We have been asked by the team at Renault to find two lucky MNers to put the new Renault ZOE to the MN test!

Renault say "our five-seat supermini, ZOE, has shaken up the electric car market thanks to its eye-catching looks, futuristic cabin design and attractive purchase price.

Now, as part of a Renault promotion, we’re pleased to be giving two Mumsnet members a chance to test drive a Renault ZOE for a week for a promotional film.

We’ll deliver the car to you and fit a Z.E.-ready wallbox at your home (you’ll need off-street parking). The car will be fitted with cameras to record your experience of living with the ZOE, and we’ll give you an iPad to keep a daily diary of your week.

After seven days, we’ll return to make a video of your electric experience. And, as an added incentive, you can keep the iPad.

The Renault ZOE offers a maximum driving range of 120 miles, funky looks, a practical cabin and generous standard equipment. There’s even a smartphone app that lets you monitor charge levels and even pre-heat or cool the interior of the car.

It has also been awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP passive safety tests, with a best-in-class overall score of 85%, and also has a passenger airbag that can be deactivated to fit a car seat, while you can enjoy the reassurance of 24/7 roadside assistance, even if you run out of charge".

The edited videos will be used by Renault in further promotion: your real life name will be used.

If you'd like to take part - please read the T&Cs below - then, if that works for you - please add your details on this form.

We will send anon reasons for wanting to take part to Renault and they will pick their selected MNers - we will then send over contact details and Renault will be in touch with them directly to make the arrangements!

I'm willing to give it a go, but it would have to be a pretty good piece of kit to impress me - so a genuine, honest review would be given by me.

Plus I don't speak French, innit, so absolutely no bias at all, oh no.
Murcky bucket, and all that.

Looking at the map, I think I'd need to spend more time at Ikea!!

MNHQ - any ideas about the answers to the question that I posted yesterday?

CormoranStrike · 10/06/2014 08:43

I have submitted all my i fo on the form, don't want to repeat it here but I have the time and the driveway to do this justice. PICK ME! please!

IwishIwasmoreorganised - your wallbox will be a Type 2 charger, from which you can charge most electric cars (although I haven't checked all of them). And yes, you will be able to use the Ecotricity rapid chargers at Ikea.

BIWI · 10/06/2014 13:34

I'm also Hmm at people just joining the thread to take part in the competition. I thought you were looking for MNetters?

AnnMumsnet · 10/06/2014 14:11

Hello - response on the charge point from team at Renault

"Yes the charge point will work for other models/manufacturers but there is not a standard plug at the moment. Some EVs use 3 pin, the ZOE is 7 pin so charge point may require some kind of conversion to work with other vehicles. Similarly it depends what the charge point in Ikea is. If it is 7 pin then yes they can charge, if 3 pin then no good."

Oh bugger I forgot to add to my entry, that I will wear a floaty dress and pretend to be called Nicole. I bet I have lost any chance :(

(that was Renault wasn't it? Papa?)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 10/06/2014 20:47

Thanks HQ.

I have no idea how many pins are in the Ikea charging units, but I've applied anyway - as long as it can be charged at home that will be fine for the duration of the test drive.

MrChow · 10/06/2014 21:53

Would love to try!

DD2410 · 10/06/2014 22:33

I would find it very interesting to test this car as I currently have a Prius hybrid, so it would be interesting to see how they compare. It would be interesting to see how this car performs with hills, urban areas with speed bumps as well as roads with national speed limits.

I am totally reliant on having a car and use it every day. I would be able to test the car as a family car, taking and collecting my daughter to nursery, commuting to work as well as using for visiting patients for work.

I would be a good person to test a product, as I would give truthful feedback, which I feel is important.

TroyMcClure · 10/06/2014 22:37

oh fsg jsut apply

stop grovelling

peanutbutterandbanana · 10/06/2014 22:40

Yes Yes Yes please! Dropping my name in the hat!
We have off-street parking! Grin
I do MILES every week taking three children here and there so I would be interested to see how much petrol I would save.
And the best bit would be showing Zoe off to my work colleagues (I work part time - three days a week) - I bet they will all want a ride ... including the boss!

lozzybeast · 11/06/2014 12:27

Great, I've applied, thank you.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 11/06/2014 20:31

Is it closed now?

When do we hear?!

CheeryName · 12/06/2014 10:54

Do you think the Renault bosses are all on MN now looking at how fabulously witty and clever and wholesome we are so they can choose their winners?

Anyway I'm just off to admire my beautiful drive, and photogenic children, and do my charity work ;)

Groovee · 12/06/2014 11:22

I reckon they have a map, and are working out how they get there Wink

PurpleCrazyHorse · 12/06/2014 17:48

If only there was a like button, some of these comments are hilarious Grin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 13/06/2014 16:10

Just had I phone call - we've been short listed to the final 8. The details that the 8 short listed MN'ers give will be given to Renault who will make the final decision.

We should know whether we've been chosen by the end of next week!

Fingers crossed!

Groovee · 13/06/2014 16:16

Oooooh Good luck Wish x

CormoranStrike · 13/06/2014 22:21

Oooooooooo!!! i got no phone call, yet I thought I was perfect for the part.

Oh well.

WonderWomansSister · 14/06/2014 15:03

Cries a bit at not being selected. Gets over self

CheeryName · 14/06/2014 17:07

I had no phone call either. I reckon they went on street view and decided our drives weren't up to scratch.

Groovee · 14/06/2014 17:08

oooh can't wait to see who will be picked, I reckon I'm too far away
