We have been asked by the team at Renault to find two lucky MNers to put the new Renault ZOE to the MN test!

Renault say "our five-seat supermini, ZOE, has shaken up the electric car market thanks to its eye-catching looks, futuristic cabin design and attractive purchase price.

Now, as part of a Renault promotion, we’re pleased to be giving two Mumsnet members a chance to test drive a Renault ZOE for a week for a promotional film.

We’ll deliver the car to you and fit a Z.E.-ready wallbox at your home (you’ll need off-street parking). The car will be fitted with cameras to record your experience of living with the ZOE, and we’ll give you an iPad to keep a daily diary of your week.

After seven days, we’ll return to make a video of your electric experience. And, as an added incentive, you can keep the iPad.

The Renault ZOE offers a maximum driving range of 120 miles, funky looks, a practical cabin and generous standard equipment. There’s even a smartphone app that lets you monitor charge levels and even pre-heat or cool the interior of the car.

It has also been awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP passive safety tests, with a best-in-class overall score of 85%, and also has a passenger airbag that can be deactivated to fit a car seat, while you can enjoy the reassurance of 24/7 roadside assistance, even if you run out of charge".

The edited videos will be used by Renault in further promotion: your real life name will be used.

If you'd like to take part - please read the T&Cs below - then, if that works for you - please add your details on this form.

We will send anon reasons for wanting to take part to Renault and they will pick their selected MNers - we will then send over contact details and Renault will be in touch with them directly to make the arrangements!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We drove Zoe out and about for 60 miles today. I'm always fearful that the range will suddenly drop and we'll be stranded!

DH is camera shy and won't film anything with us in the car! He's taken Zoe out tonight by himself, picking up another friend en route (that sounds a bit odd!) so hopefully he'll have a think of something to tell the camera when he takes Zoe to work with him on Monday (that sounds odd too!).

Last night and tonight we had problems charging the Zoe at home, it kept coming up "charging impossible". Added to that, we visited a car park with public charger and it refused to detect the Zoe. The car park attendant had to reset the system, so it looks like it was their fault rather than the Zoe's. But I was a bit concerned, as if I couldn't charge it, I'd be left with 1 mile left of charge by the time I got home!

But apart from the charging issues, I really like the car!

Oh dear! Have you got that sorted now?

I've not driven Zoe for 2 days, DH has taken her on his longer commute. It's amazing how quickly I got used to the start/stop button, handbrake and no clutch or gear changes, I'm nearly stalling my car quite often and am looking for a button to turn it on at!

We've got it for one more day before it's collected on Friday morning. I'll miss it tbh!

Had problems charging it last night, although when I left it for a bit, it charged no problem. Wonder if it needs to cool down first? At least while at home?

Mine goes back today! DH took it yesterday. I had problems starting his car, because I was so used to pressing the brake before starting (with his, you press down the clutch, but still have a push button start). Also stalled his car a few times, pulling away in the wrong gear! Off shortly to do the food shopping, my last chance to drive it, sob, I will miss it too! Its a lovely car to drive!

Ours too Sad

Once the charger was sorted, we had loads of fun test driving it. For us, fully EV's aren't the way forward but a hybrid is a definite possibility for DH's next company car which he's due to get this autumn. It's really opened our ours to the way that technology has progressed.

Thanks to Renault, Mumsnet and Haymarket Marketing Solutions.

And a thank you from me too Flowers. I've been looking at whether there are any second hand Zoes around... Blush, DH does 36K miles a year in his company car, and it has to be a Mondeo, but as a car for me it could work...
