Hello all,
Piers Morgan, former Editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, and now Executive Editor of First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at 9-12 year olds, is coming to Mumsnet for an online chat on Tuesday 10th October at 12.30pm. So make sure you make a note in your diary to log on and post a question. If you can't make the actual event do post your question in advance here. Whilst he can't promise to answer every one he'll do what he can (and we reckon he should be able to type quite fast being a journo and all that).
Best,
MNHQ

Dear Overrun,

I do regret not seeing more of my kids as an editor. But since I was so cruelly fired, I've got to see a lot more of them. In fact, too much I suspect. My oldest said yesterday: 'Dad, can you go back to being an editor because I'm bored with having to fill your days for you.'

Dear willow2

My favourite Arsenal player ever is Ian Wright, natural goalscorer and a total nutcase.

As for Rosicky, early days but I like what I see. I think we'll win the Premiership this year, Chelsea's roubles are crumbling.

marthamoo · 10/10/2006 12:47

Piers, if you try and use the code on your website you get the message "MUMSNET offer code has not been recognised" - it's no good plugging your newspaper on here if you're not going to give us a discount!

TutterIckOrTreat · 10/10/2006 12:47

give him a chance - he's working from the first questions - not reached slug's yet

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 12:47

This is beginning to whiff of David'ManofthePeople'Cameron.

Blandmum · 10/10/2006 12:47

What do you think about the burning topic of the day, 'Should you let your children run up the wrong side of the slide' ?

GhoulsToo · 10/10/2006 12:48

Piers - you were brilliant on Question Time. Have you ever thought of going into politics. We could do with someone who gives it to us straight!

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:48

"Did you threaten to overrule him?"

ginmummy · 10/10/2006 12:48

Slug - it's a brilliant and extremely valid question but it's difficult to answer because tits and arses sell tabloids and editors seem to think that all that little girls want to learn about is how to be big girls and go out with boys.

CheesyFeetcomingtoGETyou · 10/10/2006 12:48

He's not David NdP he's Dave

Seeing as we are all friends now

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:48

"Did you threaten to overrule him?"

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 10/10/2006 12:48

Piers I think you look a bit like Dave Cameron. Sorry.

I'd like to ask all the same questions as Slug, please.

slug · 10/10/2006 12:48

It's not that he hasn't reached it, he's avoiding it.

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:49

"Did you threaten to overrule him?"

SherlockLGJ · 10/10/2006 12:49

Will you lot stop it, I have just sprayed coffee all over my desk and my paperwork.

TwigTwoolett · 10/10/2006 12:49

"so cruelly fired"??

really

I'd like to be that cruelly fired

Kelsbells · 10/10/2006 12:49

I've just called the First News subscription hotline number - 0870 428 8222 - and they say the code will be live on the web tomorrow (technical problems) but you can order on the phone straight away.

PiersMorgan · 10/10/2006 12:49

Dear YeahBat,

I don't know if I was set up over those Iraq photos, but I do know that we still don't know who took them, what they depict, where they were taken, or anything. And since some British soldiers have now started admitting they abused Iraqi civilians, I think I am entitled to feel rather proud of what we exposed. My own brother has just returned from Iraq, and he thought we were right to expose the abuse because it had been going on, and real decent oldiers hate it.

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:49

"Did you threaten to overrule him?"

JustineMumsnet · 10/10/2006 12:49

The First News discount we're told will be activated by this pm. Don't worry, am sure Piers will get to some of the later questions - we've still got him for abother hour or so and he's going well.
