NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Forgot to say I tested the washing powder, sorry

gilliancd · 03/05/2012 09:30

Thank you for the washing powder. I think I have brought a tesco eco powder before, but I have to admit I don't go to Tesco that often as its a bit of a trek!
I was happy with the results and the smell but have found the powder tends to clump in the washing machine drawer so I'm not sure how much is getting into the wash.
I do like the fact that it is a green product but like most people cost and value for money are a big part of what I buy these days.

Antibacterial Spray
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't noticed them & I often shop in Tesco - I have tried Ecover before & not been impressed so I avoid the eco products

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Good, spray cleaned well & smelt ok

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I use dettol or supermarket's own version, worked just as well

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
all things being equal, price, efficacy etc then I would choose the greener version

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes if price remains comparable

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
When the nozzle is open and you squeeze the bottle slightly it squirts out. Mine leaked slightly in the post too - I think the packaging needs to be looked at as the first time it leaked over my shopping would be the last time I bought it

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would

I was testing the Anti Bac spray,

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Had looked at them on the shelf but I am a creature of habit unfortunatley and seem to always go for my usual products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I thought the smell was nice, and so far the product has been working on the work tops, table etc. It was nice to know that I was using a 'green' product and limiting the harmful chemicals we all use everyday.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The spray seems to be holding it's own compared to my usual brand on the day to day tasks.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like the idea of 'green' products and since having my 3rd Son a week ago feel a bit more strongly about this.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
So far I am happy with the spray, so am less likely to just look at the bottle now on the shelf and I would probably buy it.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I can't think of any as it does what it's supposed to.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would talk about the product I was testing and how I was a bit surprised it worked ok.

missmuddle · 03/05/2012 10:46

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

More expensive and not as effective

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I did not notice a difference between my usual product and the test product in its cleaning power however the washing did not smell as nice as it usually does

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

see above.

Would have preferred a taqblet as its much messier using a powder as opposed to liquid or tablets.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would like to start using green products as I am very enviro friendly in general however it would depend on price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Depend on price and probably not unitil it was a tablets or liquid

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The box was very flimsy
The green eco credentials not visible enough on the packaging
Would prefer a tablet or a liquid

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't talk about washing powder to my friends but if it did come up in conversation probably not

pithy · 03/05/2012 10:53
  1. The promise of a product with reduced toxicity attracted me.
  2. A powdery residue remained on a dark wash. A cloud of powder flew from dried drainpipes as I tried to fit them post wash.
I liked the subtle fragrance of the product. But like many respondents, I double dosed, thinking one cup was equal to the small supplied cardboard measuring cup! Clumps of sodden powder remained in the washing machine drawer. Green credentials are important but do not replace efficacy.
  1. If the product were to be reasonably priced and less chalky, I might buy and recommend.

Tested the anti-bac spray and the sachet of washing up liquid

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Had never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The spray smelled nice and fresh and worked well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually buy Tesco value or Aldi anti-bac spray and it worked just as well as them.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Cost is a major feature when I'm purchasing cleaning products. I'm not seduced by brand names, and will always buy the cheapest version, provided it works.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

It would depend how competitive the price was.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The spray is very nice - nothing to change, the washing up liquid was ok, but nothing special.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the spray.

WilliamItWasReallyNothing · 03/05/2012 10:54

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't previously seen them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the anti bac spray and found it very good at removing greasy marks from worktops and tables. It smelt lovely and fresh.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked as well as my normal products and I preferred the smell too.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Green credentials can affect my decision to buy a product but I generally look at which products are on offer first.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I don't normally shop in Tesco but if I was in store again and needed cleaning products I would certainly buy again.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would be happy to recommend them.

BornToFolk · 03/05/2012 11:03

I'm testing the non-bio powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Initial thoughts were positive. I liked the small box (fits easily into my cupboard!) and the little measuring cup is v handy, I especially like that it's cardboard. I was a little annoyed at the double-packaging (bag inside box) and thought it smelt v strong in the box.

After using it, I thought that it performed quite well at cleaning. Clothes all came out looking clean. However, they had no scent at all, despite the powder being quite strong in the box. I don't like strong scent but I do like clean clothes to smell clean! I also thought that they felt rougher than usual.
Some powder stayed in the drawer too, which was irritating as I had to clean it out.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as well in terms of cleaning, worse in terms of scent and dissolving. I normally use either Ecover non-bio or Fairy/Persil non-bio, depending on what's on offer.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Quite important. As stated, I often use Ecover and was hoping that this would be a cheaper alternative but the performance is not as good.

I am also not clear about what the "green credentials" of the Naturally Powered range actually are! On the box, it just says that some of the ingredients are naturally derived which is very vague. I've found more information on the website but I think there needs to more on the box as at the moment, I would not choose it over another brand just by looking at the box.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would not buy this powder again. I may try other products from the range.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Lose the inner bag, change the scent so it lingers more, make it dissolve better so it doesn't leave a mess in the drawer.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, for the reasons stated above. A washing powder would have to be brilliant for me to recommend it and this just isn't.

BeyondAnyTherapy · 03/05/2012 11:05

I tested the antibacterial spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The product worked well and I liked the smell. The spray bottle was fine (same as most products in this range), however found it slighty leaky.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well, maybe even slightly better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Green is important to me, but unfortunately keeping within my budget is more so...however, if the price was the same I would choose the green version first.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If the price is right then yes - I like the washing up liquid tester packet so will also be looking at the price of this.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Nothing to the product itself, but the container could be improved by stopping the leakage.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, both the spray and washing up liquid.

I tested the antibacterial spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had seen them instore when passing to buy my usual products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The spray smelt lovely, not too strong and it did clean well , even removing blackcurrant stain off worktopGrin i also found the trigger top a bit leaky though.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

not quite as well as my usual brand but very close second

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I like my products to clean it right 1st time so less is used i do my green bit that way.It wouldnt make me go out specifically to buy it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I liked the washing up liquid very much so next time i need some i would buy it instead of my usual brand, not sure about the spray just yet though.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Id change the bottle trigger for a more sturdier one as this one is a bit flimsy and leaky.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes ive totally fallen in love with the washing up liquid very nice in my opinion if tesco sorted out the bottle on spray id be tempted to promote that too Grin

mychildrenarebarmy · 03/05/2012 12:58

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't seen them before so didn't have much of an opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was quite pleased with the spray. The smell was nice, not over-powering at all. I used it on a neglected hob and it seemed to work the same as the Ecover all purpose spray. Both needed elbow grease but left a nice clean surface. I prefer the smell of the Tesco spray.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

See answer to 2 - it seems equally effective.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

They are very important to me. I try to limit chemical use in my cleaners, partly for eco reasons and partly because some seem to irritate my son's asthma.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I think I would buy this product in future.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would suggest using it with a micro-fibre cloth as this seemed to work really well.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would, I have a lot of friends who use similar products so they would be interested to know how well it works.

lydonsmum · 03/05/2012 13:06

Testing the anti bac spray
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Product works well, but smell is far too strong for me. It catches the back of my throat!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Much the same

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
They are fairly important, but I am also influenced by price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I won't buy it due to the strong lemon scent

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Reduce the strength of lemon scent!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably, but would highlight very strong lemon scent

BestLaidPlans · 03/05/2012 13:10

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I used to like the almond fabric softener that was discontinued, but not sure if that was the same range. I hadn't tried anything else, as I was happy with Method.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I really liked the laundry powder, especially the small dose as I worry about powder clogging the machine. It was effective even on things worn by The World's Grubbiest Toddler. It smelled fine.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as effective.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important. I try and buy eco wherever possible.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If it's reasonably priced, definitely.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make the eco credentials more explicit on the packaging.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. The powder was effective. I liked the low dosage because it reduces the risk of clogging and takes up less space in my tiny, tiny cupboard.

Merrylegs · 03/05/2012 13:13

Testing the washing powder.

  1. Hadn't seen the range before.
  1. Powder smelt nice in the box but no discernible lingering smell on wash - which I would have quite liked.
  1. Washed as well as any other powder I have used. I have a toploader American washing maching with no dispenser drawer so the powder goes straight into the wash. It dissolved well and there were no residual marks on the clothes. I don't have a regular powder but I do like the smell of Fairy.
  1. Am v keen on 'greener' cleaning products as we are not on mains water or drainage here so all residual water is filtered into the reed beds. I try to avoid corrosive or harsher products.
  1. Yes I will probably buy Tesco Naturally powered range - I like the idea of buying green and I assume as it's own brand it will be cheaper.
  1. Improvements? Yes - why not just put the powder in the box and have it open sideways for easier pouring? The inner plastic bag is unecessary and messy. Also I would have liked a hint of the fresh scent I can smell in the box on the washing.
  1. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it but I would certainly say it was a perfectly OK washing powder.

Thank you!

Woodlands · 03/05/2012 13:22

I tested the anti-bacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them before this test. I am fairly ambivalent towards eco-friendly products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Yes, the spray cleaned very effectively. I liked the smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It probably worked a bit better than the spray I normally use. I liked the smell of the washing-up liquid but the bubbles disappeared more quickly than with normal products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like the fact that it is eco-friendly but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to select them on this basis. I don't really understand what makes them more eco-friendly than normal products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I might look out for it but it would depend on price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
No improvements.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, probably.

LadyofWinterfell · 03/05/2012 13:27

Antibac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I hadn't heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? They were good, but struggled with our (admittedly ancient) cooker top. Fragrance was lovely, first thing i noticed! We rarely wash up so haven't used the liquid yet.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? Worse, but i use very harsh products usually.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Not really, i'm more concerned with effectiveness. That said i would buy the antibac spray again.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes but limited to cleaning sprays.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? None, they did what they were supposed to!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would be an odd conversation, but yes, probably!

CointreauVersial · 03/05/2012 13:34

I used the Antibac Spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never heard of them before, but the pack looked nice, clean and modern.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Spray worked well, cut through the mess on my worktops. Smelled quite nice. I did have to buff afterwards to avoid streaking (granite)

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

TBH I don't normally use a spray, just a dab of washing up liquid on a cloth, so this was actually easier.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not hugely important, I'm afraid. I don't normally buy eco products because I don't think they will work as well, but the spray might change my mind!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If the price is right, yes I might do!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The trigger spray dribbled product very badly after use (it seemed to be stored up behind the nozzle)

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Can't imagine it coming up, but yes I would.

Jo178 · 03/05/2012 13:35

Tested the Anti-Bacterial Spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I thought they sounded interesting as there isn't a wide range of natural cleaning products that actually work. I loved the fact that the cleaning ingredients were plant based and that the product had been dermatologically tested too.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the spray on a range of surfaces including the sink, work top and hob. I was surprised by how well the spray worked on a stainless steel greasy hob and didn't leave as many streaks as my usual product. The smell was pleasantly fresh and not as chemical as some others. Overall I was impressed by the cleaning power. The look of the product is nice, I prefer the muted colours and the clear bottle to some other cleaners. The product looks 'green'. I also liked the additional information in the bottle such as the fact the bottle is 100% recycled, it supports the production of sustainable palm oil and that it's suitable for vegans. Because it kills germs and viruses and offers taint free cleaning I felt confident to use this spray on
the area of the kitchen where my babies bottles and food are prepared. I usually use a separate spray for this.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well if not better as my usual product. I was pleased that it didn't leave as many steaks on some stainless steel surfaces and it cleaned off quickly and easily.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

This is an issue which has become increasingly important to me and is starting to affect my decision to buy certain products. I really liked that it does the same job at killing bacteria and viruses as my usual cleaner despite the ingredients being plant derived. I also liked that it supports the production of sustainable palm oil.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will definitely look out for it in store. If the price was comparable to my usual brand then it's something I would definitely replace my usual spray with especially if the claim that you need to use less is accurate.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I'd definitely recommend this to a friend. The product looks impressive, works well on all surfaces and does everything that my usual spray does whilst being 'green'.

SciFiFan · 03/05/2012 13:35

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

To be honest I'd never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I have the non-bio washing powder and I have been pleasantly surprised. The performance is as good as my normal powder if not better. The smell is really fresh and not too over-powering. I have also been impressed by how little powder I need to use to get results.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked as well as if not better than my normal powder. Most stains apart from felt tip (which my normal powder also can't touch) were removed. I've done about half a dozen loads both coloured and white and have been very impressed with the performance.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Green credentials are fairly important but this also tends to get weighed against price. It would need to be at least reasonably priced in comparison to a normal own-brand powder for me to consider swapping.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I'll definitely check out how it compares price-wise to my normal powder. The only other thing in it's way is that I don't often shop at Tesco's.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I was surprised their wasn't more reference to Tesco's on the packaging. As I had never heard of it before I would probably have dis-trusted it if I'd seen it on a shelf. With the Tesco's name I would have been assured that it came from a good source.

Also not sure about the longevity of the paper measuring cup though it is quite cute. With a bigger box would it still be usable after 20/30 loads??

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. I've already recommended it to my mother in law Smile

I'm testing the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of them before applying for the trial. If I had seen them, I would have probably assumed they were expensive and headed straight for my usual washing gel

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

My first impression was that the fragrance was pleasant and the little paper dosing cup was very sweet and nicely recycleable. Upon using, I was much less impressed as there always seems to be a lot of powder left in the drawer after a wash has finished no matter how far to the back I try to put the dose. I feel like my wash is being done with water rather than any soap and when you're washing underwear (especially that of small children) at reasonably low temperatures, that's not a good thing. I have also found that some clothes are coming out with white marks on them which I assume is more unused powder and is not good. The products feel nice but then I am still using my original fabric conditioner so I can't be sure if the powder has made any difference. Apart from the white marks, things seem to be as clean as usual

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The powder seemed to wash as well but is sticky-ing up my machine and leaving white marks on clothes which my old liquid gel doesn't.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

If it were close in price and worked as well as my normal liquid gel, I would swap as I am always looking for ways to make the way we live a little greener, I think it's important, but I don't like the way it's sticking up my washing machine drawer or leaving marks on my clothes so I won't be swapping.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

As above

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would ditch the plastic liner from the box and would do something to make the powder dissolve more effectively so that it didn't get left behind in the drawer. It also needs to rinse better. I'd be much keener in a gel version to be honest.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, because I haven't been impressed. Sorry.

Hi, I received the washing powder and sachet of washing up liquid. Thanks!
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Had no clue they existed.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Washing powder worked, smelt ok, clothes came out clean, some stains all gone. Really liked the cardboard cup for measuring and the size of the box - used to big huge boxes!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Use Persil or Fairy, I like those smells, this didnt really smell of anything, otherwise cleaning the same.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, but if its competitively priced.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Dont shop at Tesco much but will look for offers on this range.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Nont really, I understand smell/fragrance needs chemicals to last.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, would recommend to friends who are into green products and who shop at Tesco.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Tbh, haven't really noticed them on the shelves. When I finish my products, I usually replace it with the same.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the antibacterial spray. It worked surprisingly well! I was surprised that it work just as well as my usual product, keeping my kitchen and dining rooms clean. I didn't have to use more of the spray. The liquid consistency is just right.

I wasn't keen on the smell of the product. For a 'natural' product, it smelt too much of chemicals to me.

I also had a tester of the washing liquid. It didn't work as well as my usual brand. I found I had to use more, which is obviously not economical. I think it was because the product was more watery than my usual and didn't seem to soap up as well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked the same as my usual product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It's very important. If I was to buy a "green" product, I would expect it to be "green". It would have to have credentials, otherwise I might as well buy my usual products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would definitely consider swapping my usual brand for the Tesco Naturally Powered range if the price was lower. The product worked well, so no reason not to change, especially with it being greener!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Improvements to the smell. It smelt far too much of chemicals. Otherwise, very happy.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely! The product worked well and am assuming it's cheaper than my usual brand. Anything to save a few pennies!
