We have yet another lovely new product test for you - this time it's cheese from Cathedral City. On 1 August they are launching their new 100% real Cheddar kids snacking range called Chedds and want to give MNers the chance to be one of the first to try it. They say: "Chedds is available in three fun formats: Cheese and Toasties - mini slices of real Cheddar and melba toast, Nibbles - a mini bag of bite sized Cheddar cubes that kids will love to share and Bricks - mini blocks of Cheddar that are perfect for kids on the go."

We're looking for 50 testers who....

~ Live or can get the cheese delivered within the M25 next Tuesday or Wednesday - you can choose the day of delivery. The reason for this is obviously because the cheese is a chilled item and deliveries will be sent by courier so they don't get too hot. You can get the product delivered to a workplace (with fridge) if this helps.

~ Ideally have a child aged between approx. 6-10 (we can have some flexibility on this)

If selected, you will get samples of each product. All we ask is that your child(ren) and if possible you, try the Chedds and add your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet - we'll be looking for your views on the product in general and how your child feels about the product and the packaging as well as the taste.

Everyone who is selected and who adds their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £100 Space NK voucher

If you're able and willing please add your details here

Thanks and good luck

Tbh though, isn't courier delivery of cheese just utterly ridiculous?

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 17/07/2011 18:52

Ann I entered in error I misread and thought it said around rather than in the M25 area Grin, which tbf according to the courier companies we use for same day deliveries I am.

I herewith humbly apologise Smile

Womblesmom · 17/07/2011 21:53

Oh you guys are so funny...yes, I do agree - Chedds is a bit of a daft name. My kids truly dislike Cathedral City cheese so does that mean they'll like the little Chedds in cute packaging? Hmm, can't wait to see...Not to sure about the Cheese-and-toasties either. A bit too processed? "Hmm" again!

AmberLeaf · 18/07/2011 21:10

Got my email today, look forward to trying 'Chedds' !

Email said to expect delivery on the day I indicated....hmm wish I could remember whether I said tues or wed?

curlyredhair · 18/07/2011 21:15

Me too, but emailed them and they tell you. I can't wait. I've never been chosen for anything before.

AmberLeaf · 19/07/2011 00:01

Me neither!

Im pretty much in both days anyway so i'll see it when it gets here.

Cant believe how excited I am about some cheese.

Wigeon · 19/07/2011 08:15

Well, I think Chedds is a good a name as any and am quite happy that I am being sent free cheese in the post today! What's not to like?! Grin

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2011 08:17

DS is looking forward to getting his sample. Only problem is I will have to stop DH and DD from scoffing it all down too Grin

AmberLeaf · 19/07/2011 12:29

bigtilly, have another read of the OP, its ok if the grown ups try it too Grin

sybilfaulty · 20/07/2011 12:18

Well mine have just arrived, I have just woofed a packet of the toast and cheese ones and they were delicious! I will give the other packets to the kids but am liking it all so far. I'll eat them if they won't....

moonbells · 20/07/2011 12:54

Mine just arrived and have duly been shoved in the fridge. Now trying to beat off various colleagues who want to sample them too... Grin I would have chosen yesterday to start dieting, wouldn't I?

DS will no doubt scoff the whole blinking lot before bedtime. I think I might time him...

Nice little coolbag though.

sybilfaulty · 20/07/2011 12:57

I am supposed to be Dukan so low fat and low carb. Failed on both counts there.

It's only a very small packet though so can't imagine a wee taste will do much harm? Gwan - you know you want to!

maddiemostmerry · 20/07/2011 13:20

My chedds have arrived too!

Have been good and put in fridge for later.

Coolbag great! I will be using it to put the dogs frozen food in when we go on holiday next week.

AmberLeaf · 20/07/2011 13:23

Mine arrived about 20 mins ago.

Fab cool bag, that will come in handy this summer as its the right size for a few sandwiches to take to the park.

Cheeds are in the fridge calling me ready for when the kids get home!

Stinkyfeet · 20/07/2011 13:25

Mine's just arrived - will try them when the ds's get home from school.

Also very pleased with the coolbag!!

Wigeon · 20/07/2011 14:08

I have cheese too! Arrived unaccompanied, by taxi: "Hello, I'd like a taxi to Watford please....name's Mr Chedds...yes, C H E D D S, like Cheddar" Grin.

PfftTheMagicDragonhideGloves · 20/07/2011 15:59

H had a phone call yesterday, when the CHEDDS were supposed to arrive, saying "very sorry, they will come tomorrow instead".

No CHEDDY CHEDDS yet. He has to leave work soon.

Stinkyfeet · 20/07/2011 16:13

Ooh the cheese and toast things are quite nice actually!

PfftTheMagicDragonhideGloves · 20/07/2011 17:18

Never mind!

The cheese van could not stop outside H's offices. So we will be having our delivery tomorrow via a cheese bike!!

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 20/07/2011 17:33

We have cheese here. It was almost 'had' cheese as DS has necked at least one portion of everything already. as have I.

moonbells · 20/07/2011 17:43

The first verdict is in: YUM! One Cheese toastie pack has been demolished. Followed by a "Please can I have another one of these?"

He's now got a pack of cubes. They are vanishing rapidly. I think scheduled supper has been superseded...

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2011 17:57

I don't think ours has arrived - they rang to change the delivery to today - I was at work and said leave it with a neighbour, but no delivery note or anything Sad

What time did yours arrive?

curlyredhair · 20/07/2011 18:17

Well they've arrived and so far dd's have demolished a cheese and toastie one each and are now on their second packet of bites, so I think I can safely say they're going down really well. Both like the taste, it's much milder than I expected. Personally think the bite ones are a bit small, but they really appeal to the children. DD1 thinks the name is good, because it tastes like cheddar cheese and sounds like cheddar (sorry, not the most insightful review here). DD2 keeps showing me each bite and saying; 'this one's very big'.
Love the cooler bag, can we keep it?

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2011 18:39

Finally found mine at the neighbours, still intact Smile

What is in the white bag? I am guessing it is the ice pack and I mustn't rip it open?!

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 20/07/2011 18:53

DS has now eaten two packs of the mini ones, which we both think are the best. As to the rest, he's had a couple of the Bites and had a go at the toastie one but is less interested in the toast. The cheese is your basic mousetrap but that's what I expected (have been snaffling tastes).

My only criticism is the packets, particularly on the Bites are difficult to open and I had to resort to scissors. DS found them impossible though he does have a little bit of a fine motor skills issue.
