Sunday 8 March will see the first ever Comic Relief Danceathon; a six-hour dance party and fundraising extravaganza, raising funds that will transform people's lives right here in the UK and across countries in Africa. The event will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman, whom we are delighted to welcome to MNHQ for a webchat.

Half woman, half fringe,* ** Claudia is a celebrated presenter of a range of programmes including two of the BBC's flagship arts programmes, The Arts Show on Radio 2 and Film 2015 as well as MN favourite Strictly Come Dancing. She is also a huge supporter of Comic Relief.

Have a question for Claudia? Then please join us for a live webchat on Friday 30 January from 1.00 to 2.00 pm. If you can’t join us live, then post your questions in advance on this thread.

Everything you need to know about Comic Relief's groove-tastic Danceathon
Claudia will be joined by a host of stars at Wembley on 8 March, dancing for six hours with over 12 of the nation’s best dance instructors. The style will change every 30 minutes, 70s to Swag via Funk, 80s Power, West End musicals and more. Read our breakdown and find out how you can take part here.

*We know we shouldn't comment on her appearance really, but the Winklefringe is a national treasure
**Plus it’s her own joke!

@Mitchell50

Hello Claudia!

Thanks so for coming on. Love you and SCD!

Have you got any little stories from backstage about the judges? I'm sure they get up to all sorts...particularly Bruno.

Xx

My lips are sealed. I LOVE THEM.

Termagant · 30/01/2015 13:48

Hi Claudia,

What is your "must dance to this with my friends" song?

nobutreally · 30/01/2015 13:50

Aww, thanks for the reply. The dance-nap plan sounds like a good one, we can work with that.

I will tell my son you think he sounds brilliant and he will explode with joy (well, he's ten and pre-teen, so actually, he'll mutter something and smirk a bit). I don't suppose you'd like to tell my daughter how nice she is, just to even things up?

@Dinnerfourone

Hi Claudia,

Are you a Mumsnetter?

I'd actually not heard about the danceathon, I'll go and take a look now, will get my Zumba crazed friends involved. Grin

PLEASE do. Thank you thank you. We'll make an enormous fuss of you. I am new to Mumset. Now never leaving. I have a gazillion questions about why my 3 year doesn't sleep through the night. I reckon this website can help me.

Totally. I think your daughter is also outstanding. If yours are anything like mine, they don't love each other ALL the time. I always tell mine they'll adore each other when they get older. Fingers crossed.... My boy is 11 and my daughter is 8.

Mitchell50 · 30/01/2015 13:55

Nobutreally I think your daughter is lovely...probably doesn't have quite the same affect though.
xx

@Termagant

Hi Claudia,

What is your "must dance to this with my friends" song?

Crazy in Love. I was once at a wedding and that song came on and we all danced like lunatics. Three of us were HEAVILY pregnant. X

I wish I could. Did it for a while when I was 16. Haven't done it since but wish I could. I love the sound...

Somerset. Babington House is the greatest hotel I've ever been to. They make roast chicken that made me WEEP. If not there, Italy.

TripleH · 30/01/2015 14:03

thanks for answering that (we have been debating in the office for a while) :)

daneathon first, but knitathon after that, much more relaxing! good luck with it, see you there xx

Showy · 30/01/2015 14:04

Your 3yr old doesn't sleep through the night because you're awesome and daylight hours aren't enough for them to appreciate that awesomeness.

That's the lie I tell myself. While eating gingerbread men. And weeping.

ClaudiaWinkleman · 30/01/2015 14:04

THANK YOU for talking to me. Please dance with me and Emma and lovely people. MARCH 8 rednoseday/danceathon

nobutreally · 30/01/2015 14:14

Awww, Claudia AND Mitchell50 - dd will be chuffed to bits Smile

Thanks - as lovely as we knew she would be. I'll look into signing me & ds up for the London danceathon now!
