Quaker would like you to try their Oat So Simple Kids Chocolate flavour porridge with your child(ren). Here's what they say about the product: "Quaker Oat So Simple Kids comes in delicious, child-friendly varieties including Chocolate, which has 50% less sugar than the average Chocolate flavoured cereal (click here for nutritional information). Quaker Oat So Simple Kids range provides a tasty source of wholegrain and is quick and easy to prepare - from sachet to bowl in just two minutes."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child who would like to give Quaker's Kids Chocolate porridge a try.

If you're selected to take part, you'll be sent one box containing 10 sachets of the Chocolate flavour porridge to try with your child(ren) and you'll be asked to add your comments to a feedback thread on Mumsnet. Everyone who takes part and adds their feedback will be in with the chance to win £250 worth of Amazon vouchers.

To take part, please add your details here.

Thanks

Done - fingers crossed to find another breakfast cereal DD will eat.

PestoFrostissimo · 02/02/2012 10:15

We would love to try this too Smile

poppy1973 · 02/02/2012 10:21

Added my name to this as my children eat porridge every morning in the winter, but have never tried So simple porridge or flavoured porridge.

BerryLellow · 02/02/2012 10:55

Could have done with some of this this morning, the DSs refused a hot breakfast and farking froze on the walk to school (despite wearing two coats)

PurpleKittyKnitting · 02/02/2012 11:12

I used to have chocolate Ready Brek as a kid, my dad hated making it up!!

Would like to try this!

iseenodust · 02/02/2012 11:24

Done. I think DS will think I'm best mum Grin
Wonders if it will make a cheats choccy flapjack?

BornToFolk · 02/02/2012 11:43

Oooh, sounds good! DS has porridge (with dried fruit usually) most mornings but I'm fairly sure that the odd bowl of chocolate flavoured porridge will not doom him to a life of obesity.

gemma4d · 02/02/2012 11:59

ooooh chocolate porridge. Never mind the kids, think I'll have one!

FourThousandHoles · 02/02/2012 12:00

I'll sign up but we're unlikely to try it for breakfast.
We do have porridge for breakfast and I put syrup/raisins/whatever in it and I suppose a bit of cocoa and sugar isnt much different - but chocolate at breakfast??? Hypocritical oh just remembered dd1 has nutella on toast occasionally

Would be nice as a post-swimming/playing out in the cold snack though, or just before bed.

wahwahwah · 02/02/2012 12:27

Done. Mummy may need to test it first though.

Popoozle · 02/02/2012 14:15

Done. It's always a battle to get a decent breakfast into the DCs before school - am hoping the chocolate bit might help! Fingers crossed!

brandysoakedbitch · 02/02/2012 14:16

Hilarious that you market it as being wholegrain... and you wonder why we have an obesity epidemic. Having less sugar than other chocolate breakfasts does not make it good for you or your children. I am genuinely concerned that this is marketed as some kind of healthy alternative.

Tee2072 · 02/02/2012 14:19

It is entirely possible to be wholegrain and chocolate. The chocolate has nothing to do with what the porridge is made out of!

This is the real reason there is an obesity epidemic. Because people make food 'forbidden' and our children gorge themselves on it once out of sight!

SoupDragon · 02/02/2012 14:19

It has less sugar than Waitrose brand Shreddies.

wahwahwah · 02/02/2012 14:20

I wouldn't exactly call it healthy.... But I am curious...

MoaningMinnieWhingesAgain · 02/02/2012 14:31

Done, breakfast is a bit hit and miss these days.

frankies69 · 02/02/2012 15:40

I tried these a while ago on both my DC, one aged 11 and one age 3. Neither of them liked them I am sorry to say. The colour is awful and they both spat it out!! I however was left to eat the whole bowl and must say although not my favourite porridge I wouldn't not eat it. Grin

Tiredtrout · 02/02/2012 15:50

Done, kids love porridge

pluckingupcourage · 02/02/2012 15:56

done, the DCs would be very excited (must arrange to have more interesting life)

Hulababy · 02/02/2012 17:13

Done

MustControlFistOfDeath · 02/02/2012 20:39

Is it just me or is the link not working...? Confused Sad

Reggiee · 02/02/2012 20:41

MustControl not working for me. Really fancied some chocolate porridge for me to test

choceyes · 02/02/2012 20:43

Chocolate porridge, or rather cocoa porridge already exists in my local organic co-op. No sugar added either. Just cocoa powder and also raisins for some sweetness. It is really really yummy!!

MustControlFistOfDeath · 02/02/2012 21:08

Hurrah the link is working now. Mmmm. Chocolate porridge. Smile
