I don't know if I like the idea of chocolate for breakfast but I bet my kids will. :)

They could always have it for supper.

AtYourCervix · 01/02/2012 22:30

when you have a child/teenager who is twiggy to start with, refuses to eat breakfast and takes carrot sticks and an apple for lunch, the thought of them eating anythig for breakfast, whether chocolate flavour, cake or pure lard, is appealing.

storminabuttercup · 01/02/2012 22:36

Just seen that its for over 5s, I would've let ds try it but he's too young! I used to love chocolate ready brek, never did me any harm!

storminabuttercup · 01/02/2012 22:37

AtYourCervix - i was like that as a teen, I used to eat cornflakes with the syrup from
Tinned peaces poured over them, as I wouldn't touch milk!

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/02/2012 22:42

If you're going to eat some form of sweetened breakfast I fail to see why it would matter if it was chocolate vs sugar vs jam tbh. I quite like the 'continental' hot chocolate and a croissant, breakfast. Chocolate porridge isn't much of a stretch from that surely? Smile

I have got to pass this on to someone at work, whose 2yo grandson is currently refusing to eat anything but porridge!

Sorry MNHQ, you're stooping pretty low with the marketing tie-ins now. Chocolate porridge for children FFS, whatever next Angry. You are actually colluding in incentivising parents to feed their children chocolate for breakfast. Have you heard of healthy eating? Childhood obesity?

MrsShrekTheThird · 02/02/2012 00:05

depends if it's got cows milk in the basic ingredients. Apart from it potentially looking like a bowl of poo Hmm

Tee2072 · 02/02/2012 07:56

Really? People are disturbed by this? Have you never put something sweet in your porridge?

A bit of chocolate in the morning isn't going to hurt anyone. It's not like they are telling you to feed it to your children at every meal!

However, I did not realize it was for over 5s. I guess that lets me out!

AtYourCervix · 02/02/2012 08:18

French people eat chocolate for breakfast and all their children behave themselves and all French women are thin and glam and dress well. So there.

sweeping generalisation

AtYourCervix · 02/02/2012 08:19

is incentivising even a real word?

inmysparetime · 02/02/2012 08:22

It's a real word in the US and in business but it jars with me too.

Tee2072 · 02/02/2012 08:22

You forgot that they all have long shiny hair and perfect skin. Must be all the chocolate.

SoupDragon · 02/02/2012 08:29

"Chocolate (worse! chocolate flavour ) for breakfast? Are you barking? And then we have all these talking heads on Radio 4 wondering why there is an obesity epidemic. "

To be honest, you are barking if you think the occasional bowl of chocolate porridge is to blame for any obesity epidemic.

MissBerta · 02/02/2012 08:38

Some of you are being very worthy.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/02/2012 08:43

Done. I have very happy memories of chocolate ready brek when I was a child. Yum yum yum :)

HavePatience · 02/02/2012 09:02

Done.
But I don't think I should be entered for the vouchers because I just won £50 JL vouchers a few weeks ago on MN. I just want to try the porridge... Erm I mean, ds wants to try it Wink

fuzzpig · 02/02/2012 09:29
