Hello all,
Piers Morgan, former Editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, and now Executive Editor of First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at 9-12 year olds, is coming to Mumsnet for an online chat on Tuesday 10th October at 12.30pm. So make sure you make a note in your diary to log on and post a question. If you can't make the actual event do post your question in advance here. Whilst he can't promise to answer every one he'll do what he can (and we reckon he should be able to type quite fast being a journo and all that).
Best,
MNHQ

WelshBorisKarloff · 10/10/2006 12:40

americans cry a lot

lmao

bundle · 10/10/2006 12:40

what do effect do you think "patronage" of certain newspapers has on content (a certain flame-haired editor's boss springs to mind..)?

edam · 10/10/2006 12:40

I'm on my lunch break too, does that bump my questions up the order at all?

FrannyandZooey · 10/10/2006 12:40

Quinoa - yes or no?

WE NEED TO KNOW

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 10/10/2006 12:41

did you really write this?

TwigTwoolett · 10/10/2006 12:41

JARM .. its patently obvious he's pushing First News and potentially his books too

Piers .. do you believe in smacking then?

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 12:41

No such thing as bad publicity and all that, jarm.

(BTW - I wouldn't y'know, either)

CheesyFeetcomingtoGETyou · 10/10/2006 12:41

JARM- no, you're not

(none of my questions will get answered now will they?)

TwigTwoolett · 10/10/2006 12:42

OMgoodG .. you didn't really write that did you?

bundle · 10/10/2006 12:42

do you like butternut squash?

PiersMorgan · 10/10/2006 12:42

Dear ScreamandYellowFeathers,

Yes, celebrities have a lot of responsibility to children as role models. They get a lot of perks out of fame - cars, houses, freebies and so on. The least they can do is say sensible things. Graham Norton's 'drugs are wonderful' interview was a classic case in point. He was wrong to say it, and given his age rather pathetic too.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 12:42

So far the only question I want to see answered is Slug's. I couldn't give a hairy arsed tinkers toss what kind of undergarments he and his cronies wear.

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:42

Oh, he's only on to questions from Thursday, 5 October, 2006 6:13:33 AM

slug · 10/10/2006 12:42

dodgy wizard! You've put me off my lunch!!!

Kaloo20 · 10/10/2006 12:42

faster Piers faster .... 100's of questions, so little time

  • still wanting to know if I can be a First News reporter in Vietnam
  • if not First News or personal sponsorship will be fine (but being a reporter would be better)

Oh the joy of publicity.

Thank the lord my girls are too young for newspapers.

He doesnt really want to be questioned by hundreds of parents does he - he just wants us to all go out and buy his newspaper!

Tinker · 10/10/2006 12:43
CheesyFeetcomingtoGETyou · 10/10/2006 12:43

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 10/10/2006 12:43

Yes, slug's question please and pronto I have a conference to go to at 1 p.m.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 12:44

lol, sorry tinker !

PiersMorgan · 10/10/2006 12:44

Dear fairyjay

For god's sake sell those paparazzi photos of me on the Barbados beach quick - I need the publicity.

Are they the ones of Jodie Kidd sticking her tongue down my throat?

Stargazer · 10/10/2006 12:44

Hi Piers

Have just found the website and currently printing a copy of the paper. Pleased, and surprised, to see that it deals with real news - and not a lads mag like some of your previous publications . Will show it to my son - if he like it, we may subscribe.

Would like to see an answer to Slug's questions.

CheesyFeetcomingtoGETyou · 10/10/2006 12:45

looks like we're all waiting for an answer to Slug's question Piers
