I was one of the Mners that got the goodie bag and to meet Davina and the other lovely Mners. I have been using Garnier Ultralift SPF15 for years during the day and at night I've used Garnier Youthful Radiance.

Yes I did. I got a bigger version in the goodie bag and I measure four. I tried to be scientific about it and remember the conditions, so it was in daylight with a smile on my face, measuring the crow's feet around my eyes. I was surprised at how many others in this thread read only 1 or less, as I thought I was quite young looking!

I'm mid-thirties and have only just recently noticed them becoming permanent. So fairly new and shallow, but starting to increase. I have been warned by a local beatician (last time I went for a massage) and by Davina, that when you hit forty you really notice a difference... so becoming more aware of them.

Having used it for years I like the smell and how it feels. It really suits my skin. Absorbs nicely.

Athough I've been using it in the day for years, I started using the Ultralift Night instead of my usual night cream, and I have to say my skin does feel softer, and, depending on tiredness/energy levels, my skin does look better I think. Using the wrinkle reader I thought it had gone down to a 2

Yes definitely. I've been happy with it for a while. You can get it on special offer sometimes! But if I ran out I would still pay £9 for it.

Yes, if someone asks me how I manage to look young, I tell them I use it. Though they could be referring to my clothes...

Don't forget your neck
Moaning is futile.
Wax, don't shave
Garnier Ultralift, she really does use it! And genuinely loves it.
Her 94 year old Granny is beautiful.

Avoid sun as much as possible

Sleep, don't smoke and don't drink alcohol (boo to that one!)

Smile.

Have separate bathrooms to your DH!

Annie, I met you on the "Davina Day" and you have great skin and do look really young. If you're a 4, I'm at least a 5 or 6! I'm going to have another look at the wrinkle reader in brutal daylight and with a very big smile...

Ok, with no smile I'm a 1, with a really big cheesy smile I would say I'm a 5.

Dear Garnier Ultralift, I think you need to be a bit clearer about how to use the wrinkle reader as I didn't do it properly at the start of the challenge - which is why so many of us were a 1!

Don't really feel that bothered, not very pronounced as yet. Part of getting older.

Smelt fine. Was comfortable on skin, no stinging or reaction. Absorbed ok but left skin greasy so make it difficult to apply make up (mineral powder) and not be left with shiny skin

Yes - it made my skin breakout. After less than a week my forehead was covered in spots. I am prone to breakouts but not normally on my forehead, just my chin! Not compared after use as I stopped using it.

No - Would perfer to have wrinkles than spots at my age! However price is ok.

Felt I was looking a little 'old' have had to use excema cream around eyes in the pass which thinned the skin

Didn't really notice the smell but felt it absorbed easily. Did get a slight tingly sensation but no adverse reaction as I often get to face cream

Skin definately felt softer but I had to be really careful where I used it as I began to get a few spots which I rarely get. Think that maybe I have dropped a grade on the wrinkle reader but hard to tell

Will use it until it runs out but this is a luxury item an we can not afford luxery items

I hope that I am someone that will age gracefully, but there is no harm in doing what I can to delay the onset/severity. At the moment, I am noticing fine lines, where I imagine the wrinkles to properly set in one day.
~ How did it smell and how did it feel on your skin? Did it absorb easily? I thought the smell was wonderful - it wasn't an overpowering scent, but it was luxurious. The skin-feel was great, it absorbed quickly and easily and felt good on my skin.

I think that some of my fine lines have disappeared. Was any difference noticeable against the UltraLift wrinkle reader? As I wasn't on the scale to begin with, I didn't notice a difference.

~ Any other comments? As others have commented, SPF in the cream seems to be the thing lacking and I would certainly pay a little more to have that included.

1...Dp reckoned I was 1 or less on wrinkle reader around eyes.

2...They are quite shallow round eyes.Don't mind that.I don't like the ones down from my nose and under eyes.

3...Quite a strong smell.Felt it stung at first but after a few applications it stopped stinging.Absorbed easily.

4...Skin felt smoother.Think it has made difference round eyes.However got spots which I am not prone to.

5...I don't think I will use it again as quite a strong smell and think spots an issue.

6...Would tell people my experience.

7...Agree with other posters about where it could be used.Will try on wrinkles on other parts of face.Thank you for the chance to try it.

would like to add, in the past couple of days have received several compliments about looking really radiant, looking particularly bonny etc. And I do actually now think my crows eyes are less noticeable.

I liked the smell, didn't find it too strong. Also liked the texture. It absorbed easily.

Not as far as a decrease in fine lines but it left my skin feeling moisturised and soft.

I think that's reasonable. I don't tend to stick to one brand but would definitely consider it along with others.

If it came up in conversation, yes, but I don't normally swap anecdotes about about moisturiser with people.
Any other comments? I think I would have used it more sparingly had I paid for it myself. But I enjoyed testing it, thanks for choosing me.

Another one here who was on the day with Davina.

I've only just started using the products. I have developed a fairly habitual skincare regime, and have been using some really expensive skincare products, following a couple of microdermabrasion sessions. Although I think I have been seduced by their marketing, and was at the price I found myself paying for the products, I have been strangely reluctant to give them up and start using something so cheap. Even though I work in marketing myself, I find it very difficult to break away from the 'cheap = ineffective/expensive = great results' frame of mind .

I, too, found the wrinkle reader difficult to use. I wasn't sure if we should be smiling when comparing ourselves to the pictures. If I'm not smiling then I'm around a 1-2, but it's different when I'm smiling. The light you use also makes a big difference! I think I'm around 3-4, but I'm going to check again later.

I wasn't looking forward to using the cream, given the comments about the smell, but I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I had to sniff it twice in the pot to work out what on earth everyone was talking about! It's a perfectly pleasant fragrance.

My plan is to use the day cream with SPF, the eye cream and the night cream - I will still use my normal cleansing/toning products before hand.

initially I thought I wasn't on the reader at all but when I smiled I could probably be a four. I actually found it really difficult to establish what grade I was, which made me feel it was going to be equally difficult to determine if there was any improvement after the test.

Part of me! Crow's feet don't annoy me as I associate them with smiling, the only wrinkle which really irritates me is one one between my eyebrows which is quite deep and veers off towards one side. Any wrinkles on my forehead are covered by my hair.

i thought the smell was very pleasant and the cream felt very light and absorbed really easily. big thumbs up from me on that part.

My skin does seem smoother and brighter and to have a better texture. I can't say that I have noticed any improvement against the wrinkle reader though. I think that's a bit of a gimmick, tbh.

Someone complained about the plastic pot but as I have been away twice since I started the test, I thought that a positive bonus as I took the whole pot with me and didn't have to worry about decanting it.

The only one I really dislike is the deep groove in the middle of my forehead. The others are just parting of getting older.

I thought it had a fresh smell. If aborbed well and felt good on my skin. Also keeps quite matt on the greasier parts of my face.

I attended 'Davina Day' and had a fabulous time! Meeting the other MNs was a pleasure - as always! - and Davina was great fun, very bubbly and high on life. She's very professional but comes across as genuine, very good at making people feel at ease and we were all chatting away very quickly. Throwing herself across the laps of those on the sofa was a great ice-breaker.

She obviously feels strongly about the quality of the product and was knowledgeable and funny about her beauty routine. Her main message was, get plenty of sleep, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol (I wish!), keep out of the sun or use protection, take some time for yourself (bath time is sacrosanct) - and her photo of her granny, who slathered herself in cold cream, was lovely. We all felt we'd be happy to have a girls' night out with Davina. And her excellent tip about having separate bathrooms is one I can only aspire to...

Now, to the Garnier test:

I tried the reader, but unless I smiled, I was less than a 1. Are we supposed to smile when doing the test? If I grin broadly, I can be a 10!

I'm very lucky that despite being the top end of the demographic for this, wrinkles are not an issue yet; I have a few shallow lines on my forehead if I frown very hard, and laughter lines when I laugh, but they don't worry me. I would never do botox, but then my mother is 87 and doesn't have huge wrinkles, so I just hope my genes hold out.

I quite like the smell and it feels light, rich and creamy on the skin. Absorbs easily and leaves my face feeling supple.

Face looks the same as with my old product, but feels moisturised for longer, without feeling greasy. The skin feels very soft and smooth. No difference against the wrinkle reader, but I didn't have much to read. The real test will be, whether it stays that way over the next few years if I keep using the product!

Quite possibly, it's a bit more expensive than what I was using before, but if I can find a lower price offer, I will definitely keep using it.

I think I wasn't on the scale when I got the reader and cream, but didn't start using the cream for a few days, by which time I felt like I had to try place myself on the scale and plumped for grade 3. I'm a bit unsure about that though.

Well I do think there was a difference, say to a grade 2, but since my crows feet varied in the days leading up to starting the test I'd struggle to say any improvement was wholly down to the cream.

~ Any other comments? Bit short sighted not to have SPF in face cream, especially for a test starting in spring/early summer. I'm moving back to using a face cream with SPF now.

I liked the smell? It was subtle and pleasant. The feel of the cream was excellent. It made my skin softer and Absorbed really well. My skin is normal to oily and I hate creams that make it greasier. this left no residue at all.

I couldn't see any difference in the wrinkles or lines on my face but there was a definite improvement in the feel of my skin. Since I use cream infrequently, perhaps this would be the result of using any good cream.
