing to switch depending on which had the better offer at the time.

We tested the sun cream (sensitive) for our normal activities- walking to and from school, playing in the garden (including water fights), cricket matches and camping.

None of us burned, which is great news as we are all quite fair (even my dh's bald head). My youngest ds has really reactive skin and he didn't get his normal sunscreen rash, which was excellent as we always seem to get that. We preferred the spray on formula for the children, just for ease of application. It did not make any of our eczema flair up.

The only small issue was that it is quite greasy, but I think that's a small price to pay for the lack of rashes and burning.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
Used it at home whilst the kids were out playing in the garden and whilst we went out for a walk

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
It was quite easy to use but I'm not necessarily keen on the smell but thats just personal preference and me being fussy with smells. It soaked in OK, but found it not to settle as quick as other brands I have used in the past

We used the sun cream this week in the uk. Me and my children have fair hair and very pale skin and I have had a melanoma in the past so are very sun conscious. None of us burned whilst wearing the cream. I liked the smell and it felt fine on our skin. My 5 year old said she preferred it to the brand I had last year. I'm not especially loyal to sun cream brands and have used lots of different ones in the past. I would buy this if it was a good price.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
I've used it a couple of times (UK), when it's been hot for the kids before school and myself
Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
I don't normally use a brand in particular. I prefer the kids one to the superdrug kids one that we have which is over runny. However, the kids one is a bit sticky - I can't decide if this is actually useful as it means you can tell if it's on.
Like the smell of the triple one and worked well but couldn't use it on the face as too greasy.
If buy them if I needed some and was near a lloyds but wouldn't go out of my way to buy them.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream
I have used this cream on my daughter aged 2 whilst we have been enjoying the sun in the garden this week. It went on easy and rubbed in nicely. The smell was minimal and left a good coverage with no irritation or redness.
Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
I normally use a few different brands and this compared very well to them all. The price was great and it did its job very well. I will recommend to my mummy friends and will be buying more.

We only received very small samples, so not really adequate to test properly I'm afraid, especially as you are meant to apply so regularly.

Q1 - We tested in the garden, as not enough in the bottles for a day out

Q2 - The UVA rating is lower, it stains and my usual one doesn't (Boots Soltan), and isn't really cheaper when you take the usual offers into account.

Thank you for letting me test this, but we won't be buying it again.

Q1. We used it whilst playing in the garden

Q2. It compares well against our usual brand (Nivea Kids). It went on smoothly, rubbed in easily, wasn't greasy & there was no strong smell. It seemed to do the job (we didn't get burnt!) and I don't have anything negative to say against it.
If the price was right (compared to other brands / offers), I might buy it.

Thank you.

We tested the Kids Solero and the Triple Defence Solero sun creams on a rare hot and sunny day in London. Both worked well in terms of sun protection. I preferred the Triple Defence, though. It smelled quite nice, rubbed in better and absorbed faster. The Kids version came in a spray bottle but the spray was quite thick and you still had to rub it in quite a bit so all the spray feature really did was let you get sunscreen on other things besides what you want it on. Also it didn't smell as nice. Not bad but definitely sunscreen-y. Still, both did what they need to which is protect from sunburn without irritating skin but so does my usual cheaper brand.
