NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I've never heard of the brand before, so didn't have an opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The one I've sampled is the Antibacterial spray. I'm not sure if it worked as in, if it killed any bacteria. But it seemed to leave my table top nice and clean. I also preferred the smell of this product over my usual antibacterial spray. I find it has a quite pleasant (for a cleaner!) cucumber-y sort of smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually use Milton antibacterial spray. I can't say for sure if the Tesco cleaner I sampled killed more bacteria than Milton did. The Milton label says to leave for 5 minutes to kill bacteria and 15 minutes to kill fungi, and you are supposed to leave it on the surface to dry naturally to allow it to work. The Tesco cleaner however, just said to spray and wipe, nothing about that. Maybe it does work as well as Milton, since the formulas are different, but I don't know about that.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It would be slightly important to me, but not to the point of affecting my decision to buy. I am more concerned with it's efficiency and price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would, depending on the price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Not any I can think of.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it, yes. I think it's a decent cleaner, does the job, quite pleasant to use, and it's eco-friendly.

Antibacterial spray

Q1. Had never heard of them

Q2. Cleaned well,no residue or stickiness, smelt lovely.

Q3.Worked as well and I prefered this one as it didnt smell like chemicals.

Q4. Quite important - I'd pay a little extra for the green stuff.

Q5. If I am shopping a Tesco I'll get it, but wouldn't go out of my way.

Q6. The bottle leaked a little in transit - may be because going through the postal system is more brutal than a normal shopping delivery.

Q7. Yes if it came up I would say I had used it and say good things about it.

balia · 03/05/2012 19:59

I was testing the anti-bac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was quite happy with the performance of the products; the spray cleaned effectively, smelled fine.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Just as good as my normal products but the main point of an anti-bac is that it kills bacteria and you can't see that.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't usually buy green because they are more expensive (I find about 30% more than 'own brand' I usually get). If I was going to spend extra for green credentials, I would want to be much more convinced that it was actually 'green' in some substantial way. Phrases like 'developed with eco experts' with no detail convince me not one bit. The ingredients don't look massively different from , say, Dettol antibac, and that has credentials from the allergy foundation, which is important to me. .

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I wouldn't because it is more expensive than other antibac and I'm not convinced it is 'green'

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? The products in themselves are fine.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
No I wouldn't - it didn't seem anything special to me.

georgieandjess · 03/05/2012 20:07

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I thought they were a Tesco rip off of Ecover. Had never tried them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The anti bacterial spray was good and smelled nice. It did a good job of cleaning my worktops. It definitely smelled better than more chemical based cleaners that I have used.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It did work as well as my usual product

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I prefer to use green products and have used Ecover for years. My husband can be affected by very strong sprays so the more natural the product the better

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will use the spray if it is priced competitively and would buy on special offer

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The bottle leaked a bit so this needs to be improved

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I probably would.

oopslateagain · 03/05/2012 20:08

Oh - to add to my earlier feedback - I washed up last night using the free sample. Not a huge amount of washing up, just from a stir-fry and rice, so three plates, cutlery, three mugs, a saucepan and a wok with a spatula and a serving spoon. The suds had vanished by the time I finished the tableware; I washed the saucepan and there was grease floating on the water and the saucepan was greasy. I had to add some Fairy to the water to finish the washing up.

Not impressed.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Only read the info above, but do all my shopping in tesco, and hadn't seen them around or advertised.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Antibacterial spray - initially didn't seem to have any smell, but it increased in power as time cleaning went on. Not my favourite lemon scent ever, but better than some of the harsher chemical smells we've had in other products. It works, and cleans. Haven't tested the antibacterial properties!

Washing up Liquid - awful. No suds, and although it was a pretty tough test I gave it (grill pan), it didn't clean and I had to get the normal stuff out. It smelt horrible (but then I'm a very traditional green washing up liquid girl, I don't like the other colours for some reason)

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Antibac - works as well as anything else.
Washing up liquid - useless

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

If all else was equal, I would buy green, but in the current economic climate, I wouldn't pay more than the current products (and we have just brand challenged down, and rejected value range cleaners)

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I looked for the products in my local tesco, and can't find it, so I won't buy it in the short term. Would try them out if price comparable and available locally. I wouldn't try the washing up liquid again.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Don't like the stream function on the spray - I'd prefer both sides to be spray rather than one spray and one stream.
The washing up liquid needs to clean!!!!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If someone wanted a green cleaner, shopped in tesco and it was available locally, I'd mention them.

janx · 03/05/2012 20:11

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? No idea they existed

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I used the anti - bac spray and I thought the smell was overpowering - it seemed to the job in terms of cleaning though
The other product was the washing up liquid..the sample was so small that it didn't really last very long. The smell was better than the spray

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked about the same

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
It would effect my decision to buy

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Not the spray - it was too chemical smelling

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Ditch the overpowering smell

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would probably not recommend it

Trying the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't seen them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The product did seem to clean the clothes quite well but like some others, it has really clogged up the drawer in my washing machine.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I normally use the Method liquid which I love, this cleans as well, if not better, and the smell is non-offensive but the powder left in the drawer is a real deal breaker for me!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do prefer to buy "green" products so that would make me more likely to buy.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
After reading the reviews I would like to try the antibac spray and the washing up liquid was great so I would probably buy that too. I would most probably try some other products too depending on price and what the range consists of!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Make is dissolve better!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not the washing powder no, as I guess it doesn't work well with our local water.

Thank you for letting us try it though!

Hi, I've been using the Naturally Powered washing powder all week, and I like it. Here are my responses to the questions:

  1. I hadn't heard of Naturally Powered before because I buy from Sainsburys online.
  2. I thought the product was good, cleaned well. It is a bit messy using a powder, I did spill some on the floor while getting the filled cup out of the box. Also, I found the powder smelt quite strong, I would like it to be a little less strong, but when the clothes have been washed they do not smell strongly which is what I like.
  3. They cleaned just as well, but I haven't had the opportunity to try on really bad stains yet, just general dirty washing.
  4. The green credentials are incredibly important to me, I much prefer buying green products.
  5. If I shopped at Tesco I would buy from this range, although I would prefer liquid to powder. However, I shop at Sainsburys!
  6. I would suggest a way of getting the powder out without spilling it, although it did only happy once, it would have been annoying if I had paid for the powder. I would also reduce the strength of the smell a little, it was rather strong before washing.
  7. I would recommend these products, I thought they were good and cleaned well.
It was fun testing and trying out another environmentally friendly product. Thanks for the opportunity! Best wishes, Serendipity1980
serendipity1980 · 03/05/2012 20:30

I just wanted to add that I didn't add the powder to the drawer, I added it to the drum, as I do with my usual Method laundry liquid, and this worked well. So I cannot comment on the powder blocking the drawer. I do prefer the smell of Method too!

Q1; I haven't noticed them prior to being sent the tester
Q2; there's no strong smell which I prefer and also as a result it does't effect the taste of any foods prepared on the worktops after using it.
Q3; it's better, works really well on cleaning the kitchen
Q4; green credentials aren't that important to me for products such as kitchen sprays, although I do feel better using 'green' products for my family. I tend to go for what's on offer.
Q5; I will continue to use the anti bac spray purely due to the fact it doesn't smell too strong but still cleans well.
Q6; the spray tended to leak if I squeezed the bottle even gently, getting it out of the cupboard.
Q7; yes, I'd recommend. for the above mentioned reason.

Wilts · 03/05/2012 20:43

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had not heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The washing powder was good, it cleaned well on a rapid clean wash. I thought the powder was quite strong smelling in the box, but the smell was barely noticeable on the clothes.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The powder is working as well as any other I have used.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't tend to buy eco friendly products, usually due to cost implications, therefore I would not be swayed into buying because of its green credentials.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase from the range, however, if the price was right and I was in Tesco then I probably would.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The packaging, I didn't like the plastic inside the box it, it seems unnecessary.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would be happy to say that I had used it and that it cleaned well.

40for40 · 03/05/2012 20:51

I tested the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I didn't know anything about them. I tend to just blindly reach for my usual brands unless there is a big stand with a substantial discount on something else.
Since having kids, I have had to ditch a lot of my green credentials because, unfortunately, most of the greener product lines I find to be more expensive and just don't shift the dirt the way I need it to get shifted!

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I thought the washing powder was fine. It didn't get out some of the heavier stains like mud on a rugby kit or ketchup on a school top.

I liked the neat box and the little cup was cute and definitely stuck with the green credentials. However, it was very annoying that it only had the '30' mark when the vast majority of people will need a different amount. What seemed to be a small box for a lot of washes quickly became a small box with not many washes once I hit the medium/heavy soiling option in this very hard water area.

I found the bag a bit tricky to open so it ended up with a messy top - this affected how well it poured in to the cup. I did dig my whole hand in at one point!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It didn't perform as well as my bio powders but performed on a par with other non bios I have tried before. Although the packaging is supposed to be greener, it wasn't convenient to use in this format.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I am less idealistic than I used to be because I need quick and affordable results. However, if this had outperformed my usual brand then I would have been happy to change for the green credentials.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I won't buy this again unless it is on offer. If I do buy it on offer, I will use it for lightly soiled quick washes rather than the daily, heavily soiled stuff. However, I am seriously tempted by the spray having read the reviews on here. I have also just tried out the washing up liquid and that seems great. Again, I would select that on price rather than on green credentials alone.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make the internal packaging easier to use, mark up the cup with all the various amounts listed on the back of the pack.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the washing up liquid without prompting. If someone asked me about green powders then I would mention that it does as good a job as any of the others but I wouldn't be evangelical about it. However, I would mention the spray despite not using it myself! Oh the power of a mumsnet review...

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Not heared of that particular range, have used eco products before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I have the anti-bac spray, it smells ok, better than tescos version of dettox whih i can't use because it makes my throat sore

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Just as well
Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? It would do, but only if it was reasonably priced

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? If it is reasonably priced

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? The trigger is crap, it feels like it is going to break

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? i can't imagine having a conversation about cleaning products

Are all the ingredients natural? The list looked pretty chemically to me, or is it just paying lip service to natural ingredients because it has some naturally derived ingredients?

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

had never heard of them, although we shop regularly in Tesco.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the washing powder. Really liked the smell in the box, although the clothes didn't smell of it once they were washed and dried. I don't like things to have an overpowering scent but it would have been nice if the smell had lingered a bit. The performance was on a par with Tesco non-bio, but to be honest I stopped buying that years ago because it wasn't getting things clean enough for me. Didn't quite measure up to Fairy non-bio or Method, which are the products I usually buy. It dealt with ordinary grubbiness fine but didn't touch a greasy food stain on my son's school sweatshirt in a 40-degree cottons wash.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Not quite as good as Fairy non-bio or Method, but OK. Probably on a par with Ecover.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important in principle, but in practice I tend to prioritise clean clothes, especially with respect to school uniform.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Probably not, to be honest. I wanted to like it but it didn't work as well as Method, so I'll stick with that.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Better action on greasy/oily stains.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not - didn't get things as clean as I'd like.

ShatnersBassoon · 03/05/2012 21:31

Q1. I'd never heard of them. I don't shop at Tesco, and haven't heard them mentioned in adverts.

Q2. The cleaning fluid seemed to clean the surfaces adequately, and I liked the lemony fragrance. The bottle was a bit leaky from the nozzle though, which was irritating.

Q3. It was fine as a cleaning product, and seemed to work as well as the spray I'd been using until I received the trial bottle.

Q4. I would rather buy a product that is less damaging to the environment, but I will usually buy whatever seems to be the best value.

Q5. I won't buy the spray again as I don't usually shop at Tesco, and it's not worth changing my shopping habits for.

Q6. A less leaky nozzle, and some more product information on the bottle. It wasn't clear how environmentally sound the product was, and it said very little about Tesco's aims with regards to environmental issues.

Q7. No, I wouldn't recommend the spray. It wasn't anything special.

bearcub1 · 03/05/2012 21:36

Q1 I had not heard of the naturally powered products before.
Q2 overally I like the product. Love the smell and got our clothes equally as clean as other brands. I was impressed with the cleaning power. I am a little disappointed that the powder does clog in the machine draw, and with every wash it needs to be washed down with extra water.
Q3 the powder washes as well as other branded products, I have been washing my usual washing at the usual temperature.
Q4 green credentials i used to look for, but now I am lead by price as my laundry loads have greatly increased since having a family. I would buy the product if the price is equal or less (ideally) than the offers that can be found on branded products across the supermarkets.
Q5 I would if the price is equal or less than branded products and if it comes in a larger box, as I don't want to buy washing powder every week.
Q6 I would see if the clogging of the powder in the draw could be resolved.
Q7 Yes, I would recommend to a friend.

I also like the packaging and the dispensing cup to ensure acurate dosing of the product.

crochetfish · 03/05/2012 21:39

I tried out the washing powder...

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

  • Used a Tesco own-brand eco-range washing tablet before it was discontinued, just before DS1 was born. Liked it, other products had irritated my skin and the Ecover range was seriously expensive! (Though have switched to it for now).

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

  • Seemed to work well, dealt with puree stains on DS1's clothing and some mud on DH's trousers. Smell is nice - though not as nice as the Ecover powder...

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

  • Worked as well, have tried it on several different cycles at different temperatures (washing is a more than daily activity around here!) and it performed well each time. I think it is about the same as what I usually use.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

  • The green credentials are important to me - I try to buy all of our cleaning products (sprays, washing up liquid etc) from a green range where possible. Though I do tend to stock up when they are on offer as they are more expensive.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

  • I probably will if I shop at Tesco though to get the best prices I am shopping around more and do not exclusively shop at Tesco. I would be tempted to stock up if it were to be on any kind of special offer. Am also tempted by the fabric conditioners in the range which might influence my decision!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

  • Could definitely stand out more - packaging a bit 'basic'. Wasn't clear what the scent of the product would be, and I don't think the scent was as nice as competing eco products. As others have mentioned the eco-credentials were not clearly stated on the box.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

  • I honestly don't think I've ever had a conversation about washing powder... but if it were to come up I would recommend that a friend tried it out.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Had not heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? It definitely worked and seemed pretty good at removing the usual stains. Smell fine, didn't really notice tbh.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? Possibly better, but I don't have a regular brand to compare with.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I'll be honest and say this is not really a factor in my purchasing decisions.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? If I needed to buy powder when in Tesco, I would if the price compared favourably with another product.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? None.I did appreciate the reduced packaging and the disposable paper cup.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? I don't usually discuss laundry in real life! Happy to recommend it to several thousand MNetters though Grin

I had the anti-bac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't specifically heard of them but frequently use eco products

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was pleased - the spray coverage was good, and the smell was lovely. But obv with the anti-bac spray you can't tell how effective it has been in terms of killing bacteria!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Better than the ecover cleaning spray, but other more harsh cleaning products do perform more strongly.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

They are important to me and I tend to buy green products where possible provided they are effective

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If shopping in tescos and needed products I would be happy to look to the range. Wouldn't make a special trip.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes

I tested the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
TBH I do not shop at Tesco (none locally) and had never seen this product before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the packaging very much, the plastic bag, top opening on the box and small measuring cup were all excellent. The actual powder however remained and still remains in my drawer after every use Hmm. We do have a hard-water area here and I was shocked that my washing was still clean despite not getting all of the powder on it!
I do like the smell of the product, not the best but not too powerful either.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The powder worked as good as my usual detergent.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do like that the powder has green credentials but it would not be a deciding factor for me to purchase it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Without knowing how much the powder costs this is difficult to answer. I would need to buy a larger box (cannot be buying Washing Powder every week) and if it was the same price as my normal purchase then yes of course I would get it again Smile.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Obviously to ensure that the product does not remain in the dispenser drawer is the most important. The box is very small so a choice of sizes would be needed too.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, would definitely suggest that they try it.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I thought they were a good idea, anything to help the enviroment.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The laundry powder smelt lovely, I found the cup handy but as the powder is still stuck to my washing machine drawer I am not very impressed.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Not as good due to it being stuck in the drawer, meaning I had to wash the clothes again with my usual powder.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important, but price does have to come first with my family atm, so would depend on that.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No because it did not work for me.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would make it dissolve.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, as it didn't dissolve.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

In fairness I thought it would be Tesco just jumping on another money-spinning bandwaggon.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The antibacterial spray I was sent worked as well as any other. However for a supposedly natural product it smelled distinctly chemical (slightly Dettol-like)
Contrast with my usual cleaning spray, Method, that uses lavender oil as an antibacterial, and well, there's no comparison really.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

About the same but didn't smell as nice.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important. I try to limit the amount of volatile synthetic chemicals I spread around the house.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

No. Doesn't seem as "natural" as I'd have liked it be.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make them less "chemical" smelling.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not really, no. I tend not to talk about cleaning products with friends when we could we be talking about interesting things.
