NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

First of all, thanks for letting me try the washing powder!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never heard of them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

After the first wash I was really disappointed, as there was no smell left on the clothes, I thought that maybe I didn't put enough, so I re-washed the clothes using a full cup of powder, after the wash there was a little smell but nothing big

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It did clean, most of the stains came off my 7mo dd clothes but as I said earlier I really like the smell of clean laundry and the fact that the smell was really little did disappoint me

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes if I had the choice between 2 washing powder with similar efficiency and one of them was greener then I would go for that one but only if the result was similar

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I am sorry but I won't be buying it again, as I am not 100% convinced with the product and the lack of smell is a let down for me

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I think maybe offering a bigger packaging would be better, the small measuring cup is cute but my first thought was what if you put it in the water by accident then it might not be of much use but then I didn't put it in the water to try so I might be wrong

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would maybe recommend the product to a friend but I will warn her that if she is expecting a lovely smell afterwards then forget it

PineappleBed · 06/05/2012 18:50

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I hadn't heard of them so didn't have any particular impression.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I was disappointed. I thought the washing powder was ineffective, it didn't get the clothes as clean as persil does, the instructions were unclear and the powder was tricky to pour from the bag to the cup. I didn't think it had a particular smell and my clothes were harder than usual after use, even with fabric softener.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? Worse

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Very important but the product didn't work well enough so I wouldn't buy it

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? No, they don't work well. The sample of washing up liquid was poor too - few bubbles, no real smell and couldn't cut through grease.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Make them clean better and improve the instructions.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? No, I don't think they work properly.

wantingmore · 06/05/2012 19:43

i tried the antibacterial spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

i had no opinion as i had never heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

the first thing i noticed was the smell. i really liked it and so did my 2 dds, they commented on the smell as soon as i started using it. it worked as well as any other spray i have used. so i was happy with it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

it worked just as well as other products i have used

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

i like the idea of buying green but it wouldnt make me buy it over other products only if it was the same price or cheaper.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

if the price was reasonable i would.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

none

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes if they were thinking of buying green.

LTLTLT · 06/05/2012 20:18

I Tested the spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had not heard of them before or seen them in store.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I quite liked the spray. I usually use Dettol anti bacterial or similar and I felt this worked just as well. I was happy with the performance. I quite liked the smell,m it seemed quite Lemony. It wouldnt be a smell that I would usually choose, but it was nice enough.
I did find that on my black kitchen floor tiles and work surfaces it did leave a bit of a white powdery residue at times.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I Was happy that it did a similar job to products that I would normally use. The bottle got on my nerves a bit as i found the plastic to be quite flimsy and the nozzle kept coming loose so I had to keep tightening it when I was using it.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

The green credentials of cleaning and household products are becoming more and more important to me. Now that I know this product exists and works well I will certainly be buying it next time I go shopping. I'm quite keen to try the washing powder too.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Now that I have tried it, seen that I like it and that it works well, I will be buying it in the future.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would make the bottle more sturdy. I found it flimsy and difficult to use when it was full. I would also make the spray nozzle fit better as it continually comes loose from the bottle.
I would love to see the spray come in a different smell options as well.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend this product, particularly if the price is comparable to other brands.

lalalahahaha · 06/05/2012 20:21

I have been using the cleaning spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Yes, it worked and it smelt nice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think they worked just as well as the products I normally use.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would buy this over a non-green product. However, I would like more (independent) information about how green these products really are before I would choose them over something like Ecover.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No I don't think so because I don't often buy cleaning products at Tesco and until I had more info about it, I think I'd buy Ecover if I was in Tesco.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
More info about the green credentials.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not really, I don't see much difference between cleaning sprays - they all work as far as I can tell!

needtogetalife · 06/05/2012 20:23

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't really noticed them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It seems to match up to other similar products, the smell is nice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

About the same.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Now i know this works I would buy it again for this reason.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, as long as the price is comparable

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

no improvements

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

probably!

TapirBackRider · 06/05/2012 20:26

Tried the washing powder

Q1 Never heard of the line before.

Q2 I used the recommended amount of powder for soft water, on 30c wash for white shirts, and they came out clean & soft, but there was undissolved powder in the drawer.

The 40c wash for towels was terrible, they were like cardboard and I had to iron them to soften them up a little. The 30c wash for darks/coloured clothes was worse; the very dark clothes in this wash came out discoloured, I now have weird dark brownish clothes instead of the black they previously were.

Q3 I normally use non bio from Aldis; Naturally powered is no better, and definitely worse on dark clothes.

Q4 Unless accredited, I take all 'green credentials' with a big pinch of salt, and tend to purchase according to price.

Q5 No, see Q2 for reasons why.

Q6 I would make the 'green credentials' clear on the box, rather than just referring to a website that's obviously Tesco's in disguise (and rather patronising to boot). The powder is very strong smelling - can't imagine this would be any good for people with sensitive skin.

Q7 I've already told my friends that I was trialling this product, so when the problems listed in Q2 arose, they were made aware of that also.

Not very impressed at the colour run/dye loss in my clothes so will be recommending against it, sorry.

(The washing up liquid sachet burst in the post.)

oldsilver · 06/05/2012 20:32

Update: I have used the washing up liquid, plenty of bubbles cleaned the remains of a home made chilli, dried in off the washing up.

The smell was far too strong .. the aroma actually hurt my chest - which tends to happen when I have gone near something that I am allergic too ie too strong perfume, lavender plants. My chest hurts and my chin starts to itch.

And my hands are now very dry, burning and starting to itch. So, unfortunately it's back to Fairy Soft and Gentle for me, which is the only washing up liquid I've found that doesn't eat my hands.

On the washing front - I have now done a dark wash and it's come out OK. I worked out that chucking it at the back of the drawer stops too much drawer clogging. Didn't take out deodorant stains, which my usual normally does. And if anything, I found the clothes harder to iron - they seem stiffer and this goes for clothes both dried outside and on the airer indoors.

ChangingForTheBetter · 06/05/2012 20:38

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
TBH I usually shop online and use favourites, so had not heard of them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Yes, it worked. Happy with the performance. Liked the fragrance.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Goes well in a comparison test. :) But I find I need to do the wash on a higher temp than usual to get that result.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, depending on price. Limited income, so price is a factor unfortunately.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, depending on price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would like to be able t ouse it at a lower wash temp, please.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would mention that I tried it and tell them I certainly wouldn't rule out using it again.

BehindLockNumberNine · 06/05/2012 20:39

I tried the spray and a small sachet of the washing up liquid.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had not noticed them before, I tend to just pick up my tried and trusted brands (ecover, method)

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The smell of the washing up liquid was awful. Far to strong and too heavy. And unpleasant. Not 'fresh' enough.
The smell of the spray was better. Not my favourite but pleasant enough.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The washing up liquid worked just as well as my ecover. But the smell puts me off.
The spray works very well, certainly as good as any non-green spray I have ever used.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

The green credentials are very important to me. They definately affect my decision to buy.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Provided it is not too expensive I will certainly buy the spray cleaner.
I will however not be buying the washing up liquid due to the smell.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

No improvements to the spray. It works very well and the smell is acceptable.
The washing up liquid.... change the smell, please.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the spray as it works and has green credentials.

Thank you for letting me take part.

IsSamNormansDad · 06/05/2012 20:46

I tested the washing powder (and havent read any of this thread)

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Neutral, but interested.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The powder smelled nice in the box, but the smell was negligable (sp?) on my laundry. It cleaned my washing just fine (even mush covered bibs and muslins), but it left residue in the drawer, even after a 90 degree wash. My towels (i dont use fab con on them) felt lovely after using the powder.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It didnt work any better or worse than my usual detergent.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

The green credentials were important, as I have not found 'green' products which work for me & my family. It is unlikely to affect my decision to buy, particularly in the current economic climate.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I dont think I'll buy the washing powder, unless it will be cheaper than my usual. I was not impressed with the residue left in the drawer - I used the correct dose.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Better solubility ie no residue in the drawer, the smell could stay on the laundry for longer.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Possibly, if they were specifically looking for a 'green' product.

ForestFloor · 06/05/2012 21:30

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I liked the idea, but have been put off by the higher price and thought they were not as effective

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I tested the anti bac spray. I liked the fragrance, liked the packaging, and thought it was just as effective as my non-natural spray

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? it was just as good as my usual spray, and smelt nicer

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? a product being 'green' is one of the few reasons that might make me change from my usual anti bac spray. I like the fact that the spray I clean my surfaces with isn't chock-ful of nasty chemicals, yet it still an effective cleaner. However, I would only change from my usual brand if the green product were priced the same as my usual (cheap!) brand

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? I will have a look for it when I next go to Tesco and see how much it costs...

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? nothing, I really liked it

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Once I knew the price, and if I thought it was reasonable, I think I would recommend it to people who I know care about whether their products are 'green' or not'

Jux · 06/05/2012 21:32

Update. Have done quite a few washes now. The internal plastic bag is seriously annoying.

WhispersOfWickedness · 06/05/2012 21:38

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never used them but assumed they wouldn't be very good as I haven't had a good experience of eco products in the past, I haven't felt they have worked properly.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the antibac spray. It's hard to tell whether it worked really, as I can't see bacteria Wink However, it cleaned the surface as well as any other spray I have tried and it smelt nice (i.e. like a non-eco product)

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just the same as my normal anti-bac surface cleaner.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

In theory, I would like to buy all eco products. However, I have normally not thought eco products have worked very well, so they are not a viable alternative, even before the price consideration. If the choice was between two equally performing, equally priced products, one of which was an eco product, of course I would buy the eco product. But that is not the case.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No, I just can't justify the extra cost. Tesco own brand anti bac spray is £2.80 per litre, the Naturally Powered version is £3.60 per litre!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Price reduction?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If they were willing to pay the extra, yes. Not a conversation I often find myself having though!

tibni · 06/05/2012 21:53

Anti bac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't seen or heard about them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Liked the fragrance a lot and thought the product worked well in the kitchen and bathroom but not so good on mucky marks on doors etc.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
As well if not better in kitchen and bathroom - not so good on walls and doors.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I prefer to buy green if it works and is at the right price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I don't often shop in Tesco but would consider it if I was shopping there and it was a reasonable price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Packaging was really poor, drips if not totally upright which really annoys me as it is going all over my hands, down my arm!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
When I have used it longer I possibly would if I decide it is better than other products - still to make my mind up.

MsHighwater · 06/05/2012 21:58

Q1. Not aware as not regular Tesco shopper.

Q2. Happy with performance. Worked perfectly well. Didn't smell unpleasant (which is all that really matters here). Recommended dosage produced masses of lather in this soft water area.

Q3. Worked just as well.

Q4. Important but not enough to override the importance of price.

Q5. Would buy if in Tesco anyway and if costs compared favourably. Not otherwise.

Q6. Nothing to suggest. We'd reduce the amount used at a time to avoid excessive lather but am used to detergents overestimating the amount required.

Q7. Wouldn't advise against. Don't often have those kind of conversations...

MsHighwater · 06/05/2012 21:59

Oops! should have said we used laundry powder.

mackemmam · 06/05/2012 22:01

q1 Hadn't heard of naturally powered before using them.
q2 Liked the look and smell of the products,
q3 Spray smelt much better than other similar products, but didn't clean as well.
q4 Yes would buy greeb if effective
q5 Don't usually shop a Tesco so no
q6 No improvements needed
q7 yes would recommmend

RaisingEmbers · 06/05/2012 22:05

I used the washing powder, thank you.

Q1. Had never heard of them, but of similar products, and have always been wary to buy them in case they don't clean as well.

Q2. I liked the smell, the product worked, my overall opinion was better than I expected, I liked it. I didn't think the packaging was very noticeable, I would likely overlook it in supermarket, unless actively seeking it out. The powder also clogged in the drawer, but did wash away on the next load.

Q3. The product worked just as well as my normal product. I did not notice that it was any better or worse.

Q4. The green credentials are not the most important part of my choice of purchase, however, if they were good it would influence my decision, for same cleaning efficiency and price comparability if it is green I may buy that over my usual product.

Q5. If the price is right, I will continue to buy, the next generation are increasingly aware of environmental issues, and I would like to practice what I preach!

Q6. Why does it keep clogging? That is the only real problem I had with it.

Q7. Yes I would, if I felt they would be interested in more environmentally friendly washing powder I would recommend it.

tootssweet · 06/05/2012 22:46

I have the anit-bac spray thank you (still not used washing up liquid - got dishwasher and lazy slattern!)

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them but don't tend to buy cleaning products from Tesco.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I really like the smell (the whole family does.) The spray is good and cleans up the mess that is DS's high-chair really well. No sticky residue after using them like with some sprays.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It seemed to work as well as other anti-bac sprays we use but the smell lingered longer (in a good way!)

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'm not sure if it would sway me but I like the idea of being more environmentally friendly. Cost is important as we like everyone else are on a budget!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If it is competitively priced then yes I would pick it over other products as I felt it cleaned well.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
No - I was pleased with it - it was a good cleaner that made me feel happy that I was using more 'natural' substances on the surfaces my baby uses

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If a friened were looking for an environmentally friendly range of products then yes I would certainly mention them.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to test the spray.

Devora · 07/05/2012 00:33

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I wasn't aware of the range.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I used the anti-bac spray and really liked it. It worked very well and the smell was lovely. The packaging was fine - neutral and inoffensive.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I think it worked as well as other products I've used, and smelt nicer than most.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Cleaning power being equal, yes I prefer to buy eco products. So the green credentials are quite important to me and will definitely influence me to keep buying from this range.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes I will. I like this spray.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Packaging could be prettier - a bit more like Method range, maybe?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, I would. I'd say it's like Method but a bit less pricey.

Thank you for letting me try this product.

brighthair · 07/05/2012 00:45

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadnt noticed them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tested the washing powder and washing up liquid. The powder smelt nice, but the smell didn't linger and it clogged in the drawer. My clothes came out clean
I loved the washing up liquid, it left glasses really shiny and didn't irritate my hands.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Washing up liquid - better than usual. Washing powder - pretty much the same

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
fairly important. I try to use greener products but find they don't always work as well

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would try the washing powder again. I will definitely be buying the washing up liquid

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The powder smelt very strong and nice in the box but not so much on the dry clothes? I would like it not to clog, however I tipped the powder into the drum instead and it worked fine

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If they asked then yes!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't really heard of these products prior to this test request, but on receipt of the washing powder, I found it to be strong scented through the box as I opened the brown delivery box. The powder looked just like any other powder I've used in the past.
Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I used the powder on a dark load first and was surprised that there was no strong smell left in the clean laundry. It appeared to do just the same job as my usual Bio liquid. I used it on a light/white load and it washed the same as usual, but did not remove mud from the length of a white school sock, but I doubt my usual would either tbh. The feel of the product was nothing other than washing powder.
Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
As said in my last answer really. It worked equally well, but lacked the strong clean washing smell that I love.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like to think I'm fairly 'green' but I also like my washing the way I like it iyswim? so I would probably not buy this powder just because of its green qualities.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No, I don't think so; I think I've stated my daft/unsound reasons in my previous answers. I'm also fast going off Tesco in general due to it's enormous price hikes!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
More perfume ~ but that would probably defeat the green hue of the product Hmm.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Don't think so, unless they told me they were looking for a non bio that actually cleaned laundry or was less perfumed than others...so there is a possibility as I didn't dislike the product at all.

Thanks for letting me try it out :) I definitely wouldn't have bought it from the store to try it.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had not heard of this brand, but not averse to eco-friendly products

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The washing up liquid was not brilliant imo was yellow but didn't smell nice or lemony. I only wash saucepans though, as everything else goes in dishwasher. The antibac spray packaging seemed a bit flimsy. It smelt clean but not NATURAL. In fact some of my harsher chemicals smell more "Natural"

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The spray worked just as well as the products I usually use. Think the washing up liquid not as effective

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not important - would not affect my decision to buy.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Unlikely to buy this in future, but mainly because I buy most of my shopping online through another provider (have an annual pass)

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
packaging was very flimsy

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Unlikely to recommend, because I don't feel that it was any better than my regular cleaner. HOWEVER, I would imagine that as a Tesco own brand, perhaps it would be less expensive than e.g. Ecover and for someone trying to be ethical might be a budget option?

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had no opinion. I hadn't heard of them!

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The washing up liquid didn't smell very strong and didn't lather very well. The washing powder has quite a strong but not unpleasant smell. I was a little concerned that this would irritate our sensitive skin.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The washing powder worked just as well if not better than my usual washing powder. The washing was clean at a low temperature wash (although I couldn't test at 15 as my machine doesn't go that low) and the washing smelled lovely even though I hadn't used any fabric softener.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Green credentials are becoming more important but I am more concerned that it doesn't cause skin problems and value for money.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes at the right price because it works well and doesn't irritate sensitive skin

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
For the washing up liquid to lather better.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would if they were looking for green credentials which are good for sensitive skin.
