UK Mumsnetters needed to test TomTom’s top Sat Nav - the GO 5000 worth £259.99 NOW CLOSED

We have been asked by the team at TomTom to find 100 UK MNers to try TomTom GO 5000.

We're looking for Mumsnetters who are regular drivers.

TomTom says: "We all know that traffic jams can take seconds to build up and then last for hours. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in a jam or in slow moving traffic and not knowing how long you will be there. Especially, when your time is tight and you have children to pick up or drop off.

TomTom satnavs know the precise traffic situation on most UK roads at all times, in real time. The satnav you’ll be given to test is a “live device,” this means it is constantly searching every possible route option to find you the fastest route available. So, if the traffic situation suddenly gets bad on your “normal” route, it will automatically search other options to find a new, faster route and give you a new arrive time."

If selected, you'll be sent the TomTom GO 5000 to try for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

If selected, you will be sent the TomTom GO 5000 at the end of September, and asked to try it for two weeks. You will then need to try it and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. At the end of the testing period, we’d also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages and fill in a short survey. In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by the 26th of October, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

Please also note that TomTom may use your anonymous feedback comments on their website and social media channels, as well as elsewhere.

If you'd like to take part, please add your details here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/RKBRB3K

We will be in touch with selected MNers ASAP.

Thanks and good luck!

I know i've already applied and everything, but I just need to add...

I got so splendidly and totally and spectacularly lost this morning (hey, I'm a city girl, and that whole countryside thing with fields and stuff that all looks big and empty and same-y is really bloody hard to navigate if you're not used to it...) that I turned up for something over an hour and a half late Blush

The printout from Googlemaps clearly didn't cut the mustard...

I need help :)

Angelie

I registered too, but it didn't 'do' anything at the end, so not sure if I am actually there or not? Is there a way to check?

Would love to give this a try - currently use my phone which uses up a lot of battery power and doesn't get traffic updates.

This looks like a godsend. I am always getting lost or ending up sat in traffic for hours as my smart phone won't redirect me.

Would be great to try this out as I have no sense of direction due to being dyslexic and spend a lot of my life driving around in a state of lost panic.

I have been trying to decide whether to get a satnav of some type for the past few weeks . I have had several nightmare journeys in strange areas that have made me more concious that my nerves cannot stand any more .

I hate the feeling of rising panic as you drive down a strange road with no idea if its even in the right direction. I have managed to drive down one road recently -starting from several different directions. I was still wrong through and could not work out how to get to where I wanted to go.

I could really give one of these a work out.

Yes please!! I'm sick of my ten year old garmin not knowing that a new road/roundabout or whatever has been built and telling me that I'm driving across a field! Confused

Done. I would love a new sat nav. My old one doesn't recognise any new places. Drives me crazy!!!

I work as a driver in the Air Force and would be great to have one to get me around the country. And maybe show me a new shortcut. Not only that it can direct me to all the playgroups we go to over the weekend with my DD.

Completed the survey. My current satnav (TomTom One I think) refuses to update from the website so any developments post about 2009 aren't recognised. Hmm So a brand new device would be lovely. :)

I should have added that once, I managed to end up in Basingstoke instead of Hedge End because I forgot that I had to get off the M4 onto the M27. I was so puzzled that I thought they'd changed the road sign Hmm.
