@ktwiltshire

Hi paul

i have suffered with bulimia for all of my teenage years and (so far) all of my adult years. My Drs say they wont treat/help me until I am ready to make changes, but meanwhile im stuck in the middle.
I have started listening to ICMYT and wonder would your techniques for weight loss apply in my situation i.e. to help stop comfort eating, trigger foods etc etc?

Many Thanks
Katie

There's a friend of mine called John Arroyo, who is based in Bath and he has an excellent success rate with bulimics. My system is not designed to help people with eating disorders although many people have reported that the body image sections of it have been very helpful.

I recommend that you see John, when I can find his details (I don't have them with me) I can forward them on to you.

Just in case you missed my question (none of mine have been answered lol)

How often should I listen the CD that comes with ICMYT? Im guessing we dont have to listen to it every day for teh rest of our lives - but should it be every day to start with?And for how long - 2 weeks, 3 months, longer? Thanks x

solo · 12/01/2011 19:35

Hmmmm...I think I'm going to have to save up for the ICMYT cd aren't I?!

whomovedmychocolate · 12/01/2011 19:36

NotOlive - I'll be coming along and I'll be glad to meet up and hold your hand if you are worried :)

@philmassive

Hi Paul. I can remember listening to you on capital radio when I was younger and was amazed when you reinvented yourself so successfully in such a seemingly different sphere. What happened to change you from dj to hypnotist? And do you consider yourself a different person altogether from the dj you once were?

Thanks so much - am glad you enjoyed listening to me when I was on Capital. The reason I changed careers is because I became more interested in hypnosis than in playing records, although I do miss radio.

fatpantsandgladrags · 12/01/2011 19:36

me too solo!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 12/01/2011 19:37

Paul you are great. So pleased you can help some of these lovely ladies. Liking your energy.

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:37

@HowToLookGoodGlaikit

Paul, what happens at your seminar? Ive just realised I have no idea Blush

I'm glad you asked, because I want to talk about it! It's a one-day motivational event where I do everything that I would do with you if we were sat together doing a personal session in my study. however, there are hundreds of other people presents. It's light hearted, its dynamic, and it's highly motivating.

My intent is to change the way you think about food and the way that you think about yourself forever, in an entirely positive way.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/01/2011 19:37

You should have a hypnosis radio show! Grin

ktwiltshire · 12/01/2011 19:37

Thank you so much for answering my question Paul. I figure its worth trying, I doubt it can hurt. I live in Dorset so Bath wouldnt be that far. my email address is [email protected] if that helps.
I will listen to the body image sections in bed tonight!
I am so keen to get better and shed the weight that bulimia has 'helped' me pile on, especially after 3 children!

Thank you again

It's an entirely personal issue. Some people listen to it every day for the first few weeks, and then every now and then when they need a boost or have a bad day.

My system works through reinforcements, so it definitely helps to listen to it more than once.

MirandaGoshawk · 12/01/2011 19:39

Solo it's not expensive on Amazon. In fact it's a total bargain.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/01/2011 19:40

[quote Smileypeeple]

Hi Paul,

Have you considered putting your hypnosis, relaxation and NLP techniques to use with helping woman give birth? Almost half the population give birth at some point in their lives so I imagine it would have a good market, and I think this is an area where woman do struggle to find good information and support on something potentially hugely beneficial that gets scant mention to pregnant woman.

After a traumatic first birth, which after self analysis, I decided was hugely down to my fear, panic and loss of control of the situation and myself, I used a made up type of hypnobirthing and had a truly wonderful second experience, where despite the pain, I remained calm I felt in control, I felt confident I could cope and I felt a huge sense of euphoria afterwards at my acheivment.

Since then I've shared my rudimentary made up techniques (I know a little about NLP) with other mothers, but there is little out there in the mainstream addressing this.

So, how about a 'I can make you push' book? Grin

solo · 12/01/2011 19:40

Hmm erm...I mean the seminar obviously!

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:43

@lililolo

I've just started doing the icmyt CDs and so far I haven't weighed myself which is a miracle in itself. My problem is just that I only get the chance to listen to the cd after the kids are in bed and I always fall asleep. Does that make a difference? I have about 5 stone to get rid of so can't afford to make any mistakes. Am very detirmined to do it for good this time!

It doesn't matter at all that you fall asleep. In fact it's all still going into your unconscious mind.

When you were a new mother and your baby cried in the middle of the night, you woke up because the unconscious mind is always listening. It's the same with the CDs.

5inthebed · 12/01/2011 19:43

Hi Paul

I have just built up the confidence to ask my mam about my real dad, it took 11 years for me to do this. Following on from a long story, I now need to speak to my aunt to get in touch with my biological dad, but have zero confidence in doing this. I don't want to wait another 11 years! What can I do to overcome this?

Thanks x
