My DS2 wants to nominate the Anakin a Star Wars Angry Bird as his favourite. DS1 likes the black 'Bomb' bird.

We met Stacey Soloman, Amy Willerton and Sara Cox. There were some soapy celebs too but I can't name them.

Not for any respecting their privacy reasons, I just don't know their names.

Stacey Soloman is truly lovely though, so nice to my girls, chatting away to them. Her family are lovely too. Amy Willerton looked beautiful and somehow managed to keep dry. She was lovely too.

The prize that keeps on giving! We had a fab time, me, DH, DD 10 and DS 7.

We arrived at 3, and after getting our wrist bands headed straight for our favourite ride, Swarm, and had 2 goes in the first half an hour. When Colossus reopened we ran over and got in the fast track queue (along with Sarah Cox) only for it to break down again.

When Angry Birds Land opened, we went for something to eat, hot dogs and chips, which everyone enjoyed. Then had a go on the dodgems. I would say not suitable for young children, there are too many cars in too smaller space. After 30 seconds they stopped the ride to let a boy out who banged his head. I was banged in to quite hard a couple of times, and my son was also crying after a bump at the end. Avoid! We normally all go on the dodgems at Chessington so know exactly what dodgems are like, but this one is probably half the size. I'm not sure what other rides are classed as being part of AB Land.

Ds likes the red bird, Dd likes the pink one and was given a large cuddly one as it is her birthday, made her day so thank you very much.

The 4D experience I didn't like. It was funny being squirted with water the first time, not so by the second, third and I think 6th time. It was a repetition of clunk chair, squirt, and blown on. I though it was just me but actually none of my family particularly enjoyed it either, sorry. Fun star spotting in the theatre, we saw VB's sister.

After a delicious cup cake, we headed for Nemesis. I stayed on it for 4 consecutive rides, despite the pouring rain! The rest of the family wanted to go by then as we were drenched, but it was fast and fabulous!

I love Thorpe Park, the staff are so friendly and we always have fun there, even in the pouring rain! When I asked my son what was the best bit of the day, he said the balloon! My dd said getting the pink bird. For me it was the fast track.

I would always recommend Thorpe Park, but maybe not so much AB land, as the dodgems are hazardous and the film OK, but would say try it for themselves, don't let me put you off.

Thanks again Thorpe Park and Mumsnet, my family and I are so delighted with our amazing prize. We have been 6 times so far since winning the passes, and as we live so close, will be going many more too. Have some very unMN kisses xoxox

Dolly thanks - we were sitting next to her in the film I think. I didn't recognise anyone as being famous, there was a blonde woman but dd didn't know who she was & I'm no good with anyone 'modern' as my mother would have said.

I didn't see him, but I did sit next to a DH & DS of a Mumsnetter on Nemesis. He warned us we would get soaked and he was right. We all went round twice as no-one else was waiting. He was lovely and even offered for DD to go round again with them when I had to get off to check DD2 was ok waiting. Thank you.

I had a fantastic afternoon and evening with my son, 14 and two of his teenaged friends. (His younger brother got to go last time, and this was his turn) For them it was teen heaven - I mean Thorpe Park fast passes, complimentary food, celebs, it really cant' get any better than that!

As they were probably a bit older than the target market for Angry Bird Land, highlights for them were the big rides such as Saw, Stealth, Nemesis, etc. But they did really like the dodgems in Angry Bird Land, and had a good laugh in the movie. They really appreciated the salty popcorn, but I can see that the younger ones would have been more pleased with the cupcakes!

They loved staying late on the rides, and if you can believe it, rode Stealth 10 times (I think the driving rain at 80mph must have added something to the ride…..)

I felt the Park was well organised, safe and a good environment to let teen boys off on their own knowing they would have a good time. I would certainly have been happy dropping them off and coming back later, but this time I wanted to stay and enjoy the launch! There were other groups of teenagers, all seemed well behaved and just having a nice day.

Thanks to Thorpe Park and Mumsnet for a really fun time. It is hard to find things that I can be included on in a teenage boys world, and it was a pleasure to see them having so much fun, so thanks for that!

Would love to take ds1 but sadly he wouldn't cope due to asd. He does however absolutely love the red angry bird and for a very long time would copy the bird like noise they made on the game and that would be all he said.

My group consisted of me, DH, DS1 aged 18, DD aged 15 and DS2 aged 11.
We had a fantastic day which we shall remember for a long time. We arrived at the Park around four, and were given all our wristbands as we went through the business entrance. Headed straight for the rides with our fast track wristbands. I even braved Swarm as I thought it was easier to walk straight on it and not think about it too much, but it was a brilliant ride, and we went straight back on it again. Also did Nemesis and X, we were disappointed that Colossus wasn't working.
Went to Angry Birds land at 6:30 and went straight for the food. It was great to be able to have anything for free, we really enjoyed all the food and treats. Then went to the Angry Birds screening, we all didn't mind the salty popcorn and thought it was a lovely touch to add to the film. The film itself was good, we all enjoyed it and we all liked the multiple water squirts!
The best bit about the evening was being able to go on Nemesis and Stealth multiple times without even having to get off the ride. I managed 4 times on Nemesis , the dc went on more than me.
Angry Birds land is good, the dodgems were fun. However, I did think that the land would be bigger with more to do, especially as it is aimed at younger children.
Many thanks to everyone involved in this event.

Who was in your group and how old are the children?
Me, DS1(15) and DS2(14)

What was your, and your family's, overall experience of the event?
We had a fantastic time. DS2 who is a bit 'too cool for school' was wearing his unimpressed face at first but at the end of the day (and we stayed until kicking out time at 9pm) he was absolutely beaming and saying what a fantastic day he'd had. You have no idea of the rarity of such an exclamation - it made my absolute day.

There was a bit of a blip when we first arrived - in that we had to pick up our annual passes which we weren't able to at Happy Height Day and there was some confusion (even though I'd checked beforehand what I would need to bring for them to verify) but it soon got sorted. The guest services personnel were very good - Sophie especially.

The park was nice and clean, the staff were welcoming and when we had lunch (in Pizza Hut) I was brought my own tray of gluten free pizza (when it's usually a buffet).

The 4D film was hilarious (especially the bees bit) and the rain didn't spoil a wonderful evening - lots of rides, minor-celeb spotting, free hot dogs. The DC were absolutely buzzing in the car home (lugging an Angry Bird which they'd won, plus an enormous doughnut thing).

What were your/your DCs' highlights of the event?
The boys were spoiled by being able to use the fast track wristbands and went on every single ride (other than Colossus which was closed) numerous times. I think maybe their highlight was, after the Angry Birds 4D screening, going on Stealth 3 times in a row and Stacey Solomon was on the ride too (they were secretly impressed).

What is you favourite ride in ANGRY BIRDS LAND? And what was your DCs' favourite ride?
I really liked Detonator and the boys enjoyed the dodgems more than I thought they would, being slightly older than the target market.

Who is your/your DCs' favourite Angry Birds character?
The green one, apparently!

Overall, would you recommend ANGRY BIRDS LAND to your friends and family if it came up in conversation? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I'd recommend it. My sons are probably a bit old for it but I would imagine that it would be pretty fantastic for younger kids.

Thank you so much.

We think we are going to upgrade our Thorpe Park annual passes to Merlin passes. There is an offer on that ends this weekend which means we can upgrade to a Merlin pass for £61 per person. We don't live very close to Thorpe park, so I think it will be worth it to have the other places to visit.

Please remember to also write a review of your day on the MN review area here

  • Who was in your group and how old are the children?

Me and four children aged 9 , 10 , 11 and 13.

  • What was your, and your family's, overall experience of the event?

Loved it shame about the rain but we arrived early as travelled from Manchester so had a couple of hours with out rain. The 4D film was great and the cupcakes a nice touch. Thank you for the fast passes it really made our day as one DD went on different rides to the others and we were not waiting around.

  • What were your/your DCs' highlights of the event?

Dodgems for dd4 and nemesis for the other 3 who went on it about 20 times. Staff were lovely and winning a big angry bird on the ball game.

  • What is you favourite ride in ANGRY BIRDS LAND? And what was your DCs' favourite ride? Kids loved nemesis dd4 the dodgems.

  • Who is your/your DCs' favourite Angry Birds character? Chuck.

  • Overall, would you recommend ANGRY BIRDS LAND to your friends and family if it came up in conversation? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes its a great addition to the park and the 4D film is brilliant.

Who was in your group and how old are the children?
Myself, dd1 is 12, dd2 is 10 and ds is thirteen months.

  • What was your, and your family's, overall experience of the event?

Girls loved it and savoured every moment. DS and I were a bit disappointed that the beach wasn't open for at least part of the day. (even if it's too cold for the water ds would have loved the sand and climbing frame and I would have appreciated the safe space to let him wander a bit. There are only so many times a wee boy can go on the one and only roundabout appropriate for someone his height.)

  • What were your/your DCs' highlights of the event?

dd plucking up the courage to go on Quantum and being very proud of herself during the afternoon. They also savoured Thorpe Park's evening hospitality, thank-you.

- What is you favourite ride in ANGRY BIRDS LAND? And what was your DCs' favourite ride? The dodgems. We all loved them.

  • Who is your/your DCs' favourite Angry Birds character?

We've never really engaged with the computer game, but we are quite attached to Big Red.
We'd recommend Thorpe Park to families with older children, but still feel that the little ones miss out. (Although, ds did try your jacket potato children's portion with beans and cheese. This was a great size and reasonably healthy option for a toddler and at a price I'd be happy to pay on a normal day out, so thank-you for adding it to your selection.)

DS1 (5yo) is crazy about Angry Birds. I asked him who his favourite one is and he took the question very seriously (and he didn't even know why I was asking (i.e. That there was a goodie bag at stake!)). After a lot of questions to determine the boundaries (which Angry Birds series, can it be only one, ...) he decided that his favourite Angry Birds character is Mace Windu. The reason: "because he can't shoot through wooden blocks but he can shoot through metal blocks and not ice. He can do that because he has a super power that gives him the ability to shoot through the metal blocks with a laser".

We haven't been to Thorpe Park though I know he'd love to (we'd all love to!). Maybe one day...
