Hoover are looking for 5 Mumsnetters to put the new Globe Hoover to the test.

This is what Hoover says about the product: "Globe is Hoover's new manoeuvrable range of vacuum cleaners containing patented twist and steer technology allowing you to easily glide around furniture. The compact and lightweight design combines with a self aligning locking mechanism and directional control meaning that Globe is not only easy to manoeuvre but it also effortlessly negotiates obstacles and corners."

In order to really test what the Globe can do, Hoover will be setting challenges for testers to undertake during the trial and then asking them to add their feedback to a thread on MN and, if possible, send in pictures and/or video footage. The challenges include vacuuming around obstacles in the home, hard to reach places and stairs, cleaning up after pets etc. Please note that if you supply any video or photo footage, it may appear on MN, YouTube and/or Facebook.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child. If you wish to take part in this trial please sign up here.

God, yes please! Have an ancient (2nd hand) vaccuum cleaner and would love a new one.

I've signed up. After much research by me earlier this year/last year, we bought a Miele. DH - who does the bulk of the vacuuming - loathes it and says it's rubbish. I don't want to have to Leave The Bastard for dissing Miele so hopefully he can have a new one to try out.

No! The Miele is on my list of things to buy with my lottery win this weekend! Really shit?

Well, my husband was responsible for the awkward lump of a miele which I for one find a right faff and not easy to manoeuvre (sp??).

He is blinded by gadgetry and product snobbery however and practical every day use didn't factor in the purchasing process.

Done. I hope its lightweight manoeuvrable design means the DCs will use it more often than they use the ancient Dyson, I might have to pay them more than 10p a room too!

Ok, that's a lie, but I do do it a bloody lot.

I have a dog, 2 cats, a crawling baby and a crappy Dyson that won't work on my crappy laminate floor so I have to take the nozzle out and do it with the weird brush attachment thingy. (which I incidentally use for every cleaning job including the front door step)

I have to hoover every hour or so at the moment because the bloody animals won't stop bloody moulting every-fucking-where

I think 'pet' vacuums must actually be shitter than the bog standard version. I have to brush my carpets with a stiff brush first and regularly have at the brush head with scissors. DD and I both have long hair, which adds to the woe.

MNHQ, have I mentioned how good I would be at this test? Cos I would be. I'd have a mini obstacle course for that vacuum, it'd be like Vacuum Boot Camp.

I've signed up but if I do get it this will mean my husband might actually make me do some hoovering. It can't possibly be worse than the second hand dyson which does bugger all.

Signed up! Another sufferer of DH-will-choose-the-technology Dyson. He reckoned it was the best on the market when he we bought it.
He has to do the lugging about now, as it is like moving a small, but dense darlek around the house. A darlek that isn't much interested in cleaning, either.

I'd love to test drive a Globe - it sounds ideal for us. I did boggle a bit at one of the pictures on the website. It reminded me somewhat of a rampant rabbit . Was that just me?

Ooo pls pick me. Similar to MyDog I've got two cats, a dog, a crawling child and a 3 yo. And a DH who thinks that a fairy hoovers or rather that because we have a cleaner once a week we never need to hoover in between and I've got really crap weak hands so need something light and maneouvreable

Have signed up, I currently have a henry which is a pain in the backside to use on stairs and is not great to get around corners either. I previously had a philips universe which was much better than henry!
