I have a 4yr old female (9.6kg) Bichon Frise.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

I was aware of Pedigree dog food before but had not personally purchased it before.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

My dog took very well to the Pedigree complete feeding plan and definitely enjoyed the wet food, she was previously on just dry. She did appear to be more hungrier than if she was on her usual food but I think that's down to her being slightly overweight and the Pedigree Tracks app adjusting the amount of food because of this, her appetite is now starting to calm down.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

I'll most likely continue with Pedigree complete feeding diet, there were no adverse effects of the trial and I'm not keen on messing about with her diet for no obvious reason.
I probably won't be using the dentastix as she never finished a whole one and I kept finding the half eaten ones in my bed!

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend but if it came up in conversation or someone asked my opinion I would suggest Pedigree.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

Loved the app, was good to see my lazy bichon actually doing exercise! Was also good for helping to work out the varying amounts of food as she lost weight so she wasn't constantly 'dieting'.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Absolutely! Even if someone wasn't using Pedigree food the app is good for keeping track of exercise and also helpful assessing whether your dogs weight is healthy or not.

On an additional note, Pedigree supplied enough food for several months for the trial so I also tried my 5yr old male JackChi (5.8kg)with it. He found the Vital pieces to be a little on the large side for his mouth and the pieces had to be broken in half, he also would leave the Vital and only eat the wet food so I had to separate the food and give him dry first then the wet when he was finished. His coat is now super shiny which never occurred while on his usual dry mix.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 16/05/2016 17:44

update from my previous post

I have now tried the Pedigree® Tracks app and havent found it to be very useful. My dog does 130% of his daily exercise on his morning walk! now I could enter my collie and my spaniel and I'm sure it would say they're not walked for long enough but as they all have a lot of access to a large garden most days it would be hard to use it to accurately to calculate their exercise.
Based on this I would be unlikely to recommend the app

I have now tried the pouches and my dog really likes them, and luckily they havent upset him as Pedigree tended to do in the past. However I would not buy them regularly as it makes it a bit of a faff to feed the same size pouches to 3 different sized dogs.

Overall I think the dried food is good but using my calculations based on my dogs resting energy requirement he would require much less than is recommended for him on the packet and by the app
(63g compared to 77g) If I fed him this amount I think he would get fat.

As tested by our boxer Blaze!

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before? Yes absolutely

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products. Loved the idea of having everything you need all available in easy to use form from one company. Felt like my dog was getting everything he needed as its a complete diet

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why? Not likely as after searching it out in the shops I felt it was a very expensive way to feed a medium to large dog. The pouches of wet food in particular

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? I don't think so. I don't really recommend brands unless I'm super impressed with the whole thing and this is rare

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app? I didn't really use it.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? Probably not no.

TitsForBrains · 16/05/2016 20:36

Further to my previous answers, we are now re-considering whether we will continue with the Pedigree food because since we have started using it, our dog has started to really smell.

Previously, she had no discernible odour but since we have switched food, she does not smell very nice at all and I don't just mean her breath!

We're planning to carry on and see if it settles down but if it doesn't then I think we will switch her back to her old food.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes and yes
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
Not a fan of the complete diet; following the recommend feeding guidelines from the app, my dog quickly put on weight (she's prone to this anyway if not fed a low fat, med. protein diet).
She loves the wet pouches and dentastixs though!
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
Won't consider the complete diet at all. She may get the occasional dentastick as a treat.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
It all depends on the dog, owner and amount of exercise the dog is likely to get - and its general health/allergies.
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
I could tell instantly that it was giving reccomendations on the high side for the amount of food required by my dog. Tried it for a few days and weight gain was noticeable. (All variables had been entered correctly, if anything amount of exercise was underestimated)
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, feel it would lead to over feeding quickly.

Q1. I was aware of the Pedigree brand before and had previously bought Dentastix.

Q2. The products were easy to use and the complete feeding diet used with the app made it super simple. I felt as though my dogs' needs were catered for.My dog seemed to really enjoy the complete feeding diet.

Q3. I think we will return to our previous feeding method and brand of dry food as it seems to agree with my dog a little better. I will continue to buy the Dentastix as they were a big hit and will buy the odd pouch as a treat for my dog

Q4. I'd recommend Pedigree to others, especially those who are new to dog ownership because the products seem to be universally popular, they're easy to find in shops and the feeding instructions are simple to understand.

Q5. The Tracks app was quite handy, it confirmed that my dog is getting plenty of exercise. The food portions were on the large side but I understand all dogs have variables in terms of size/weight/breed. The app was easy and simple to use.

Q6. I think the tracks app would again be most suited to new dog owners as it is helpful and gives good guidance.

CatThiefkeith · 18/05/2016 11:25

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
I have purchased Pedigree in tins previously, but found they made my dog very windy, so changed brands. I have also bouth dentastix and treats for training.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
I was really impressed during the trial, although I must confess I didn't use as much of the food as remcommended. My dog is a spayed labrador bitch, and puts on weight easily, so I used slightly less than recommended. I also think a Dentastick a day is a bit too much. Overall though, I was very impressed.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
I don't think I will use the full diet, as my dog wan't keen on the dried food. She would only eat it if covered in wet food pouches. I will however still use the rest.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would, because my dog seems to be shinier and have more energy since changing her diet. I was suprised by that, since Pedigree gets such a bad rap with dog owners, but the trial has changed my perception.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app? I didn't really use it much - the feeding recommendations were too much for my dog, and she is well walked, trained and socialised. I might have used it more if I was an inexperienced dog owner.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? I would recommend it to someone getting their first dog, as there was helpful info on it, but not for guidelines on feeding.

My 1 year old collie pup Rowan tested the pedigree wet pouches puppy and junior, the dry complete junior and the puppy tubos
Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before? Rowan is the youngest of my 3 dogs, he himself has never had pedigree before the trial, but my other dogs have both tried pedigree at points through there lives.
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products. I have always fed Rowan on dry food, but found by the trial that he much prefers the complete balance of wet and dry and is even more bouncy (if that is possible!) with the mixed diet, with the regular tubos he was excited on seeing the packs and knew he was getting what his now his favourite treat!
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why? Since we have tried the complete diet with Rowan we have changed all 3 of our dogs over to Pedigree and they are so happy!
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? I would recommend and have already have done to my close friend for her husky and she is now looking into changing her lad over to this!!
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app? I though it was easy to use, but more suitable for new owners, people who haven't had dogs before, or have other dogs at home. Having 2 older dogs I didnt really use it that much.
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? I would recommend it to my friends that are thinking of getting a puppy for the first time.
Thank you for selecting Rowan to be part of this trial, you have helped us to find a very balanced diet for Rowan and he is thriving on it!
Ps Rowan is the one looking at the camera, he is with his big sisters Starr and Rowan!

Tested by Dougal. Aged around 3yrs. Bichon frise x Labrador.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes I was aware of it before and have used cans occasionally and also hado dentastix before.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

My dog Dougal enjoyed the dry and wet food and he certainly ate it quicker than the old food which he snacked on throughout the day. We had an issue with itchy skin for a few days but it did pass so may not have been the food.

He didn't like the dentastix unless I cut them up. He prefers soft treats, these are too hard for him. He liked the cheesy treats but wouldn't touch the crunchy pockets at all.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

As I have 3 dogs so its cheaper for me to continue with the food they had before as it's a 15kg bag and good value. I will carry on with the pouches as they all enjoyed them (had to buy some as they could smell Dougal had something different and sat looking at me as if to say where's our meat!)
Probably wouldn't bother with dentastix as Dougal only ate it if I cut it up. They are too hard for him. He prefers soft treats.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes would recommend, especially the pouches as it adds extra flavour and texture to the food.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

Used initially to see how much was recommended but it didn't seem to match with amounts recommended on the packaging. Not really looked at it since.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

No. I don't really see the use in it. I know how much we walk with out tracking it on there.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes my dog has been on many different dry foods and the one we were trying before the trail was the Pedigree puppy dry food.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

I found the information about switching dog foods very interesting and helpful, we didnt notice any upset tummys or changes in behaviours. So i would say it worked perfectly.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

My dogs appetite has completely changed since feeding him half dry and half pouch. i will be sticking with this in the future as he hardly ate before and is now waiting at the bowl for his feeds.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

YES, my dog loves it and its a great price!!!

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

I didnt really like the app, and deleted it after one go. it was good for the amount of food and exercise needed but apart from that and once i knew that i no longer needed the app.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

No not really the app it wasnt as good as hoped

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

I was aware of Pedigree dog food but have never fed it before.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

Basically, I loved it (and more importantly so did my dogs) Daisy is a Dogue de Bordeaux pup and she was the one on the trial. When I collected her the breeder told me what food she was on which was a well known quality brand. From day 1 she was never really interested in her food, she found the nuggets too large and I had to soak her feed for several weeks just to enable her to manage. After that I was quite worried about her not eating what she should and leaving much of her feed every mealtime.

When the Pedigree trial products came I immediately noticed that the nuggets were much smaller, from the first use she began to become more enthusiastic about her feed and this increased as the switchover became more Pedigree. The only thing that did worry me was that we were sent Puppy feed for a medium dog rather than the large breed that Daisy is so it was difficult to judge the correct amount to feed. I have to admit that when I reordered I did order the Large Breed puppy food.

The pouches are just amazing, the addition of the pouch to the dry food made Daisy even more enthusiastic about her meal times and she loved it. The meat even look tasty and when we visited Waltham and saw how it is made and what goes into it I know that it is actually fit for human consumption. All the feed, both wet and dry, use meat products from the human food chain, just the bits that we prefer not to eat through personal choice.

The dentastix were brilliant and very popular, they will hopefully reduce the need for dental work later in Daisy's life. The treats enabled me to work with Daisy, they are a nice size to carry and to hand over when Daisy works well, it helped a lot that she liked them
.
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

I am very likely to continue to feed the full Pedigree diet to my dogs. I have in fact switched my 9 year old Mastiff and 11 year old JRT to the full diet in the Senior range, they love it just as much as Daisy and I found the Pedigree Tracks app worked better for them than for Daisy, more because of the original food sent was for a medium sized dog. Iam also incredibly pleased with the condition of Daisy after being on the food for several weeks, her coat is lovely and she is growing at a good rate. I am very aware that large breed pups have to be carefully watched so that they do not grow too quickly and the Pedigree full diet seems to meet her needs without making her fat.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, I love it, I think it is an affordable diet even with 2 large breeds to feed. It does actually work out a little cheaper than the original dry food that Daisy was on since weaning.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

It was good for the older two, not so good for a 4 month old large breed pup!

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, it was really helpful that my older dog's nutritional needs were worked out for me and then the correct diet given. It makes feeding so eay and will hopefully reduce the number of obese dogs generally.

Eric, the almost 3YO medium sized lab tested the complete pedigree range.

  1. Yes I was aware of Pedigree - you’d have to live on the Moon to not be! But no - hadn’t purchased it for my dog.
  2. Overall impressions are very good. Previous to the trial Eric was on grain free dried food as all other brands we had tried resulted in very sloppy poops (sorry!)… but as we introduced Pedigree gradually as recommended, his stools stayed nice and firm - which is a definite plus! He absolutely wolfed down every meal and now will sit under the shelf where the dentastix live waiting patiently every evening (not sure if that’s a good thing!). Although it was more of a faff than just giving him a scoop of his dried food - I found the pouches to be convenient enough - particularly the jelly pouches as they slid out and I didn’t need to dirty a spoon - Eric didn’t wait for me to break it up - just dived straight in!
  3. Quite - but it is completely dependent on price. If it works out the same or less I will consider it. But we buy own brand food from the pet shop around the corner so it feels good to support a local business rather than huge corporation. Will definitely pick up some dentastix if I see them on offer.
    • Yes definitely.
  4. I only used the app to work out quantities of foods for Eric so can’t comment on its other features. Although I did think that the estimates of exercise needed are misleading as “off the lead” exercise may be trotting along or taring after a ball like Eric - which would obviously use up very different amounts of energy.
  5. Probably not.
Duncanii · 19/05/2016 13:32

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes. When I first got my dog as a puppy she was being fed pouches so we continued for a while but weaned her onto a dry diet as recommended by our vet.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

She didn't like the dry mixed with pouches so there was a lot of wastage until we fed in two separate bowls. The wet food disappears quickly about 80% of the time but she can be indifferent to it. The dry food gets eaten sometimes but not with any great enthusiasm. However, if I take a handful of the dry on a walk as 'treats' it is generally acceptable.

She's not a 'foodie' dog so I would say overall that her eating pattern is the same as usual.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

The Dentastix are a hit and she leaps into bed, ready for one last thing at night. the vet told me that they're quite calorific and to adjust feeding amounts in light of that. Not sure how calorific though?

She likes the treats - but a handful of dry food works just as well so I don't think I necessarily need to buy these.

I won't continue with the full diet as I don't like uneaten wet food hanging around and I'm actually not that confident about its composition.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

On the basis that my dog seems fit and well on it, yes. For some people I guess it's handy to be able to get your dog food at the supermarket as well.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

It's clear and easy to use. I wonder slightly about the accuracy as we seem to reach 120% of the daily recommended exercise in a heartbeat - and well before our second walk of the day!

There was some discrepancy between what the trial instructions recommended and what the app did - I went with the app.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes - it's a good way to monitor whether you are doing roughly the right amount of exercise and food.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
No I haven't bought it before as my older dog can't have it. I'm aware of the brand and I have bought dentastix before
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
She seems to be really enjoying the pedigree food so far
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and
Very unlikely as it would be expensive. The mixer was good sized pieces though.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why
Probably not. I don't think it's superior compared to other brands
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
Gimmick, meh
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why
Yes

whojamaflip · 19/05/2016 22:54

Q1 - I was aware of pedigree before but had never fed it - usually use a working dog mix.

Q2 - little dog loved the pouches and treats. She has always been a fussy eater but cleared her bowl within seconds! However the amount we should be feeding her was way too much - she has put weight on over the trial and is looking rather portly - have reduced the amount by half to try to slim her down!

Q3 - will probably continue with the treats and dentastix but will probably return to our usual diet as it's easier to maintain little dogs weight on that - may use the pouches as an occasional treat though

Q4 - yes - easy diet to feed and dogs seem to like it.

Q5 - tried it but suggested way too much feed for my terrier - had to cut the recommended amount by nearly half as she ballooned!

Q6 - would suggest the tracker to other people yes.

twobears · 20/05/2016 00:20

This feed was very poor quality, our dog was OK whilst the food was 25% pedigree but as soon as it was increased. His behaviour changed very hyper and his bowel movements became very loose.

The dry food was worse but wet pouches definitely had an effect on him.

They only thing that didn't affect him was the dental sticks.

Overall an awful product with no nutritional value to a dog.

twobears · 20/05/2016 00:23

I had heard of pedigree before but stayed clear as was suspicious of the nutritional content.

Used the dry food for a week and wet food just a few days. The affect on our dog was not worth it.

I wouldn't recommend this product at all, I would not promote nor discuss thus brand.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 20/05/2016 00:52

I don't know why I've not been sent emails about this thread (or about being selected for the trial) because all the stuff arrived at my house - even when I queried the whereabouts of a thread I was told I would be emailed when it went live.

Anyway.....

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes of course, it is very well known and advertised. Yes I had bought bits and pieces before - mainly snacks

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

Very surprised at the low meat content, but it looks appetising enough. My dog would not touch the meat in gravy pouches, preferring to go hungry, but enjoyed the meat in jelly ones. The dry food was only eaten when mixed in with wet food. The snacks have been popular.

I am astonished at the recommended amount of food per day. My 1 year old 5kg dog was recommended 2 pouches of 100g wet food plus dry food and snacks a day. This is a huge amount of food and more than she could ever eat in a day. She has actually been eating the best part of one 100g pouch and a small handful of dry food each day, with the odd snack.

My dog's favourite part of the trial has been the dentastix and the little treats.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

There is no way I would feed my dog the full amount of food recommended each day. However, my dog does seem to like the mix of wet and dry food. I will probably buy the meat in jelly pouches again, the dry food, dentastix and maybe other treats.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes and no - I would recommend some of it like the convenient pouches and the dentastix / treats. I would definitely not recommend that a dog owner followed the feeding guidelines.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

I thought it didn't work well. It seemed unable to reliably estimate the amount of exercise done and the feeding guidelines were bizarre.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

No - it doesn't seem accurate.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes, dentistix.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
I think they are good quality - he did have some, erm, wind problems for the first few days but then he settled down nicely on it. He can be a bit fussy but gladly ate everything we were sent. The treats were a big hit.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
Yes I would - he seemed to really enjoy it all.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, I feel confident about the quality.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
I didn't really like it - personal preference really, I'd never use it.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Perhaps to a brand new owner who has never had a dog before, but otherwise no.

My dog seemed to really enjoy the complete diet. She wasn't too fussed on the treats though. I regularly use Dentastixs for my dog. However have never used the wet or dry food before. Normally use Royal Canin dry food for my dog as recommended by my vet. Have noticed no difference in my dogs coat condition, weight, fitness levels or the condition of her teeth since she switched to the pedigree diet therefore I may permanently switch her to this diet as its better value than Royal Canin.
I found the Pedigree Tracks app very useful so I didn't over feed my dog especially As she was trying wet food for the first time.
I would recommend pedigree food and the Tracks app to other dog owners I know.
Delighted to be chosen to take part in the trial as otherwise I would never have purchased pedigree dog food, have only ever purchased dentastixs or Rodeo dog treats.

  1. Yes I was and no we haven't.
  2. It works really well, our dog loves the wet pouches and fantastic. It's nice having the small pouches for speed rather than tins. My dog was used to dry food before and he likes the pedigree dry but not as much as the wet.
  3. We are not sure on the prices but the Wet food we will consider, a definite for the dentastix and a maybe for the dry and treats. There isn't anything that stands out to be on those two that would compel me to buy.
  4. I'd recommend.
  5. I looked at it but I don't feel there is a need for it.
  6. No, doesn't offer me anything to recommend.

I have now finished the trial, and really pleased that I took part.

Archie has been very well while being fed on the Pedigree products. He has always been a little on the 'big side' since early puppyhood, and I have always been careful to control his weight. I am really pleased to say that he has lost some weight whilst on the trial 😄.

Archie has a beautiful coat, full of silliness and shine, not to mention a wet nose and sparkling eyes. He coped well with the change over to Pedigree, no tummy upsets etc, and really enjoys the nosh and treats. It wasn't long before he started to get excited as I was preparing his meals...loud barking and running around. Archie is very settled on the pedigree diet, so I've decided to stay on this now rather than swap back to his original diet. I will be continuing with the dry complete and pouches, dentstix and the bags of treats for training.

Thank you Pedigree for allowing Archie to take part.

Just wanted to add an extra thought I had over the weekend which I hope will be constructive to those nice people at Pedigree.

I am uncomfortable with the fact that there's no clear and detailed ingredient info on the foods/treats.

I like to know that I'm feeding Daisy good quality, wholesome, balanced food - just as I would my family. The contents of the pouches look too uniform and processed for me to feel happy that it's genuinely good and not the doggy equivalent of fast food.

As humans we are looking more closely at food labels, so why not for our pets? Pedigree is probably the best recognised dog food brand in the land but a good name won't be enough.

More science and nutritional info, please!
