NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I tested the spray...

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I generally have a higher opinion of things that imply they are made with natural ingredients.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

yes it definitely worked. It left my worktops clean, and streak free. They remain shiny for some time after using it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

was just as good as Ecover spray

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Its very important to me, and would always influence my decision to buy

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

probably, depending on the price

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

for some reason it makes me sneeze! So I would sort that out :)

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes

I tested the soap powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
^The smell of the powder is so strong that I knew what it was before I even opened the box! I didn't mind because it was a nice scent, just overpowering. I liked the packaging (love the little measuring cup!) but I was actually a bit disappointed with the performance. I have a toddler and a 7mo. I washed some bibs with various food marks on, a towel the baby got a little bit of sick on, jeans the 2yo got muddy marks on, a top he got felt tip on, and various other pieces to make up a 6kg load. I used the recommended amount of powder and put it on the usual cycle and while the clothes were clean, the marks weren't gone they were just faded. The baby food and sick had gone pale orange, the pen pale green, the mud marks pale mud colour. Usually I wouldn't pre-treat these other than to rinse off any solid bits as my usual powder gets them out.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
See above!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Mildly important but not vital. If the green product was significantly more expensive I'd buy the not-so-green cheaper one but if the price and quality between two products was comparable I'd pick the green one.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
After reading the reviews I'll be giving the spray a go next time I go shopping but I doubt I'll buy the soap powder again as I don't think it stands up against others I've used.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The smell is overpowering before use and virtually non-existent afterwards, maybe more of a balance between the two? Better capability at stain removal too. And I know it's a tiny issue but the reclosable bit on the box, where you slide the tab into the slot, the tab was too short to fit properly into the slot so it kept popping open.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd recommend the spray and say it got good reviews. I'd mention the soap powder as being worth a try but that I didn't think much of it.

Henwelly · 02/05/2012 12:01

I tested the spray and the washing up liquid.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I was not aware of them so did not have an opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Overall I liked both of the products, the spray and liquid worked well in the kitchen. They smelt nice. The spray did not seem quite as effective cleaning my bathroom and needed a little help.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

They worked just as well (my current spray also needs help in the bathroom), the spray has the added bonus of being anti-bacterial. However I am concerned that this will require extra chemicals that I am trying to avoid.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It is reasonably important, more important to me is the toxic nature of cleaning products and what chemicals they contain that could be harmful to my family such as Parabens etc. The two credentials (green & non-toxic) would affect my decision to buy, not just the green one

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If I couldnt buy my usual brand, then yes I would. I will need to research more into the chemical content and if I feel they are suitable for my family I would be likely to change to this brand.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Not sure

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not at present, unless they wanted purely greener products

Pascha · 02/05/2012 12:38

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had taken very little notice as I usually buy my cleaning products elsewhere

Q2. After using the products, what was your overall opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I used the kitchen spray and I was pleasantly surprised to find it cleans as well as any of the leading brands. DH says its smells nice and fresh and not chemical, I have little sense of smell so I take his word for it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
As well as anything else.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
They are reasonably important, I like my products to be ecologically sound if possible. I would consider buying this but only if it was a comparable price. I wouldn't pay a premium.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes I will consider it as long as its cheap.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The spray feels clunky in my hand, I would prefer a more ergonomically shaped neck of the bottle.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend it because it smells fresh and its good at the job.

bigbadbarry · 02/05/2012 12:40

Mine finally arrived! Marking place, off to do some laundry :)

RoscoPColtrane · 02/05/2012 12:44

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

not really taken much notice

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

good performance, lovely fresh non chemical smell

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

worked just as well

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

fairly important, I would like to buy again but get swayed by cheaper products

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

possibly, more likely if they are on offer

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

none

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes, if only because it smelt so nice!

mymar · 02/05/2012 12:52

I am testing the antibac spray. I thought the smell of it was more user friendly, less smelly.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I have never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I thought it compared reasonably to the most expensive anti - bacterial products already out there.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The spray compared just as well as more usual cleaning products. As there is no way of testing if it actually kills 99.9% o bacteria on looks it certainly did as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not sure what naturally powered means?? it 'states you use less whilst achieving the same result' not sure if that is true, as when you spray you spray the same amount as with all products. As to the green element, if this spray is has the same price range then I would certainly consider it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
It would depend on the price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
not any that I can think of

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If my friend was looking for a green cleaning product then I would probably suggest she tries it.

TheEpilator · 02/05/2012 12:57

Have just noticed that the spray has two settings - spray and stream - so if you are finding it a bit too powerful, like me you probably have it on 'stream' rather than 'spray'.

I have also just picked it up off the windowsill and had it squirt at me and then drip all over the floor, so the nozzle definitely needs improvement.

I agree with someone else who said that the branding looks scientific rather than 'green'. It reminds me of those 'space age' 1950-60s prints, evoking images of new technology.

WalkingOnLego · 02/05/2012 13:07

I tested the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I'm afaid I had not heard of them before. I have used "eco" products in the past and not been very impresssed by them so have tended to avoid them until testing the Naturally Powered powder

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I thought the washing powder was fantastic. Smells really nice (not at all thta over-powering chemical smell you usually get with washing powders that make your nose itch). I have done 4 washes with it so far - 2 at 30 degrees and 2 at 40 - and everything has come out looking fresh and clean, smelling nice, and really quite soft as well. I would usually use fabric conditioner, but i the interests of testing the powder I didn't and the clothes did not really seem to need it either.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It woked just as well if not better. I don't really usually inspect my washing afterwards, but Naturally Powered even made my sons very grubby dungerees clean and fresh which is no mean feat.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would be more likely to buy this now knowing that the powder both works very well and is ecologically friendly

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would definitely buy this and probably try out other products from the range - although price would also be a factor

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not

Have already mentioned it (due to doing the testing) and recommended it to one friend

BoysWillGrow · 02/05/2012 13:11

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tested the antibacterial spray, overall look and feel of it was nice, I liked the smell and preferred the look of the bottle to my usual spray. However I was disappointed in its performance, I used it after a family meal to clean up the mess left behind on my sons booster seat and table after a curry. It doesn't help at all on dried on food, and I resulted in using a scrouer to get the mess up.
It was then only used after cleaning up to give my work tops and table a nice smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It doesnt come close in how well it cleans, I usually use tesco's daisy brand. However the smell is much better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes it is important, it would only affect my decision to buy though if I knew it worked.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Only if it was on offer as I'd use it to just freshen up the kitchen, I wouldn't buy it to replace what I already get. As it just doesn't work as well.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Make it stronger to be able to clean dried on food mess. That's it!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If only to say it smells nice, but not to rate its performance.

karen3w · 02/05/2012 13:11

I received my washing powder yesterday, just washing with it for the first time, will post back later.

GrossePopel · 02/05/2012 13:24

Actually dayofthetriffids has picked up on something I hadn't. I compared the ingredients and claims against my dettol spray (that doesn't claim to be natural) and they are very, very similar. Confused

spewgloriousspew · 02/05/2012 13:39

Testing the spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of them - don't do my main shop at Tesco. But I have used eco-products before and was hoping this would be a bit more effective.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Really like the spray. Was previously using a white vinegar product, which I'm not sure is antibacterial. Eco-products are generally a bit wishy-washy but I was pleasantly surprised. Nice smell - smells like it actually does something and fresh. Strong spray action.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

This cleans a lot better than the product I was using before.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Important. I don't like spraying harsh chemicals all over the place, particularly not on the highchair etc. I would like to know if it is BUAV-approved though. I prefer to buy products that have not been tested on animals, but (unless I missed it), there was no no indication of this on the packaging. It says suitable for vegans, so I would assume that this means no animal testing, but you can never be sure.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If I am shopping in Tesco, then yes. However, we don't have one in walking distance from us (well, only a small Express, rip-off one. Not one where I would actually shop).

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Just clarification on the animal testing issue

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, providing it isn't tested on animals.

Loveacuppa · 02/05/2012 13:49

Did anyone else have a problem with the post? Our normally v.good-at-leaving-parcels-nicely-tucked-away-out-of-sight postman either had an off day, or had been substituted for the day, so our parcel went back to the depot. Entailed a 12-mile-round-trip (country living) with cross toddler in back of car. I only bothered coz I thought it was a birthday present for him. Note to Tesco - next time can you jiffy-bag the products so they will squidge through the letterbox?!

Q1. Never heard of them, so no opinion

Q2. Product seems to clean fine - we have dark granite worktop and multicoloured ice-cream-picture plastic table cloth, both of which are good at hiding marks. Didn't see any marks after using products though, so am thinking they are clean. Spray bottle was good. Don't like the smell though - I know some people like the cleaning-product smell (shows the house has been cleaned) but I much prefer a floral / lemon scent. Cleaning product smell makes me think of public toilets.

Q3. The same

Q4. I do like the idea of green products - don't like the thought of polluting our beautiful countryside/rivers/lakes for the sake of having a clean kitchen table. Having said that, I generally buy what is on offer in supermarket - am one of those bad people who think nicely but act differently.

Q5. Unlikely due to smell issue.

Q6. Scented version - maybe meadow flowers, or something that smells nice and countryside-y.

Q7. It would truly be a sad day when I start talking about kitchen cleaners to other people.

essjay81 · 02/05/2012 13:57

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had not heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I am very impressed with the anti-bacterial spray, it smells nice and cleans well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked as well as my usual product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Price and how well a product works are the main reasons I buy, but if the price was competitive I would be more inclined to purchase a "green" product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

It would depend on price if it was on par or cheaper than my usual product I would buy this instead.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None as it is a good product.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes as it works and if we can all do a little to be greener then that's a good thing.

Bert2e · 02/05/2012 14:03

Testing washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Seemed fine, strong smell in the box but not too strong on clothes

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked as well as my normal bio liquid. There were a few greasy marks remaining (30oC wash just to really test it!!) but most of the rest was clean. I didn't try tomato / oil based stains though which are my normal nemesis.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not that important. Unfortunately price drives what products I buy mainly followed by how well they work.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Only if it was cheaper/same price as my normal product

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Remove the plastic bag from inside the box - there is no need for it. Sort out the measuring cup - box says use 30g / 1 cup when actually 30g is half a cup. I also had undissolved powder in you drawer - I normally use liquid to avoid this. 13 washes on the box was a bit misleading, I did a 7kg load, medium soiling, medium hardness water so needed 60g of powder which is double the initially stated dose.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes if the price was good

Henwelly · 02/05/2012 14:04

dayofthetriffid has put down how I felt about the eco claims - I wasnt sure how to word it!!

When I looked at the back of the bottle it seems that the Plant derived products are less than 5%, if that is the case it does seen like a marketing spin on a green (or not so green) product.

grosspopel thats interesting and would mean I would not buy this as those are the chemicals I try to avoid.

Re the spray - have just discovered mine leaking!!! Also I also had the spray on spurt and couldnt understand why i was using so much Blush thought I was having an Essex moment when I realised!!!!

CamperWidow · 02/05/2012 14:14

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Not seen them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Wasn't impressed with the washing up liquid. There were hardly any bubbles and I had to add some of my usual liquid quite quickly.
I am very impressed with the washing powder.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Liquid was worse
Powder was the same

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Quite important. I would now be happy to buy the powder as I know it washes the same as my current powder

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will if it is the same price or cheaper than my regular brand

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The liquid needs something doing to it, it just didn't do anything

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, already have

FeathersMcGraw · 02/05/2012 14:17

I'm testing the Anti-Bac Spray...

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Hadn't heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I found the smell a bit overpowering at first, but as the product dried it smelled nice & fresh. I have used it in the kitchen and it didn't taint the work surfaces and also as an emergency cleaner in the bathroom - both cleaned up a treat

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I saw no difference in performance - it cleaned as well as my usual product

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I to buy environmentally friendly products where possible so the fact that Tesco have formulated an effective green range is good

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? I vary where I do my grocery shopping! If I need anti-bac spray when I am shopping in Tesco I will buy this as I liked the fragrance & found it performed well

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? my bottle had leaked badly in transit so I would be concerned that it would do so again over the rest of my shopping!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? yes, I probably would. My friends prefer eco products

TwinMummy30 · 02/05/2012 14:24

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the washing powder and I have to say that it did work brilliantly. I had some stained tops which weren't cleaned after using other washing powders and to my surprise the Naturally Powered got rid of them all! Smell is nice, powdery, loved the little cup. the only issue I'd have would be that the powder didn't dissolve fully in the drawer.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I think the Naturally Powered washing powder worked better than the usual one that I use. As I said above it cleaned very tough staines on my kids clothes.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

They are important to me and my family. I do try looking for the eco friendly products but sometimes the price puts me off and they don't always work.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I definitely will! It's environment friendly and it does work.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The only thing I'd change would be the ability to dissolve well as I'm afraid it didn't in any of my washing :(

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I already did! My friends would love to be more "greener" , they do try eco products but I'm afraid not all of them work as good as we would like them, so the opportunity to "try before buy" that was given by MN and Tesco helps a lot!

yodelayheehoo · 02/05/2012 14:25

I tested the anti-bacterial spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't heard of them before this.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Cleaned very well, no residue. Love the fresh lemon smell. Very Happy.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as good as the normal Tesco spray I normally use.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

If it wasn't overpriced I would always choose a green product because of the benefits to the environment.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes I would buy it if the price was right, it's very concentrated and I love the smell.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The nozzle leaks, so that would need to be addressed. Also it doesn't say on the packaging that it is Lemon scented.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend this to friends. It works well and is environmentally friendly.

Anti Bac spray

I tested the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I didn't have one.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
It smells nice but was disappointed with a white wash as there were still food stains on school shirts. They were washed at 60 degrees too. However, it did shift the mud from my mucky boys' school trousers. The feel of the clothes afterwards is soft, and I like the lack of perfume.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Just not as good as Aldi gel.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would rather buy green if possible.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
At the moment, no.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
A better white wash.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd say yes for muddy, dark coloured clothes, just not for whites.

This is just for the wash liquid as haven't opened the Laundry Powder yet.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

The packets where plain but easily recyclable. I was happy about that.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I thought I'd really put the liquid to the test and used it to wash a burned pan. It smelled nice and was very effective at it's job with very little effort required. Most importantly for me, it didn't sting or irritate my hands like some others do.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I was certainly impressed by it's effectiveness on the burned on food stuff so it is definitely better than some other Natural Cleaning products I have tried.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important. As a family we try to keep the chemicals we use in our house and on ourselves to a minimum and this affects my decision when it comes to buying these products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

It really depends on the price and how comparable it is to other Natural Products. As well as wanting to avoid chemicals where possible, another reason for going Natural is the cost. Bi-carb Soda, white vinegar etc are all very cheap to buy in bulk and are just as good at cleaning as supermarket bought detergents.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None so far. Although I would like to see the bottle used for the wash liquid.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If they where looking for natural products that are readily available in the supermarket then Yes, I would recommend the wash liquid.

Will answer the questions for the laundry powder once it's opened and been used for a while. Was thinking of using it on the cloth nappies to really test it's effectiveness and gentleness against my sons sensitive skin.
