  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

First impression was very positive, packaging is bright and informative.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DD1 (7) was indifferent, however, she is fussy likes raisins but no other berries so this actually quite a positive response for her......DD2 (4) adored it! DS1 (2) refused to try unfortunately.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

Yes, I think this is a huge positive and needs to be clearly highlighted on the packaging. Healthy, nutrious snacks which are priced competitively are definitely of interest.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

Yes I would consider buying it again, finances are tight so it would need to be priced correctly. I am open to trying muffins, bagels etc but again they would need to be priced appropriately (I am most likely to buy when they are on offer)!

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I think I would. It's a healthy snack for the children plus I particularly enjoyed it toasted with butter!

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

I thought it was too much like a normal loaf and not enough like a fruit loaf. It was a bit dry and I felt it had too little fruit in it. Had quite a yeasty smell and artificial sweetness.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

My DD who is a fruit bread fanatic was left unimpressed by this product. She complained about it being dry and when I offered to make it into french toast for her, which is a firm favourite, she refused it!!!

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

If I hadn't tried it it would perhaps sway me towards buying it even though we eat a healthy balanced diet as it is but having tasted it I wouldn't actually buy this product.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I would not consider buying this product as I think there are much better tasting fruit loaves on the market already however I would perhaps give the muffins a go but only if the fruit content is higher than I experienced in the fruit loaf. Not very fond of bagels as find them a bit chewy.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't think I would recommend this product because as I have said before in my opinion there are better fruit loaves on the market.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

Great size for the toaster and I liked the fruity smell.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DD really liked it toasted which was great as she normally hates fruit bread. She liked the fact it tasted just like white bread with fruit in it.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

Yes as it is an easy way for children to get some extra fibre in their diet.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

Yes, will definitely buy fruit & fibre bread (already on the shopping list) and may try other products in the same range.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend it as we really liked the taste and is a quick and easy breakfast or snack.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

We eat fruit bread regularly so was interested to try a new one and compare. It was less sticky and fruity than my usual warburtons one, which I was a bit disappointed about. I dont know if we had some rogue loaves but there wasn't much fruit - DP described it as austerity fruit bread it had so little fruit in!

However i liked the berries in it - I was initially put off by the smell as it seemed very fragranced but the berries were a nice twist on usual ingredients in fruit bread.

It was lovely toasted but not as nice 'raw' as it was quite dry and more bready than fruity

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DD loves fruit bread and wolfed this one down - she liked the berries and said it smelt nice

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

We eat wholemeal bread anyway so I wouldn't necessarily buy it because it was marketed with that banner, but I can see its another option to get whole grains into the family diet

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I think I prefer the warburtons one but it depends on price and as DD liked it, I might buy it as a change for her. We like muffins and bagels so I might buy those, again it depends on price and flavours - I'd want to see how fruity they were

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldnt recommend it as a (traditional) fruit bread but it was a tasty toasted snack so I would recommend it on that basis.

Thanks for letting us try it!

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

I liked that the size is slightly larger than the fruit bread we currently buy. DS1 is very fussy and will eat one slice of toast regardless of the size.

The actual bread seemed very dry, I would not use it without toasting first.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DS1 is so difficult to get to try new things but he look to this right away. He calls it fruity waffles which i think he got from jungle junction!

DS2 will normally eat any bread including our usual fruit bread, with this he picked out the fruit and threw away the bread. there didnt seem to be that much fruit in our batch though. He is only 14 months though so I cant ask him for sure.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

Not in our case, we dont buy breakfasts with lots of sugar anyway and they get plenty of wholegrain whatever I offer them. It is more important to me that they have a healthy, filling breakfast. We have a 1.5 mile walk to school so I need to make sure everyone has lots of energy.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I would buy it for DS1 as I said previously it is a good size and he likes it. The problem is it is too dry to use unless toasted. I currently buy 2 loaves of wholemeal bread and two loaves of fruit bread a week, I may replace one of the fruit loaves i currently buy with kingsmill for DS1 and stick with my original for DS2.
I am now tempted to try the other products as I like to get them to try new things on a regular basis.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I have mentioned it to a friend who's children will only eat white bread, I ended up giving her half of my second loaf. Apparently It was a hit!

Nivet · 28/09/2012 22:05

1) What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?
I liked the small size loaf but my DC are both still young and we would be unlikely to get through a larger loaf size before it went stale. We often buy fruit bread and/or malt loaf and I like the option of a wholegrain product. I thought it smelt very sweet (during toasting DH referred to it smelling like it had been pre-jammed!) and the smell put me off initially - it actually tastes a lot nicer than it smells. I gave the second loaf to my next door neighbour as she is a childminder and I knew we wouldn't eat it all quickly enough - she said her mindees would only eat it toasted.

2) How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product? DS (3) said he liked it and has eaten the majority of it, DD (9 months) didn't seem to like it much but difficult to tell what's going on in her little head Smile

3) Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why? Yes. Similarly I'd be interested in knowing how many slices you'd need to eat to count as one of your five a day?

4) Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not? Yes and yes. I try and rotate bread products to stop the DC getting bored (malt loaf, fruit breads, crumpets, muffins etc. etc.)

5) Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, I probably would.

Roseformeplease · 28/09/2012 22:10
  1. Really liked it, particularly toasted with lots of butter and it is an ideal snack for after school. I like the small sized slices that fit in the toaster.
  1. Both really liked it but commented it was a bit "light" and not very dense. I make a lot of bread and this tastes a bit artificial and cheap rather than luxurious. I was expecting something more like malt loaf but they had no expectations and liked it on the hole. Would definitely buy some and keep in the freezer for after school snacks.
  1. Not sure that this is true really and this kind of claim always makes me suspicious. As long as you recognise it for what it is - cake you can toast - it is fine but it is too sugary to be regarded as genuinely healthy.
  1. Yes, I would buy it and any other products but they would be for occasional treats rather than regular consumption because of the amount of sugar.
  1. Yes, for taste and convenience and for those with healthy metabolisms or growing children. Probably not so good for middle aged spreaders such as myself who can't stop once a loaf is breeched and eats 3 slices in one go.
CheeryCherry · 28/09/2012 23:03
  1. I liked the product, packaging seemed similar to other bread packets. Liked the size of the slices, and thickness was just right.
  2. They both liked it, a lot, were surprised because neither really like blueberries but this was fine. Tried iti both toasted and not...enjoyed both. Seemed dry to touch but didn't taste dry. 3. This fact alone would not make me buy it, my dcs eat well. But yes its an interesting fact to know.
  3. Yes for the children, especially if its on offer. All the family enjoyed it, even my DH. As I bake muffins/suchlike, I wouldn't buy them, but would definately try the bagels, we all like those and don't often make them.
  4. Yes I would,recommend it.
Thankyou!
LeFreak · 28/09/2012 23:26

Received the bread yesterday :)

I haven't had chance to try it yet but I do intend to add my review this weekend when I've had some.

DH had some last night with marmite Hmm , he really liked it and says he's looking forward to some tomorrow with nutella Hmm Hmm

DD and I will be having it with butter :)

madamy · 28/09/2012 23:46

1) What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

Overall, we all quite liked it. My overwhelming thought when I opened the box was that it smelt quite powerfully of the dried berries which put me off a bit! Loaf too small for our family of 3 DC though, it was gone in one sitting - maybe we are just greedy...?

2) How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DD1 (9) loved it, had it untoasted and dry without butter and scoffed 3 slices. DD2 (7) and I liked it toasted with butter, DH sort of liked it - would eat it if we had it in, but wouldn't buy it. Fussy DS (5) was not impressed, but as he doesn't like dried fruit, I wasn't particularly surprised.

3) Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

No - we eat wholemeal bread products and grain type breakfast cereals anyway.

4) Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

Would buy it every now and again as a change, but more for an after school snack or instead of a biscuit. Probably would see other similar bread products the same.

5) Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I might recommend it as a snack food, or as a breakfast product for a treat.

JustMeAndTwo · 29/09/2012 01:10
  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

Liked it; loaf good size, packaging pleasant enough. Slice thickness perfect. Toasted well and not too dry if eaten straight from the packet.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

Yes they did - always asked for more!

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

Yes - must be healthier than not making the effort to provide them with their recommended daily wholegrain.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

Yes I would and yes I would try muffins etc

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. Good all round treat - breakfast, sandwiches (with cheese yum!), toasted, buttered. Much better than white bread and sweet so the children love it!

charlie7 · 29/09/2012 06:07
  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?
We really liked this, the packaging was fine and most of the family enjoyed it.

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?
My eldest daughter and the baby both really enjoyed this, my eldest daughter said it was yummy and wanted some more! The middle, very fussy daughter, didn't like it, she said it had a funny taste- but then she likes very little generally (especially new things!)

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?
I think this would make me more likely to buy it as I already know that we enjoyed it, so it makes it even more appealing.

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?
Yes I would definitely buy it again, I really liked it. And I would try other products in the same range- particularly muffins.

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
    Yes I've already recommended it!

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

I liked it but thought the slices were a little thick.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

Dd loved it. She told me to "definitely put a big, fat yes. I love it"
Ds2 liked it too and actually ate a whole slice which is unusual.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

It wouldn't put me off but wouldn't encourage me either. I'd buy it as a snack but not as a replacement for normal multiseed bread.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I would buy it but as a snack. It's a great alternative to crisps/ biscuits.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it to my friends with children as an alternative snack.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?
We liked it, there was nothing to dislike about the packaging or appearance. Although I liked it, I did feel that the fruit content could have been a little higher for my taste

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?
Both DDs liked it - DD2 especially (she's the fussier one). They regularly eat toasted fruit loaf anyway, either for breakfast or as a snack, and they would be very happy if this one was bought

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?
Whether it was for breakfast or a snack later in the day, I think this would influence my purchase. I struggle to get enough fibre into the diet of DD2, and as she liked it a lot, this would appeal to me.

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?
I would definitely buy the fruit & fibre bread, although it would also depend (at least a bit) on the price of the product
We tend to try a lot of this kind of product anyway, so would be happy to try others. I doubt we would try bagels, as none of us like them (and I have even tried them in the US and didn't like them!)

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend it to others to try as a tasty snack/breakfast with the added bonus of increasing fibre intake. Add some cream cheese and you have some dairy with it too Smile

minimoonumbertwo · 29/09/2012 09:05
  1. My Overall impression was good, I liked the packaging & look of the bread. Myself & dc's thought it was really tasty but dh didn't like the smell.
  1. The children (2&4) really enjoyed the bread toasted with butter. Ds1 says he especially liked the fruit in it and ds2 who doesn't normally eat breakfast had two slices!
  1. This would definitely make me buy the bread. It's a winner if it's good for them AND they like it!
  1. I will definitely buy the bread again as myself and dc really enjoyed it. It's very versatile ie good for breakfast or after school snack. We could be a lot more adventurous with toppings, we only had it with butter (tried with peanut butter which didn't work so well). Good for a portable snack too, much better than biscuit bars etc. The only person in the family who wasn't so keen was dh who didn't like the smell & found it wasn't as satisfying as ordinary toast. I would certainly try different products in the range.
  1. Yes I would recommend to family & friends, I think my mum would love it & my dad suffers from type 2 diabetes so is always looking for healthy snacks.

Thank you!!!

superoz · 29/09/2012 10:01
  1. The packaging was good and similar to other Kingsmill loaves. There was slightly less fruit content than I thought there would be, it is quite sweet and has a very sweet almost synthetic smell. Maybe a bit too sweet for me.
  2. My dd (4) really liked it as she eats hot cross buns, teacakes etc. She was happy to eat it with nothing else on.
  3. We get plenty of fibre from other foods as we buy normal wholegrain/wholemeal bread and get lots of fruit and veg in our diet. It may be a contributing factor but not essential. 4)I'm not sure that I would buy it again because the sugar content does seem high, and sweeter than some of the other fruit breads on the market. If the sugar content was less I would be more likely to buy it. I would try the muffins, bagels etc if they came out.
  4. I would ask people to at least try it as others seem to like it so it's all down to personal taste.
FrillyMilly · 29/09/2012 10:02
  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

I liked the bread and packaging was nice. Didn't really stand out from ordinary brea though. Loved the smell of it toasting but could do with a bit more fruit in it.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

  2. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

DS and DD both wolfed it down. Not sure they would have it for breakfast but a great snack. That message would make me buy it as I want them to have healthy snacks that fill them up.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I would definitely buy it again as everyone enjoyed it. Not sure if I would buy muffins or bagels as don't these tend to be quite sugary? I suppose it would depend on the nutritional information.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend it as it was very tasty.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?
I really wasn't keen on this product. The moment I opened the box it was delivered in, there was an strong artificial smell. This got worse when I opened the bread and toasted it - the artificial fruity smell is still lingering in my kitchen. Unfortunately the flavour of the bread was overpowered by the artificial fruit flavouring. For a product that is supposed to contain real fruit, I fail to understand why there is any need to add artificial flavourings - I'm assuming the problem ingredient is the 'blueberry flavour blackberry pieces'. I could still taste it hours later and it wasn't very nice. On the plus side, I liked the size of the loaves and the slices toasted very nicely.

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?
8yo DD didn't like the product. She didn't like the texture of it in her mouth but says that it would have been nicer if it had more fruit pieces in it.
4yo DD really enjoyed it, he prefers it as dry toast and doesn't like it to be buttered. He would also like more fruit, but I think he will happily eat the rest of the bread we were sent.

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?
I like the idea of having another option for breakfast which contains wholegrain for my children to eat as they are creatures of habit in the mornings. So I might have bought this product to try at least once, based on the message.

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?
I won't be buying this product. Not only do I not like the taste myself, but I can't bear the smell of it when preparing it for my DCs. Assuming that other products on the range are also strongly flavoured with the same sort of artificial taste - I'll be avoiding the whole range.

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
No - because I think it is revolting. Other people might like it, but I couldn't in all honesty recommend it.

Sorry - I really, really wanted to like this product as it sounded just like something we would all enjoy. But the smell/flavouring was a deal breaker for me.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?
packaging suggested it was a loaf packed full of fruit, there was a lower fruit content than I had imagined from the packaging. The loaf was quite coarse but not unpleasantly si

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?
Ds is going through a stage of spitting out 'bits' so he didn't like the fruit!

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?
yes, because I look for palatable ways to feed DS fibre ( once he has got over the spitting out 'bits' stage)

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?
yes I would consider it again depending on the price, but I don't like bagels and am trying to steer DS away from cakes

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? yes, I will mention it to my friends as an option for breakfast

DD wouldn't try it - not keen on fruit bread

  2. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?
Nope - as unfortunately dd doesn't like fruit bread so the amount of whole grain would sway me or her.

Yes I would buy it. It was lovely both toasted and just with butter. I generally find Kingsmill bread a bit to heavy and doughy but this was just right. Don't think it would persuade me to by more Kngsmill products though.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked? I looked good in the packet although the pack was slightly smaller than i had an ticipated. the plan had ben to wait and eat it on sunday morning, but the use by date on the packs we were sent meant we had to eat it yesterday for breakfast instead. once we started to toast it it smelled wonderful but unfortunately the taste was a bit of a disapointment, not enough fruit, so not as tasty as wee had hoped. the plan had been to toast it and eat it with just butter but we ended up puttting jam on too to make it tasty.

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product? my children all ate about 4 slices for breakfast, toasted, but they all wanted to put jam on as they said they coudlnt taste the fruit. they prefer the usual fruity bread we buy.

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why? we usually start the day witth wholegrain cereal and always have wholemeal bread so this isnt really a concern for me.

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not? i dont think we would buy it, no, as it wasnt really fruity enoough to be real fruit bread, we will stick with our usual one.

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? no we woudnt recommend it for the reasons given.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

It looked nice and it felt soft. We tend to buy the same type of bread each week so it made a pleasant change.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product? DD1 (7) says "I liked the cherries in it. I liked the crusts because they had some fruit in too." DD2 (6) says "I liked the crusts because they were soft not hard to eat."

The soft crusts was a major thing for them as this was the first loaf they have had which they did not insist the crusts were cut off.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

It would make no difference to me - they already have plenty of fibre in their diet so it is not something I am looking for in a product.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

I think I would buy again as dds really did like it and even had it as a sandwich with a ham filling! Muffins sound lovely too.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I thought it was nice, but I did not like it enough to rave about it and recommend it to others.

Thanks for letting us try it. Smile

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked? Reminded me of a similar Warburtons product looks wise. I personally didn't like the taste. I found it bland, even when toasted and disliked the apple. I would have liked more raisins/sultanas.

  2. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product? Of the 4 DCs 1 loved it and would happily eat it by the ton toasted or not, 1 didn't like it at all, the other two were non-committal. All said however they felt it would have worked better had the bread been a little sweeter.

  3. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why? My children get plenty of fibre in their diet, I don't feel the need to supplement it in this sort of way.

  4. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not? Probably the bread as an after-school snack. It would be an occasional purchase or when on special offer. As bagels? Probably yes although it would depend on how 'spiced' it tasted.

  5. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? Possibly as an after-school snack.

  1. What was your overall impression of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? Was there anything you particularly liked or disliked?

Overall I liked it. It was different. I liked the not quite white, not quite brown thing. It's sweet, so I think it would only go with butter +/- jam etc, so no good for sandwiches(except jam sandwiches). Nice as an afternoon snack eg instead of a teacake.
I thought there was a slightly odd smell initially each time you open the bag, but it disappears very quickly.

  1. How about your DC? Did they enjoy the taste of Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread or not? Was there anything they particularly liked or disliked about the product?

DD liked it. Plain or toasted, with or without butter. You could eat it just as it is, which akes a much healthier alternative t a slice of cake.

  1. Kingsmill says "By eating a slice of Fruit & Fibre bread, your child will start the day by having 35% of their recommended daily wholegrain" - do you think this message would make you more likely to buy the product or not? Why?

Yes, probably. It's a different way of getting wholegrain into DCs. Wouldn't have it every day.

  1. Now that you've tried it, do you think you would consider buying Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre bread? If so, why? If not, why not? How about other products in the Fruit & Fibre range such as muffins and bagels, do you think you might try any of these? If so why, if not, why not?

Yes. I'd probably buy a loaf to keep in the freezer and take out slices occasionally though. It wouldn't be an every day bread because it's no good for sandwiches. I'd love to try the bagels. I love bagels.

  1. Finally, if it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Kingsmill Fruit & Fibre to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. We enjoyed it. It's tasty and different.
