Hello all,
Piers Morgan, former Editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, and now Executive Editor of First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at 9-12 year olds, is coming to Mumsnet for an online chat on Tuesday 10th October at 12.30pm. So make sure you make a note in your diary to log on and post a question. If you can't make the actual event do post your question in advance here. Whilst he can't promise to answer every one he'll do what he can (and we reckon he should be able to type quite fast being a journo and all that).
Best,
MNHQ

It DID get a bit Lord of the Flies.

The problem is, we ARE two million bored housewives who never get to speak to men, apart from the postman.

And personally it's quite hard to think when you've got a four year old giving you conkers are saying "Look mummy the baby did a poo HAHAHAHA!"

I probably shouldn't have called him a heartless bastard.

bosscat · 10/10/2006 19:49

I thought this thread made MN posters look thick and bored actually never mind PM. As for the poster who suggested MN interviewing guests was like Jeremy Paxman, I don't think so.

Why get involved in a thread if you just hurl insults? If you don't have any respect for the guest then bugger off and don't join in. Why the repetitive questionning about SN? Since when was PM ever an expert on the bloody subject?

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 20:02

I disagree. I think that as mothers we have a civic duty to quash any attempt by profiteering shop-soiled media whores like him to use our children's minds as yet another source of dishonest income. He can stick his "newspaper" where the monkey sticks its nuts.

I thought he was jolly funny

He would make a good MNer, if only we didn't so excited in the presence of men

He was a good sport

What about David Blunkett, he's got a new book out ...

bosscat · 10/10/2006 20:19

Greensleeves I alternate by punching my computer screen when you post to loving you and wishing I knew you in RL

GhoulsToo · 10/10/2006 20:21

I thought he was ok.

Thought some of the personal comments were quite uncalled for tbh.

Also think its a bit hypocritical to get all apopletic about his comments on Cherie etc - are we members of the same website or have I been dreaming this past few years?

CountessDracula · 10/10/2006 20:29

oh arseflaps to missing this

Piers if you are still up for lunch my photo is here (obviously I will wipe my face before lunch)

MortuaryAnyone · 10/10/2006 20:32

PMSL countess. Fantastic!

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 20:34

I'm happy with that bosscat, I've had worse reactions

gRowlers · 10/10/2006 20:50

My dislike for Piers Morgan has intensified and I have a new-found respect for Jeremy Clarkson for punching him in the head.
What a *ick.

TutterIckOrTreat · 10/10/2006 21:08

bosscat - you are soooo right

Monkeytrousers · 10/10/2006 21:20

Oh bugger I missed it. I think he's one of the most gross immoral self publicists who personifies the current post-modern malaise, constantly passing the buck and filling his fat flabby trousers.

Get him back Justine and let me at 'im!!

Monkeytrousers · 10/10/2006 21:29

Well exactly Greeny, down my trousers!

willow2 · 10/10/2006 22:32

CD - maybe we 3 could all meet for a pint - at club level, if not higher, before Saturday's match?

donnie · 11/10/2006 13:14

exactly ginmummy. No need to paraphrase my posts .

MamaGhoul · 12/10/2006 11:57

I'm very disappointed he didn't answer my gay-for-a-day question.

4 year old thread alert. Though I have just finished his autobiography and thought it was good.
