NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Product Tested: Non Bio Washing Powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasn't aware of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The product worked fine and was comparable to me normal brand of washing powder for stain removal. There wasn't a distinctive fragrance to the product.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well on stain removal however the powder did clog in the drawer of the washing machine.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, the green credentials are important but in all honesty I am more swayed by price competitiveness.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Possibly, if the price is right!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Stop the clogging of powder in the washing machine drawer.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Possibly!

MotherGeek · 09/05/2012 12:45

Q1. I hadn't heard of them before, so had no opinion.

Q2. It worked well, smelt good and I liked the 2 different spray type options. BUT the bottle leaked if you squoze it when the cap was set to "off"

Q3. It worked just as well.

Q4. I liked the fact it was green, and this would encourage me to buy it, were it not for the leaky cap.

Q5. Not until the cap issue is fixed.

Q6. I would fix the leaky cap.

Q7. I would recommend the product, but point out the packaging flaw.

MotherGeek · 09/05/2012 12:46

Oops - forgot to say I was reviewing the Antibacterial Spray

justshootmenow · 09/05/2012 14:20

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I used the Anti-bacterial spray and I had never heard of them before this.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
We have been ftting a new kitchen and the spar seeem to be keepng my new worktops clean, However tthere is an overpowering lemony smell to the spray.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It worked just as well as my usual products jus didnt smell as nice

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Sorry but I'm not a person who would go out and seek green products because they are green. It would not affect my purchases I'm quite price led with purchases.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
err no. I do not have a tesco locally and do my shopping elsewhere due to the overall quality of tesco products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Less lemony scen.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, my family also shop elsewhere.

overall nice product.

Product: washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I didn't know Tesco did a range of Eco products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I think the product worked well. I liked the smell in the packet but couldn't smell it as strongly on the clothes. It did leave residue in the washing machine drawer though and I could see white marks on the dark load.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think because I usually use a liquid either directly in the drum or the drawer there is never a residue, or white marks with my usual brand. I think they worked as well as my usual product apart from that.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Green credentials are important to me and that's why I usually buy another Eco brand. I would want to do more research on their credentials before I bought the products and if I wasn't happy I wouldn't buy them.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If they made a liquid version of the washing powder and I was happy with their Eco standards I would buy the product.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I would like a liquid version. If not, could they find out what causes the white marks and solve that I would try it again.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not because of the above reasons but if someone already uses a powder I think they may have those problems, so I would recommend that they try it.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/05/2012 15:32

Washing powder tested here

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The products worked brilliantly, very happy with the performance and loved the smell, which seemed to last quite well on the clothes too. However I think the dosage (30ml) was too much as there was some left in the drawer and I normally use powder but would use a smaller dose of it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked as well as the products I normally use (another own brand powder) but retained the smell better

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like that it is green and would choose it if faced with two products, one green and one not, and the same price. However this alone wouldn't affect my decision to buy.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If the Naturally Powered range competed with other options price-wise, I would choose it, but if not, I wouldn't

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Less packaging. Why does a green product have extra plastic packaging that the non-green equivalents do not?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If it came up, yes.

Flisspaps · 09/05/2012 16:09

I've been trialling the washing powder (non bio)

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I didn't have one as I didn't know they existed

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The powder was fine. It managed a darks wash well, but didn't get bolognese out of a white t-shirt or baby poo out of a babygro even though they were put straight in to a hot wash without drying.

The smell of the powder was quite strong.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The powder wasn't as good on a whites wash as my usual bio powder.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't necessarily look for green credentials in washing powder or laundry products. My main concerns are does it work, and how much does it cost? At the moment I get a good washing powder for less than £4 for 60 washes.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

It's not as good as my bio powder, and I imagine that it costs more per wash.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The cup - make it bigger so that it holds the 75ml of powder needed to do a heavily soiled wash in a hard water area. Put markings for 30, 60 and 75ml on. It's not easy to measure out two and a half scoops accurately when fending off a toddler and trying to soothe a crying newborn.

Don't use a bag in a box. One or the other please - either a box, or a bag (in the same way as Tesco Value washing powder comes in a handy carry bag)

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If someone was saying to me they were looking for an eco-friendly powder I might mention it, but to be honest cleaning products aren't usually something we discuss...

Pinot · 09/05/2012 16:26

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I thought they wouldn't be as good as the normal chemically ones.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I am v v happy. It smelt fresh, it cleaned really nicely and did it quickly - I hate having to scrub and I was v impressed. Worked well, great performance. Really v pleased indeed.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as good as the fizzing oxygen one that I used before.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think now I know they aren't inferior, yes it would make me think about choosing the green option. I'm surprised with that!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I don't normally shop in Tesco but when I do, I would.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The packaging is very dull and boring. Make it funky to be 'green', not dull and nerdy!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yeah I would, purely because i suspect they'd be surprised that the performance is just as good as normal ranges too.

Thanks for letting me take part in this.

houseoffallenwomen · 09/05/2012 16:38

I was testing non bio washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I didn't know about them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The washing powder worked well and I really liked the smell. Only thing was it didn't dissolve completely in machine drawer.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well and I preferred the smell. Everything smelt fresher.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, it would matter to me to try to by greener products that are kinder to the environment - but only if they work as well as other products and don't cost too much more.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would buy it yes because I liked the smell, but would depend on price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Maybe make the packaging slightly easier to use, though I liked the cup.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them as my friends would want to use green products if they work and as long as they weren't too expensive

AnnMumsnet · 09/05/2012 16:38

Thanks for all the comments so far. We have passed the issues over leaky bottles and powder not always dissolving properly to Tesco and they are sharing them with their technical team.

I was testing the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I thought it was probably yet another marketing excuse for an overpriced washing powder.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the washing powder - it worked well, although I must confess to not testing at a very low temperature, most things go through an at least 40 degree wash here - and it smelled nice. I didn't like the tester sachet of washing up liquid; that smelled nice too but it was very hard to see in water how much of it you were using.
Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The washing powder smells nicer than my normal one, and I don't need to use as much of it. The overall cleanliness of the clothes was the same, though.
Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
It might, but only if I were comparing to a similarly priced alternative - I won't pay extra for something with green credentials because I just can't afford to.
Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
It will depend on the price - I liked it, but as stated above, I can't afford to shell out a premium for it.
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Please do away with the plastic bag the washing powder is in inside the cardboard box - my normal powder comes in a similarly designed box without a plastic bag, it's just straight in the box, and that works fine. It seems very silly to add unnecessary packaging to a product marketed as environmentally friendly, not to mention that I couldn't get the bloody thing open and washing powder went everywhere!
Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might, it worked well and I liked it, so if a friend wanted a 'green' product I would recommend it.

EmilyPollifaxInnocentTourist · 09/05/2012 16:59

I've ended up binning the rest of the powder. It's not dissolved at all in my washing machine at less than 60 degrees which seems utterly pointless since I buy eco products for their impact on the environment and washing clothes at 60 degrees, unless its nappies, is ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend it all.

lisaneedsarest · 09/05/2012 17:32

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products
I'd never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It smells lovely and washes well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The same.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I like the idea of anything that is environmentally friendly but ultimately at this moment in time cost would be the biggest issue. Sad

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, if the price is comparable.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

none

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes.

Puffinsaresmall · 09/05/2012 17:43

Tested antibac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
None - hadn't heard of them. Would probably have thought they were less powerful as from natural substances

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Liked the smell and the product worked well

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well and I preferred the smell to usual brand

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not that important. If it works well then being green is a bonus but wouldn't choose something that didn't work over something that did, because it was green

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

yes if the price is comparable to normal brand. I liked the smell

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Cap seemed a bit leaky

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes dependent on price as product worked well

smokinaces · 09/05/2012 17:52

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
*No preconcieved ideas, had never heard of them. Interested in a natural antibac cleaning product

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
*Disappointed it smelt quite so much like a chemical. It wasnt as natural as I would have liked - I dont use antibac cleaners as I dont think it is healthy to be so anally clean. I was hoping for a more natural product. The product cleaned well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
*did take less elbow grease!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
*werent a big enough factor to make me switch

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

  • No. I dont like antibacterial sprays generally, and I gave this a go to see if a more natural one would suit me, but no

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
n/a

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
*if someone was looking yes, it did clean well. however I have no real comparison to market leading brands

alibubbles · 09/05/2012 17:54

I've just used the sachet of washing up liquid, I put some pans sin the sink and 5 minutes later all the bubbles had gone, and I had to rewash the pans, as it was just like rinsing under the tap, not very effective.

i didn't think it smelt, and it was a very thin liquid, it didn't give th impression that it would be good either!

vincenta · 09/05/2012 18:09

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I didn't see it before that's why my first impressionwas when i received box with naturally powered.I liked the appearance of Naturally Powered laundry non bio detergent. Small box, enough for 13 washes, inside box was lovely cup for measuring laundry detergent.Made form paper not plastic.Smell was pleasant and strong enough when I opened the box.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
To be honest for non-bio laundry detergent this product is not bad, of course very stained clothes it didn't washed so well but at the same time it was the same with peril or Fairy non bio laundry detergents.
Bedding towels, and clothes without hard stains vere clean after washing.
My biggest disappointment was poo stains which vere present even after washing .I washed clothes on 60 and used 90 ml cup of laundry detergent for heavy stains and hard water area, no luck. Those stains where there after washing.(My son had upset tummy that's why there was some poo here and there on some clothes and bedding, i washed them second time with stain removal)
However I liked a lot how clean clothes (without stains) where after wash, whites were bright and dark clothes looked clean too.About fragrance. After wash fragrance of product is barely noticeable.I like more scent left after wash, then clothes feel much cleaner and fresher.
On the other hand I used lenor fabric conditioner for better fragrance when I washed bedding and it smelled lovely.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It worked better than most non-bio laundry detergents, but heavy stains where still present after wash.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Now I try to be more "green" than before but at the same time it is not always easy to do because I can't afford "green " products which costs a lot but at the same time don't clean as normal "non green" product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
To be honest I saw bio Naturally Powered laundry detergent and I would buy it next time when I run out of laundry detergent just to try maybe it works better than non-bio.AS for me it is not so important bio or non bio because no one in my family have sensitive skin.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
To my mind it would be great to add more fragrance because then clothes feel much fresher and cleaner.Small boxes are cut, but I prefer to buy bigger boxes. 2 in 1 would be great addition, laundry detergent together with fabric softener, you don't need to buy additional product.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes i would recommend it, because for non-bio laundry detergent it worked quite well, no miracles with heavy stains but you always can use stain removal. When I last time visited Tesco I Naturally Powered was on promotion, buy 2 for 6 £ not so bad price for "green" product!

BiscuitNibbler · 09/05/2012 18:44

I was testing the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of them before this test.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The product worked adequately on a coloured wash, but my white wash was disappointing as it was definitely not as white as I am used to.

I liked the smell of the product, and it made the kitchen smell lovely whilst the wash was on, however the smell did not linger on the clothes afterwards. On the items I tumble dried the smell vanished immediately, and on the other it disappeared after a day. I didn't notice anything special about the feel of the clothes.

Overall I was a little underwhelmed by the product.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

As far as cleaning the clothes is concerned, it worked adequately, but not as good on whites as my usual product. As far as the smell is concerned, my usual product leaves a lovely smell on my clothes that really lasts and keeps them fresh.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't buy a product just because it was "green", only if it was really good. It is more important to me that it gets my clothes clean - sadly this product doesn't do as well as my "non-green" usual product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No, as it wasn't great on whites.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Definitely do something about its performance on whites.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If they really wanted a green product then yes, but I would mention that I was disappointed with my whites.

Thanks very much for the opportunity to test this!

AlmaMartyr · 09/05/2012 18:54

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I liked the packaging, looked nice and fresh. The box opened easily, I didn't get powder everywhere, didn't have to stick my thumb into those annoying flaps that you get on some detergent boxes and I liked the little cup.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The product worked really well for a non-bio, didn't notice any difference to my normal bio tablets that I buy. I didn't try any hard stains though! The smell was lovely, not too overpowering. Overall I was quite impressed.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Compared pretty well. I normally use a bio tablet and some soda crystals but this seemed to work just as well, although I haven't tested it on some of DS's vilest babygros.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do like green products and tend to prefer to buy them where possible, and when not too expensive.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Probably not, largely because I don't have a Tesco near me and I do like my normal bio tablets. If there was a nearby Tesco I'd probably buy the range.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Nothing really, I liked them.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, if the friend was interested in green cleaning products, especially on a bit of a budget (not sure how it compares but assuming it will be cheaper than Ecover, Method et al).

TheEpilator · 09/05/2012 19:07

Quick update as I have already answered in full. I have found the anti-bac spray doesn't get marks off my white kitchen table as well as my usual brands (Mr Muscle or Tesco own brand kitchen cleaner). Its ok for general greasy fingerprints and food, but pencil and pen don't clean off at all.

I don't usually buy anti-bac stuff (as I believe in letting some germs hang around to keep our immune systems working) so maybe this product focuses more on the anti-bac properties than on being a 'cleaner' as such, and I'm not comparing like-for-like? Either way, I don't think I'd buy it again as it makes wiping the table take twice as long. Once for the food, then again with Cif cream for the marks - not very eco- or time-friendly.

DH used the washing up liquid only so that he could take credit in public for doing the washing up and said that it was the first time he'd run out of bubbles for a very long time. It wasn't a particularly greasy wash, but the bubbles just weren't strong enough to last for the whole wash. He said it worked ok for a basic washing up liquid but he wasn't overly impressed and it would never work on a roasting tray etc.

Shame, as I always feel bad about the chemicals being washed down the plug hole and would like to be able to use greener products, but only if they work as well as normal ones. Thanks for the chance to try though :-)

FuntimeFelicity · 09/05/2012 19:31

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

No opinion, hadn't heard of the range.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I gave up on the powder. I'm in a very soft water area so only put in 20g of powder and even this didn't dissolve. It took another 3 washes for the last traces to go! The smell was a bit strong too.

The washing up liquid was disappointing, had to top up with my usual liquid.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Seemed to clean OK but I'll stick to my usual. No cleaning gunk out of drawers there.

The washing up liquid just didn't last, not cleaning properly with only half the washing up done.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Only if it actually does the job.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No, for the reasons mentioned above.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

A washing liquid would be better in my machine.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, again for the reasons above.

I found the washing up liquid rather ineffectual too. I loved the scent but wouldn't swap it for my usual Fairy liquid for hand washing.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

  • I didn't have an opinion, hadn't noticed them. DH does most of the supermarket shopping.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

  • I tested the antibacterial spray. Overall, I'm pleased with it. It feels nice and light to use, it cleans the tops in my kitchen surprisingly easily - and that's with all sorts of things spilled and left to dry (i.e. after DH has made a full cooked breakfast!)

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

  • It worked probably better than my usual for general worktop/sink/kitchen cleaning. It's got a lighter feel; I don't feel I need to rinse it or anything. The smell is nicer, and not as harsh as the cleaners I generally use (which are normally things which are on offer!) However, I don't feel it got things like pen marks off my living room table (sigh) as well as, for example, cif spray. But yes, for kitchen and bathroom, great.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

  • Not generally very important. Although it would help sway me if I was choosing between two.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

  • If the price is reasonable, yes, I probably would.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

  • The bottle leaked when it was being sent to me - I think it needs to be made a bit more secure. It dribbles on me a bit when I'm using it now.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

  • Yes, I probably would.

Thanks for letting me test Grin

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I shope in Tesco every week, sometimes in store but often on-line and yet I have never seen the Naturally Powered products. So I didn't have any opinion of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the anti bacterial spray and it worked well, cleaning up spills as well as the other products I've used. I liked the smell but it was quite strong which I imagine wouldn't appeal to everyone.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well but I was unsure whether I was OK to use it on my high chair trays, on childrens toys etc. There wasn't any information on the packaging to say one way or another.

I also used the washing up sample which worked MUCH better than other green products I used, didn't lose bubbles quickly, kept de-greasing for ages etc.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very, we have a septic tank (no mains sewerage) and so water goes to a soak away, therefore its important that we're not putting too many chemicals into the ground/water table.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, I run some holiday cottages and want to use an antibacterial, eco cleaning product up until now I haven't found one that works.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

My bottle was leaky. It arrived sealed in a bag but had leaked into the bag. If i hold it at an angle the product leaks out from under the cap. I've tried tightening it but it made no difference. I appreciate that I may have just had a faulty top though!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely, I've already recommended to my Mum!

Thanks, this was a really good find for me.

We've been testing the anti-bac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them, i had to look really closely at the packaging to realise it was from Tesco.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the spray, the lemon smell was not overpowering but was pleasant.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I use a Sainsbury's anti-bac spray and this worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I used to use Ecover as I like to be green but sadly financial constraints mean I can't do this like I used to. I liked the fact that this product had green credentials so it would probably be a case of checking the deals on the shelf when I purchased it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
We don't usually shop in Tesco so probably not.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
None.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't see why not, but we're usually too busy discussing cake or exploding nappies!
