Video webchat with Will Young - Would you like to interview him on Mumsnet's behalf?

JustineMumsnet · 19/10/2009 12:35

So there's been a bit of discussion about the limitations of our current webchat format and seeing as we've got some video capability now we thought we'd give a video variation a try to see how that works.

We're looking for a couple of mumsnetters to come along to a venue in West London and represent MN by putting forwards Mumsnetters' questions in a video chat with Will Young next Monday (26th October) between 12.30 and 1pm.

We'll be going along with a camera crew who will film the interview which will then be aired on the site at a later date (as an edited clip with a link to a full version).

As a special reward the interviewers will then be invited to attend Will's exclusive live album promotion show and after-show party the following evening (Tuesday). If you're interested let us know here and we'll put your name in the hat.

(ps we're hoping to persuade him to sing too.)

Of course it's nto only about parenting. I suppose I wonder how one chooses guests for webchats unless there is some parenting angle. is it anyone who fancies the publicity?

JustineMumsnet · 20/10/2009 13:17

Mumsnet isn't really about just parenting though, is it? Always strikes me how much of Talk is not discussing parenting issues or children at all - well over 50% of it. It's more really about about what women (who happen to be mums) are interesting in - that's certainly what's reflected in the stats anyway.

I love Will Young.
I just want to say I have never ever voted in a reality TV show except when I voted for him!
I'd love to interview him but fear Imay be utter shit because I like him far too much IYKWIM
And I'm sure you do not want the interview to consist of me trying to turn a gay man into a hetero?
But if I am wrong and that is what you want
I'm your girl yes indeedy

feckaff · 20/10/2009 15:30

I have been a massive loyal & dedicated fan of Will Young since day one. What a fantastic opportunity this is!! Im never lucky when it comes to things like this though Im not sure if i am meant to post a question in here, or just leave a message, but just to be on the safe side, Id like to ask him what his biggest achievement has been since winning Pop Idol, & How he would describe his fans in 3 words..

Please pick me!!

saphlovewill · 20/10/2009 17:50

I would love to would be a dream come true, but how do i enter.

paisleyleaf · 20/10/2009 17:57

I'm not interested in Will Young. But will be interested to see how the video thing works out. Having the video aired on the site at a later date doesn't sound so 'live'.

NorkyButNice · 20/10/2009 18:20

Oi all you Will Young fans who have registered on MN just to get picked for this - eff orf!

Come on MNHQ - pick a genuine mner at least

SusieEP · 20/10/2009 18:34

Hi there! I'd love to enter your competition to interview Will Young! I don't have any babies of my own but I look after them all day long!
I'd love to represent Mumsnet and ask all the questions that people want to hear.
I understand Will's a pretty top bloke so I'd love to meet him and find out what makes him tick and what he thinks about parenting.
Pick me! Pick me!! reverts to the inner child inside!!

feckaff · 20/10/2009 18:40

squoozy · 20/10/2009 18:45

Please could you put my name down? I'm sure Will has a lot to say about loads of issues including parenting, children and life in general and I'd love the chance to put forward some of Mumsnetters' questions.

Thank you

nodgersmum · 20/10/2009 18:49

I waited ten years for my son but found out when pregnant that he had a rare chromosome abnormality. I did keep him and now am so proud of my most loving son.. its been the most reqarding job. Another rewarding job would be to interview sweet Will, he has a lovely beaming smile just like my son.

Charleyvic34 · 20/10/2009 18:52

I would like to add my name to the very long list for myself and my friend who are both huge Will fans.Interviewing him would be a dream and Will is exceptional live and to be part of the album launch and the aftershow party can only surely happen once in a lifetime.A bit of a long shot but always worth a try.I dont live in London but I dont think transport would be a problem anyway.

emmamd955 · 20/10/2009 20:01

i would love the opportunity to interview will, always been a big fan, and have tickets for the tour in nov..although am currently 8months pregnant with my 2nd baby.due ten days before the show. have not missed a tour yet so would love to come down and see will now incase i dont make it to the show!

Topas · 20/10/2009 20:15
