Hello. As you probably already know, Ford recently asked Mumsnetters to test their new cars - and they've told us how delighted they were with your informed and enthusiastic comments.

So delighted, in fact, that now they want your opinion on Ford Econo Check technology, a new service that shows you how to optimise your driving and potentially save you up to 25% on fuel.

If you'd like to throw your hat into the ring to be one of the 10 Mumsnet reviewers Ford is looking for, you'll need to:

  • Drive a Ford registered from 1998 or later (click here for list of excluded vehicles)

  • Be able to have a data logger fitted to your car

  • Agree to add your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet

If you are chosen as a reviewer, you will receive a personalised in-depth analysis of your driving style and suggestions on how to drive more efficiently. After this, you will be offered a free 90-minute Econo Driver Training Course (worth £80), as well as an optional additional Econo Check to see how much your improved driving style is saving you at the fuel pump.

All selected reviewers will also receive a £50 John Lewis voucher and a £15 money-off voucher for their next service at a Ford Dealer.

To sign up, add your details here as soon as possible.

You can read full details of the project here

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them on this thread

Thank you, MNHQ

Just started it here

We noticed a few of you had mentioned that the Ford dealer had made recommendations about your tyres - we asked Ford about this and this is what they say: -

"Tyres are one of the most important safety items on a car. They are the only part of your vehicle touching the road and they brake, they steer and they grip. One in four vehicles out there have a dangerous or illegal tyre fitted and the stopping distances increase significantly the lower the tread depth. In fact, according to Continental, in some conditions a tread depth of just 3mm can increase braking distance by up to 70%. The police in the UK change their tyres at 3mm as a matter of routine, for safety reasons. Illegal tyres (1.6mm or less) can result in a fine of up to £2,500 and 3 penalty points"

Hope that helps reassure you - any problems at all please email [email protected]
