NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Never noticed them, in fact, even after this test I couldn't find them in my local Tesco.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I like the smell and the spray worked very welll.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did
it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Compared very well to Flash wipes, probably better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Quite imporatant but price is more important, so I would only choose 'green' if they are competitively priced.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Maybe, not convinced entirely.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The spray came out of the bag wet so I think the spray thingy is not up to scratch.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Erm. I don't really do cleaning chat with my friends!

coribells · 09/05/2012 22:08

I dont think it is quite asgood. Not sure it would work on tough stains

whythatduckpeckmemummy · 09/05/2012 22:46

Thanks Mumsnet and Tesco for selecting me to try out the antibacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was happy with the performance of the antibacterial spray when used on kitchen work surfaces and sink area. Not sure about the smell though, reminded me of the cheap lemonade we used to have as a kid! The tester size washing up liquid was very good, lots of bubbles and cleaned the pans well. The smell of this product was also preferable, less sweet maybe?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Obviously the antibacterial performance cannot easily be quantified at home... Visually the antibacterial spray was comparable to my usual products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would not normally buy a "green" household product as I imagine them to be over-priced and not particularly effective. In reality many natural products are neither good for us nor our environment so I would look into the real eco credentials if I was buying on this basis.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would consider buying the washing up liquid and maybe other items in the range, but probably not the spray as the smell put me off.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The smell of the spray, although scanning this thread I'm clearly in the minority on this!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend the products if a friend was keen on eco household products. Would suggest they check the eco credentials though as I haven't bothered.

PTrish · 09/05/2012 23:13

I am testing the washing powder.....
I was not aware of the Naturally Powered range so had no prior opinion.

I really liked the washing powder - apart from the over-strong perfume. The performance was good, and I loved the simple packaging and card scoop. I needed only a smallish amount of powder and I think it compared well with my usual product. There was no undisolved residue in the drawer.

Green credentials are important to me, as long as the product performs well, and do affect my decisions to buy. Impressed by the sustainable palm oil factor. More interested in impact on the environment than if product is all-natural.

I'd buy the washing up liquid; if the washing powder had a more subtle frangrance (or preferably, be unperfumed), i would definitely buy it.

I would recommend both the washing up liquid and the washing powder.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 09/05/2012 23:25

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?he

No opinion. I actually looked for them in Tesco this weekend and they were hidden away on the top shelf and barely visible

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The washing powder 'clumped' and formed lumps in the drawer of my washing machine It seemed like it was too fine a powder, and I had to clean out the drawer during or after each wash. It washed fine. I use half the recomended powder and don't like a smell on the clothes afterwards so that was good too.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The washing powder worked well on cleaning. The washing up liquid seemed to struggle with grease.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I do always buy green where I can, but this is tempered by price, and having seen the price at the weekend, on a wash for wash basis I am not sure the price is right for me

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Maybe, but price is an issue

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

More granular powder so that it does not clump

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably

PiedWagtail · 09/05/2012 23:33

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I usually use Ecover so I was curious to try the Tesco brand.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the smell of the washing up liquid. It lathered up well and did a good job.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Just as good a job.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credentials are very important to me. I buy recycled kitchen roll and loo roll too.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes, I will - I know they can do the job now, so will be buying more of the products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? less of a chemical smell

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? Yes, i would.

Evenstar · 09/05/2012 23:50

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I was testing the anti bacterial spray

I was quite sceptical, it was a long time since I had tried environmentally friendly products and the ones I had experienced had been less effective than my normal choices

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was delighted, the smell was much more pleasant, I am asthmatic and some anti bacterial sprays make me cough, this didn't at all and was just as effective as "normal" products, I also have sensitive skin and found it was not drying at all on the hands when wiping up

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Definitely just as well

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would like to use more environmentally friendly products, but my main criteria as a working single parent is that the product is effective and lives up to the claims on the packaging, I don't have time to do the job twice and with 3 cats around the house I need to have peace of mind that things are really clean in food preperation areas

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I don't normally shop at Tesco's for my main weekly shop, so it would depend on whether I was purchasing the product at a time when I was in the store, also as for many people these days cost is key and I couldn't afford to pay a large premium for it. I really like it though and would definitely buy again

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I thought the label looked a bit dull, it wouldn't stand out on the shelf, perhaps something with some greens/flowers on it

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I have already recommended it to several friends as I found it very pleasant to use, effective and gentle on skin and non irritating to my asthma

onadifferentplanet · 10/05/2012 06:24

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I was not aware of them before the test

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tested the washing powder, I found the smell quite strong in the box but hardly noticable on the finished washing I found the powder worked well on towel and.coloured clothes but when I did a load of white school shirts at a low temperature there was redidue left on them and I had to rewash at a higher temp to get it off. I loved the smell of the washing up liquid and it left my glasses and cutlery sparkling but by the time I got round to the pans I had to top up with my usual brand

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
As I said above very good on colours but disappointed with whites, I like to hang my washing outside which hasn't been possible during this test with the awful weather and so it was difficult I think to do a totally fair comparison washing I think always seems so much nicer and fresher when its been on the line rather than by the radiator

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Whilst I would prefer to use green products reguarly,I am on a budget so am not sure it would reguarly tempt me away from whatever is on special offer

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? NoI don't think it would be my first choice,I prefer to use a liquid rather than a powder might give it anotherr try if they do a liquid version

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I think the smell could do with some tweaking

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend to someone who was looking to try green products but couldn't honestly say it would do a better job thah their present brand

foosty · 10/05/2012 09:32

Received the washing powder about 10 days ago...

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't heard of it

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I love the smell of the powder in the box but couldn't really detect it on the cleaned laundry - and I do like our clothes to have that 'freshly laundered' scent. Performance wise - well, it wasn't great on some of the kids' clothes - stains weren't shifted and needed washed again in my bio detergent. I always find this is a problem with non-bio anyway so no real surprise there. My main gripe is that the powder didn't dissolve in the drawer - on my first wash I put a little in the pre-wash section and the rest in the main detergent section and after the cycle there was still quite a bit of powder left over. Not great, as obviously it didn't go into the machine. I felt that the powder that didn't get in might be clogging it up.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked the same as other non-bio detergents - clothes seemed clean enough but more heavily stained ones were still stained.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Pretty important, and yes it would affect my decision to buy. I do try to use 'green' cleaning products wherever I can, but often they just don't clean as well as regular products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I'm unlikely to buy the detergent again in powder form, but would try a liquid version.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make the powder dissolve properly! And add something to tackle stains like mud, blood, etc

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No. It just doesn't work as well as other products, sorry.

NotjustaMummy · 10/05/2012 10:07

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
A: I had never heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
A: They didn't even make a dent on the high chair, couldn't shift dried on coffee from the worktop

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
A: Just not as effective as dettol with bleach spray, and no where near as powerful as totally evil but utterly effective cillit bang.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
A: I'd love to use 'green' products, but they are so much less effective it puts me off.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
A:no, they just required too much elbow grease to get things clean, i could do as much with just hot water and a good scrubby pad.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
A: more gunge busting power.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
A: No, just didn't work for me.

Snapespeare · 10/05/2012 10:09

Q1.What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
hadnt really heard of the specific bbrand, more generally thought that would not get 'as good' results from eco-brannds

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
products worked well at lower temperatures, smelt fine - wouldlike more choice of smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
not quite as good. unsure if I am being objective, did not see a marked improvement on ususal product, so will probably stick to usual product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
green credentials are obviously important - my mindset is that we have to do what we can to be green, however, I still want similar results to usual non-eco brand and I found these products slightly lacking

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
no. not delighted enough to switch brand.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

packaging dull, looks eco-worthy, whilst that will appeal to a green conciousness, the tired use of 'green' brannding doesnt sell teh product.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
not really - green friends hap[py wioth their brands, non-green friends not convinced by poor performance.

Butterflyface · 10/05/2012 10:11

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I've used these before, but am currently trying to decide which of the supermarket's do a better range of eco-friendly products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

They're fine - they work well, the smell is nicer than other eco-products I've used before.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I didn't notice any difference between these and other eco-products, however I've yet to find something that performs as well as the other chemically ones.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very - if I knew this was more green than other 'green' products, that would affect me choosing it over another eco-brand - but after the price of course!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, as long as it's cheaper than branded eco-products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None that I could think of.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably, however most friends don't seem to be interested in eco-products, which is a shame!

Belo · 10/05/2012 10:11

I've now finished the pack of powder so I thought I would come back and give my final feelings.

All my clothes came out clean minus stains (even a coffee stain - but I did put some vanish on it too) so it did the job on the cleaning front. BUT, after using it for every wash I've found that I've got quite a powder build up in the dispenser tray. I don't like that. And, I don't think it contains 13 washes. I would say 8. Maybe that's because I used the heavy soil dosage and I live in a hard water area, but I would say that a lot of people are the same as me. It should be labelled to reflect that usage pattern.

BlueEyeshadow · 10/05/2012 10:11

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? - No opinion as hadn't heard of them. I generally like eco products though.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? - I tested the anti-bac spray. It seems to work and smells nice, but I've got no way of knowing whether or not it's killing the bugs!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? - Works just as well (as far as I can tell, see above). Smells nicer than the usual anti-bac spray.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? - Very important. I like to use eco products wherever possible.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? No, because I don't shop in Tesco.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? - Yes, probably.

christmasmum · 10/05/2012 10:14

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had not heard of this range previously. When I read about the review on umsnet my instant opinion was positive because I am keen to try more environmentally friendly products

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the surface spray and found it did a great job on the kitchen worktops. I really like the smell and my daughter also said the kitchen smelt lovely! It was not as effective on the hob but I do find that I have to use more heavy duty products there in general.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well on the lighter areas for cleaning so I would probably use this in conjunction with other products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I am becoming more concerned about the products I buy but it is still not top of my list when it comes to making purchasing decisions. Tight budgets at the moment means that price is my top consideration!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I may or may not buy it depending on the offers at the time. If it was a similar price to the other ranges it would certainly be considered.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

It was fine for a surface spray.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, but only because I don't tend to recommend cleaning products!

taurean · 10/05/2012 10:14

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasn't aware of them at all.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the washing powder and despite being sceptical it works, although I don't like scented powders

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked the same, although slightly put off by the scent.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

The green credentials are important and I would like to buy more "green" products but like many people the budget is tight and takes precedence

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No - but only due to the scent.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Scent free!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend the products to anyone who doesn't mind scented produts.

NatalieW74 · 10/05/2012 10:18

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I hadn't seen them before but love the idea

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the washing powder and thought it was good and good effort. Seemed to provide usual level of cleaning. Loved the greener packaging and the dosing cup but thought it was hard to get that in without spilling the powder. Loved the smell

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? It worked just the same but with the added benefit of greener

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I haven't tended to buy green so far as not many available but it is important to me and having this range will give me the option

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? Probably yes, purely because of the green credentials

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Maybe make it clearer that it's green

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Definitely due to green credentials - as Tesco would say, every little helps!

I used the washing powder.
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had seen them in the supermarket and had considered buying them. (I think I may have bought the washing up liquid in the past)

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Happy with the product, it worked on my clothes, you could smell it but not in an overpowering way. Clothes looked and felt clean.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think it was comparable with my usual product, possibly not quite as good but not bad at all.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think using green produts is important, ideally I would use them more but money wise they are more expensive and I'm not feeling particularly rich at the moment. I try to buy some now and again but can't afford to do more than this.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I think for now I would wait and hope that they would be on offer. The price is about double of what I normally pay for washing powder.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I think it was fine as it was.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might mention it but not start the conversation just to mention it.

  1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I used the washing powder. I was quite happy with the performance, although the smell was a little strong for me. Especially liked the little measuring cup!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I usually use another eco washing powder, and this product cleaned my washing just as well as my usual one.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credentials are very important to me. On this note I would say that this range is not as green as others. It contains optical brighteners which are harmful to the environment, and other ingredients that I'm not sure about, but my usual powder doesn't contain them so am a bit suspicious.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would if I was in Tesco and they didn't have any other eco friendly washing powder, but in the meantime I will probably stick to my usual brand which I am more confident about its green credentials.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I would remove the perfume and optical brighteners

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not - again for the above reasons about how green it really is.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The washing powder: Yes it worked, everything seems clean. It has a nice fragrance, not too overpowering.

The washing up liquid: This was not as successful but I had a large amount of water in my sink and a huge pile of dirty dishes so I may have diluted it too much. After washing just a few things all the bubbles had disappeared and it felt like all the cleaning power had too. I had to run a new bowl of water and add my usual washing up liquid.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The washing powder worked just as well as my usual (surf or Aldi) and I would go as far as saying perhaps better. I did use more of the product than I normally would. I think I did this because it was 'free'.

The washing up liquid was a total fail.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

They would be important to me in an ideal world but in these tough economic times I buy what ever is the cheapest and put my principles and ideology to one side.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, if the washing powder is cost effective. No to the washing up liquid.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would make the washing up liquid last longer than being able to wash a few items.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the washing powder to eco-minded friends, yes.

I tried the antibacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
A1. I hadn?t heard of them before now, but given the name I?d have made an assumption that it was quite ?faddy? ? probably wouldn?t have tried.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
A2. I was pleasantly surprised by the antibacterial spray ? the product worked well and smelled lovely ? very natural lemon fragrance, clean smelling and not overpowering. I like it. However, the small trial of the washing up liquid ? I felt that this smelled very artificial and as well as a lemon, there was a slight spice smell too.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
A3. The antibacterial spray was just as good performance wise to the Dettol spray I normally use, but I preferred the lemon smell which didn?t linger too long. The washing up liquid cleaned the dishes fine, but I probably wouldn?t buy again ? I prefer Fairy

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
A4. Honestly, not that important at all. Wouldn?t persuade me to buy, in fact, might put me off as I?d assume a poorer performance product at an inflated price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
A5. I will definitely consider switching to the antibacterial spray, as the performance was good and the smell was lovely, but it would depend on the price point.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
A6. For the antibacterial spray ? I?d make the packaging more yellow to reflect the lemon scent, but the product itself is great. I?d change the scent on the washing up liquid

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
A7. If it came up in a conversation and it was cheaper than Dettol, then yes, I?d recommend as a quality alternative.
