NOW CLOSED Mumsnetters needed to test drive the NEW Toyota Verso. Find out more here

We're very excited to be working with Toyota over the next year to celebrate their great range of family cars and we are even more excited to announce that the first thing we're doing is getting MNers behind the wheel of the all new Toyota Verso!

Do you fancy trying out the 7 seat Verso for a fortnight and telling us what you think? You can find out more info about the Verso here - here's what Toyota would like to say about the car: "When it comes to practicality, the Verso is a mum's best friend. Its Easy Flat 7 seating system makes switching between a carload of school friends to a boot full of buggies, a breeze. Thankfully, that doesn't mean it compromises on style and with a sharper, sleeker design, this car creates a powerful presence both on the road and behind the wheel."

Specifically, we're looking for Mumsnetters who have at least 2 children under 10 years and who use the family car to drive their children around most days e.g to/from school, after school activities etc.

The test drives are going to be split into two waves - 4-17 May and 18 May - 1 June, so please only apply if you are around for the duration of one of these waves, and indicate on the sign up form (link below) which wave you'd prefer.

If you're selected to take part, you'll need to pick up the car at your local dealership and Toyota will then arrange to pick the car up from your home at the end of the test.

Testers will be required to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet throughout the duration of the test drive. Additionally, we'd like 5 testers to provide video feedback via their smart phone to demonstrate the versatility of the Verso, so get your thinking caps on for how to show this in a fun and creative way! The 5 testers who are chosen to provide video feedback will each receive a £30 Love2shop voucher as an additional thank you.
The videos will be hosted on the Mumsnet YouTube channel, used on Toyota's pages on MN and possibly elsewhere.

Now the important stuff
In order to take part in the test drive, you must:
~ be a UK resident
~ be aged 25 years old or over
~ hold a valid UK driving license
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.
A driver declaration form will need to be completed; proof of identification and a valid driving licence (both photocard if applicable and paper part) will also need to be presented upon collection of vehicle and continue to be valid before the winner can take the test drive.

If you'd like to take part please sign up here.

We'll be in touch with the chosen few by Monday 29th April. If you're not picked this time, there will be plenty more opportunities to test drive other Toyota models later in the year - keep an eye out for these!

Thanks and good luck!

MNHQ

Ooo I like the look of that! I thought MPVs were all ugly big vans, but this looks lovely!

Done! Will be replacing our huge 7 seater in July and want something smaller but still have option of 7 seats.

Would be fab to have a proper test drive to cover all situations rather than the usual quick run down the road with salesman sat next to me making me nervous

I could vounteer for either date then as I only chose second date as away for a few days during first dates.

The dates are a problem for me too, we are away for both the bank holiday weekends making a Saturday pick up impossible for the first dates (we go on the Fri). I have put down for the first lot of dates but written that I can't pick up till Tues. The second set of dates we are away for half term so would be back lateish on the Sat, but I am a bit nervous if we took it on holiday whether we would get all our stuff in, we usually use a roof box. Would be good to try it on a holiday.

I don't think they thought through the fact that putting the dates as half term and bank hol and restricting it to people with school age children would rule a lot out.

Katie - could you switch me to either set of dates too please? I think we could manage to squeeze all our stuff in, I think it has a bigger boot than our car.

Why 2 children?? I have 2 dogs and 1 bump? Surely that equals 2 children

Would definitely love to give this a go! Am in the market to replace my 7 seater and don't even get chance to look at the specifics for other cars, let alone test drive them. Would be interested to see how it compares to my current 7 seater with space and fuel consumption.

I have 3 children aged 9,6 & 2 so constantly have school pick ups , shopping trips, football sessions, after school activities & prams in & out. I currently drive a 7 seater so I'd love to try this one out to compare the two. We are always out & about so it would get a good road test!! I'd be available for the 2nd wave 18th May - 1st June. Thanks

I've applied but I only have 1 child. However her best friend's mum doesn't drive so I ferry them both around everywhere. AND we have four cats, so their catboxes need seats. AND we're glampers - I want to see if our belltent will fit in the boot!

Please let us be picked!!! We already have (an aging but great) Verso but in the 5 seat version. We hunted around for it as we were so sure it was THE car for us. However, now we actually have the third child there are times when extra seats would be useful. We are already considering up-grading to the 7 seater when i go back to work next year - and there is even a Toyota dealership in the island where we live so it needn't just be limited to the mainland folk! (Our roads can certainly give cars a test!)

Fingers crossed...

Done! Another one who has shortlisted this for the next possible family car. Fuel economy is a good point, but hey ho, most cars we're looking at will be bigger than our current one, so fuel consumption is likely to go up anyway.

MNHQ, I've just realised I wanted to put more on my reasons for taking part... can I PM someone with a little bit extra please?

Done. We're looking at a second 7 seater because our family of 6 had to make do with a BMW 320 when my grand Picasso was off the road for nearly a month! Would be interesting to see how they compare.

Also, could you take the car abroad? The only reason I put down the week I chose is that we're in France in the middle of the other date range :)

In some ways, it'd be perfect if we could take the car abroad - I'm dreading the trip in our current car Blush
