The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is

Friendship Express Train Set. My dd is 4.

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?

Good play value. New ways of playing being invented all the time. Asking for the track to be set out in different ways, enjoying putting the stickers on it, putting obstacles in the way to be knocked over as the train came round, figuring out how to start it and stop it lots !

What did your child think about it? What was good?

She loves it! She is slowly working out the benefit of the horse itself as opposed to the train and playing wiht the hair etc. She is enjoying putting things in amd out of the carriage.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

yes but not overly familiar.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No we dont have this channel btu she would like to if it was available to her.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

Yes. I think any 3 or 4 yr old would have fun with it- the automated nature of going round and round the track is fab.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Definitely

Any other comments

Why does it have to be so hard to be able to put the batteries in! It took several attempts with differing screwdrivers. Seems bizarre and delayed the ability to post on this thread!

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is
'Pinky Pie' Fashion pony set
dd is 4

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
She was initially quite excited, and fortunately the packaging was relatively easy to get into so she didn't have to wait to long to play with it. Glad that it wasn't bound with wire ties etc. She played with it a lot for a couple of days, and it prompted her to get her other ponies out to join in. Her interest then waned and she has picked it up to play with about another couple of times since then.

What did your child think about it? What was good?
She liked the accessories that came with the pony, and they were fairly robust so haven't been broken so far. She liked to use the accessories on the ponies that she already owned, so good that everything was interchangeable. She (and we) were not so impressed with the manufacturing fault on one of the pony's hooves, there was an extra 'nipple' of plastic which would have appeared in the moulding process. Due to this the shoe would not fit. we cut the extra bit of plastic off so that the shoe could go on, but this has now left a hole behind.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
She does as they are very girly and she is into brushing hair/makeup etc at present.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No, was not aware that it was on, as tend to watch CBBC or Nick Junior

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
I would, as it was a pretty robust toy and nice for girls. The accessories are interchangeable an compliment other items in the range.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
I would if there was a special offer on the price, but ordinarily this would cost more than I would spend on a gift for another child's birthday.

Any other comments
Very good packaging.
Not really a unisex toy, very girly.

The name of the toy you were sent.
Friendship express train.

and how old your child is
dd 3.5 ds 4.9

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
both ds and dd really enjoy it, the play value could be improved by another trailer as both of them wanted to have passengers. they enjoyed changing the track layout and making bridges with books.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

dd fell in love with it imeadiatly, she loves vehicles but being a typical 3yo girl thinks they are all for boys, this caused great delight that its a 'girls train' she adores it. Ds thought it was great as he can set it all up himself.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

DD does yes. ds occasionally shows interest.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No but now i know its on ive sky+ it.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

Yes i would as they both really do play with it every day despite me thinking there isnt much to it.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
yes

Any other comments

i feel for what you get the rrp is rather high, the train simply moves, and there is only one pony and trailer. both dcs would have enjoyed some noise/sound effects and someone to travel in the trailer alot. Then the rrp would be justified.

Princess Celestia. My DD is 6

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it

I think it is good quality and not bad value for money. DD loved styling Celestia's hair and was fascinated with the light up wings. She has spent a lot of time sat in a dark room so she can appreciate the wings in their full glory!!

What did your child think about it? What was good?

Loved it. The light up wings and hair accessories went down very well.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

Yes, although this is the first toy she has owned.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

Yes, occasionally

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

Yes I would. It is good quaity and think it would definitely appeal to all little girls.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?

Yes.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is
Friendship express train set
DD is 3, DS is 5

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
very excited at first. DD watched it go around for nearly a full hour.
after that she mainly played wtih the my little pony, putting it in things and stroking its hair.
DS continued to remodel the train line into all the different combinations and even built a train line that would go off the end of the ironing board so the train would fall off at a certain point (nb iron not present!)
i think more carriages would have led to more interesting play, and perhaps a couple more pieces in the track itself, not so that it was huge, but just a little bigger.
it was reasonable quality but there weren't that many play options i think due to the limited track size.

What did your child think about it? What was good?
DD liked that it was pink and purple.
she liked the my little pony, even though she hadn't heard of them before.
DS liked that the train track could be arranged in different ways.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
they'd never seen it before.
DS showed no interest in the pony but DD liked it.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
no, we only have freeview so don't think we have boomerang?

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
it was ok but i don't think i'd recommend it specifically tbh.
DD preferred the pony to the train so might consider recommending a more traditional my little pony product.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
maybe if it was within budget, some of the stuff is quite pricey (tight emocion!)
would consider some other my little pony stuff for DD in future, wouldn't have thought of it before.

Any other comments
a few passengers for the train and perhaps another carriage and a couple of bits more track would make it a bit more of a set? and justify the relatively high price tag.
very girly in design, def not unisex toy, as others have said.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is

Princess Celestia - played with by my 5 yo DD

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?

She played with it constantly for the first 2 days, it even had to go to school for 'chatterbox'. She added it to her existing (unbranded) ponies that she has and to her Breyer horses and stables. It was very much the 'queen bee' pony though because of the lights and wings. Since the initial excitement it has been picked up every couple of days and played with and she had a long game today with all her animals and it was included again although it didn't have a 'main part' in the game as far as I could tell.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

She loved the lights and wings and the phrases but she wanted to be able to move the wings without it talking. She discarded the hair clips straight away but has used the brush to comb it's hair. I found the phrases a bit sickly sweet and why so American?!
Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

She loves horses in general this is her first experience of My Little Pony. She does seem to prefer her Breyer horses and farm yard as they are more like 'real' animals.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No but we do have boomerang so I will record one for her to try.
Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

Yes it's well made, well packaged and reasonably priced. It's not everyone's cup of tea though. A bit too overtly girly.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?

Yes for the right child. A girly girl probably. I wouldn't ever buy it for a boy unless I knew the parents very well and knew he was in to that kind of thing.

Any other comments?

I was quite dissapointed with how far removed it was from the MLP of my childhood. It seems to have lost it's innocence and charm, MLP used to stand for friendship and good deeds this seems to scream 'slutty pony' with long thin legs, made up eyes and lots of hair. It seems to be channelling a bratz doll in pony form. I'm 30 so MLP was a big part of my childhood toys and would be much more likely to buy for DD if they still had things like ballet schools. Of course DD had none of these thoughts these are mine but the parents do ultimately control what is bought in most instances.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is:
Friendship Express Train Set.
DD is 3.5

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
My DD liked it, but got bored quite quickly of the track. She now plays with the train, but not on the track! She also found it quite fiddly to get it on the track correctly, and everytime she switched it on, it would come off the track again, as she pressed the funnel thing! Maybe that's why she's only playing with it off the track now?!?!

What did your child think about it? What was good?
She loves the actual main train part, but isn't to fussed with the attached cart, or the track. I think she was also expecting a train noise somewhere!

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
Yes.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Probably not. Interest was lost very quickly, and the price is a little high for that reason.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Unsure.

Any other comments
Re the packaging - It was VERY misleading - I was expecting more carriages, and even double checked inside the packaging that i hadn't missed something - then I read the side of the box, which explained that you didn't get everything on the front - my DD was a little upset!!!

On a plus side, the bits were easy to get out and put together.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is We received the Express Friendship trainset. I have a 5yo DD and a 3yo DS

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it? They both really liked it - DD loves anything pink and girly, DS loves trains so win win. They have been fighting over it, so that is a good sign that they like it Hmm DS chugged the train bit around even without the track, DD has played with it as a set and with the pony on it's own

What did your child think about it? What was good? DD thought it was funny that I used to have these toys when I was little. The train was easy to work - they realised about the on/off function on the chimney before I did.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally? Not played with or seen it before this

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm? No we don't get Boomerang anymore (yay! no Sky bill)

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why? Yes, probably for this age group of 3-5 it is good, easy to put the track together but the ponies are a bit strange and skinny these days and the quality is not fantastic IMHO. I wouldn't pay £23 for it, more like £15ish. But the children really liked it

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift? Yes I would consider it

Any other comments I was a bit Hmm that a 'Friendship Train' only came with one pony - Billy-no-mates? Liked the packaging - didn't come with 99 impossible wire ties, thumbs up there. As a marketing ploy it has worked a treat Grin , DD keeps shouting when adverts for MLP come on the TV now and she is pointing out all the ponies she would now like from the leaflet.

Friendship Express Train Set.
Dd is 3.

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
She was initially very excited about it (although wanted to know where all the other bits were, as there are lots more parts shown on the box than you get) but plays with her wooden railway more.

What did your child think about it? What was good?
She likes it, she likes to build the little track and is also excited that the train will run on the carpet.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
She does, but hasn't been exposed to huge amounts of it yet.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Yes, I'd recommend the train set, but it is quite expensive considering you would have to buy the other pieces separately to build the whole train.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Only for a child who was already into My Little Pony.

Any other comments
It would be good for the kids at least if not for adults if the train made a noise, either a chuffing noise as it went round, or an occasional toot...
Also think the modern ponies look like they've had bad cosmetic surgery.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is:
Fashion Pony, Rainbow Dash
DD1 4yrs (almost 5) DD2 2yrs

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?:
I think £12.99 is a fair price, but the dress is something and nothing, DD wasn't keen on it and I don't recall the ponies wearing one in the DVD we have. I think we'd rather have it minus the dress with maybe an extra bracelet or sunglasses, but that's personal.

I'd probably rather spend a bit extra and get Princess Celestia Envy that other reviewers have!

It's cute but doesn't quite have that wow factor, not sure how much longer it will be the 'special' toy for.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

DD1 was absolutely delighted, she loves Rainbow Dash (though pinky pie is her favourite) and loved messing around with the bits it came with, played with it all afternoon. But not the dress so much.
She has been using it in role play games with random other things, (dinosaurs)
and overall is very fond of it. A week on she still won't let her sister touch it (still has 'special' status!).

The fashion bits get used every now and then but I feel will eventually become redundant, mainly as the shoes keep coming off. I noticed on the internet there is a rainbow dash with a scooter. I know we'd get a lot more play value out of that , and it seems cheaper (but it was a US website).

The combination of a few fashion bits and a scooter would in my opinion be much more successful, at least in this household. (cut down on the hair clips, for eg.)

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

Yes, she has a DVD and knows all the characters, loves all their different traits.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

We don't get Boomerang, but if we did she would.

However if it was the annoying American version where she ends up copying all the OTT American voices I don't think I'd let her! (being honest here) That's what put me off buying another DVD.

But I may be wrong, thinking about it we bought it abroad.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Yes, they are pretty good quality overall, (although I must say we have some older my little ponies from car boot sales and their hair doesn't get so frizzy. Sorry, hypercrictical)

Think it could be much more popular and don't know why it isn't??

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Yes.

Any other comments?
I probably would have A) spent a few pounds more for an extra accessory
or B) a bit less for a few less hair clips (under £10 suddenly becomes quite attractive), or maybe same hair clips and no dress.

Oh, and thanks! Overall DD loves it and really I'm just splitting hairs.

The name of the toy and age of child
Friendship Express Train and DD - 3 and DD - 1.

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it
For a first train set and first my little pony, I felt it was good value for money. My daughters have used it as a train set, but have also played independently with the train and pinky pony, as well as combining them imaginatively with other toys.

What did your child think of it? What was good?
Both children loved it. My three year old has spent lots of time taking pinky pony and other small animals from her Happyland collection on trips to the shops/post office etc using the trainset and carriage. My one year old has had fun getting the train to move and taking pinky pony to visit relatives. Neither has shown any interest in playing or brushing pinky pony's hair.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No, I was not aware this channel or programme existed.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Yes I would. It is good quality, and for a child with a good imagination, a lot of fun.

Any other comments
I had expected the pony to be bigger, but when combined with the train set it is the perfect size. I am considering buying my eldest another pony so she has something to open on her sister's birthday next month. My youngest is almost two and it is a toy I can see her growing with over the next few years and getting a lot of fun out of.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to try this toy, my DD was really excited to receive it.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is
Princess Celestia, DD aged 3, DS aged 5

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
My DD was very impressed with it from the moment she opened the package. It looks good and she was delighted when she realised its wings light up and move and of course the sounds. She has played with it a lot and having had it a few days she is still playing with it at least once a day. My DS picked it up hoping to play with it but then put it back down saying it was too girly.

What did your child think about it? What was good?
DD played with it a lot for the first few days, she particularly liked brushing its hair and taking the crown and collar on and off. So far (fingers crossed) it still has all the little clips in its hair.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
She has got one other pony, the remote controlled pony with a vehicle.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No I was not aware of this although we do receive Boomerang so I will look for it and let her watch it.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Yes I would, my DD has a lot of fun with it and I can imagine a lot of girls would too.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?

We were sent the Express train set. My dds are 5 and 3.

Your overall opinion on the play value of the toy- how did your child play with it?
Both dds were very impressed with it when they first saw it, they played with it a lot for the first few days. Dd1 said that it was one of her favourite toys along with her marble run. They took it out in the front garden and showed it to a little girl who lives across from us, she seemed to like it too. It was easy to set up and they liked the idea of taking the pony for rides in the train and stopping for a picnic. It would have been nice to have another pony with it,and some more carriages but other small figures can be used with it as well. Dd2 noticed that there was a hook on the back of the train to attach more carriages.

what did our child think about it?What was good?
They both loved playing with it, they like anything with trains and ponies so I thought this toy would appeal to them and it did. They liked watching the train move around the track, and so did the cat, who was fascinated!

Does your child like My Little Pony generally
Yes, they both like anything with ponies really.

Does your child watch the TV series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic on Boomerang?
No, as they don't tend to watch this channel so we didn't know it was on. But it sounds like something they would enjoy.

do you think you'd recommend this toy/ the My Little Pony brand to another parent/child?
Yes, I would, as both my dds enjoyed playing with the toy and I think My Little Pony tends to be popular with a lot of young children, especially girls.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Yes, if buying for a young girl, quite possibly as most seem to like it. I would be unlikely to buy it for a boy unless I knew that he was into ponies.

Any other comments?
Overall we thought this toy was great although an extra pony and carriage would have been great. I think it is a toy they will go back to again and again. I was surprised at how small the ponies are compared to the ones we used to play with in the '80s. I think I still have one somewhere, it was a blue/green colour with rainbow hair called Moonstone I think. Maybe they could bring out a retro range with some of the original ponies.
Thank you.

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is.

DD is just 3 and we got the freindship train set

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?

I would like to start by saying dd really enjoyed the toy. She likes small world play in general. She also likes animals so it was right up her street. £23 is a mid to reasonable price for a toy of this type.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

DD liked moving the toys around. the size of the toy was good, easy to manipulate and difficult to lose!

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

she has some horse toys and likes those but no MLP so no.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

It would very much depend on the child, and the parent.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?

under some circumstances yes but it would not be the first thing that came to mind

Any other comments

The product would be categorised under the title of pink plastic tat. I have a small home and toys of this nature would normally be overlooked for something a but more generec and long lasting. I would also prefer a little less girlie

Personally I can deal with cheap plasticy stuff or pink stuff but them both together is a bit overpowering. The design of the train was very feminine and could have easily handled a little less pinkness.

I have to say the fact that the toy is electronic is neither here nor there and can easily be played with without the batteries (as it was in our house for several days before I got batteries for it). The track is also a little redundant and either needs the ability to expand and accessorise or getting rid of as it will probably end up binned here.

My MAJOR dissapointment was the horse itself. They no longer look like horses! the taller, thinner, stretched out horses worry me! and would certainly put me off.

We received one of the vehicles, DD is 5 years 2 months.
Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
We have had the toy for almost three weeks now and it has become one of DD's mainstays in her currently active toy box. I personally thought the vehicle was well constructed and the stickers added an attractive decorative element. DD has used it as a train and a caravan for the pony and small figures from other playsets.
What did your child think about it? What was good?
My DD was excited to receive a surprise in the post, upon opening the packaging she was delighted with the small pet (as she is very keen on pets). We were all impressed with the luggage hook and the tiny train tickets.
Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
Yes, she has a collection of several ponies and accessories (hats, jackets, tennis raquets...)
Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No.
Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
I would recommend it if the train engine was already owned, as the vehicle is clearly an auxilliary to the main set. Having said that, it has provided my DD with more opportunities for creative play than I would have initially assumed.
Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Yes.
Any other comments
As a personal opinion I found the new design of My Little Pony far less aesthetically appealling than the classic design - the modern pony looks almost feline in shape, much more slender than the original.

Name of the toy/age of child?
Fashion Pony - Rainbow Dash. My DD is 6.

Overall opinion of the play value?
My DD loved this toy, and was so excited to receive it. She played with it for a good solid hour when it arrived and it was the first toy she played with the following morning. She enjoyed the multicoloured hair, combing it and fastening it with the barettes. She loved the shoes, but they kept coming off.

What did your child think about it?
She was so excited when it arrived, and delighted not to have to give it back! She is familiar with Rainbow Dash so was especially pleased to have her.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
She only had one My Little Pony (which was a gift) and she very much enjoys playing with it.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No, she's never seen this programme.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Yes, I would because my DD is enjoying it so much. Also it's a recognisable name and the quality of the product is very good.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Yes

Any other comments
I think the price is reasonable and the quality of the product is very good. The shoes are a bit dodgy, they kept coming off.

We were sent the friendship express set. DS1 is 3

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
He played with it for about half an hour but the track isn't up to much really, IMO, as he likes to construct different track designs!

What did your child think about it? What was good?
He loved it at first but then got bored! He liked the train though and has put various other toys in it.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
He'd never hear of it!

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
No

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Probably not, its a bit pink and plasticky!

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Possibly, depending who I was buying for!

Any other comments
Why are they so small and weedy now? I was terribly disappointed in the actual pony!

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is
Friendship Express train - DD is 4

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?
Absolutely loved it! She was so excited to see the train when it came out of the box. Train only took couple of minutes to set up and she was off! Got function of stop/start button in funnel straight away and started to set up the track by herself. She has played with it consistently for the last 2 weeks and makes up little adventures for her ponies.

What did your child think about it? What was good?
She really likes playing with the train on and off the tracks. We have added some of the other carriages to the train and she is using her imagination well to make up little adventures. The train itself is strong and sturdy and the batteries have lasted well. Only now after 2 weeks of play are the batteries starting to slow down.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?
Yes, she loves it!

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?
Yes she does.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?
Highly recommended. DD loves the MLP range generally. The ponies are bright and colourful. The accessories help stimulate imagination and my DD makes up her own stories about the ponies. Many of the individual ponies are at pocket money prices, especially the surprise foil bag miniature range.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Definately! DD has already given some to her friends as birthday gifts.
Many thanks for letting us try out this great product!

Fashion Pony - Rainbow Dash, my daughter is 3.

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of play value my daughter has got out of it. I was initially disappointed as she wanted to put the shoes on and prance the pony around but the shoes do keep falling off, we have given up with these. My (just) 3 year old found the clips difficult to begin with and kept wanting me to do them but has now got used to them although she prefers to ask me. She also can't do the ring. The "comb" is also pretty useless but I have found a small brush instead which works.

However she happily uses the pony in imaginary play, wanted to take it to pre-school, sits it in the car with her, and treats it like a little friend. It is her favourite toy still, several weeks on.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

My daughter loved it. She liked the bright packaging and the rainbow coloured hair. She loves that their is a rainbow hiding on the pony's bottom (!). She would have liked putting the shoes on and off but was disappointed to find that a bit pointless.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

She hasn't come across them before.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No - we only watch cbeebies as I don't like adverts, but I'm sure she would like it.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

My daughter loves it so for that reason I think I would but I would warn that the accessories are sadly a bit pointless (which are the reason for a dressing up pony I'd have thought).

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?
Yes but probably not this particular one due to problems with the accessories.

Thankyou for the opportunity to take part - my daughter loves her pony!

The name of the toy you were sent and how old your child is?

We got one of the vehicle pieces. DD is 5.

Your overall opinion of the play value of the toy - how did your child play with it?

She played with it for the first day and it hasn't been out since. She has a lot of the old style My Little Ponies which she plays with all the time.

What did your child think about it? What was good?

She didn't really like it.

Does your child like My Little Pony generally?

As I said, she prefers the older style My Little Pony which she prefers.

Does your child watch the TV series "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" on Boomerang weekdays at 3pm and Boomerang+1 at 4pm?

No.

Do you think you'd recommend this toy/the My Little Pony Brand to another parent/child? Why?

I don't think so as I don't think the new version MLP are very nice. I think they look emaciated and bizarre. They are supposed to be ponies and ponies are chubby.

Would you consider buying a My Little Pony product as a gift?

Nope. For the reasons above.

the name of the toy you were sent & how old your child is
We were sent Princess Celestia and I have 2 dd's aged 3 and 5
Overall opinion of the play value - how did child play with it
Princess Celestia has become my 3 year old's most precious and loved toy - from the moment it was delivered my dd has barely let her out of her sight - she goes everywhere with the toy! Both dd's loved the talking aspect and the flapping wings but mostly my 3 year old just carried her around and played 'ponies' with her other toys, making families with PC as the mum and smaller ponies as the children.
what did your child think about it - what was good
As above really, she absolutely loves it - all good here Grin
Does your child like My Little Pony generally
Yes, both dd's love My Little Pony stuff and would like more and more ...
does your child watch the TV series
No we do not get this channel unfortunately
do you think you would recommend and why
Yes, definitely - so many little girls have come up to dd to talk about, look at and wishingly (not sure that's a word) play with Princess celestia - I think she has been the most talked about thing at Preschool and school since she was delivered! Plus generally the My Little Ponies are favourite toys in our house and provide hours of play so I would definitely recommend.
would you consider buying My Little Pony goods as a gift
Yes definitely if I knew the child like ponies.
Thank you so much for our Princess Celestia, she is very much loved and has made 2 (especially the youngest) little girls very happy.
