Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't heard of them, so no opinion.
Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Spray cleaner: This worked okay, I used it for light cleaning on kitchen surfaces, and had a go with it on a rather grubby vinyl kitchen floor. It was fine for light cleaning, it didn't 'deep clean' the floor but got rid of surface grime. I wasn't keen on the smell, the lemon smell was boring, a bit too strong, and (ironically) artificial.
The nozzle also dripped heavily when the bottle was tipped.
WUL: This gave lots of bubbles which was good, but again I wasn't keen on the smell, a bit artificial and overpowering, and it lingered on the dishes. It cleaned the dishes well enough, though I didn't try it on anything really greasy and grimy
Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Spray cleaner: I'm using Method spray cleaner at the moment which smells wonderful (which is the main reason I use it), it's also kind to skin and works well enough, and the bottle looks nice in the bathroom. Performance of the Tesco one was probably comparable, it just wasn't as nice to use.
WUL: I usually use Fairy (the non-moisturising version, usually original flavour) - I would say the bubbles and cleaning were comparably good as you didn't need to use much of the Tesco one, just not keen on the smell.
Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes it would, I like the thought that you can put things down the drain without causing too much damage. I wasn't convinced by the product information, there wasn't anything to say what the impact was of putting it down the drain, or really why it was any different from other liquids. And 'independently performance tested' seems a meaningless phrase.
The scents seem strong and artificial, and don't enhance the 'natural' image the product seems to be trying to project.
As far as I can see the only 'eco' thing about the products is that they are more concentrated so cheaper/more efficient to transport and sell.
Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I don't think so. I'd probably choose it over things like Cillit Bang or Flash though, as they are even more strong and 'artificial' seeming.
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Better, more subtle smells. Emphasise kind to skin (if they are?) and really try and explain why they are less 'tainting' than other products. More info on impact on environment.
Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
No - not a clear enough 'selling point', also not keen the smell.
