Columnist and author Tony Parsons will be joining us here on Monday 6th October from 9-10pm for a live chat. Tony's sixth novel, 'My Favourite Wife' has just been published and is described by The Independent as 'a much bigger, more ambitious book' than million-selling 'Man and Boy'. If you can't make the chat you can post your questions in advance here.
Hope to see you here on Monday.

cremola he already ADDRESSED the Boris issue in the same paragraph that he called Jamie Oliver Heroic And Brave

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 06/10/2008 21:50

oh yes answer the Boris question.

Beetroot · 06/10/2008 21:51

tell us what father Christmas puts in your kids stockings

midnightexpress · 06/10/2008 21:51

cremola I think he discussed BoJo vs Ken earlier on.

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 06/10/2008 21:51

did he? I should be on red bull not wine.

ScummyMummy · 06/10/2008 21:51

Tony- I think you misunderstood. I wasn't offering to babysit or asking if you were happy with your wife. I'm sure your family are lovely and thought your daughter's violin comment was v sweet.

I am worried about what my children will think of me. I think most people do worry about this, don't they? But unlike you I don't have the disadvantage of them being able to wiki or google me in the future.

So you have not answered my question very well. Why don't you use this opportunity to set the record straight for when your daughter googles you? Have your views on women changed?

Pesha · 06/10/2008 21:52

I started Slam on holiday WW but not finished it yet. Thought it was ok but his other books I read in a day or 2 and got really into so obvioulsy not as good or I wouldn't have stopped!

So Tony Parsons - if I like Nick Hornby - and you seem to be mistaken for him quite a lot, on here at least - do you think I would also like your books?

champagnesupernova · 06/10/2008 21:52

LOL at Beety's Hornby story

BIGwads · 06/10/2008 21:52

tony,do you post on any internet forums, or do you think most people that do are kinda geeky and odd.?

champagnesupernova · 06/10/2008 21:53

Do you ever go back to Basildon then Tony?

Beetroot · 06/10/2008 21:54

TP - why did you choose to come on MN?

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 06/10/2008 21:54

Can you give whomovedmychocolate any advice on getting rid of her squirrel?

DoubleBluff · 06/10/2008 21:54

DEAR SPARKLYPSEUDONYM - THANK YOU FOR BEING MY READER AND FOR YOUR QUESTION - WHOOPS, CAPS AGAIN. Sorry I disapponted you with the book set in 1977 - Stories we Could Tell - i know (from the sales) that i disappointed a lot of people with that book. But I guess that happens sometimes - and it was a good slap i n the face. It made me realize that nothing is guaranteed or carved in stone and success has to be earned every time out. But I believed in the story - and wanted to write about that time - and i liked the book - and so did 3 other people. But listen SParklyPseudonym - THNANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME AND FOR GIVING THE NEW ONE , MY FAVOURITE WIFE, A GO. I let you down but you still read the new one - I will try my best never to let you down again. Someone asked me if I wrote wqith a reader in mind - this is that reader. I know she is on my side but I also know that I always ALWAYS run the risk of losing her. AND I DON'T WANT TO LOSE HER. THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION SPARKLYPSUEDONYM. And goodnight and sleep well and sweet dreams, and may your life be full of luck and love and all the things you wish for yourself. TONY XXXOOO

Tutter · 06/10/2008 21:55
