Hello all,
Piers Morgan, former Editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, and now Executive Editor of First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at 9-12 year olds, is coming to Mumsnet for an online chat on Tuesday 10th October at 12.30pm. So make sure you make a note in your diary to log on and post a question. If you can't make the actual event do post your question in advance here. Whilst he can't promise to answer every one he'll do what he can (and we reckon he should be able to type quite fast being a journo and all that).
Best,
MNHQ

When do you think Blair will/should stand down? And do you think Gordon will replace him (given his moment might have been and gone)?

redbullbloodandbump · 10/10/2006 13:50

And do you realise the impact of jamie olivers healthy eating in Special Needs schools????

tigermoth · 10/10/2006 13:50

The staff working on this newspaper - any that may have access to children's email accoints, be interviewing children for features etc - have they been police checked?

Dear Greensleeves,

I'm only here because you aske me to be here. If you don't like it, go and paint your nails and stop seething.

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 13:51

That's the first sensible thing you've said yet, Piers, bravo.

Re redbullbloodandbump's SN question.. this is a picture of my gorgeous boy

(Sorry but I wanted to show Mr. Morgan my little boy.. so there! )

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 13:52

Your previous post , I meant, not the silly remark with which you have further degraded yourself in front of the nation's mothers

PiersMorgan · 10/10/2006 13:52

Dear Slug,

Try reading First News, then you might realise it is not the News of the World in disguise.

'Girl-related issues' mean just that. There are things like anorexic fashion role models which pertain to girls only, that we will highlight and criticise.

JessaJackOLantern · 10/10/2006 13:53

Did you know boys get anorexia too?

misdee · 10/10/2006 13:53

yes support heart charities more!!

katzg · 10/10/2006 13:54

Leave him be, i think he is giving as good as he's getting.

Can you answer the special needs question now?

slug · 10/10/2006 13:54

Define 'girl related issue' for me Piers. Go on, I dare you.

CreepyJess · 10/10/2006 13:54

(amd maybe the cystic fibrosis trust too.. if you could squeeze in a little section..)

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 10/10/2006 13:54

Did you know that girls have mothers, fathers, brothers, and later husbands, partners, friends, who grieve for them when they get anorexia?

Not really just "girl-related" is it? And boys get it too.

misdee · 10/10/2006 13:54

life on the heart transplant list

i just cant resist publicity

PiersMorgan · 10/10/2006 13:55

Dear bundle,

I'd like to be trapped in a Beirut cell for five years with Scarlett Johanssen. That would make it all so much more bearable.

badkarma · 10/10/2006 13:55

Piers

Media freedom is a myth in the UK where over 50 pieces of legislation restrict what can be reported. Can you comment on the balance between media freedom and human rights such as privacy of the individual, the right to fair trial and the protection of minors?

Oh, and can you possibly tell me your definition of the difference between the truth and bias. Isn't biasedness just one persons view of their truth?

Can you answer this and then can I quote you in my dissertation????

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 13:55

Good on you misdee, we might as well salvage something useful out of this nonsense.

Overrun · 10/10/2006 13:55

If the paper is targeted at children then the use of the word "girls" is correct rather than condescending

QueenEvil · 10/10/2006 13:55

So would I Piers, so would I.
