NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
NO REAL OPINION OTHER THAN PERHAPS THEY WERE LESS EFFECTIVE BECAUSE THEY WERE KINDER.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I DIDNT NOTICE A SMELL WHEN I OPENED THE PACKAGING, WHICH WAS A BIT OF A SHAME. HOWEVER, THE WASHING WAS NO WORSE WASHED THAN USUAL, WHICH IS GREAT. I'M VERY BAD AT WASHING FOR SOME REASON, SO NO WHITES ARE EVER WHITE. BUT THIS KEPT UP TO MY USUAL STANDARDS.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
OOPS, I THINK I ANSWERED THIS ABOVE. THIS EQUALLED MY USUAL, AND WORKED BETTER THAN SOAPNUTS, WHICH I USED TO USE ALL THE TIME.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
IF I THOUGHT ABOUT IT, IT PROBABLY WOULD INFLUENCE ME. BUT COST WILL ALWAYS BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, SADLY.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IT IS. I DONT THINK I WAS IMPRESSED ENOUGH TO CHANGE WITHOUT A GOOD REASON. I TEND TO BUY ONE OR TWO PRODUCTS DEPENDING WHAT IS ON OFFER, SO THERE WOULD NEED TO BE AN OFER ON THIS ONE.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
ARE THE BOXES THIS SIZE NORMALLY? IT WAS A BIT FIDDLY WITH THE PLASTIC BAG INSIDE.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I DONT THINK IT WOULD EVER COME UP IN MY CONVERSATION! I WOULDN'T CRITICISE THE PRODUCT, BUT I WOULD PROBABLY BE AMBIVALENT.

PutOnAHappyFace · 04/05/2012 19:22

I was testing the anti bac spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them so didn't have an opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
It cleaned my work surfaces to a ok standard and smelt nice

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It didnt leave my surfaces looking as clean as my usually cleaner would.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not very important, wouldn't pay more just because it was green.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No i wont, it just didn't feel as clean as my normal cleaner.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
leave more of a shine on surfaces.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it because it doesn't leave a strong chemical smell but not because it doesn't clean as well.

gloriafloria · 04/05/2012 19:31

I tested the anti-bac multi surface spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I thought they would be less powerful than other leading brands.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The product has a pleasant smell and the bottle is similar in style to other anti-bac sprays. It seems to work well. I use it mainly on my table cloth and worktops and it does the job.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I think it works just as well as my usual products and smells better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

If I'm honest I didn't really consider the green credentials of these types of products as my main concern was that the product would work effectively.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I think I will continue to buy this range as the product does what it should and if it helps the environment then this is a benefit as well.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

As far as the packaging goes I would make the 'kills 99.9%' wording much bigger. If I didn't know about this spray I may not pick it up on first glance as I might have the impression it is not strong enough.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would as I've been happy with the spray. I chat with friends and family about all sorts of products and that is often how I hear of new ones to try out.

Chulita · 04/05/2012 19:37

I tested the anti-bacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I'd never heard of them before but on receipt of the spray I thought the packaging looked decent.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The spray worked well, had a good smell but it did dry my hands out quite a bit. I also have a metal sink and found that while the first spray smelled lovely, the more I cleaned the more I smelled metal rather than cleanliness. I found it really brought out the metallic smell of the sink. It did clean well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well as the spray I normally use but the smell was on the sink was really off-putting.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I try to buy 'green' if possible but often I don't like either the price or the effect so yes, the green credentials would definitely draw me to the product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I might use it in the bathroom but I'm not keen in the kitchen due to the smell. Because it does dry my hands out quite a bit I'm not sure I'd keep using it, depends on the price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

SMELL!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I'd mention as an alternative to other green products because it is effective in cleaning off tea stains/light limescale etc.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/05/2012 19:39

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasn't sure the natural stuff would work as well as good old fashioned chemicals Blush

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I thought this worked just as well as the ordinary Tesco cleaner and the Milton one. It smelt too fruity for me (like the Milton one yuck) I like a nice chemical smell, makes it seem more clean!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably wouldn't have made much difference to me but now I have tried it, if it's the same price or cheapest I will buy it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Again, if it's the same price or cheaper, yes.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The smell.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I think most people I know would be interested to know that something 'natural' can work as well as chemical based things and would therefore be persuaded to buy it.

fairfs · 04/05/2012 19:52

I tested the anti-bacterial spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them as don't usually shop in Tesco.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The product did smell nice, and packaging was quite pleasant. It appeared to work quite well. I liked the different sprays you could use by twizzling the top! The bottle did leak though and if you picked up the bottle some of the liquid sprayed out as you held it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked just as well I think, but I did test Dettol's Pure range and thought it was better. Nicer smell and not as diluted.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It would affect my decision as I do try reduce amount of chemicals in the house BUT I do like a clean house so only would use if it I felt it was properly anti-bacterial. Not sure quite how 'green' this was...more explanation?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Possibly, but don't often shop at Tesco and wouldn't go in just for this.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Better bottle

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might do, but think I would recommend Dettol's range over this.

doodledee · 04/05/2012 20:06

I'm testing the washing powder
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? First thing i noticed was the large IRRITANT cross on the packaging, not a good start for a so called natural brand

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I liked the smell, not too overpowering and the performance was on par with other non bio products, some stains left behind (baby food related).

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? It's a long time since i've used a powder, normally have liquid and i did notice a lot of product left in the dispensing drawer after the wash. No better or worse than current non bio (Lidl)

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I'm trying to switch all my cleaning products to 'greener' ones and have done it with other household cleaners, wash up liquid, antibac spray, loo cleaner (LOVE method products) but have yet to find washing powder that performs as well (although quite like the 'simply' tubs)

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Probably not tbh, i don't have a tesco near me and wouldn't go out of my way to buy this.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Perhaps trial a liquid form? Powder is soooo yesterday !

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Afraid not, it didn't wow me that much, sorry! But i've only used it twice and 2nd wash does seem better than 1st so i may yet be persuaded

umiaisha · 04/05/2012 20:50

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Thought they would be as useless as other environmentally friendly brands ie ecover

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Pleasantly surprised. Removed the same stains as my usual detergent and smelt nice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The same

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

A bonus. Would definitely rather buy an environmentally friendly product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, if the price is right

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

none
Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely

modernbear · 04/05/2012 20:56

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I have never seen them in or out of store before. I thought it was a new range.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I have been testing the antibacterial spray. I liked the smell, a pleasant clean fragrance. The spray was effective and easy to use.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Was particularly struck how fresher the kitchen smelt than the usual cleaning products that we use. No visible difference in terms of getting rid of grime.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

The green credentials are important. Would like to know more about what this means though.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would do a bit more investigation into it. Looking at price and what was meant by the 'green credentials'.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

It would be good if they could do antibacterial wipes as well.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would not recommend it until I felt certain about it. All I would stay is that it 'seems' like a good product but a bit unsure about it at the moment.

tittytittyhanghang · 04/05/2012 21:00

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

didn't have one

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It cleaned my sons's high chair fine. Had a really nice clean smell. Did what it says it would.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as good.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not important at all.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Depends how much it costs compared to other products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

My nozzle leaked if not switched off and on its side. No other product bottles have done this.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Maybe, it did have a lovely smell.

snice · 04/05/2012 21:26

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I didn't have one-never really noticed them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tested the washing powder. I liked the packet design and the little measuring cup although with the size of the box I tested it was very tricky to get the powder into the cup. I thought it smelled ok in the box but I didnt like the smell of the clothes when I got them out of the machine-they smelt odd-sort of yeasty. Also we live in a very hard water area and there was about a teaspoon full of powder left in the drawer that I had to scrape out-perhaps I used too much. The clothes came out clean other than my son's school sweatshirt which had food stains left on it after a 30 degree wash-I think I should have pre treated with a stain removeras it is a non-bio product. I'm not sure this powder would get muddy football clothes clean like my usual bio liquid.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It was generally ok apart from the lower temperature wash mentioned above. However I am so used to a fragranced product that I didn't like this powder at all -the clothes smelled like wet dogs as I was having to dry them on radiators/airers round the house because of the weather. I imagine that if'd they had been dried on a line they would have smelt better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not that important to be honest-I on't look for eco products

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I wouldnt expect it to get really filthy things clean altough it was good for lighter washes-and didn't feel itchy. Mainly the smell issue was what put me off.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
A pouring bit at the side of the box. A fresher smell.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not particularly-although if they wanted an eco product I'd say this was their best bet.

snice · 04/05/2012 21:27

Forgot to say-the washing up liquid was very good-smell ok,good bubbles and cleaned well.

vixo · 04/05/2012 21:33

I tested the non-bio washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them until I read about the product test. I was then hoping they would be a good eco alternative to my usually products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I really didn't like the smell at all, it was far too strong and immediately made me question the eco credentials as it smelled so chemically. It worked on a par with my usual products.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think it worked simlarly to what I usually use, but I wouldn't use it on the childrens' clothes as it smelled too strong and my eldest has eczema so I use only unfragranced products, or often only washing balls.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credentials are important, as I try and buy eco friendly products where possible. I didn't feel there was any information on the box explaining what the 'green credentials' actually are for this product, other than a website address, which I wouldn't bother to look up if I was in a supermarket.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No. I didn't like the smell or the packaging. I'm not sure why there is a plastic liner to the cardboard box, but again, this doesn't seem very 'green', and I found it awkward to either scoop the product out with the cup, or tip it into the cup without spilling it.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
As above

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. I didn't think it was as good as the products I usually use, and I didn't think it had enough 'green credentials' to sell it to me for that reason.

asuwere · 04/05/2012 21:44

I was testing the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't really noticed them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It worked well, did the job, had quite a nice, fresh smell on the clothes once washed. I thought it smelt quite strong in the box so I was worried about using it but it is fine on the clothes.
The little paper measuring cup is very cute but is very awkward to use, especially when further down the box as it's a bit of a tight fit.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

it worked just as well as my usual products. I'm not a fan of washing powder - I usually use liquid so that did put me off slightly, but it definitely worked just as well as my usual stuff.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It does depend on price. If a 'green' product is the same price as something else, then I will choose it over anything else but generally, I do choose what is on offer!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

As Q4, depending on price. If it's a good price, then I would but I wouldn't specifically choose it over something cheaper.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would make the paper cup smaller (it has a measure on side, so only need just over half a cup so doesn't need to be that size) or put hole on box to pour powder.
Also, didn't like the plastic bag inside the box - seems a bit unnecessary packaging for a 'green' product.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I may not go out of my way to recommend it, but I would say that I've tested it and it does work well but as I said, I think it would depend on price.

Loveacuppa · 04/05/2012 21:49

Sorry, was so focused on answering the q's I didn't really add that I do think its tricky having an eco kitchen cleaner, purely because if someone was v eco, surely they'd just use E cloths, which clean with water alone? I do use cheap versions of e cloths, but also a spray, almost like belt and braces approach (also habit). But thinking about it, could poss get away with just using the cloths, filling empty tester bottle with water and using that to fulfil my spray habit. That would be eco wouldn't it? Or am I missing the point somewhere?

tigger32 · 04/05/2012 21:51

I tested the wash powder.

Q1 I hadn't noticed it, as don't often shop in tesco.

Q2, Overall I'm really happy with the product, it smells quite strong in the box but just right once used on the clothes. I have used it on towels, a dark wash and a light wash and am really happy with how the wash powder has worked. Everything seems clean and smells fresh. I love the fact that you don't need to use much.
On the washing up liquid, it also worked well but not quite as well as my usual one.

Q3 The wash powder worked just as well as my usual brand.

Q4 They are quite important although I would not buy a product simply because it was green, it would have to work well too.

Q5 Depends on the price.

Q6 None.

Q7 If it came up in conversation then yes I would.

DrSocks · 04/05/2012 22:00

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I'd never heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
They seemed to do a fine job of cleaning (I washed at 39 degrees). However, I was disappointed by the smell, just didn't have that lovely fresh clean washing smell.
Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
They worked equally as well, but I probably want to test them on some more heavily soiled things.
Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I prefer green things but I prefer a lovely smell. The two never seem to go together sadly!
Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
It depends. I would if it was significantly cheaper than what I currently use (Surf) but I suspect that's unlikely!
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I'd really like a nicer smell!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I can't say cleaning products often come up but I'd only really recommend something exceptional which this wasnt!

swampster · 04/05/2012 22:14

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I have been washing shedloads of laundry using the washing powder. I really hate the smell, I find it overpowering and quite nauseating but I'm relieved that the clothes come out of the machine smelling pretty much of nothing. But that might be testament to my wickedly efficient washing machine and the fact that I feel compelled to sluice extra water through the clothes during the rinse cycle.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

My clothes are no different to how they normally are.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I prefer buying green products but unless the smell of this stuff changed a lot I wouldn't ever buy it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will not be buying the Tesco Naturally Powered range. I hate the smell.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Change the smell.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would tell them its results are no better or worse than most other washing products but it smells foul.

Cinders22 · 04/05/2012 22:19

I tested the anti bacterial spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I was not aware of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The product worked really well, better than I expected in that I have found previous eco products to be a bit weak. I really liked the smell which lingered so the room smelt and looked clean.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It cleaned just as well but I do prefer the smell of this one.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do not usually seek out eco green products but may be convinced to try them again now. This is a decision based on in the past I have found the eco products to not be as good.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes I would definitely buy this again.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes if I were having a conversation about cleaning products I would recommend it.

I would like to comment though that if held at an angle (who knew I did that whilst cleaning!) it's leaks.

Does clearly say to store and use upright, but I was just holding it at a slight ankle and it was dripping out the nozzle

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had seen them instore and was half and half about buying them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was not impressed, the washing powder smelt like wet dog and doesnt smell fresh at all- the washing up liquid was ok but not something to rave about

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The washing powder worked ok but the smell wasnt acceptable-indeed my son complained about it.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I would like to buy more environmentally friendly products but the price, quality and scent has to be right.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No,I wouldnt buy the powder or washing up liquid but might try the kitchen cleaner and loo cleaner.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Improve the scent.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
NO im afraid not,the scent put me off.

I feel a bit guilty for not saying positive things but I have to be honest and say how I feel.

Sorry Tesco and thanks for the trial.

I tested the washing powder and, generally, liked it. Thanks for the sample.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of them. I shop online and tend to buy the same products every week.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It washed fine, performance was satisfactory. I liked the smell, pleasant in the box and subtle on the washed clothes. Liked the measuring cup. Didn't like the plastic box liner, made it hard to scoop powder without spilling.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

No detectable difference in performance, and the natural smell and feel of washed material was perfectly acceptable, though less perfumed than our normal powder.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

We are generally very supportive of measures to protect the environment, so this product's 'green credentials' would be a factor when deciding whether or not to switch to it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

We do need to take price into account before choosing a washing powder, but, assuming this is competitive, would probably buy again.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

1) Would be interested in a product that is safe with all materials - I was hoping that as a 'natural' product it might be usable on wool and silk. 2) Ditch the plastic liner. Is it really necessary in a product marketed as 'green'?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Would very likely recommend, but would like to research more into the 'green credentials' and whether the environmental benefits are supported by an independent agency.

I got round to using the washing up liquid today, I thought it worked well, smelt ok, not too bubbly - which I d

GhostTrain · 04/05/2012 23:09

don't mind as I seem to remember hearing once the bubbles are just for show in some cleaning products.

I've been testing the antibacterial spray. So far I've used it to clean DS's potty, the toilet and on a spillage on the rug.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
*It looked very similar to others on the market, but the name suggests that it's a bit milder and gentler than other more chemically ones.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
*It did't seem as chemically as others. It made things feel clean, and even managed to lift a stain off the rug that wipes haven't got rid of! The bottle is very prone to leaking, as is the nozzle so Im not fussed on the feel of it, on the basis that I don't really want it all over my hands. The smell is lovely - really lemony, if a tad over-powering.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
*I'd say it works just as well as other antibacterial products for that purpose, but better on a stain than normal antibac wipes.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
*I like that it's green, because I don't like things with too many chemicals coming into contact with mine and my family's skin, nor breathing in the smells and fumes of chemicals. I would certainly consider buying this over another brand knowing that it's more natural.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
*As long as the price is reasonable I will consider buying this because of the greener qualities than my usual brand.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
*Definitely look into the packaging. The bottle had leaked in the box when it arrived, and the nozzle leaks even when switched to the "off" position. The nozzle also seems to dribble when spraying, which means I either get it on myself, the floor, or too much on the surface I'm spraying.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
*Yes, because if the green credentials and the nice smell. I would however warn about the poor packaging.

I have yet to try the washing up liquid but I will add my comments when I do.
