Ds is 8 weeks, I used size 2.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
I was really impressed with the nappies, they're nice and soft and a good fit.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they
do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
These are good quality nappies, didn't leak or leave a smell like some nappies I've used.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
It was nice and easy to get into the packet, the nappies came out nicely without a struggle. Just the right info on the packet

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to
use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
I wasn't very impressed with the wipes, I had to use more as they're very dry.
I found no difference at all apart from the smell.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
I wouldn't change anything about the nappies but the wipes need a lot of improvement, they need to be wetter, I found it hard to open the wipes, the lid was very stiff.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below -
do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Yes they are very good value for money, I was pleasantly surprised.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I will definitely use the nappies again, they're great value for money and a good nappy.
I wouldn't use the wipes again, I like really wet wipes, they were to dry for me,

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I would most definitely recommend the nappies, excellent value, I was very impressed.
I wouldn't recommend the wipes, I really didn't like them.

We tried the Size 5 Junior nappies on my 3 year old. He is disabled and not toilet trained.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Really pleased with the nappies generally. They fitted fine - maybe ever so slightly tight but fine otherwise. I particularly liked the front and back pictures. The lion was seethrough on the back so when laying the nappy down I could see that I had it the correct way around straight away. This is always so useful to tell the front and back quickly (or in the dark!)

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

Yes they compared very favourably with other nappies including leading brand. My son is disabled and suffers from very wet poos and the nappies were great at containing everything. No leaks thus far.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packaging is adequate. I just ripped it open at one end. I always do regardless of whether there are perforations or not. I didn't check the information on the packaging. I only checked the size and the weight which was all I needed to know.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I found the wipes packets difficult to open on first use. I appreciate the additional plastic resealable cover but I find it hard to open and close each time especially with one hand. I do think it stops the wipes drying out quicker though. Usually the resealing tab loses it stick and falls off before the packet is finished so the top is definitely a plus if was easier to open. I didnt really notice any difference between the two types. My son had no reactions. The wipes themselves are a bit too thick for my liking, and slightly too small. Also they are not 'moist' enough. I would prefer a wetter wipe. I think I used more because of this. I found myself having to scrub more which is not nice for my son's bottom.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Yes as above. I would improve the wipes. The packaging needs to be easier to open and close. The wipes should be slightly larger, thinner and wetter. The nappies themselves are great, work well as they currently are.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

The nappies are good value for money. I would buy them again. However they don't seem particularly competitive with other brands on the market especially if the bigger brands are on special offer then it would make Aldi nappies more expensive. They need to be cheaper without compromising quality. The wipes are not good value for funny. They are only fractionally cheaper than leading contenders and not as good.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use the nappies again as per question 6. I would not use the wipes again though.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes I would recommend the nappies - they are just as good as leading brands. I would not recommend the wipes though.

RottenRow · 22/11/2011 20:46

I am using midi nappies on 19 week old.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
They seem a little bigger than Pampers (surface area, come up quite high on the tummy) but I was impressed by their thinness. Perhaps a little more papery feeling than some but soft enough. They are a little baggy round my dd's legs but if I double over the straps they seem ok.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
They had been good so far, no leaks overnight and kept her dry so I was impressed. Three hours ago I would have given a glowing report however she pooed in one straight after a change and it leaked all over her clothes.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Easy to open which is good as I struggle to get into pampers. I normally only look at the size of nappies but I double checked and was reassured by the fact they said they were hypoallergenic and recommended for dryness at night.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Really do not like the sickly sweet scent of the normal wipes. The sensitive is much better with a neutral smell. My daughter has quite sensitive skin in fact up until now I have only used cotton wool and water when I change her so thus far I have only used the sensitive wipes on her bum. Have used them for a few days now and she was looking a tiny bit sore this evening so if it gets worse I shall go back to water. I am using normal wipes on my toddlers face and hands and they are doing to job just fine, using same amount of wipes. Good thickness and do not rip as easily as the huggies wipes I normally use.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
I much prefer the click shut packaging on the wipes but for some reason it doesn't work on the normal wipes and they pop open which is annoying. I'd also like the scent toned down.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
I think they are both very good value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do not have an aldi within striking distance though I might consider a trip to stock on things such as nappies. If the poo leak proves to be a one off I would use them again as they were very good overnight. If not I will not as it just adds to the washing and generally makes life more difficult. I might get the sensitive wipes as they are good value and I like the click shut container.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
Would not recommend the normal wipes because of the fragrance but would recommend the sensitive ones. I would probably recommend the nappies to chubbier babies who are perhaps thicker in the leg. I think at that price it is worth anyone trying them and seeing how they get on.

CBear6 · 22/11/2011 22:12

DD is 10 weeks, 10lb 2oz, and we tested the size two nappies

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
I liked the feel of them, nice and soft unlike some own brands that can be plasticky or stiff. The tabs are nice and stretchy and sticky really well to the band. DD is a little skinny minnie, her torso is really long and thin as are the tops of her legs and they fit really well. She had lost weight due to being in hospital but has been packing it on since we came home and the nappies still fit.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
They do the job they're intended for in terms of catching wee and poo but I'm not convinced they do it better than our usual brand (Just4Bums). As good as? Maybe. Better than? No, sorry. They're good but they're not brilliant as they seem to fill up quite quickly and if DD has done a wee before she does a poo then they tend to leak. Poo in a fresh nappy is fine and holds well with no leakage, it's just when the nappy has been wee'd in that it leaks, the leaks are around the legs and either side of the waistband if that makes any difference?

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
I have a 10 week old and a two year old, I didn't pay too much attention to how the packaging opened because I just tore a hole in the side of it. It was easy to tear one-handed which is good. The carry handle was fairly sturdy. I would have liked the packaging to be recyclable.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
The wipes are amazing! I'm not so keen on the scented ones in the dark green packet as they smell quite strong to me but if you disregard that they're perfect. I've been using the sensitive ones more on my 10 week old and the other ones on my two year old and I can't fault them. One comes out at a time rather than a big long ribbon, that's great for changing time when you've a hand on the baby and trying to pull wipes from the packet with the other. I hate other brands where you're stood holding one end of the ribbon with the packet of wipes dangling at the other end while you try to one-handedly detach a single wipe.

The only thing I don't like (aside from the strong scent) is the hard plastic lid as I found it quite difficult to open. I was pulling at it in frustration for a good few minutes and ended up handing it to DH. Is there a knack to it?! I've gotten better at opening it with practice but it's quite annoying. Am
I exceptionally crap or has anyone else had problems with this?

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The plastic lid! Please made it easier to open!

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
8p a nappy is exceptionally good value and is the same as my current brand. For how good they are they're well worth that price. The wipes are excellent value, 79p a packet is brilliant for the level of quality.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I wouldn't use the nappies again as my regular brand because I'm happy with my current brand but if I needed to nip out for some emergency nappies, if I ran out or whatever, I'd buy these. I'll definitely be switching to Aldi wipes though, I love them (even if I hate the plastic lid) and they're far cheaper than lower quality big-name brands

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
*I would recommend them, yes, as they're a good product and good value but I'd also point out that they filled up fast and that we had some leaks, I'd likely recommend my current brand as an alternative too. I would highly recommend the wipes. Usually when friends/family have babies I give gift bags of baby products and bits&bobs, not only am I'm going to start using Aldi wipes I'm going to include them in future gift bags.

howiwonder · 22/11/2011 22:14

we used the ultra dry nappies, maxi size 4/4+ for my DS who is 21 months.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

felt great, papery rather than plasticky. no chemical smell. good fit too.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

i use reusables mostly, so obviously different but they didnt have that chemical smell that i associate with disposables. no leaks at all, which is great.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

didnt give it alot of thought, was fine - didnt stand out, probably a bit tacky, but thats the case for most nappy packaging!

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

have to say, i really didnt like either wipe. the sensitive were very dry and didnt really get the job done and i hated the smell of the normal ones, sort of liquorice like, yuk!!
liked the snap top closure on the wipes though.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

the nappies were great so no suggestions there. the wipes - less strong smell, thicker and more moist would be an improvement.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

the nappies are great value for money and the wipes are a great price too.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes will def buy the nappies again, not the wipes. i prefer wipes to have a bit more of a natural feel/smell - and it would help if they were biodegradable.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

personally i wouldnt recommend the wipes as i just didnt like them. would recommend the nappies though.

Many thanks for including us on the trial!!! :)

Mamia Comfy Up Pants/13 months

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Aldi nappies fit my baby quite well, they felt soft and not too bulky.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

There were occasional leaks (especially at night) and i can say that our usual brand of nappies does a much better job.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

It was easy to open, i liked the design of package and there was sufficient information.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I absolutely disliked the wipes. They're not moist enought, so nappy changes for BM were a real struggle with me having to use up to 6-7 wipes instead of usual 2-3. Sensitive skin wipes had a pleasant scent. I was using much more wipes than usually and nappy changes took longer as well.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

It's not easy to open the box of wipes,in fact it's a real struggle. Wipes should also be much more moist than they currently are.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Nappies and wipes are quite good value for money, but i would strongly prefer to pay extra to save me time which changing and prevent leaks.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I might use the nappies during the daytime, but not using wipes again for sure.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I might recommend nappies for daytime as they're quite good quality and value for money, but would not recommend wipes, because they were a huge disappointment.

sleepatlast · 23/11/2011 02:53

I was given some MIDI nappies by a friend who's baby had grown out of them: they're brilliant! Soft, much better fit than all others and we've tried every brand inc all supermarkets.ds had diarrhoea and these were only ones not to leak. Good value for money. I like them so much I'm making a trip on Saturday to nearby town to bulk buy! Will get some wipes but not tried yet. I will now recommend these higher than lidle own (my previous favourite). Ds is 6months and 7.3kg

LoveBeingAFirework · 23/11/2011 08:34

Q1 - first impressions were good, the packaging reminded me of the Boots nappies. They did seem bullet than the ones I had used immediately before however they were a size 1 pampers and the aldi ones are size 2 and do seem bigger so might just be that. The tabs were easy to open and position, not like some were you are fishing for a while and at risk of a soaking! They also fitted really well

Q2 - I've only used 3 so far! I was very disappointed with the first one as I changed ds before he had a nap and he woke and was soakingwet as it had leaked, have to say in the nappies defence he had used it to the max and I'm not surprised it leaked tbh I don't know how he filled it that much Blush

Q3 - packaging was very easy to open, I managed it in a rush to fill the nappy bag before going out!

Q4 - I've only used the sensitive so far, they are fine although the smell seems quite chemically for a sensitive wipe. They aren't wet iykwim. Don't believe I'm using more than normal.

Q5 - Might just be my pack but I can't open the wipes with one had, it is really hard and being able to open with one hand can be a life saver. I do prefer these tops than just the sticky ones.

Q6 - the cost is fantastic, approx half the cost of pampers/huggies so defo going to be buying these in future as who could same no to double the nappies! The cost of the wipes is about the same as low priced or on offer wipes but if I'm there for the nappies I might as well get the wipes too.

Q7 - I will definitely use the nappies again. Pampers and huggies have resulted in a lot of washing in the 11 weeks that ds has been here, with a cheaper nappie if they have the same number if leaks it will at least offset the cost of all those hot washes! And save money if they don't leak as much!!

Q8 - yes I would recommend the nappies they are totally on par with the top prices for half the price, very few people could resist! The wipes would then be mentioned as in the wipes are good too but main focus would be the nappies.

I was using the size 2 nappies on ds aged 11 weeks!

Thanks for the nappies and wipes ds has enjoyed his first product test and says he is very happy to use Aldi wipes and nappies in the future Grin

grumpyoldtrout · 23/11/2011 10:36

I tested the nappies on DD3 aged 20 months, using size 5.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel? Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks? I was very impressed. I expected them to be cheap and rubbishy Blush but got a very pleasant surprise. They definitely matched Huggies, which is what we currently use because Pampers and Tesco own-brand give DD3 terrible, bleeding nappy rash, yet are half the price per nappy. They fitted well. Maybe a bit more papery and less give than other nappies, but it wasn't a problem. There was no 'elastic' at the back waist, compared to other nappies, but again it wasn't a problem - there were no up-the-back poo explosions to worry about.
Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging? TBH I don't pay any attention to nappy packaging other than to check it's the right size. It was certainly inoffensive enough: bright green, easily opened.
Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do? I liked the packaging of the box; I liked that there were 80 wipes in the box instead of the 'standard' of 56; I didn't like the strength of scent of the normal wipes (I always use unscented because I generally hate the scent of wipes). I found I used more wipes than normal because they're less abrasive than my normal brand. You'd think this was good, but it meant I had to wipe, and wipe, and wipe, and wipe...
Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what? Not really - possibly make the embossing on the wipes a tiny bit deeper so they wipe more efficiently, but otherwise nothing - the nappies are great.
Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not? They work out at roughly half the price per nappy of Huggies yet have a comparable performance, so I'm happy they're very good value for money. Although the wipes are cheaper, I had to use more of them. Still, they worked out about the same price per nappy-change as my normal brand, when I buy it on special offer.
Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not? I'm now a convert to the nappies. I probably won't buy the wipes again, though. It's not just the cheapness - I need nappy changes to be over as quickly as possible, as DD3 is a wriggle monster who wants to play with the contents of her nappy [boak!] It takes longer with Aldi wipes, so I'll stick to my normal, speedy brand.
Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes? Yes, I'd recommend the nappies, especially for babies with sensitive skin. I probably wouldn't recommend the wipes, though, because of the strong scent (normal) and need to use more per nappy change than normal (normal and unscented) - my rubbish bin wouldn't cope with the extra waste

LizzieBusy · 23/11/2011 11:18

We used the Mamia Size 4 nappies

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

They fit well and were soft. More flexible than tesco own brand

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

With 2 children we have tried all the brands
Pampers - got rashes from active fit so no longer use those
Huggies - Leaky but soft
Tesco - Never leak but very rigid, not soft
Tojours Lidl - Best so far, good value soft and no leakage

Mamio - Soft, good value but they leak

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Fine, no comments. Were red from what I remember

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

Really good. Packaging very solid, easy to close and keeps wipes soft. No rash left on my babies sensitive bottom

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Something to stop them leaking

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Good value but Lidl seem to do more offers

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
Wipes-definitely yes
Nappies - Probably as I shop a lot in Aldi but I would try and get them in Lidl if I could

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

No, I'd sooner recommend Lidl Tojours

Please state the age of your baby/child and the size of nappy you were trying in your response.

Age One Size 4/4+

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I was so excited to receive these nappies, they are so cute! really soft too, and a great fit!

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

:-( We co sleep and I was woken up at 3am with a wet child for the first time since he was tiny! We normally use Pampers with no problems whatsoever.

I perservered the next day and the same problem again, his vest and clothes damp all over. I overcame the problem by more frequent nappy changes in the day and using pampers at night.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packaging was great, no better or worse than any other brands i've tried. Easy enough to open and what I needed to know was there.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

:-( I did not like the wipes, the smell was strange, they were not soft enough or moist enough, I needed to use more than I normally do and the packet was hard to open and close which was good to stop baby emptying packet but not good for mid change with one hand. I tested on one year old son but also used the wipes on my two year old daughter who became very red from using these and complained they hurt.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The absorbancy of the nappies needs to be improved and then they would be really good. I did not like the wipes at all.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

The nappies are excellent value at half the price of my pampers but as they leak unless I use double the amount, I would not be saving anything.

I always use Simple wipes or pampers wipes, I stock up on these massively when they are on offer so I never pay more than a pound a packet for either of these and they are far superior for only a few pence more than the aldi ones.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

No I will not use the nappies agin because they leaked plus I do my shopping online from Asda or Tesco or even Boots so the nappies can be delivered to me.

I would not buy the wipes as they just seemed cheap and irritated my daughters skin..

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

No I would not reccoment the nappies as they leaked and I would not recomend the wipes as they seemed cheap.

Please state the age of your baby/child and the size of nappy you were trying in your response.
DD was 2.5 at the time and was trying comfy up nappy pants in size 5

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
Overall good - fitted well. Good quality.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
Yes they did the job - no leaks.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
All fine and what I'd expect.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
I used sensitive - nice smell. Used same number of wipes as per others.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Not really no. But mayeb have larger sizes in the pull ups?

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Both represent excellent value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
probably wouldn't be able to use either - Aldi's are few and far between and don't normally get to one easily. This was a one off drive past. Big shame!

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I would recommend.

Please state the age of your baby/child and the size of nappy you were trying in your response. 2.5 yrs old, using comfy up pants.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Despite the nappies being a size smaller than I would normally use, they fit dd really well, feel nice and soft, and not as bulky as some other brands.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

They do the job very well, no leaks at all, fit better than both of the major premium brands, and much less bulky feeling on dd than other supermarket brands used.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Packaging was fine, same principle as most others, looked on a par with the other supermarket brands, very similar to asda packaging in fact. Easy to open, information minimal, but at this stage, have to say, not really that interested!

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I really like the wipes, they're very soft, I like the packaging on them, especially the flip top, keeps them moist and contained better than pampers or huggies for example.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Not particularly, the nappies and wipes both compare well with most others I've tried, really actually better than both Pampers and Huggies and much less bulky than Tesco nappies!

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

The nappies are much of a muchness value wise with other supermarket brands, but you definiely get more in the pack than ou would for Pampers/Huggies in a similar carry pack style. The wipes are very good value for money, cheapest I have seen, and just as good as more expensive brands.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely use them again, but it would really involve a separate trip to Aldi, as there isn't one that near to me, all the major supermarket chains are closer.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would definitely recommend the nappies and wipes, they are very good quality, and the wipes are really good value for money too. I've been really impressed with them.

EsmeWeatherwax · 23/11/2011 17:41

Oh yes, sorry, the nappies were size 5 comfy up pants, and, as an aside, dd2 loves the cute elephant design on them, and is currently refusing to wear anything else but "Ephlant nappies!"

smithster · 23/11/2011 20:42

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I use the Junior nappies, recent convert following the recommendation of a friend, they are great, good fit, better than Pampers (been using Active Fit and Baby Dry) which I have used since DS was born (he's 20 months now). Just a shame I didn't know about them earlier! The design is really nice too.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

I've always used Pampers being a sucker and going for the leading brand. I had always been happy with them but these Aldi nappies are better and prettier. No leaks to date (about a month in) and DS can do some big messy ones Shock .

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Packaging is there to be torn open and isn't really important, it contains all the basic info you need.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I've only had one pack of the wipes, the senstive variety and they seem fine. I've also used them on my face to take off make up and didn't find the drying which the Pampers Sensitive can be.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Nothing.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Nappies are excellent value at £4.99 for a carry pack, it costs £10 in Tesco for the same pack of Pampers or £16/17 for 2 packs, so Aldi still works out a lot cheaper for what is a better nappy. Wipes are competitively priced but I'm not so set on using the wipes as I'm very happy with the Huggies Pure.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitley will continue to use the nappies with DS and any more children I may have. I would buy the wipes if I needed them when shopping in Aldi.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would definitley recommend the nappies, and I already have done to a few people. I would also say the wipes are fine.

WinkyWinkola · 23/11/2011 21:12

My ds2 is 25 months. He is trialling size 5 nappies, normal wipes and sensitive wipes.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I feel they are good quality nappies. They have a papery quality to them which made me wonder how they would perform. The fit was perfect.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

No leaks whatsoever. These nappies are really good. Ds2 always has a very full nappy in the morning and some just split and can't take the strain. The Aldi ones seemed to absorb with no bother. I was impressed.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The plastic clasp on the wipes is tricky to open. You need both hands. When you need to act fast, holding down a toddler and reaching for wipes, sometimes you need easy opening accessible wipes!

The packaging on the nappy pack is pretty standard. Didn't notice any perforations to make life easier like they do for example on the Nature Boy and Girl nappies.

Information on the packaging was fine. Easily read, clear and simple. And the award badge was also clear to see.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

Hard to open packs. The wipes came out individually which was great. The green pack of wipes smells faintly like kitchen cleaner. The sensitive pack smells lovely. They could be a little more moist, I think. I felt I was using more to clean up the boy as a result.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I would like to see more thought put into the biodegradeable-ness of nappies. These are like any other in that respect - they'll take years and years to decompose. If Aldi could produce a nappy that one could compost, I would buy it over and over.

The packaging made me think of Pampers. That could be on purpose - piggybacking a tried and tested brand. I personally find Pampers unreliable so the brand association is not positive for me. I wish nappy manufacturers would use unusual colours like purple (the colour of kings) or more yellows. But I guess they've done their research into colours.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Most definitely all very good value compared to leading brands but not necessarily own brand products like Asda's nappies. For the purse though. Not the environment.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I won't use them again even though I think they're a good performing product. I tend to buy nappies that will decompose like Nature Boy and Girl and Moltex. I know they're not as good as reusables but I do what I can. Same goes for the wipes.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would say Aldi nappies are great and very reasonable compared to market leaders. And I'd recommend the sensitive wipes. But I would also mention that they are not eco-friendly - I don't know how many people would care about that though to be honest.

Thank you for allowing me to trial these nappies.

melissab · 24/11/2011 16:03

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
They were quite a good fit. No obvious issues. Felt OK - perhaps slightly more 'stiff' than huggies or pampers

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
Actually perfrmed well ! Was surprised. No leaks, although I haven't been brave enough to use them overnight yet ... want to get a full week of day use before I try 'the big test'

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Looked like a pampers-clone !! Looked a little cheap - coudl easily be tarted up to look more expensive. Info was fine, easy to open

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Skin wipes were very good - not as suggy as sainsburys ones, and not as greasy as pampers - so actually would buy these again, used the same amount. Have not noticed ay difference between the two types, but am using sensiitve in change bag, so less often then 'standard'

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Just the images on the packaging - it does look quite 'budget'

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Yes, very good value for both items

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe for nappies, definitely for wipes :) But my regular shop is not in Aldi, so it'd be a balance of making a special trip out to get these vs inconvenience and petrol costs ....

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
Yes would recommend bothas a 'try it and see' purchase. They performed well and so are up to the job - but obviously they are limited in appeal as you can only buy from one stockist. Whereas (say) Pampers are everywhere.

bettyboo83 · 24/11/2011 16:48

DS is 14 weeks and we were using the size 2 nappies.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I liked the nappies and thought they felt very soft and not too bulky. They fit well; DS is quite slim with skinny legs. The pictures were cute too.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

They worked well; as good as Pampers and Sainsbury's own which are the two other brands I use. We haven't had any leaks so far.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

I can't say I paid any attention to the packaging! I opened it with scissors as I always do and keep the nappies in a basket so I'm not much help on this question! I didn't read any of the information on the packaging.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The wipes were nice to use, not too soggy. The only difference I noticed between them was the smell. I would always choose the ones for sensitive skin out of habit. I used the same amount of wipes as usual.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Recyclable packaging would be good.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I think both the nappies and wipes are very good value; easily as good as other leading brands but much cheaper.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

If I was going near an Aldi store I would definitely buy both the nappies and wipes again but I don't shop there very often, so wouldn't make a special trip.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes, because both products are effective and good value.

Gauchita · 24/11/2011 18:14

Thank you for choosing us to try the Comfy Up pants. DD, 2.5yo was the tester.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Our overall impression was very good. They fit DD perfectly, they were really soft to the touch and slim, yet there were no leaks whatsoever, despite her being a wriggly little sleeper.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

We had tried the ones from Huggies and they were really bad, lots of leaks and the tear away seams were a bit on the rough side to the touch and left two marks on her waist As I mentioned before, there were no leaks with the Aldi ones.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

They weren't difficult to open, although a different colour highlighting the opening would be great. I say this because DH tried to open them and it looked as if he had used his teeth Hmm and swore there was no marked opening on them. It was only when I looked closely that I could see it.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I really liked the wipes. The main difference I found between the two packs was the scent and I must say I much prefer the sensitive ones. I also have to second what others said with regards to the snap top although DD wasn't able to open it and take out every single wipe there as she likes to do whenever she gets her hands on a pack. No sore bottoms here.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

What I mentioned before about the nappies' packaging opening.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

The wipes are really good value for money, yes. The same would apply for the nappies if you compared it with major brand nappies purchased at the supermarket, not in wholesale shops (Costco, Makro, etc.).

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would use them again without hesitation. They were really good, soft, good quality and fit DD perfectly. I would also use the sensitive wipes, they were soft, moist and when you took one out you didn't get an endless string of wipes along with it as well.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes, I would recommend the nappies and the sensitive wipes (the regular ones have too strong a scent in my opinion).

Thanks again!

DS is 13 mo. We were testing size 4 nappies.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
really good! Felt fine, fitted well.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
Great! We only tend to use disposables at night (mostly use washables during the day), and they were stayed on for the whole night without leaking (despite him still waking at least twice a night and drinking a bit both times).

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Like the fact that it's so compact and not too much 'packaging'. Simple, okay to open. Enough info.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Worked as well as the ones I normally use. I'm not used to scented and didn't like the smell of those, but could be because I'm used to unscented ones?

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
For me, the colouring and design of the packaging (pics etc) looks a bit '70s' and cheap...

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Nappies: amazing value for money. Wipes are okay.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
Nappies: yes yes yes! We currently tend to use Lidl ones, as we read about how good they are on here. Have been reluctant to change or try Aldi ones, despite the fact that we do shop there sometimes, as I was so happy with Lidl (had been VERY disappointed with Pampers, and other 'leading' brands, so didn't want to revisist the problems I'd had when using those). Glad I've tried these. Will use again and reccommend.
Wipes: won't rave about them or anything (as I will about the nappies), but they were fine, and would say so.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
oops! answered above, sorry!

Thanks for choosing me to try these. Was really helpful, and I was very pleasantly surprised! :)

Testing the mini nappies on a 10week old of approx 11lbs.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

My overall impression was very good. They fit my LO very well, with good stretch. They felt soft to touch

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

They seemed to fit better than another brand we have used. They felt very absorbent. There were no leaks of urine when using them and lasted well at night time, when we have had a few leaks in the past. However we only had two dirty nappies in the 4 days of testing the nappies and one was contained and the other wasn't, my LO is EBF and I'm not sure anything other than the cloth nappies we use would have contained the one that leaked

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packaging was easy to open. Bright packaging and only really read the sizing information, but that's generally all I look at anyway

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The wipes were lovely, I tested the normal wipes once, but as LO is only 10 weeks I stayed using the sensitive ones. They felt very moist, wiped away the mess with no problem. We usually use cotton wool and water or washable wipes with water, so I can't really compare normal wipe usage.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I think someone else mentioned about packaging the nappies the 'wrong' way up, I would say the same thing, although I took a load out in one clump to pack for going away, had I been taking them out of the packet as I went along that would have been an minor thing to make sure I had to get one and not two. The only problem I had with the wipes is that the lid felt extremely hard to open the first few times, in fact I looked to see if I had missed a clip or something to open the lid with but then towards the end of the package the lid didn't stay shut properly so a slight design problem maybe?

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

yes I think they are good value for money

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

We might use the nappies again, we usually buy eco friendly nappies when we buy disposable, but if we were running short and could get to Aldi then I would buy them again. I would use the wipes again as they felt soft and worked well and were not too expensive.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would recommend Aldi nappies and wipes to other parents, as I felt the nappies worked better than a major brand we have used and the wipes were lovely and soft to use. In fact we mentioned to a friend how impressed we were with them when visiting the other day and showed off one of the nappies

Thanks thanks for selecting me to test the nappies and wipes.

PenguinArmy · 24/11/2011 20:42

actually I see what some of the posters have said about wipes not quite being moist enough now

ImpYCelyn · 24/11/2011 21:23

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
They seem really good so far. They feel nice and soft, even on the leg gussets, and DS seems happy to wear them. They're nice and stretchy. The fit is fine on DS, but the size range is quite large, and I think when he was near the lower end they may have been a bit big on him.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
They are easily as good as other brands that I have used. No leaks, even after 12 hours overnight. They don't seem to have the nasty wee/chemical combo smell of some nappies either.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
The packaging did seem to need to be quite forcefully torn open, there don't seem to be perforations to make it easier. Other than that is seemed pretty standard, likewise the information.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
I use the same number of wipes as usual, but I don't think they're very moist. They are a little bit too dry and I didn't particularly like them. There didn't seem to be a noticeable difference between the two types, but DS doesn't have particularly sensitive skin.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The nappies could perhaps be better with a size 4 and a 4+, rather than one combined size. And the wipes could do with being wetter. The packaging for the wipes was quite tricky to open.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
I think they're excellent value for money. They're as efficient and good quality as leading brands, let alone the other cheaper brands. The wipes I think are not such good value, I'd rather pay more and have better quality.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely use the nappies again and they work well and are much cheaper than buying elsewhere. I probably would not use the wipes.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I have already recommended the nappies to other parents, for all the above reasons. I wouldn't recommend the wipes, unless people were really looking for a cheaper option.

4 week old trying size 1 newborn

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I was impressed with the nappy and how nice it fitted. Nothing about it made me feel it was cheaper than brands.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

Yes they are on a par with pampers or huggies. I'm afraid they did leak but this is breast fed baby poo.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packet was okay. Wasn't keen on the name.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I didn't like the smell of the normal ones. Was happy with the sensitive. Did the job and I would buy them. Used about the same as I normally do. They can out one at a time which is fantastic as that can be so frustrating.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Packet could be nicer.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Yes very good value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would say I would but every child is different so I would say they are worth a try. They are no better or worse than pampers or huggies

poppyandsneeze · 25/11/2011 10:28

Well, I wasn't a product tester, but do use Aldi baby products often so here is my review:

Age - 25 months, size 5 nappies used and wipes used.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Very good nappies, good fit, no leaks, nice not cheap like Sainsburys basics. Better than Sainsburys own brand.
Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks? Just like Sainsburys own brand but cheaper.
Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging? Packaging good, no problems.
