This is a thread for the Mumsnetters who attended the ANGRY BIRDS LAND Launch at THORPE PARK Resort. Thanks for going, and we hope that you and your family had great day!

Here's what THORPE PARK Resort say: "It was a pleasure to have you all at our ANGRY BIRDS 4D Experience VIP Screening. We hope you are as excited about the brand new attraction as we are. Come back and visit us soon!"

Below are some questions for you to answer, but do feel free to add any other comments you or your family may have.

Please remember to also write a review of your day on the MN review area here

  • Who was in your group and how old are the children?
  • What was your, and your family's, overall experience of the event?
  • What were your/your DCs' highlights of the event?
  • What is you favourite ride in ANGRY BIRDS LAND? And what was your DCs' favourite ride?
  • Who is your/your DCs' favourite Angry Birds character?
  • Overall, would you recommend ANGRY BIRDS LAND to your friends and family if it came up in conversation? If so, why? If not, why not?

Please also upload any photos of your family enjoying their day out THORPE PARK Resort to this thread. Please note photos may be used by THORPE PARK Resort on Facebook, their website and possibly on other marketing material.

Non-testers: Who is your/your DCs' favourite Angry Birds character? And for those of you who have been to THORPE PARK Resort, what's your favourite ride there?
Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win an Angry Birds goodie bag.

Thanks and good luck,

was on the original thorpe park tester thread, but couldn't do the angry birds day.
have since been. ds2 liked the cinema, especially when we got squirted with water. I thought it was fab too!!!

the bumper cars was good. but, a long queue.

but then I thought, is that IT? all that hype, and 2 minor additions? seemed odd.

Should say only possibile as dd is over 140 cm so no one needed on rides and i did have ds1 and ds2 to help with ds3 as needed an adult even for small stuff ( flying fish etc but he is and will be my thrill seeker if grows

Being honest i wopuld still not reccomed thorpe park if all children under 140cm and not thrill seekers and if all under 120 cm do not go as it is not really aimed at young children and if under 140 cm make sure have adult per child as very little they can go o alone

Those that have Thorpe annual cards or merlin cards you can get a discount in the shark hotel onsite and staying there gets you in 15 mins early and more so between 10 and 11am get free fast pass band .my older ones did 7 big rides in that furst bit including swarm backwards which they vowed never ever again

#Verly late posting on here and did miss launch day as school evening and to far to travel

But have been again recentley and my younger two really enjoyed the show made my youngest laugh so hard though fall of chair .But the bees bit did make sure his legs was up
only thing is any chance of child size 3d glasses as they would not stay on his ears

and have to say staff was very accomidating through whole park and in the shark hotel

.Dodgems was throughly enjoyed as well .was nice have stuff aimed at younger/shorter children to think my lad did dodgems 5 times as was a quiet day

Non tester.
DS 1 likes blue bird and DS2 likes bomb bird (the black one).

It is a hard choice as they are all extra cute, but the red fellow seems to get always the most "love"

non tester

Ds7 loves bomb bird, no red, no chuck, no ice....gah!

He was even an Angry Bird in the Christmas play Grin Grin

I like Chewbacca Grin

We did Kennedy Space centre in October, fun but a bit small and too inside centric for such a good climate.

Will be looking at Thorpe Pk as a summer holiday treat.

I just asked 4yo DS which is his favourite angry bird and why.

his response: 'I like the red angry bird best, because it bangs all the pigs really hard until they fall over'

I don't think mine know one from the other, but what I'd like to know from the testers is if there is a large catapult in angry birds world that you can use to launch children husbands soft toys from :)

I'm afraid at 1m tall these are as fast as they get!! The flying fish and train ride did both go pretty fast - my 10 yr old enjoyed them and she also likes the big roller-coasters.

DD and DS both favour Red Bird.

Donutwinners my son wouldn't be happy with those rides, he prefers the really fast ones. He will be disappointed if I took him and he isn't allowed on the bigger rides. I have a 10 year old as well so it's difficult when they can't get on the same rides. Chessington is good for them.

My youngest (3yrs old) is around 1m tall. She loved the flying fish mini rollercoster, the banana boat swing thing, the fast train ride, and the boat slide and the carousel. I think that is about all she could go on, although there is a lovely beach area for when the sun shines.

This sounds like so much fun, after reading some of the review. My boys would love Angry bird land in Thorpe park. Could someone tell me about height restrictions as my younger one is slightly over a metre. Is there enough for him to do to make it a nice day out for the family?

NON TESTER- my ds likes the red one, he has the toy set and does little adventures with them. ds likes the pigs.

Gumps - I went to the opening day with my just turned 3yr old, 7yr old and 10yr old. Angry birds part wasn't very suitable for my 3yr old as she was too small for the dodgems. Also, my 7yr old had to go on with a parent, so I expect your 5 yr old would need a parent too.

My 3yr old us over 0.9m, so enjoyed the banana swing, the train ride and lived the flying fish. If your little one is shorted than 0.9m they won't be able to go on anything really Confused.

4d cinema was fun and youngest enjoyed that a lot. There are a row of seats at the back that don't move.

I think you would struggle at thorpe park on your own to be honest, due to needing to accompany your middle child and youngest probably being too small for most things.
