F&F has asked us to find 100 MNers to test out their F&F schoolwear range with their DC and provide feedback.

Here's what F&F say about their range, "Every year we work tirelessly to improve on our schoolwear range, to ensure you get even better value for money and higher quality compared to the previous year. To enable us to do this we rely heavily on the feedback from all of you - the mums! This year, we have some new key features that we’re really excited to share with you and look forward to hearing your thoughts ”.

We're looking for English and Welsh Mumsnetters, who have at least one child of school age who wears school uniform, to put the range to the test before the new term starts. If you are selected, you will be sent £50 worth of Tesco online vouchers*. We'd like you to use this to buy items, including a few specific items which testers will be sent a list of, from the F&F back to school range.

Delivery charges aren't included in the e-coupons, however there is the option to 'Click + Collect' which delivers your order to your nearby Tesco, free of charge, by the next day if you place your order by 3pm. We are aware that the summer holidays are fast approaching so we're looking for Mumsnetters who are available to carry out this product test as soon as possible.

Once you have had a chance to purchase a few items and kit your DCs out in a new uniform we'll ask you to get your LOs to put it through its paces and for you to give it a couple of washes before adding your feedback to a thread on MN.

If you're interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

NB: You will receive 1x£50 vouchers, to redeem the voucher you will need to spend the full value, or more.

Thank you for the voucher. I have ordered scuff resistant shoes and skirts for DD2, blouses for DD1 and tights and knickers for both to make it up to the £50.

The girls liked the look of the flared skirts but they were only available in 3-4 and 4-5.

Both were disappointed at the lack of 3/4 sleeve girls' blouses (we get them from Asda) and skater skirts (we get these from New Look). Neither would be caught dead in a pinafore but I think they look lovely on younger children.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 10/07/2014 09:18

Just ordered my stuff for the kids!

1 x pair of scuff resistant shoes
12 x polo shirts
4 x trousers
2 x jumpers

They had pretty much everything I needed, though I noticed they didn't have any shorts available. Still, trousers are more functional for the whole year. The shoes were £16 so a good price, especially if they hold up to their promise!

I chose Click and Collect for free delivery.

Rubberstamp · 10/07/2014 09:33

Thank you for the voucher. I'm very disappointed that they don't have school shorts (apart from sports ones) as this is exactly what we need. I tend to buy shorts rather than trousers to save the knees.
I'm not sure how comprehensive a review I'm going to be able to give with under a week left of school but we'll give it a go!

WildEyedAndHairier · 10/07/2014 16:18

Thank you for the voucher. I have ordered the shoes to collect tomorrow, so we will have a week to try them - DS is extremely grateful to you that I'm no longer making him wear either shoes with holes in or non-uniform trainers for the last week. It's a shame the pinafores weren't available in my daughter's size though as I would have liked to try those.

Glitterfairys · 10/07/2014 18:16

Thank you very much for the F&F voucher .
I have chosen white school shirts, blue polo shirts, trousers for both boys ,scuff resistant shoes for the eldest ( who normally wrecks his shoes within a week so fingers crossed ) plus socks and plimsolls .
I have opted for click and collect Smile

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 12/07/2014 07:51

I picked up my order yesterday. Thanks again!
Only one of the pinafore was cancelled but I got it in the bigger size. The shoes look good for 10 pounds, DD2 is very happy with them!
I have 2 cardigans, 2 sets of polos, a skirt, 2 pinafores (3 ordered), scuff resistant shoes, plimsoles.

itsahen · 12/07/2014 11:31

Order collected yesterday too. Looking forward to feedback thread going live as I have notes ready. All was as ordered except that I ordered two pairs of girls bootleg trousers and one came as short length and one as standard - an inch different. I am happy to keep as the shorter ones are fine (tiny bit long on her) now and she will grow into the others.

Raahh · 12/07/2014 13:58

Went to collect the things I ordered today. Shoes look good, as do the skirts and polos shirts.

I ordered 2 pairs of trousers for dd1- neither are any good, (we have problems with trousers for some reason). Frustratingly, they had all the sizes of pinafores, which they didn't online.

Not sure what to do though, as the woman at the click and collect desk said they could only refund, not exchange- but as I haven't 'paid' for anything, I don't know how that will work?

Kahuna · 12/07/2014 14:15

Thanks for my voucher Grin

I ordered the scuff resistant shoes for DS1 (12) and DS2 (9)
Shorter length trousers for DS1 and standard for DS2
Antibacterial socks for DS2 - he needs them!!
Pack of 2 sports shorts also for DS2

Looking forward to trying them out, especially seeing DS2's reaction to being asked to wear shoes instead of boots/trainers....should be fun.

See how they hold up against Matatlan/George/M&S and local independent uniform suppliers (uniform) and Clarks (shoes)

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 12/07/2014 14:18

Collected ours today, looking forward to trying everything on Monday.

itsahen · 12/07/2014 19:27

Raahh - what issue did you have? I got the bootleg ones but they seem fine. Wondering if I missed something !

Raahh · 12/07/2014 19:37

its- it's more that dd1 is not the right shape, than the trousers themselvesGrin. They seem quite sturdy though- I've had flimsy ones from Tesco before.

MimsyBorogroves · 12/07/2014 19:43

Just picked up my stuff - all ready to go for Monday now Smile

itsahen · 12/07/2014 23:05

Raahh thx - yes I thought very sturdy compared to last years M&S ones

missorinoco · 13/07/2014 20:43

Big thank you for the voucher.

We bought 2 pairs of scruff resistant shoes, a pinafore, a fair of trousers, a two pack of polo shirts and a drawstring bag. Plus I bought some extra socks and pants for the DC whilst I was there.

I think the girls grosgrain bow trousers look cheap, and only just fit round the middle, but DD loves them. What about a plus size for the waist?

I really like the look of the pinafore dress, the material and the shape. DD, who is fussy also likes it.

FF, can you put a label in the back of the collar of the polo shirts? It is easier to label, and more obvious if a child has the wrong one.

Two pairs of scruff resistant shoes look good, especially the girls shoes.

Thankyou so much again

Mumof3xox · 13/07/2014 20:44

Damn it how did I miss this!

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/07/2014 21:10

I collected my order today. I bought polo shirts, adjustable waist trousers, socks and scuff resistant shoes for DS. They all look fabulous and I'm particularly pleased with the shoes. They look very sturdy and were very reasonably priced for leather shoes - it makes me wonder what Clark's do to theirs to justify the more-than-double price tag.

We will definitely try the shirts, socks and shoes this week - I had to size up in the trousers and they are a little big. It looks like being shorts weather until the end of term too.

I also bought school shirts for DD2 and I'm very impressed with the range of sizes. In the past I have struggled to buy age 15-16 that are of a sufficiently generous cut to cope with an average bust size.

muminthecity · 13/07/2014 22:21

My order was delivered yesterday. Couldn't get any shoes in DD's size but did get a couple of pinafores, as well as shirts, trousers, a skirt, a summer dress and some socks and tights. Will be trying out the pinafore tomorrow.

EvilHerbivore · 13/07/2014 23:02

Massively impressed with service so far, placed order at about 11am, got a despatch email at 12 and was in store to pick up at 2pm the day after!

lucjam · 08/11/2014 22:43

Has anyone had trouble with the shoes? DS wore them for the last few days of the summer term and for the first 7 weeks of this term. I had to return them to the store today they are wrecked. The soles are worn through on the heels, the soles are coming away from the upper. The parts around the ankle have come un-stitched and the stuffing has come out. The inside on the heel has worn through.

Now DS can be a bit hard on stuff but even he doesn't usually wear through shoes in under 8 weeks. His last pair were bought in September 2013 and lasted till nearly the end of July 2014 (he is tiddly with slow growing feet!)

However the fronts do remain un-scuffed, so they at least got that bit right!!

BlessThisMess · 17/01/2015 18:10

Have just returned to this thread as I have had to go and buy my DD new school shoes today. The F&F non-scuff ones haven't scuffed but the soles have come away from the upper after only 1 term of use. If I'd paid for them I would not be happy! Went to Clarks for new decent quality ones.
