Flora panel - Baking activity feedback NOW CLOSED

This thread is for the Flora panel members participating in the Flora Buttery baking task.

Here's what Flora have to say, 'Flora Buttery is brilliant for baking the fluffiest of cakes, and it’s super easy to mix too, even straight from the fridge. We love to use it for icing, as well as in the cake mix (we have loads of great recipes on our website), and it’s a great all-rounder, perfect for everything from spreading on your sandwiches to melting on your spuds. We’d love you to make space for a tub in your fridge and see how versatile it is!"

Panel members were given a voucher to buy Flora Buttery.

Please answer the questions below and add any other comments you may also have. We'd love you to take a picture of your creation and post it on this thread. You could also enter a photo into the Flora cupcake corner Facebook competition for more chances to win! Please note any pictures and/or comments on this thread may be used by on Flora's pages on MN and possibly elsewhere so please only post if you're happy with this.

  • What did you bake using Flora Buttery?
  • How did the end result compare to what you usually use to bake with?
  • Would you be likely to use Flora Buttery to bake with again in the future or not? If so, why? If not why not?
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Flora Buttery to a friend or relative? If so why? If not, why not?

Still not received my voucher :( will do some baking when I get the chance although this has really put me off it to be honest already!

I like the actual butter it's nice when melted as we just had hot chicken baps for lunch. will get back to you on the baking

I made apple and cinnamon scones with mine and the results were pleasing. They didn't rise quite as much as usual but that could have been down to various other factors too (such as helpful DS who is 18mo!). It as easier to mix into the four and I would use it again and would recommend to a friend or relative too. I am interested to see if the next batch rise any better.

oh dear - when DS8 saw it he said 'That's the one with the weird advert.' I hadn't seen it yet, only heard. He's just tried it on his breakfast bagels but he said 'I don't like this butter.' I think it tastes more like marg than butter. It's also a pale yellow - so it doesn't trick the mind! We usually use supermarket own fake butters. Will bake my usual banana loaf at the weekend and see how that tastes.

No voucher here either, two lots of baking have gone by now and I've got about 100 mincepies to bake. It's goin to have to be stork again.

No I didn't realise that either Notso, the request was to swap it for your usual spread, use it, and cook with it too, I will try to whip something up later then.

Hi notso, EverythingIsTinselyBaubleyBoo and CheeryCherry - you're all taking part in the Flora Buttery product test and this thread is for the first panel activity. Very sorry, with both threads happening at the same time I know how confusing it is! For the product test, you would be using Flora in place of your usual spread, so you can bake with it if you would like to, but if you'd prefer you can just use it for toast etc. The product test feedback thread is here.

For everyone who hasn't received their vouchers yet, I'll send your details on to Flora so that vouchers can be resent to you. Sorry again for the delay.
