NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

We used the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Having never used it or heard of it, I had no opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I didn't feel that it got stains out very well at low temps on light coloured clothing and the smell of the product was very clinical.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I'm sorry to say worse all round. I'm really disappointed to be giving such a bad review but the clothing did not smell fresh and I had to use more than labeled to clean the clothing properly.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I always advocate buying products that are better for the environment but this alone would not sway me. the product has to work just as well and smell just as nice as the ones I use. We area family of 6 and we need clean clothes that stay fresh for a while after washing to avoid less washes.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No, for reasons stated above.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I'd take away the promise at the front of it to clean well at low temperatures and I would add some nice smelling ingredients- those come nturally too!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because, overall, I thought it was inferior to my current brand.

TheOneWithTheHair · 06/05/2012 08:54

I got the anti-bac spray.

Q1. I had never heard of it.

Q2. It worked well enough. I thought it smelled chemical and didn't leave a fresh smell.

Q3. It worked ok but I think my usual brand is better.

Q4. Green credentials are very important to me and looking at the ingredients this seems to be a half way house. I'm sceptical that this is as green as tesco is trying to portray.

Q5. No because it's not as green or as good as my usual products.

Q6. I would explain more fully on the bottle exactly what it's green credentials are.

Q7. No I wouldn't recommend it because my current brand works better, smells nicer and is Eco friendly.

TheOneWithTheHair · 06/05/2012 09:00

I would like to add that advertising something as more Eco-friendly than leading brands is a very open statement. What leading brands? Other Eco ones?

Also if it's just ordinary brands that doesn't mean that yours is as eco-friendly as you would like people to infer. Very misleading and I am sceptical I'm afraid.

TheProvincialLady · 06/05/2012 09:13

I used the antibacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I had never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I thought it was quite good. The smell was a bit odd - like those hot flannels in an Indian restaurant! It did the job perfectly well, nothing special.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I think it did about the same job.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes it would make me more likely to buy the product. I do try to buy greener products where possible.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes if I shop with Tesco - but I have just defected to Ocado!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? The smell...it doesn't need to be as strong.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes.

MetalSian · 06/05/2012 09:44

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had no opinion as I didn't know that it existed as a brand.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the washing powder. It worked well and smelt nice, however it did not smell as much on the clothes after the wash as my usual liquid capsules that I use do.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It seemed to clean just as well. We are potty training ugh so it has been dealing with some pooey pants.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think it is important but the price is more important for my decision to buy. If it was reasonably priced and similar cost to other products that weren't green then I would consider purchasing it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
As above.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I personally would like a bit more of the scent to come out in the clothes once they are washed.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, it seems like a good product.

Mins · 06/05/2012 10:32

I am testing the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had seen them in store but not tried them was not sure about how 'natural' they are.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Have used it a couple of times so far - did get mixed up with instructions so overdosed first time! Found smell somewhat overpowering although not unpleasant as such. Dark clothes seemed to have some powder residue although this is probably because I overdosed. Seemed to wash well - have now got a load in with some very stained PE kit so will be interested to see how that comes out.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked just as well if not better than usual products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Very important to me - would always much prefer to use natural range - but only if it works and if the price is not too high.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
May be - unsure about overpowering smell and usually use tablets rather than powder but if performance continues to be good and tablets are available and price is right then yes will probably continue to buy.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Make an unperfumed version.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I think so.

Have not tried washing up liquid sample yet - will report back later on this!

KittieCat · 06/05/2012 13:54

I am testing the anti bac multi surface spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasn't aware of this range. I regularly use a few Ecover products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I really liked this product. It smelt fresh and 'natural' with a lemongrass scent, which reminded me of holidays in Thailand. So, deffo off to a good start! I was concerned that, as it has a smell to it, it might leave a taint but it doesn't.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually use Dettol spray and I prefer this. Clearly I can't comment on the effectiveness of the anti bac side of things but I really liked the product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Green credentials are important. I use Ecover around our home but hadn't used a green anti bac spray before. If a product was green I'd be more tempted to buy. But I am also an habitual shopper and tend to stick with what I've tried.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, absolutely. I'll also try other products in the range.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The spray leaked a little when I picked up the bottle when full. Maybe mine had been bumped in the post. A v minor issue though!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend this product.

5inthebed · 06/05/2012 14:07

I tested the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Quite a plain looking box, would not get my attention on the shelf. Liked the little cup for measuring the amount and the smell was not overpowering like some.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It washed my clothes ok, but did not remove some of the more stubborn stains my DS's had on their clothes like tomato sauce.
There was no smell after ther wash, which I like on my clothes so was slightly dissaoppointed with that.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It cleaned just as well if I was washing towels/bedding but not as good with stubborn stains.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I never really look at the green credentials of my cleaning products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Would probably buy to wash things like towels and bedding where there are no stubborn stains to be taken out.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Bit more scented and a stain remover

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not really, I don't tend to reccommend anything to my friends as it never comes up.

mrsbunnyw · 06/05/2012 14:31

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I already posted an answer to this above, but in summary I had not noticed them before the trial, but quite liked the packaging and the espresso cup idea, but very much disliked the inner bag which defeats the eco-purpose of the product and is also very fiddley. Also the cup is a tight fit width-wise in the box, making it awkward to use.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The clothes appeared clean, and marks (paint, food etc) had come out, but there was no smell at all so they didn't feel or smell clean. The washing powder dosage instructions required me to use vastly more powder than my usual product, despite claiming to be a concentrate, and then most of the powder I put in got left as a sticky residue in the detergent drawer.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It clogged up the machine drawer, which my normal product does not do. The clothes looked clean, after various washes at different temperatures, but I did not like the absence of a fresh, clean smell.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I prefer to buy an eco product if it is comparable on price, but cannot afford to pay significantly extra for one.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No. I do not like the lack of fresh smell, and I do not like the way that the powder stays stuck in the dispenser drawer as a sticky mess - roughly half the dosage gets left like that.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make the product dissolve better so it doesn't leave a sticky residue in the drawer, and add a fresh scent so you can tell that your clothes are actually clean.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No. The sticky residue and lack of smell outweigh the cute espresso cup measure and would mean I would not recommend the product, sorry!

KittieCat · 06/05/2012 14:41

In Q3 I wasn't clear, in that I prefer the Tesco anti bac over the Dettol spray.

Oakmaiden · 06/05/2012 14:46

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hopeful but slightly dubious based on having tried other eco products elsewhere. I rarely find them as effective.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Overall, not very impressed, I'm afraid. My clothes were generally clean, but there were small marks which didn't come out, which I would have expected my standard washing liquid to have removed. The first time I used it half the powder was left in the drawer in a soggy lump - and I only used 1 cup. I also wasn't that keen on the smell - it didn't smell BAD, but it didn't smell lovely wither. I like my washing to smell "just washed"....

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I don't feel it worked as well (I normally use Tesco won brand non bio liquid).

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
If it was equally effective I would prefer to buy eco products - but when it comes down to it I DO like my whites to be "really white"... that is sadly a bit more important to me.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No. I just didn't think it was that great.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Change the smell, and make it work better! I did like the little cardboard cup as a measuring device though.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. See above.

kandinskysgirl · 06/05/2012 14:48

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't really noticed them, however I tend to think they an be a bit rubbish and don't clean as well.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The anti-bac spray cleans well and has a really nice smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I don't normally use anti-bac spray but this worked very well,
Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
To be honest the price is more important to me, if it's green then that's good but it is a secondary consideration.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes I will

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Can't think of any.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I would.

Oakmaiden · 06/05/2012 14:49

Oh - obviously above (or below, depending which way up you are looking at this thread!) I am talking about the washing powder.

slalomsuki · 06/05/2012 14:52

Never heard of them mumsnet despite being a semi regular Tesco shopper.

The bottle had leaked on delivery giving me a sneak preview of the smell before using it.

Have cleaned the cooker hob, microwave and fridge with it. The smell was a bit overpowering and lingered inside the microwave but it did a good cleaning job.

I would recommend it to a friend if asked.

inmysparetime · 06/05/2012 15:05

I tried the anti bacterial spray.
I didn't really notice the brand before the test to be honest.
The spray is really lemony, but gets the surfaces shiny enough, and waiting a few seconds it even shifts dried on stuff.
I was not that impressed by the Eco credentials though, it still contained a fair few nasty sounding chemicals (didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride for one), while the bullet points on the front carefully implied it was plant derived only the non-ionic surfactants actually were.
The spray nozzle drips after use as some catches in the cap.
Overall, a good cleaning product, but it needs a bit more in the way of natural ingredients to fit my view of an "Eco" product.
How about tea tree oil, citronella or lavender? They are naturally antibacterial.

Popoozle · 06/05/2012 15:10

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
That "Eco" products do not work as well as the standard version.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tried the washing powder. I felt that the performance was identical to that of my normal non-bio detergent (although I do not normally buy powder as it tends to be messy). I can't say I particularly noticed a smell to either the powder or my laundry - which, I suppose, can be a good thing in a non-bio.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

As above. Copy & paste Grin.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I do prefer to buy ecologically friendly products where possible, however we are on a tight budget and I cannot always afford to do so. I would purchase the washing powder if the price per wash was comparable to my usual non-bio detergent.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

As above. Copy & paste Grin.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would put the powder straight into the box - as most washing powders are packaged. I found the extra plastic bag odd - especially in an eco product. The measuring cup is great but please could we have more than one marking on it? Most washes will not be using 30ml of powder (not in this hard water area anyway!).

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, if it came up.

jojo1983 · 06/05/2012 15:17

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had no real opinion of them as never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
As many have already said some of the washing powder was left in the tray after the wash load had finished. The clothes smelt clean but had no real smell to them which i kinda disliked.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The product worked just as well the clothes came out clean but them again i didnt have a very grubby wash load.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, I normall ybuy what is on offer to save money

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If on offer I would

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
A better smell, and for it to wash away from the tray when doing a wash load (if this makes sence it does in my little head lol)

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would mention that I have used it and give my honest thoughts on it

NoVeggiesBeforeEggies · 06/05/2012 15:25

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was very happy, liked the smell, and (oddly) the way the spray sprayed! It didn't dribble as some spray cleaners do.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I would say it smelt better, couldn't say if it cleaned better or not. Certainly as good as.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Very important.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If the price is right, then yes, definitely.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
None.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, only if it came up in conversation, mind ;)

noyouhavehadawee · 06/05/2012 16:34

We gor the antibac spray:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadnt heard of them but assumed they wouldbe more expensive than the regular ones available

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
It is doing a good job cleaning my work tops and cooker, handy to just spray and wipe. I didnt like the smell to be honest, when it arrived it had leaked in the bag and box so subsequently my room smelt like a piblic loo for a bit. The ferny foresty smell defo reminded me of those cheapo airfreshners in public loos or at my grans.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well , its just the smell putting me of a citrus apple smell would be more appealing to me.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Pretty important though cheap is important also

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
i dont know how much they are in store so that would certainly sway my decision (adn the smell)

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
nicer smells

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes i probably would as they perform as i would hope.
Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I'm not sure if I have ever used them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I got the washing powder and I was really impressed with it, I liked the fact that it didn't have much of a fragrance, generally natural products seem to smell like lavender which I don't like. I also don't like the smell of commercial washing products they smell chemically. The washing power performed really well at both 40 and 60 degrees. It foamed well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I usually use Method products, I really like them and I love the packaging, Tesco should look at the method packaging it's really funky, good enough to have on display in your house. The washing powder worked just as well as the method liquid I usually buy, I like the fact that it is concentrated so the packaging is smaller. Method also do a lot of refills, something Tesco should consider too.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Very important and it would influence if I bought or not.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Possibly, depends on price and availability.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Packaging, apart from that nothing.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend the products to a friend.

lucjam · 06/05/2012 17:18

Oh I forgot to say that the washing up liquid was good and foamed well and performed well.

Badvoc · 06/05/2012 17:36

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasnt hopeful. Have tried "eco" products in the past - ecover and the like -and have not been impressed. I normally use the co-op own brand range of non bio gel and softner.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I liked the smell of the non bio powder. I also liked the lemony smell of the washing up liquid. The washing up liquid foamed up well but I needed to top it up with my usual one (fairy) after a while. I have used the non bio powder at 30, 40 and 60 degree washes and it works a lot better at a higher temp.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

As I said above, the non bio powder worked excellently at 60 degrees...it got out large mud/grass stains on my 2 sons trousers after they had played football. I was really surprised by this. It didnt work so well at lower temps though and I had to re-wash one of my younger sons tops after pre school as the (paint) stains had not come out.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would really like to buy eco friendly products and do try to (I use the method range of cleaning products usually) but when it comes to laundry I have never found an eco non bio powder/gel that works at low temps.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Perhaps. Depends on the price!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

No plastic bag in the powder box. (I like the little measuring cup though!)
Better cleaning at lower temps.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would.

MumToTiny · 06/05/2012 17:42

We tried the anti-bac spray.

  1. Had never heard of the range before this test.
  1. I've been happy with the spray, haven't tried the washing up liquid yet (may have lost the little sachet actually). There's a lovely scent to the spray, it really smells as though I've been hard at work cleaning! It seems to clean well, and no-one has come down with any nasty bugs, so presumably the anti-bacterial bit works!
  1. Usually use Mr Muscle. I think the naturally powered stuff smells nicer.
  1. Not remotely interested in the green credentials, sorry Blush
  1. Yes, if it's as cheap as my usual brand. Wouldn't pay extra for it though (am cheapskate)
  1. Can't think of any!
  1. Can't imagine myself having that conversation, but I would tell people that it smelled nice, if we did discuss it!

Thanks for picking me to take part!

I received the Antibacterial Spray to test

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Didn't have one - not heard of this brand before. However I had heard and used other similarly branded products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the spray to clean my fridge after I had spent a fortnight in hospital with my DD and DH forgot about the vegetables in the bottom Hmm so when I opened the fridge I needed Wine until I cleaned it out. It worked very well and although there was a slight smell left (which I expected) the performance generally outweighed my expectations.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

They worked just as well as what I normally use. I have a toddler, 2 older children and 2 greyhounds who jump up at work surfaces so its important I keep those areas clean while cooking etc.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I like green credentials in any cleaning product. If the price was right I would definitely buy and if there was an offer I would definitely buy.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Probably based on the performance so far.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Nothing I can think of

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely.

We tried the washing powder

Q1. I've seen them on the shelf but it's a small box and I get through alot of washing with DH's work clothes so hadn't really looked at it much

Q2. It wasn't particularly great on DH's work clothes, the grease didn't come out entirely and it didn't seem to get rid of the sweaty/greasy man odour he comes home with. My stuff came out well, DD's poo stains were a bit more stubborn and found a pre-soak helped, but would rather be doing withouth that. The smell was quite neutral and not particularly unpleasant. I did find I was using 60g on a typical wash [2 cup loads] with no real stains, smells or grease. The box did about 20 loads of washing, not a full weeks worth of powder.

Q3. I have two different products I use at the moment, DH's work powder is a bio and will get the sweat, grease and grime first time round with a 60g dose. I have non-bio for the everyday stuff, it tends to do the job first time round, but will add a dose of pre-soak in the most poo stained washes. The naturally powered hasn't performed as well as I hoped it would, I did have to put things on again as they weren't clean or still had a hum about them.

Q4. Green credentials are quite important to me, but I would prefer to buy a powder that was able to clean first time around, rather than being poor value for money.

Q5. I might try it again if it's redeveloped and offered in larger boxes.

Q6. Though it was fine on everyday clothes with minimal stains it didn't perform well when it came to poo stains and smelly/greasy clothes, I think this needs to be addressed. I'd also prefer to buy a bigger box, At the moment the box size I buy tends to last a month, the naturally powered box lasted less than a week, though I did have to put some washes back through again.

Q7. I'd recommend it if they were washing clothes that weren't stained/greasy/smelly.
